Anyone who's lived in Austin for awhile knows how much it has changed, and how rapidly. Unfortunately, from the perspective of many folks, it's got to the point where that's often not a positive thing. So, when you find someplace that embodies some of Austin's roots, you want to tell folks about it... and hope it continues to be that way. Not all that glitters is gold. Sometimes the diamonds are in the rough.

Don't expect the Taj Mahal and you won't be disappointed. This place is all about the Austin music vibe and improving yourself as an artist. It's not fancy. It's real. The outside is unassuming. It's off a busy section of 290 that - if you've lived in the area awhile - you know is in transition from semi-rural to I Don't Know What - very typical of many parts of the South Austin metro these days.

This is a recording studio and performance locale. Great place for workshops and practice. Don't let the outside fool you. The guts of this place is worth your time. Multiple settings, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of equipment. Founded by the drummer of a band that made it big, this is the real deal. I for one am so glad we have Orb here in Austin. It's low-key, affordable, and a gem.

I've known these artists for nearly 20 years. It's a testament to them on how solid of a work ethic they possess. Only the highest standards, should be their tagline.

The vibe here is the most important and influental thing I've experienced. Along with top of the line equipment, I've been thrilled with how easily creative ideas flow and the relaxed get away atmosphere here.

When it comes to recording studios, one might hope for at least a clean and functional facility. Orb has that and more in spades. A beautifully designed space that encourages creative process is at hand when you use this studio, and the equipment available is top notch. Everyone working there from top to bottom is knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and talented in their field. A great spot to record.

Gorgeous, history built in. Areas to relax whole recording is happening. Multiple studios to get the job done. Call for tours.

Orb is a phenomenal place to record. The knowledge and experience of the staff and owners makes this studio hands down the best in town. Can not say enough about these guys and their love for great music, good vibes, and helping artists make their best work.

Anywhere is better that 512Studios. Bunch of unprofessional s and cheap hire.

In July I came to Orb planning to record vocals and be on my way. That session transformed my understanding of professionally recorded music and what happens when expert engineers are placed in the same room as the musician.

I have since booked 6+ Sessions with Victor, and they have all been an amazing experience. Victor matched the level of commitment and passion I have towards my project. He is a joy to work with and has THAT sound. He's got patience and pushes you to give your best performance. He knows when you're flowing and will just let that tape roll when so, and on the flip side will offer guidance if you're struggling.

The work flow is effortless! The sounds and vocal chains coming out of this place are top-tier. Let me sum this up: Book a Session at Orb- you will come out the other side with an elevated song.

Jaun Lopez always takes amazing care of our band Grand Child the last couple years! Studio equipment is top notch. Love playin arcade in between takes. Sounds is amazing.

First time experiencing anything like that. Great energy and outstanding quality. Had Victor as our producer and he did an awesome job and made my team feel comfortable and capable. Best recording session ever ! Thanx guys

Technical problems held us up for 30 min and it wasent returned to me at the end. Very disappointing and unprofessional. On top of that I didn t bring anybody into the studio because I simply wanted to be alone and be focused. The engineer brought in 3 interns made the whole hour and a half (paid for 2) cringing worthy. There is better places for less believe me. Only thing that I loved here was the scenery but what good is the scenery of CS is subpar?

I've worked with these guys a couple of times. I'm not a recording artist myself, but set up a couple of sessions for a friend who was. CB was outstanding to work with. Very friendly, helpful, and flexible. My friend had a great experience as well. The engineer he worked with knew exactly how to capture the vision in his mind, and the result was fantastic. Top-notch place.
