I don't want to bash an establishment but.... I usually use the sisters at Kelvingrove for my Sunday meal..
now I can cook very well so I know for e.g the potatoes that curlers are known for were not hand-cut. They were from frozen, my chicken was probably also thawn out from package and cooked, left and reheated. It was that dry. the taste in that process is quite distinctive(I can't be sure but I'm pretty confident it was somewhat similar to my guess) 'PIGS' IN 'BLANKETS' is a plural I had a single cocktail sausage in a bit of bacon. Honestly couldn't taste the ginger in the 'ginger bread' stuffing the chicken gravy was.. it certainly wasn't made from fresh chicken stock.(to be fair they don't claim that either, but I kind of expected it).

Sob story I know but I miss my grandmother's Sunday roasts so I get very nostalgic and I'm filled with happiness if the meal is bang on. If it's as bad as it was today it seriously effects my mood, puts me on quite a downer.. also my daughter's cod fish was over fried and just a little bit warm which doesn't make sense. I'm sorry but this wasn't a good experience today.

(::I did mention the chicken from the beginning to the lady that was serving but I was so hungry I didn't want to wait for another
Dish to be prepared so I just filled myself up with potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.)

Great pub with lovely atmosphere and super food. We popped in for supper and had an excellent bangers and mash. The beer selection is extensive and there is a compact but well thought out wine list. We liked the dark decor and subdued lighting with cosy corners. It was pretty full but still we could have a quiet conversation. Staff were everything they should be, it feels like a well run ship. Well done!

one of our favourite venues Brad, Dan and Claire are always most welcoming hosts. Very busy and popular place for meet ups, can highly recommend Curlers although weekends can be exceptionally busy

Lovely food and very friendly staff. A cozy place to sit, have a drink and dinner in the face of some chilly Glaswegian Spring weather! Also very hospitable to our dog - very much appreciated.

Great food and drink and lovely staff. Curlers still attracts the slightly unhinged though - I'm not talking loveable west end eccentrics here but the actually dangerously deranged. But maybe we were just unlucky on the day.

So, my girlfriend and I have been coming here since we moved to Glasgow 7 years ago, it was always one of those places where the bar staff never seemed to give a damn and had definitely never been trained. Pints would be short measured, and dumped down in front of you so they spilled everwhere, or worse, would be passed to you by someone using a pincer grip so their fingers were grabbing the drinking edges of the glass, which is just scummy. I stopped ordering whisky there as it always came with ice added, even when I said 'no ice please', I mentioned this I once and the barmaid stuck her fingers into the glass and pull the ice out. Another time when I asked for water for a whisky I had the glass snatched away and then had the glass handed back to me filled to the brim with water. The bar person walked away before I could say anything. We kept on going back as we loved the burgers, we just made sure we ordered drinks that were easy to pour. About a year (plus) ago things changed. The barstaff seemed able to serve drinks and they were polite! This was brilliant we thought, shame it didn't last.

The last time I was here, the barman argued with me over whether a real ale was cloudy or not, when he poured my replacement and it cleared immediately he continued on telling me it might take ten minutes for some beers to clear, I smiled, said thank you and went off to drink the replacement thinking 'Why argue, it's not your profit mate'. The best thing you can do for a business is promote goodwill amongst customers, this encourages repeat custom, and promotes good word of mouth, being petty and vindictive towards your customer just gets poor Google reviews.

So, my girlfriend and I went in today to get a Sunday roast. Over an hour later, it arrived. I was ready to leave after 45mins, but my girlfriend was hungry and didn't want the hassle of trying to get money back. We weren't warned it would take so long, nobody came and checked on us in the meantime and apologised for the wait, nothing. When we got the food we both decided that enough was enough with this place. The food was awful, dry, dry meat, greasy potatoes and veg and the worst part was the braised red cabbage which had so much star anise in it, it flavoured everything on the plate. How do I know there was too much star anise (apart from the flavour), well we both found 2 whole star anise per plate, if was meant as garnish please try something else. We have walked home feeling like we've eaten aniseed balls and have drank a pint of cheap cooking oil. After 7 years of putting up with lots of little niggling doubts about the Curler's Rest we're finally giving up. Don't make our mistake, steer clear.

A cosy atmosphere for a large pub. The menu is simple but executed very well. The sirloin Sunday roast is perfection and the red wine jus over the huge Yorkshire pudding was heaven. I will be coming back often.
