I was impressed with the atmosphere. On the day I went the place was a bit busy and chaotic. The line was out the door and no one to greet you or let you know how long the wait was going to be. I didn't have any place else to be, so I didn't mind the wait. The food was good, the waitress was attentive. I will probably eat there again and would certainly recommend my friends to go there is they are ever in the St Paul area.

My son really liked his breakfast burrito. My scrabbled eggs were just eggs, my toast was burnt, and the coffee was not good at all. The service was wonderful though and it's a fun environment.

Went to Day By Day for Sunday brunch after my wedding. We called about a week or two in advance, and we were able to reserve a private room that accommodated a large group (the room looked like it could seat about 40). Good service, tasty food, and a nice laid back atmosphere. We loved it!

This place has a very unique and quaint feel. It has a very nice little outdoor area out back which was a perfect place on a nice weather day. We had breakfast on our visit and it was average but good average I'd say. I would definitely return if I was in the area again. We are glad we tried it.

Meh.

We go the Day by Day Cafe every time we visit the Twin Cities. The location is great with antique and specialty shops nearby. The food is very good, the service friendly and attentive, and the prices reasonable.

I use to like the day by day but the last couple times has been bad food and service. I use to go here all the time for breakfast. The last time. slow service rude waitress. Then did not bring me the right order and when I sent it back she said that is what I ordered. I had to laugh and say to her I think not as I hate eggs benedict and would never order it. She then said what do you want very rudely. I said my check for the coffee. coffee was 2.29 I dropped 2 dollars on the table and walked out. I WON'T BE BACK !

This place has the best outdoor patio I've experienced. Food was great and so was the service. Simple food done well. Definitely a great place to grab a bite when the weather is nice. The indoor seating looks cozy as well.

Delicious food. A great brunch spot.

Also, John Cena was playing on the speakers, and one of the waiters was humming along. Made my day.

This cafe is very cute! The workers are kind and speedy. Aesthetic is comforting; no harsh lighting and is generally clean. There is outdoor seating too, which I recommend. The area outside is very cute and has a fish pond. There are books you can read all along the shelf inside. The food selection is great.
Fun fact: Day by Day cafe hires people recovering from substance/drug abuse! The owner had seen how hard it was to get a job while he, himself, was struggling with drug recovery. This job has helped a lot of people.

Great!

If you're looking for comfort food at reasonable prices, this is your spot. I absolutely love the patio when the weather is decent. The water sounds are soothing and the trees and plants provide not only shade but visual stimulation. Service is good, wait staff aren't annoying and provide good service. This place is a favorite!

Have been coming here since it opened long ago and never had anything other than a fantastic meal. Took my mother here on Sunday and she said it was the best French toast she ever had, and she's 94 and eaten ALOT of French toast.

This was a welcoming, bustling little cafe. The staff was friendly and they seem to attract the same in their guests. My children and I are excited to go back to try lunch as breakfast was great even with a vegetarian meat substitute available.

There was not anywhere to park, the foodand service is good, they have mostly just havr booths, but do have some counter seating. Its a pretty inviting atmosphere, the decor is that of your eccentric antique loving auntie. (Everything's interesting but oddly matched/situated)

Great breakfast stop, clean place with eclectic atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered the tofu veggie scramble with whole grain toast and the buckwheat pancakes. Everything was fresh and made from scratch! The menu seemed to offer something for everyone.

"I feel like I don't need to go back" is a good way to sum up the experience. My partner and I ordered the chicken burrito, the walleye sandwich, and a cup of coffee. None of which were particularly impressive for the price point. The walleye sandwich was ok flavorwise. It looked like it had been over fried or fried in old oil. Either way not a good look. The burrito was bland, nothing about it stood out in a way that I would expect from a restaurant. You're friend's mom probably made the same thing in high school. Overall, middling experience and wouldn't recommend over other options in the area.
