We hired CSS Chopper based on so many glowing Google reviews. But after working with the CSS Chopper team in Nov 2019, I simply have to add a more realistic rating to these reviews so you can go into working with them with lowered expectations.
Bluntly, CSS Chopper was the most painful part of a very long launch process for us. Working with them made us sorely miss the coding team we used to work with (and to whom we'll be returning).
There are countless examples of how they failed at each turn throughout the project - from project management to accepting payments (why are they making something simple so hard) to the product they delivered - but here's a really clear one:
We didn't ask for any animations on the sales page they coded for us.
But they animated literally every single line of text and every single graphic on the page.
When we emailed to ask them to remove the animations... they wrote back with, and I quote:
"Response: Extra Scope task"
As in, removing the animations they added that we never wanted was, for them, out of scope.
To hit our launch date, I had to take two developers off their software build in order to fix the work CSS Chopper messed up. If I'd have known, I would have just had my developers build it instead (but they're on software with a grant and, as such, are never supposed to work on projects not related to that grant).
Now you may ask, "Well didn't CSS Chopper try to fix it?"
In fact, the day after I emailed them to ask how that could possibly be out of scope and to explain that my developers had to fix their mistakes... they wrote to me with new files where their errors were fixed. Even though I'd already told them my own team had done the work.
They fixed the mistake *after* it was already fixed. So that they'd get paid.
Why not fix the mistake before? Especially since these are mistakes THEY created.
We won't be using them again. And if you value quality product and good service, I would recommend you look elsewhere. If your expectations are low, you've come to the right place.
