Crossroads Kitchen Review

My first visit. The dishes were as good as any other really fine restaurant and fabulous in flavor and variety. Vegan brilliance.

Extremely overpriced, low quality low portions. I highly regret coming here and will never come back.

Every item ordered was amazing. I kept asking my husband if it was vegan.

As a card carrying carnivore....this place is nothing short of amazing. I had the burger which is one of the best burgers in Los Angeles (albeit a bit on the small side). The burger along with the meatball sub will make you question if veganism can actually be a worthy lifestyle. I also love the full bar with 'tenders that can actually make great drinks. I can't recommend this place enough for diners of every sort.

We had the spicy meatball pizza, crab cakes and key lime pie, and it was super yummy! I'm gonna dream about that pie tonight Great ambience and happy servers! Im definitely coming back here! Really wanna try their lunch, brunch and bar menu as well

Fantastic vegan selection in an elegant setting with high level service. Not kept waiting and felt welcomed and warmed by the atmosphere. A great spot. The squash blossoms, I can still remember them.,

My husband and went for our Anniversary and everything was amazing! Every dish we ordered was so tasty and delicious. The service was outstanding. We will definitely back for more.

I'm not sure how to truely rate cross roads. Went at noon on a Friday. Found parking easily, went in was asked if we had a reservation and since we did not we could be seated, but only for one hour. It was a beautiful space, upscale with linens and mood lighting. The menu was sparse. We ordered one pasta dish, the impossible burger, the club, the caan sandwich and a side of mac n cheeze since we get one anywhere vegan to compare. We liked the impossible, the club and the pasta dish very much. The mac n cheese is more like a Mac n butter sauce, and not thick and creamy mac n cheeze. And the caan was nothing special. The biggest issue is the disconnect between the ambiance and the food. Th is was diner food, real good diner food at that but a burger, a club and a chickpea salad sandwich felt very out of place among the fancy digs and hour long eating window. I'd try it again, for dinner and see if it had a more inventive special menu but for the price, just go to doomies or something for sandwiches.

As a Vegan, I didn't appreciate the long, human hair baked in my lasagna.

I have had dinner at Crossroads before and it was good, but my recent lunch experience was disappointing. The food came to the table about three minutes after we ordered: understand that midweek lunch needs to be speedy, but that felt more like a McDonald's experience than a sophisticated moment. It was also very little food, for almost $20! And really not very tasty either. I left feeling seriously short changed.

I liked the decor. Amazing Services. Staff were professional.

Forget about this place, the service and the way we were treated were terrible. You literally wait and wait to be seated and then for the food, and if you want to get the impossible burger you can't get it from the bar because you are sitting on a table (I know that this sentence doesn't make sense, yes this is how it works). If you insist, you get an unbelievable attitude (and not the burger).

This place won't be around for long. There are other wonderful vegan places to go around all the city.

Food was great but what made it even better was our server Raisa! She was so sweet, nice and was beyond helpful when we asked for local bars in the area (giving us a full list!). Wild seed is known for its food but I'll remember it for their incredible staff and service. Thanks Raisa!!! You're the best!

The waitress was a bit pushy when it came to hurrying me and my sister up to place our order, which I didn't appreciate. The cigars are a fav, as well as the meatball pizza but the eggplant dish was severely over salted. Completely inedible. Also, the sundae used to be a fav but they must've changed the recipe to the brownie which seemed more dense, the ice cream had less vanilla, and there weren't any peanuts. The peanuts tremendously elevate the sundae, so to me it was a big deal.

How I scored Crossroads tonight:

5 stars: I had the pleasure of getting drinks at the bar with Al. He's probably one of the best restaurant bartenders I've encountered. Last time I was here, I lost my voice and I wasn't ready to give up alcohol, he made a whisky drink for me that included ginger, lemon, etc. It was so amazing. I got it again this time. Perfect again but it was better when I needed it. I also order some "crab cakes" and a glass of Malbec. The Malbec was perfect for tonight. Al and the female bartender were friendly and attentive. I would come back just to see them.

5 stars: The food is delicious. Our table of seven ordered lots of food to share. The "calamari" was less favorite. We all enjoyed the Kale Caesar, brussels sprouts, marsala, Scaloppini Parmesean, flat bread, and meatball pizza. Favors were just like their meat counterpart. A friend is vegan so he was afraid to eat the pizza and flat. The waitress assured him that nothing from Crossroads has animal products. He enjoyed and ate everything after then.

4 stars: We had a better waiter last time. Our waitress tonight started out great but I think she was too busy with the other tables. Or maybe she didn't like our table. I don't know, it felt different with her toward the end. It could possibily that we tired to get her to bring a birthday candle.

3 stars: Yes, we were super late for our reservation. Our reservation was at 5:45 PM. I did call 10 minutes before our reservation to let them know we're running 15 minutes late because of the rain. Two people (including me) got there at 6 PM, we went to see Al at the bar. The rest of our party (5 out of 7) got stuck in a parking garage getting out of a show and then rain. The hostess told us that they couldn't seat us anymore. My friend overhead her "bitching" about us in the front as he was coming back from the restroom. The rest of the party didn't get to the Crossroads until 45 minutes later. We asked the hostess if it possible to seat us at all. She said no. We also told our bartender what happened. We then tried to call other restaurants. After 10 mins, the hostess came back saying someone cancelled and can seat us. I wasn't upset on the situation but at her bitching with her coworker. But then again, it was our fault for being so late.

