The pub offers typical Australian cuisine, including crocodile and kangaroo meat. For strong stomachs, they also have grasshoppers. The staff aren't super attentive, but overall they are nice and quick. The beef is really good. Not excellent, but worth trying.

More of a viennese atmosphere (meaning cold, stressed understaffed service, and greedy :) desguised in an australian pub. Beer on taps are the usual local ones, what you find in Vienna's bars, except for Foster,'s, but who drinks this? (not even australian anymore :) Also a few bottles. They improved their burgers with a new rendition with a tomatoe coulis. Food is ok, better than what you tend to find in Vienna's pubs, f.ex. in irish bars, where it's yuk. The 1516 pub is a good austrian place for beers and food. Anyway, Crossfield',s with its assembly line atmosphere :) is still worth a visit.

The food was fine, but that's about it. The service was average at best as waitress wasn't kind and then huge unpleasant surprise at the end: the bill was 31 , I said 35 and after giving 100, I got 55 back... I guess they have different basic math there. Please check your money right away, I checked mine on my way out and that's why I didn't bother to go back in

Excellent place, we came in expecting to eat something fast and okay, and we ended up eating something great and delicious, never expected to eat crocodrile. The prices were okay, they remained in the range.
Portions, great.
Quality, good with a pleasant environment.

Beautiful place, furnished in true Australian style, with many objects that refer to the sea, sun and water sports .... even if in Vienna you can see very little. the beers are very good. fast service.

Pub in central Vienna, not really typical.
Great beer and courteous staff.
The area is quiet and the tables outside are clean and cared for.
The Pub is quiet, ideal for a chat and beer is not expensive, under 5.
I highly recommend.
I don't know what evening is like, I came in the afternoon to have a beer.

Rip off and pure disappointment. Anyone who is hungry and on "reasonable prices" is wrong here.
We expected a lot and were disappointed along the entire length. It was about half full when we came.

Service: 2/5
We ordered 3 beers, which took a bit at first but didn't matter. the waiter then parked two of them side by side. The other of the lady who was parked opposite. We were allowed to take and hand out beer coasters.
A dish (small starter) was forgotten. When we were halfway through the main course, he asked if we still wanted it. It then took another 20 minutes and we decided to pay and leave. So we paid and we were charged for the missing dish, although it was still not there. But there was still another question what that was all about.

Food and drink: 2/5
We once ordered "Welcome to the jungle", which was given as grasshoppers with mealworms with hummus and "greens". The dish was first forgotten, then came in a cardboard / wooden plate and is a cheek! There are exactly 4! small grasshoppers on a dollop of hummus and a little salad with about 20 meal worms on it. Don't taste like much else. The hummus was good. The advertised insects on the salad were at most a small topping.

Also nachos, they were good. For a price main course with 10 euros but quite thin.

The "Mixed meat plate" was a cheek for 22 euros. Is given as a mix of kangaroo, crocodile, grasshoppers and beef. The plate was as long as my hand, and 70% of it was french fries. Three pieces of meat (kangaroo, crocodile and beef) were all tasty, but not really big either. More the children's variant. And then: 2 grasshoppers. Really only 2 grasshoppers. (which, by the way, don't really taste like anything.)

The Ceasars Salad with strips of turkey was only half a plate full.
Beers were good and ok, but what can you do wrong with bottled beer? That's right: the price can be set quite high at 4.7 for a large beer.

Ambience: 3/5
Most of it is in the basement, seats are pleasant, but one room is decorated in a rather meager manner. A little bland. The mold? / Water damage spots? on the wall next to the stairs are not quite appetizing.

Price-performance ratio: 1/5
Everything is too expensive for what is offered. The food was far too little for all of us (2 men, 1 woman), clearly too expensive and much too high for the actual performance. You are pulled over the table and then you leave a proud 70 for 3 people.

Conclusion: We have decided never to go there again and cannot recommend it to anyone. Too bad because we were looking forward to the evening and the food.

edit: Now, 5 months later, I've heard from a few other people how they were ripped off there. Well, I would have known that earlier.

Love, love & love - came across it by sheer accident & were so glad that we did - enjoyed the beers. food & the atmosphere - and it was great hearing an Australian accent :-) Really great place to immerse yourself in.

Super cool ambience and nice charm! One should not be afraid of new dishes and speaking English! Waiters all very polite. A reservation is highly recommended as it can get really crowded in the evening!

If I'm looking for a really good burger, I'm drawn to Crossfield's. Friendly staff, reserving an advantage, if you want to have a table in the evening.
The outdoor area is not really suitable for groups and for eating.
