Not a summer goes by without me visiting this place multiple times. The most wonderful place in the world with such rich history. Make sure you visit the restaurant The Crooked Hammock on the way out.

I've been going here for many years. It's a beautiful campground and surrounding park. A lot to do and many trails- don't forget all the beaches! Dog friendly which is a huge plus. The dunes contain a lot of hidden war structures, very surreal. Clean park/ beaches and very accommodating.

Went biking on a whim and boy was it a great find. About 15 mile stretching from Rehoboth to Lewes. Didn't make it that far this time . Looped back at Gordon's pond. The ride was so nice. Views of ocean, marshes, wild life, pine trees. And it wasn't crowded at all. They even have a fix it station to pump any flats.

A really nice decent size park. The observation towers are worth a walk up. You can get a nice view of the geography of the park from them. There are some interesting things to see in the park sick as animals and visitor's centers. The people who work here are very nice as well.

Shorter drive than Ocean City, MD, from my location, and even though a lot of people were there it was easy to find space and didn't feel too crowded. Lots of lifeguards too. I hoped the modest entry fee would mean less people than a beach with no fee. Not sure if it did or not as I can't really go back and compare.

Great place to camp. Its a small campground with great bath houses and lots of trees, with sandy sites for tents and good areas for RVs. This is our second time here and we enjoy it greatly. However it fills up a year in advance so hard to get a spot, but worth it

This place has great walking/running and bicycle trails that are marked similar to all DE state parks style. It has an area for camping (havent done that in 20 years) and its own beaches, including the ability to drive your own vehicles onto certain parts of the beach. Caution though, don't be like some people and take a sedan on the beach only to get stuck and cause traffic jams.

The best thing about this place is the annual pass to ALL state parks in Delaware. Its super cheap and let's you drive right past the line of cars waiting to pay the daily $5 rate with credit card, one at a time from an automated teller machine. Stop at the park office and get this pass, it's worth every penny.

The beaches are more in the bay here, so this area is kid-friendly. The waves are calm, so kids are less likely to be knocked down and you can relax without worrying. That said, bathrooms are scarce so check out the park map ahead of time so you know the one place you can find them (bath houses). Meaning, if you park at Herring Point, you are a full mile away from them.

Lastly, parking inside the park is free and is an ideal alternative to pricey beaches nearby.

Beautiful park but...BEWARE OF TICKS!! Myself and my 4, 3, and 1 year old became covered in tiny ticks after hiking the walking dunes trail. We went off trail a few times to explore and may have picked them up there. My son complained of bugs crawling on him and upon examining him, I saw they were ticks...hundreds of them. I also found one adult lone star tick. Myself and my other kids had them too. Please, if you go to this park take precautions to avoid ticks. I still dont know if after picking them of and showering with tick shampoo if we got them all. I would hate for another family to go through this ordeal, especially if you are on vacation.

If you are looking for a totally unique beach experience, this is a great option. Bring your vehicle (and grill) on the beach and enjoy your entire day. For history buffs there is no shortage of WWII military installments and sites to explore. Depending on the season, you can drive from the Lewis entrance to Rehoboth.

Gorgeous parks. There are many trails to walk or bike, which are all very scenic, and a nice view of the ocean, complete with a lighthouse. Also a great spot to fish. Definitely worth a look!

This is my family favorite place to come when we are at the beach. There are so many things to do from swimming and sunbathing to hiking the trails, fishing on the pier or borrowing bikes for a ride, climbing a watch tower or walk the old WW2 fort with old giant cannons. You can always find something to do here regardless of the time of the year. Can't wait to come back again!

My wife and I have been visiting this place for years, and we have camped there twice. I would highly recommend it, as it is only a little over two hours away and is one of the best beaches I've been to in the region! The park is very clean, and because it is so large, there is the ability to find a part of the beach that isn't over crowded with tourists.

The camping is great, very organized and clean campsites, and the check-in process is very easy. We will certainly be back!

Delaware State Parks are awesome. Have always had excellent experiences Last evening was no exception. We enjoyed a camp fire while fishing. Met a Seasonal Ranger who provided fishing tips and quite a bit of knowledge about the park. He answered all our questions I give this young man and all the staff a 10 star rating. Thank you Ranget DeBowls ( I am sure spelling is incorrect ). Nice to know help is always available if needed
