We went there to have a good time in front of one (of) beers. They were of quality, despite a temperature a little warm for my taste. A very nice atmosphere, albeit a bit noisy (British mode). The other guests seemed to be enjoying their meals.

Good choice of wines and beers yet not the best value when it comes to price per pint in a student district. Attentive staff and the food is pretty good. The tables are well appointed (you can have a good conversation without having to shout over the music). The WiFi could be better.

Curlers' Rest. One of the oldest bars on Byres Road, this pub does what it says on the tin. Staff are attentive and friendly and there is plenty of comfortable seating. Prices are reasonable. Use to be very much a students bar and still is to some extent given proximity to Glasgow University, but weekends see a very mixed clientele. Good food. Well worth a visit.

Went for Sunday Lunch. I know it has rave reviews but I would say just decent pub grub. The pork belly I had was not nice, skin soft and fat nasty and tasteless. But good veg well cooked and nice dessert. Wife had fish and chips and said good fish but poor batter. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Just don't expect too much

I've only been here for drinks before, but was pleasantly surprised by the interior. I had expected it to be much smaller than it was, didn't realise there was an upstairs too. Drinks were fine, usual selection and reasonably priced. It is very popular and does get very busy at the weekend so means you could be waiting at the bar for a while. However apart from that no other complaints.

Nice relaxed friendly atmosphere, food on offer all day. A good selection of draft and bottled beers. Children welcome and so a couple of family groups among the clientele. Big and spacious, so never chaotic.

On arrival we were met by a member of staff who showed us to our table. We were informed that it was table service. We ordered our drinks, food a few minutes later. The sausage and mash was very tasty 3 good sized pork and haggis sausages with a good helping of mash potato and gravy. The curlers burger was also fantastic. 2 flame grilled burgers with bacon and cheese with a side of fries and onion rings.

Afterwards we tried the sticky toffee pudding. One was with ice cream the other with custard. Have to say it was fantastic. I would come back to the curlers rest again and again.

I came here because it seems to have good reviews but my experience suggests they're undeserved.

It's a nice pub and the beers are good but the Sunday roast is decidedly under par.

Where to start? Despite being overcooked the vegetables and the meat were lukewarm. Portions are mean, Three small roasties, a few peas, some tired carrots and a couple of parsnips hidden under a few slices of dry overcooked beef is not worth 13 quid. The Yorkshire was reasonable but again insubstantial. I will likely need to pick up a sandwich from Sainsbury's on the way back.

I was on the verge of sending it back but I'm English and have yet to master the increasingly necessarybart of complaining.

Yet again I find myself wondering why anyone would over pay for a meal that would be cheaper and better from Weatherspoons. They usually have a better selection of well kept beers at keener prices too.

Too dark and the food is a bit poor for what you pay for it. I also personally am not keen on being served food on chopping boards. The tables also needed a good wipe down and the food when served is invariably cold.

A solid local pub with a good selection of cask ales as well as modern craft beer usually including some IPAs. It has a very cozy traditional atmosphere. The food is OK, but not something I get excited for.

Reading through the reviews made me a bit unsure but im 5 mins in and most of the bad reviews ring true. The toilets are very smelly the beer selection is very poor! They mention in another comment you can have a pint of glasgows finest... what would that be cause there is no Tennants on tap and the beers on tap are over priced. Ill stay for a bit as im at a party then ill go back to a decent pub in glasgow town where they have a more varied selection and more reasonable prices and the toilets definitely cant be any worse!

Great to read so many positive reviews about The Curlers and so pleased that it s still thriving.

Used to be our local when we lived off the Byres Road. Whiled away many a happy hour there (before happy-hours were invented).

Will endeavour to get back there soon for a visit.
