We were looking for a new breakfast place to take our friends to and came across this cafe. It has both inside and outside seating. We sat outside and it was a beautiful morning and the food was great.

We arrived at this spot for dinner. we heard about this place from quite a few people. Well, it was a winning. The crew were very polite and we felt excellent. The food was just great. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Warmly recommended.
I spilled our coffee there and the waitress says it happens all of the time. I will take the blame because it is part user error, but would maybe consider different carafe if this a recurring issue. Kind of divey, ecclectic vibe. The corned beef hash was very tasty.
A long time favorite of mine. Great coffee, plenty of variety on the menu and everything I've had is tasty. They offer extras like avocado, real maple syrup and daily specials.
I've been here twice now. The first time I had amazing food and service, but today was crazy. The food was delicious, and the server was very nice and personable, but it was extremely frustrating to get our food several minutes after a table that came after us did, (same server) then to have to wait twenty minutes after we finished to get the ticket, then our server disappeared before taking our money (which I had ready), and we had to wait another ten minutes! The party that came after us had left long before we finally made it out, and we did have children with us who were fortunately good, but were so tired of waiting. I will definitely come back, however, because the food and atmosphere make it worth the trip, and I do know they were busy. So hit and miss I guess... bottom line great food, and the first time the service was excellent!!!
The waiter stole my cellphone the last time I dined at this restaurant with my family. This place use to be my favorite Saturday morning breakfast place.
Sad that I moved away. I went here probably 2 times a week and never got tired of it. The back patio is spacious and has a koi pond in the center that is a great conversation starter piece. I mean it's diner food you really can't go wrong. Get yourself the early bird with some bacon and have a good morning coffee!
The food was mediocre and over priced. Unless you are paying your employees a living wage, $10 for yogurt and granola is too much. My companion ordered tofu scramble and it was under cooked and not at all scrambled. Maybe the lunches are better, but the breakfast was not worth the price. Service was as mediocre as the food, slow and inattentive.
I have eaten here several times over the years. Food is consistent. Service is great. Fast too! I stopped in today and had my food in 5 mins. Great way to start my day!
Food is below average. My hash browns tasted freezer burned. Ish. The service was very good and the decor is cute and kitschy. I wanted badly to like this place. Maybe I'll try again.
My daughter and I went there for breakfast Saturday Jan 30th on our way to watch hockey at the x. We waited at the "please wait to be seated" sign for 8 minutes as 11 staff members went by and not one of them even acknowledged our presence. Finally I stopped one of them and had to beg for service. The food was good but very pricey for breakfast we spent $37 dollars for two with a couple cups of coffee. To top it all off no one thanked us as we left or even acknowledged we were there. There are better places at 1/2 the money close by, next time I'll go there. We deserve better!
This is a great place to stop in for lunch or anytime. The people are always nice and the food very good. This has been a favorite place I've gone to with my Mom for a number of years now.
I used to love this place but I won t go there again. We waited in their lobby over 15 minutes as a line formed snaking out the door. Most of the tables were open but none of the workers could be bothered to seat anybody. Two workers at least said something but then went away without seating anyone. Not understanding the holdup I asked if we could just take the open booth ahead of us as we were next which was meet w a very rude No! You have to wait! No, actually, I don t and didn t and won t be visiting them again.
The look of the place is just wonderful. It has a super cool feel to it and you can also sit outside in the beautiful back yard. I would go back here just for the look/feel of place..luckily, they also have great food with really good portions!
The Day by Day is a 7th St institution. A great place to meet friends and family and eat a delicious home cooked breakfast / lunch and get your money s worth. I always feel home when I return to Day by Day.
Amazing breakfast! Solid pricing and delicious. Lots of room, unique atmosphere, the works. Would highly recommend if you like a wide variety of breakfast foods.
The back patio with the fountain into the koi pond was a great place to sit. The food was excellent. Service could be a little quicker but the servers are very friendly.
Very good place! Went to brunch with a friend as we passed through town. I love their vision and mission, and you ve got to try their French toast. As my friend said, it s very...French. Served with fancy cut slices of baguette and a good tasty egg wash.
I'm not sure what the rage is because the food isn't good. I had biscuits and gravy which I would give 2/5. My wife had eggs Florentine which she would give 3/5. Toast had way too much "butter" and the hash browns were both too done and too raw at the same time. The food came quick and the outdoor patio is nice, otherwise it was a pretty abysmal meal.
Bland food, slow service. The chicken burrito took a half hour to arrive and had zero seasoning - it was literally just bits of soggy chicken and tomatoes in a wrap. Oh, and they re a dry restaurant, so you can t even wash the crappy food down with a corona.
Food was delicious I have not enjoyed a breakfast like this in a long time! Most definitely the hottest breakfast I have devoured. Cannot wait to come back and enjoy some more imackulant dishes! Thanks for the speedy service and wonderful experience.
I had eggs, hashbrowns and ham. The hashbrowns were burnt and had no flavor. The ham had more fat on it than actual ham. The eggs were the only good part.
The armosphere was whimsical and fun. My eggs were great and the steak was a good temp but needed a harder sear. The biscuits tasted just ok, like they were baked yesterday or the day before and everything needed a little bit of salt and pepper.
But, best hashbrowns I've ever had in my life and the food came out so fast! Service was decent and everyone was pleasant and welcoming. I will be back!
This cafe is really a gem of the city! Every time I go there, the staff are so friendly, helpful about food choices, and sincerely care about us young families that attend this location. The food is always worth the money. And it's never too expensive! This cafe has that laid back charm- they don't take themselves too seriously (it's not all steel and destressed wood). Fun toys and things to look at inside for the family! Comfortable seating. You MUST eat outside on the back patio- beautiful!!
Day by Day is my favorite breakfast joint. You pretty much can't go wrong, and their specials are usually excellent. (Their coffee is just OK, but it has caffeine.)