I still love to bring more people and come back her. The food and the bar staff made up for the evening. Because of our tardiness, I can say we're even. :)

Have you tried the Schwarma Spiced Maitake Mushroom dish? How bout the Butternut Squash Ravioli, or the Charred Ricotta?? Well, you re in for a treat. This is how my conversation with my family went when they came to see me during a reunion and I absolutely insisted they go to Crossroads if they were deadest on taking me out, as I m a Vegan and this place has the best selection of authentically gourmet vegan dishes anywhere. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Which includes a helpful and polite staff, stellar alchohol, wine and beer list, and a nice, cozy candlelit ambience you don t find almost anywhere anymore.

They were all well exceeded - exceptional service, incredible 16 course The Grand Tasting Menu, world class wine list, and beautifully renovated restaurant.

Loving this place! For my birthday my MEAT eater boyfriend took me here (yes I'm vegan)! Gosh it was very pleasant, service is awesome, very welcoming.. he did make reservation too though.. I'm just glad he enjoyed the meals as much as I did..

This is a nice casual classy place. The food is delicious and the service is good. We went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was lively enough but not too crowded. The perfect mix of people and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu. All of her recommendations were spot-on. We left very happy

Definitely not impressed with lunch.. chicken ceaser salad was eeehhh, how can you mess up a ceaser salad? Drinks were ok, Definitely better than my salad lol, they helped get the salad down. Maybe ill have to try something else on the menu, but wasn't truly satisfied with my 1st visit

Delicious food and very appetizing looks to the plates. Had a blast coming in with my family here, we will be coming here often now!

Excellent food. If you are not vegan and want to enjoy food and atmosphere in LA go here. You will not regret it.

Wow was that ever a great meal one of the best I have ever eaten, a tad expensive but so soooooo worth it

The food is delicious and tasty. I have food allergies so I find it difficult to eat good tasty food when allergic to gluten, soy, corn, sesame and nightshade. The menu is accommodating to gluten free and the staff made sure the food would not contain any allergen.

I suggest going in the evening around 7p.m. There is more staff available and the ambiance is more joyful. I went at 5p.m. And my waitress had to wait on the entire restaurant. We constantly had to flag her down whereas at 7pm the waitress always came by to see if we needed anything.

Best vegan restaurant in Los Angeles and maybe in the country.

My omnivorous friend and I both agreed the "oysters" and "crab cakes" were the best of the dishes we tried. The"oysters" didn't taste like oysters but were delicious anyway and he said the crab cakes had realistic taste and texture

Atmosphere is a 10. Service is a 5. food is a 3-6. Snotty Attitude. As if there something more special than normal human.

When I call in to see if we can get in they said they were closing soon although the kitchen didn't close to 11 and I called at 10 o'clock for a 1015. They said usually they wouldn't have a problem with it but it was thinning out and there was hardly anybody there.
But when we got there there is only 2 tables available the rest of the place was filled with people

Um, no not anymore. I've been here many times and not once (in recent memory) have I been made to feel that I am actually getting the service I think one should with the long waits, the overpriced gluten filled meat substitutes and the attitude that most of the staff has. I honestly think this is just a trendy "hotspot" it's not actually very healthy. Maybe it used to be but not anymore. The last time I went was... well, the last time I'll ever go.

My personal favorite restaurant and best vegan food you can find in LA. Thank god they found a way to create outdoor dining.

Outstanding venue and food to match. Had an Italian meatball sub for a quick lunch bite that made me want to return to LA just to try more of what they have to offer.

Amazing restaurant. The decor is very chic and simple. The food was amazing. Everything taste so bomb and I couldn t get enough. The staff was exceptional and very helpful and attentive. I love this place and would go every day if I could afford it!! Please open another location in the valley!!

We came here for the impossible burger. But to our surprise they have an rotating menu. So the impossible burger along with many other menu items were not available. As an amateur vegan, my wife loved the Spicy meatball pizza. According to her, it's to die for. But I am 100% GMO, hormones, cow eating meat LOVER. So, if ur vegan! Check the menu before you come here.

Best Vegan Food in SoCal. Service exceptional, ambiance through the roof, food out of this world!

We went here during our visit to LA and ordered the "seafood" tower and some mezcal cocktails. The tower may very well be the best meal I've ever, both in LA and back home. The "oysters" in particular were probably my favourite and much tastier than the real thing. The cocktails were fantastic as well. The restaurant isn't in our usual price point but I think it was well worth it.

I will say, the food wasn't bad at all, but the portions were extremely small even for a tapas place. We had a bunch of different servers and just wasn't a great experience.

The ambience and energy here is uplifting. The service is fantastic and the FOOD! Oh the food! So delicious and so perfect.

Over priced and over-rated. Small portions for the price. Went on a Saturday night and service was mediocre at best. Service levels are set from the top down so the management needs to step it up or be replaced with someone competent. Too many choices in L.A. for fine dining for me to return to this establishment.

The food was very tasty, but the portions were a joke! One potato was $16 - ridiculous!! The service wasn't good either, we started off with David who was nice and charming, he had to leave us at 10.30 due to a shift change. I don't remember who the server was next because we didn't see him. The kitchen staff who brought us the food just put the food without any real presentation of it. They didn't clear our plates on each new plate we got and for a bill of $79 for literally 1 potato, 6 small carrots, a tiny pizza and a small bowl of Risotto.

CREAM OF ARTICHOKE SOUP: Excellent
BAKED MUSHROOM SCALLOPS: Not good.
MUSHROOM & CHESTNUT TORTELLONI : Not good.
MOUSSAKA: Very bad.
VALET PARKING: Saw him in the bathroom (forget to washed his hands).
SERVICE: Waitress and busboy are rude and not professional.

Aaaaaaaaamazing!!! The food is divine!!! I would move to LA just to be close to this restaurant! We had brunch there & everything was delicious! Words are lacking in my vocabulary to describe the delicious flavors of the food I've tasted here. The egg Benedict get that, you won't regret it.
