Honestly the woman in the front desk was super nice and my daughters and her friend told me they were nice as well. The wifi was a problem because it wouldn't connect well I don't know why but it was not that big of a deal we shouldn't have been on our phones anyways. Also I liked the rooms it was pretty spacious. The price was fine I would suggest going on days that aren't July 1-4 though... I will definitely come back to this hotel. I hope none of y'all go to another hotel because the other people at the front desk I honestly found them rude. 5 stars over all... But please work on wifi because some people need it .

Zero stars needed. I paid for two double rooms 126, 127 on 05/27/18 for $200 a piece. Beds still had food stuck to sheets and women hair all over sheets. I got there around 11pm and it was storming. I went to front desk to complain and was offered a different room 128 but it was still disgusting. I had my 3 kids so I didn't want to take them back out in the rain because they had showered and only discovered the beds were disgusting after their showers. Bed sheets hadn't been washed. Covers were just made back up after guest left. I feel ripped off. Wish I could've asked for a refund and left but my kids had already showered and it was heavy rain. Would never recommend this hotel and the toilets were disgusting and the air hardly worked. Smell to rooms were horrible. Floors were already wet at arrival. I had took all the dirty sheets off beds and placed them across the floor just to walk and towels too. What a rip off. Dominique at the front desk that night was super amazing and friendly

I will not stay here again due to the lack of a response from the owner to an issue I brought to her attention. First of all, the two ladies who managed the front desk during the day or evening were great. The issue was that our tub would not hold any water. The night guy was not helpful and did not really try to solve our problem. He simply said to plug it with a wash cloth, which dirtied one of our wash cloths. I brought the matter to the attention of the owner via email when I got back home (did not see her while I was there), and she has not yet responded to me.

Just not alot of maintenance upkeep holes in walls, etc.

Staff was very nice. Room was clean and appeared to be recently updated. Very close to the beach and in walking distance to pretty much all the restaurants and shops.

Loved the rooms face-lift, up to date and fresh look, only steps from the ocean and right across the street from a nice restaurant

Pretty good. Went with a group, and mine was the only room of our four that had been updated. It was actually very nice and modern looking.

I was very happy with the fluffy towels and clean tile floors but disappointed with lackluster service, an empty vending machine and a heating/AC unit that never kept any comfortable temperature.

The location is great and they are pet-friendly so I would probably stay again. If they continue updating rooms it will be a much better choice.

Rooms were decent, building seemed to be quite a bit older but the rooms were clean enough and included a microwave and mini fridge, linens were not quite the quality you would expect of a current motel but were sufficient, queen beds were a little short. A/C worked extremely well.
Pool was nice and clean, even had a handicap lift. There was also a shower outside the pool to wash off after visiting the beach, which was only a short walk from the motel! The staff was very helpful and friendly!

P.S. If you are planning on eating dinner on the island, be advised that most places stop serving food at 8 pm currently except for a few bars.

Great place to stay minus no place to hang dry your wet beach belongings.

On the beach but only OK for a night or two. Very small.

The rooms are small, a little dirty, and the showers are extremely small.. However if you're just staying the night to visit the beach it was comfortable and worth the time spent.

Nice place within walking distance of the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom was very very tiny.

Great location. No hot water at 9am. Breakfast was muffins and cereal.

location is PERFECT... 50yardstp the beach. across the street is a bar, fast stationary bike rentals.
beside is the number 1 breakfast place in the island. no laundry. but, smoking rooms and pet friendly... what more do ya need?

We won't be back. So dirty. Smelled like cigarette smoke in our no smoking rooms. I was terrified of bed bugs and could not sleep. Disgusting. There was hair in the freezer. Just terribly dirty and overpriced.

Nice place to stay in. Beach is very close. Room is clean and spacious. Almost cheap. Simple but best for price.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's just a few minutes walk to the beach which is very nice. The stores are close to this Inn ( just minutes away). Free parking which is a plus because you have to pay for parking. Loved our stay here.

The staff is very nice but this place is a dump. Don't waste your time looking at the pictures because what you see will not be what you get is all I'm going to say.

Rooms were clean and well kept! I am handicapped so we had a room that catered to my needs. Shower bars, roomy bathroom , bath stool for tub , very accessible entrance and parking! Friendly service, pool chair lift, salt pool, convenient near by restaurants and a stones throw to the beach! Made this vacation for a handicap person very enjoyable! I highly recommend this hotel and will be going back!!!!

