I've spent some time in Ireland and Scotland, and it doesn't get much more authentic of pub cuisine than this place. Much cheaper than hoping a flight across the pond. Worth the visit.

Recently expanded into the adjacent building. Although they've done a great job of replicating the decor and atmosphere, the new space is bigger and brighter and feels more modern.

If you're looking for that Old NY charm stick to the old side of the bar with it's low ceilings cozy (small) space and low lighting.

Very charming and knowledgeable bar workers!

I know, this is ... Not Kidding ... "The best bar in the world" (James Beard Award, I think).

Know what? It's fine. Dark, decent beer, good DJ. Maybe I just wasn't cool enough to get to the good room upstairs. But ... meh.

Favorite bar since the beginning!

I have been coming to the dead rabbit since it opened and I love it. It s a bit curious that we always have to wait to get to the 2nd floor room, given that there s always extra space, but that s just one of the things I ve grown to accept. The drinks are absolutely divine and they take such care in crafting them and selecting the widest variety of tinctures and butters and syrups and infusions.

Walk into a time warp in this fantastic Irish Pub. All wood and authentic decor. Fantastic Irish pub food. Great prices on drinks and food. Every time we are in the city this is our first stop for a drink. LOVE this place the staff is so welcoming and it is like being in a pub overseas in Ireland

If you're going to be there for a while you need to grab a table and enjoy the ambiance. They offer the coolest bar menu in the form of a comic book. I was glad the service was polite, prompt and helpful. I'm going to go back, but with the intention to continue to taste their mixed drinks.

Really cool place with tons of NYC historic photos and documents. As well, the drink menu is pretty incredible. Let's not forget the saw dust on the floor. Go... You won't be disappointed.

Whenever I'm in New York, this is a must-do. Otherwise my visit feels incomplete somehow. And even though I've had an Irish coffee many times before in all my years of drinking, I always have to have the one they serve here as it's the best ever. No lie. So well-crafted with quality ingredients. I don't care if it's late at night. I'm going to have that coffee drink. The other cocktails are definitely worth checking out as well: complex, unique and delicious. As for service, they've always made me (and the friends I dragged along with me) feel welcome even though I wasn't dressed up or anything. "World's Best Bar," indeed.

I love coming here for lunch. The upstairs is my preference where you can kind of tuck away at the high top table and booth and take your time. The service is pretty slow, there is usually only one server upstairs and they have to go downstairs to get cocktails from the bar, so be patient.

This place has hands down, the best Irish coffee in America. That's not even just my opinion, I think that is a fact. Yummy dishes too, good salads and the lamb pot pie is really delicious. The variety in the menu is kind of disappointing, but I've never been here for anything other than lunch.

Excellent craft cocktails, 2nd floor is a must and definitely worth the wait. Extensive cocktail menu with good food! Try to get there before 6 if you want a table otherwise the wait may be close to an hour if no vacant seats at the bar area. Overall A+

The cocktails are strong but delicious and sitting at the bar watching the cocktails being made is simply memorising! The staff are truly talented. The food is amazing and we only had chips and sliders!
Downstairs bar was very busy and had a good atmosphere but I will definitely make my next visit to the cocktail lounge as $16 for a delicious drink plus the experience/view to watch it with is worth it.

After months of being told by everyone we met that we need to go to the Dead Rabbit, we finally took some out-of-town friends there on a Saturday night. This place is great! All of the cocktails are very creative and, most importantly, delicious. The four of us tried and shared about 15 that night (don't judge ;)) and every one was unique, like nothing you've ever tasted before. I especially enjoyed the Humble Pie from the downstairs bar and the Undercover Cop and Meet & Greet from upstairs.

The food was delicious as well! The standout of the night was oddly enough the chicken fingers under the appetizer list. It was about five large pieces, and the breading and sauce were FANTASTIC. My husband's burger was juicy and came topped with cheddar and bacon. I was jealous of our friend's ham and cheese toastie, which looked like a super indulgent grilled cheese. My chicken pot pie was good, by I wished I had tried the burger or toastie instead.

Pro tip: the French fries, which you will see on the appetizer menu, are a great pick, BUT they also come with all of the sandwiches. We were totally fried out.

"The most negligent security ever don't go there if you don't want to get robbed"
I was there with my friends on Monday after work (March 2017) and already in 20min from our arrival I noticed that my purse that was next to me all the time was stolen. This was an expensive Furla leather bag that had a Macbook Air, a Salvatore Ferragamo wallet, 5 credit cards, cash, IDs and other personal items.
The personnel wasn't helpful at all and even said that I should better try to remember if I came with any purse at all that sounds very inadequate.
I called the police and when they arrived and asked the manager to get the access to the surveillance video, she said she doesn't know the password to the computer. The police filed a report and left without getting any video.
I will never go there again and will never recommend to anybody. It was totally not worth visiting this bar that is absolutely overrated with my total estimated loss of 2,500$ as reported with the police.

Interesting and palette pleasing libations, the Irish coffee was fabulous so were a couple of the other cocktails we shared tastes of! The chicken pot pie was amazing and I also tried a bite of the bangers and mash which was also excellent. Pricey but great comfort food the service was decent and the place was hopping.

(3.5 stars) Service is good but can be spotty when it's busy or the bartenders are tending to regulars. They don't rush you, which can be great if you have time to spare, but bad on a lunch break. Prices are standard for the area and the decor is interesting. Food is consistently delicious. They have multiple levels, but I've only been to the first.

Top notch Irish tavern with well executed food and drinks as well as a large selection of whiskey and such. Slightly on the expensive side, but sti worth the money. Would recommend this place!
