I really love our library. I did the Read One Program this year and it was magnificent. I love just going and reading in this building. The staff is really helpful.

Tons of books and lots of people there if you need help
A good rested of our free time to share here ... a suggestion I would like to learn English and I teach you Spanish ..
We love our library! They always have great kid events. Very friendly staff. Easy to get info & check out.
I was in the computer room today and there was a man talking loudly and in a very hostile way on his phone to someone and this was very disturbing. I asked Sean if he could say something to this man but he would not. This loud and disturbing phone conversation (from a man at another computer) went on for about 5 minutes, with staff refusing to say anything. When the man got off the phone, I heard Sean only tell him to keep his mask on if he uses the phone and nothing else. And then the man got on the phone again, again talking loudly and in a hostile way (clearly arguing with someone) and again Sean said nothing. Although I and another woman complained about this loudly to Sean, he was indifferent to our complaints and still did nothing. It's obvious to me this staff person, Sean, shouldn't be working there to not take care of a problem in the computer room, as he did not. He disrespected everyone in the computer room by his refusal to take care of this problem, which could have been taken care of without security, if staff just talked to this man, which they refused, There's something wrong with this situation and these staff people who ignore disturbances like this shouldn't work in the computer area at all, since they clearly don't make good choices nor do they show respect to quiet patrons, as they should.
Love, love this library! So lucky to have a library of this stature living in a town the size of Columbia!
Columbia is so lucky to have a librarian like Melissa Carr. She's a visionary who has kept our library relevant in a time when everything is going digital.
Great library. All the facilities needed: study rooms, computers, quiet spaces, kid's section, etc. Cheap used book sales. Very wide selection of books.
My favorite spot is the quiet room, hidden a little in the north east corner of the building. Beautiful room and views from the windows.
Columbia has a fantastic library with 3 floors. Top floor has a great space with abdolute silence, tables, lamps, plug ins for electronic devices, couches and chairs plus a nice view. Great environment to relax, study, read, etc. Lots of bike parking as well!
It's very dark at the computers on. I've never seen a library with so little light where you need it. Plenty of light in the hallways and at staff desks and in kids' area but where adults sit and read and work and at the public computers, it's dark! There needs to be more light and it does not come in amply enough thru windows which someone probably thought it would. It does not. It's dark at the computers. There needs to be more ceiling lights put in above the public computers.
Beautiful library! Huge book selection to choose from, great location, and plenty of other services to entertain yourself with. Parking is scarce though! It is also a fantastic place to study when you must avoid distractions.
The couch smells atrocious and the internet is bad. The smarmy nu male librarian could use an attitude adjustment.
The people are always friendly, courteous, helpful and (just as important) available.
They always appear to go the extra mile when you need it. Being handicapped and finding it difficult to walk at times, this is greatly appreciated.
I always enjoy coming to the Daniel Boone Regional Library. They have great activities for children all year around. The employees are always very helpful and friendly. they also have a great classes for adults sometimes they are free.
Beautiful place, when I came to Columbia I couldn't believe that a city of this size had a library this good. Wonderful place, Wonderful staff, clean and a nice atmosphere.
This library is exceptional! So many books and extra copies for kids. I love the little things they do for the kids. Their website is very user friendly if you just want to go the pickup route.
We are so incredibly fortunate to have such a great library here serving our community. The Columbia Public Library is an often overlooked gem of our city.
It's easier to buy Sudafed than to get a book out of this library.
The library is beautiful inside and out! It's designed with beautiful light flooding in through massive walls of windows, it's quite stunning!
We live this library. Staff is always friendly and helpful!
Have been coming here for years..never had a bad experience. The kids always love it especially the play area and programs. If only I lived next door!
A gem of a library. Pleasant people, astounding views.
The library has such wonderful people working there. Great place to take your children!
I work for Fry-Wagner moving and storage, and right now we are shifting things around so they can replace the carpeting. Keep up the awesome work!!!!
This is an awesome library but one time a guy tried to fight me.. that was weird.
Huge library. Lots of room. Quiet study areas for students.
A wide variety of books, literature, music, and many other educational needs.
This is a wonderful library. They have a full 3 floors of books and materials. They keep current books in their collection and they have a very friendly staff.
Awesome library! They have everything you could ask for. Lots of setting. Computers for adults and kids. And of course all of the books
The staff are extremely helpful. The building is very clean. The atmosphere is comfortable. Book selection is awesome and if they don't have a book you're looking for the staff will try to borrow it from another facility
I love this library too much. Excellent staff and everything. Also good for kids.
It's my favorite library. I live over 100 miles away but I go everytime I visit my kids who l live nearby or whatever. They have so many choices of books, stuff that our local library never carries. And you can recheck items out online for 3 times total.
So glad we can come in...thanks workers! Made our Friday night
Very nice library both in substance and appearance. Employees are top notch especially Tom.
It was great and awesome job socal distance and making sure everyone keep their mask.
This library should be open by now. I think the library/city are saving money by keeping it closed, I predict when the $600 a month federal payments stop, then the library will open.
I love this Library and it's multiple ways to go upstairs but they are steep so be careful when you want to take smaller children up them for safety reasons!!! Take the elevators to be safe !!
Excellent selection, and programs! Check out the red reading box for kids!!!
Fabulous library. I'm a psychotherapist. I also, have a degree in Evidence. MA in law. They helped me with one of my test; I had to take next day because, of explanation was awesome and helpful . I got a hundred percent.