It was clean. The bed was comfy. It's a little run down. Pool was small. They do not clean room till you leave. View was awful. But, it is only a block away from the beach.

Room was clean. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. Convenient to the beach and pier. Walking distance to the turtle center. Breakfast was light but enough to get you started.

They are pet friendly and extremely close to the beach! Reminds me of the motels back home on Cape Cod!

Stay was nice and it was mine from the beach, shopping and food

Didn't get the chance to actually stay (family emergency), but they were extremely accommodating, only charging us for 1 night instead of the 4 nights we had booked. There was sand on the floor when we got into the room, but other than that, the room was nice, a little smaller than most hotel rooms and bathrooms. But was close to the beach and good service.

The location is amazing. We had a slight issue with the first room I offered to fix the issue with their supplies and they were more than happy to move our rooms within 5 minutes . The staff was nothing but nice and housekeeper Angela deserves a raise! She is amazing and super sweet. This was a pit stop for us on our way but so glad we chose this hotel. A 2 minute walk to the ocean and cute shops / restaurants around the corner. My only complaint is the thickness of the doors . Would have preferred more of a buffer between my family and the outside.

BUGS & SAND FLEAS..& WHEN WE STRIPPED THE BED THE MATTRESSES WERE BLOOD STAINED..THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!ALSO VERY SHADY STAFF!!

I was very disappointed about the refrigerator in our room it didn't work we asked to be moved and they offered to move us but to a room with 2 full size beds so we decided to stay with the king and the fridge so after a few minutes of trying to turn it on it work for about an hr then stop so our drinks we bought with us was warm its smelled like fish so thank god I bought some air fresh ....and due to the covid-19 we didn't receive housekeeping which is totally understandable or the breakfast they offer which was cool also it gave us a chance to try the different restaurants but all in all I guess u get what u pay for...

We loved it, we stayed at two different hotels during our visit due to family friends. We had the best stay at this one. We plan to use Sandcastle Inn next time also. The only negative I came up with was parking and wifi issues. There is not enough parking for all rooms so don't arrive late in the evening. You may have to park on the street, just be sure to move your car or feed the meter by 8am or you may get towed. The wifi was the other issue. No matter where I was in the room, the wifi signal was showing as poor, I maybe got connected twice during our stay. Overall it was a great place to stay and plan to again.

The location is wonderful. One block from beach access without having to cross any streets. Conveniently close to everything. Staff is friendly and eager to assist. However, had I been warned before booking or driving 6 hours that the free breakfast that they offer on the website isn't actually a thing anymore since the beginning of covid, the parking is very minimal, there is no housekeeping during your stay, at all, and you are responsible for putting your wet towels out in bags and going to fetch your own clean ones, i would have chose another hotel. Charging the same price for these basic amenities and not including them, isn't cool. If these things aren't available for convenience of guests, take it OFF the price and be upfront before people book. Add it to the website perhaps. Linens are super outdated, but clean except for the box spring covers which are FILTHY. AND I MEAN FILTHY. not sure I even want to know what all of the stains are. Rooms are very small, but cozy for someone who doesn't plan to spend much time in the room. Wifi is pointless, as it slows your phone to dial up speeds. Very few channels on tv and most are fuzzy.

Fantastic pet friendly hotel very close to the beach!! We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Pet fee is by the week not the day and they give your the ground floor if your pet is with you! Super clean and the air conditioning was Antarctic!!!

We have stayed here the past 7 years and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The hotel is very close to the beach, parking and wifi is free. There are places to eat easily within walking distance. The room was clean and the staff friendly.

