Chewed up and spit out by this company. Over worked? Driving too far? Your fired. Not laid off not moved to a site less then 100 miles away.. no your fired. I tried my best and was put down to a point of depression. I recommend not working for this company for your own sake.

I've been a pipe/tube/orbital Welder going on 10 years & this is the first time I've ever written a review about a company I was employed by. As a female in this line of work I run into a number of obstacles none of which ive not overcome. I always imagined that the work itself was going to be difficult but know I'm a tough chick I'd get it... But The work itself has never been an issue for me, the issue I run into is men in supervision (and some I work with). Most welders weld test and that is proof enough hes qualified for the job, hes cut loose to work. The test gets me through the gate that's it. Once I'm in is when the difficult task begins. Not all men are like this but one that def. is Bryan Davis. After a cple days of doing exactly as asked Bryan approached myself and my partner with nothing but criticism of the work we were doing and the time it was taking us. Not once did he suggest exactly what we weren't doing rt or what he wanted us to do to get the results he expected bc we had already met what he had asked of us. So I asked the other guys doing the same work what a good days work looked like. After asking 4 other pairs fitter/welders what their production was on average and I was welding above 3 out of 4. So it clearly wasn't production but still BRYAN DAVIS complained, again not suggesting what he wanted us to so different. So we worked harder & faster. The following morning by 8 am I had made, documented and numbered 4 quailty welds all inpspected, scoped and signed off on by the QC and continued steady work. BRYAN DAVIS later said that he needed to see results that he thought I might be better suited welding hangers. HANGERS? Bc Bryan wouldn't just be straight forward i decided to go to his office to ask what the issue was. After walking around the question he answer (BRYAN DAVIS) I just don't know what to have you do it's not like I can have you up in the racks making welds, it's hard for the guys to get around up there Its tough I don't expect you to be able to do that. I responded by saying that when I applied for the position I knew what it entailed & that if I wasn't capable of doing my job I wouldn't be there and that I didn't expect to be treated any diff than any other welder there . He said it's all good I'm gonna figure out where i need to put you. I come in this morning at 6 am get ready to test In & Jason the foreman who constantly felt the need to talk down to me said can you get your things we just don't think this is working out? I'm not sure if the entire company discriminates based on gender. What I do know is that one their superintendents BRYAN DAVIS does. When a guy that misses an entire week bc he was in jail and then returned and missed the first Friday back bc he stayed out late partying all night doesn't get fired yet they let me go bc why? Sexual discrimination is against the law. Im almost certain that the EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT AGENCY offers extensive training on that for those who don't offer it..

Great company to work for! The best apprentice program in the trade. Decco employs some of the best fitters and welders in the country. If you show up on time and every work day you will learn something.

DECCO is a company who lives by its mission. They are dedicated to their employee partners, their clients and their industry partners. Additionally, I see first-hand their commitment to the future of the trades through their apprentice and craft training program.