Excellent public library. Grab a book and find a comfortable spot to sit and read in the third-floor quiet room. If you have kids, take them to the children's area on the main floor. They can play with educational toys, browse the kid-sized stacks and pick their own reads.
Lovely place, with amazing selection of books, CDs, and DVDs.
Maybe having a live and loud orchestral performance at a library, especially right beneath the quiet room is not a good idea? I came here to study and was hoping to have some silence. The performance was so loud it could be heard from all over the library. I had to leave when a homeless man cursed at me in the quiet room to turn off the music because he thought it was coming from me. Libraries are places for reading, studying, and silence. Not orchestral concerts. I appreciate classical music but not when it's very loud and I'm trying to study.
Amazing kits to tale home with toys, rentable tablets, multi cultural storytime, great selection of books, graphic novels, magazines, music, movies, everything! And it's a lovely place to boot.
Plenty of books.
Easy to issue book loan.
Quiet and cozy place
It is just great for single ppl to families there. Something for everyone and self checkout is easy if you are in a hurry! But the staff are very helpful l enjoy every visit but end up with more than what I went for but knowledge is power!!!
Visiting from Tennessee. HUGE library! And awesome, quiet, large study areas with a nice outside view.
Columbia Public library is an amazing resource for the community. The staff is freindly and helpful, the facility is first class and the collection is fantastic for a city of Columbia's size.
I went in to p/u one book I had on hold. Walked out with 4 books! I'm so happy the library is open. You can never have too many books to read!
We LOVE our library! The children s space is fantastic and their programs are very well done. Thank you for being a great asset to the community.
DBRL is a great place to visit and beyond its already huge physical collection of books, there are a ton of e-books available as well. Really relaxed atmosphere with a lot of seating, with a casual atmosphere on the first floor and a more quiet study-oriented one on the second. As a bonus, the building itself is beautiful, and it's not stereotypically dark and dusty at all- dusty maybe, but there are plenty of large windows.
I love this library and have come here several times a month ever since I moved to Columbia nearly 20 years ago. Now that I have kiddos, I find the library has even more to offer. We've enjoyed the One Read program and the Summer Reading program for kids (and the staff in the children's area is fantastic!). I also love the new Hoopla service for streaming video and music. DBRL is a gift to our community. Thank you for all you do!
Beautiful library. There is a place for everyone. There are so many books. Even with Covid they are having peopke be able to get books and make library cards! I am very happy eith this library. They also do book sales sometimes. You can pay some change and get a book! It also supports the library! Love it there.
One of my favorite places. I like to use the quiet room on the third floor to study and enjoy the view. It feels amazing up there.
Cooperative staff, helpful to meet members request.
It is a wonderful place to take children, great atmosphere
An outstanding facility with great staff and incredible academic resources. However, there is a there is a significant lack of food and beverage options. A simple vending machine would be a great addition
It's frigid cold in this library on the second floor. I can hardly stand to stay in here. Whatever the temp is on, it's too cold!
Regarding the artwork on the wall in the children's area by John Loving III, it is nice but regarding the plaque next to it that gives praise to Harbor House for assistance, I object to this. Harbor House/Salvation Army management hates people who need to sleep on the cot and recently changed the temperature required for them to be allowed to do so from 40 degrees to under 35 degrees overnight, because they don't like them and obviously don't want them around. They won't let cot people shower when they come, although there are bathrooms available for this, and then they're ridiculed and disrespected if they stink. If there is a bed available in a room, Harbor House management won't even tell a cot person this but will let them leave in the morning (and possibly not let them come back for days until it turns colder) and not even telling them there's a bed available and allowing them to be a resident. Management recently put a sign on the front door telling cot people they cannot smoke anywhere on the property, not even outside on the property, although residents are allowed to. It's very obvious Harbor House/Salvation Army management does not like cot people, homeless people who need shelter, and, because of this, they don't deserve the praise that Mr. Loving gave them.
I prefer a quiet library and hope they won't have musicians play on Sundays, as they sometimes do.
The staff at this location are usually helpful & kind, but there have been a handful of employees that were the opposite when I've come by to check-out books & even when I've made phone calls to ask about events.
Amazing library! Great staff, huge selection, lots of multimedia available. Highly recommend the children's play bags that they categorize by age appropriate levels.
Employees are nice, so are there games, but they don t have enough copies of some books, sometimes only having one copy of a book.
Awesome library! I have been going here since it was opened when I was a child. They have a large number of internet browsing computers which has been a lifesaver for me in the past.
The library here in Columbia is amazing. They have everything you could possibly want AND coffee shop! The staff are super helpful and attentive and the selection is amazing. I can put something on hold and I will get it within days of requesting. They have the best book club kits too. You can pick a book from their list and they will provide you with up to 13 copies of the book and guided questions for the book you select. I've never had a library do this for me before. It's a great hub for community activities and programming.
Dear Daniel Boone Regional Library
I want to be email every Day
They sell ear bud headphones for $.75. Cheap as all get out, made up for them not having headphones to leans out.
Great selection of books. Great programs for children and adults during non covid times. Our community is fortunate to have this resource!
We make a stop here nearly every time we are in Columbia. Great selection and options fort different media.
Great staff Great place to receive info on resources calm atmosphere
Only good for short visits. Reminds me of a check point on those sci fi movies minus the armed guards