Wanted to stay positive during my stay and make the best of it but here is what I dealt with . Beware!!!! the pillow had blood stains on it. The mattress protector on box spring was vile with stains and very dirty, the bathroom door had fist holes in it, the maid service never even made one bed at all when she came in to my surprise. The room has so much moisture that it literally left damp coating on everything even our cell phones detected moisture and wouldn't charge. The floors were slippery daily from the weird moisture. The one bed was made with the wrapper from my kids snack left in the sheets, they never took out the trash one day in my sister's room, the rooms all reeked of cigarettes. The drawers smelled like mold and could never be used, the toilet handle to flush was dangling and wouldn't flush without pushing in, the pool is not maintained by a professional and they dump so much chemical that it was totally cloudy couldn't see the bottom for entire visit. There was a totally empty vending machine in lobby, they did have cute mini breakfast daily though. They need to assume better management for addressing the multiple review issues about cleanliness and linens being stained. Ice machine outside my door was so loud all night that it kept us up. They basically put lipstick on a dated property and pictures look better on site than in person. everything in room was dirty and unkept and stunk like smoke or mold. The grout was moldy. Floors were stained. What gets me is the maids saw the blood or stains or broken toilet and ignored it. There was even still urine on the seat when you lifted it at my arrival! To not even make my bed one day is just bizarre. I can deal with low budget but I don't compromise clean. It's not worth complaining to MGMT cause they are aware with the multiple reviews and complaints and nothing is better clearly. Location is incredible. People there are nice. Get rid of every mattress boxspring cover, reface the bathrooms, throw out the moldy dressers, get humidistat ACs, inspect the linens, mop the filthy floors that ruin your socks, fix broken items including doors with massive holes on them, sanitize the air from stale smoke Odor. Get a real pool company in. Fill the vending machine or remove it. Fire the maid who by the wanted to simply flip a mattress when I told her my little child had an accident on it and who suggested I spray Lysol on the dirty blanket rather than her replacing it. Just astounding. I'd go elsewhere. Lots of choices and cleaner options.

Great place for the price. Nice pool, within quick walking distance of restaurants, souvenir shops and pubs. Close to the beach.

We stayed this past weekend at SandCastle in room 104 and we enjoyed it. It was your basic hotel room with two beds & bathroom. It was clean throughout the room. They welcomed our black lab with treats and us every time we came into the front office. Hope your hotel continues to welcome pets. We come to the beach often since we live couple hours away and there are only few hotels on the beach (tybee or myrtle beach) that don't charge huge amounts for having pets. I think we found a new hotel to stay from now on when we go to the beach. I prefer Tybee over MB anyway.

A sandcastle is exactly what you're going to get staying here. It didn't matter how much I dusted the beds off I would end up waking up Sandy.

Clean. Pleasant and helpful staff. Price is right. Beds are comfy! The negative reviews seem like they're coming from unrealistic expectations for a budget beach motel.

I stayed in this hotel with my family we were on vacation and I guess it was something going on in Savannah at the time . But the black house keeping lady was very rude came in the room saying I'm glad u black young ass people leaving now I can put all our new stuff back in the room ,never have I felt race was a promblem but this really put not on a bad mood I then said I'm not going to let this woman disrespect me and my kids and my husband ,she also was rude to several other people .I understand that some people can be real crazy and it's not just blacks as she was trying to state it was it's all colors .I had just spent several days at jelki island and it was great the hotel staff was awesome and respect ful I enjoy my self in Tybee island but I payed all most 390 dollars for one night I checked in at 9 on check out was 12pm that was ok but to pay this much money and be disrespected against my color is asurd.I did soeak to the front desk and spoke how I felt she said they were having something in Savannah and that act crazy I'm not a teenage girl I'm in my late 39s I don't come no where to at like that I'm a responsible church going woman I also dress and carry my self as such .I really want to speak with the owner they told me that's not possible when I called this morning he doesn't speak to no one

Great place. The night clerk, Melinda was the friendliest and most helpful I have ever seen working in the lodging business. She was so honest she brought us back money that had stuck to another bill that we would have never would have known where it went. Melinda has a great personality and customer service. The management needs to keep her and promote her no matter what it takes. Thank you for your honesty and help.

We checked in last night and when we got to our room, we very quickly checked right back out. Room smelled awful and didn't seem very clean at all.

1st room refrigerator didn t work supposedly came in and fixed it but they didn t. We got changed to another room where we found blood on the pillow case and sheets, plus sand in the bed. Very disgusting & rude employees.

Rooms are a little dated. Floor stayed wet. Did not feel comfortable. Will not stay again lost me as a guess yuk

Rooms need to be upgraded floors carpets need to be changed and better cleaned

Rooms are beautiful. Thin walls but, no big deal. Breakfast is decent. Pools is great. Prices are some of the best in the area. Would come again.

Love the location! Great service, very kind and friendly staff. Room service was quick at getting the room cleaned and beds made. Parking lot in the back is a bit tight but is doable. :) Rooms were nice. A.C. keep the room cold witch I love! Will deft come again.
