Crossfields Australian Pub Review

I've been a frequent of this bar for 14 years, and I will be frequenting for the next 14 years as well. All around a great place to relax.

I don't give 5 stars because it's really overpriced!!

But despite that only good informations: great staff, tasty food (one can order a plate with crocodile and kangaroo meat), great and different beer, friendly environment.

Of course that, despite the price, will return.

Upstairs it's small and mostly crowded. It's a bit expensive but that's because of the perfect location. Very authentic interior, feels like beeing in Down Under. The friendly staff sells a wide range of beers. Mostly international guests (tourists). Never tried any food but looks delicious. #probeergourmet

A rip of .. 3 of us asked for vodka and coke but guess what the English barman never put any vodka in the glasses but charged us full price keep away

This was a great place to go on a cold day for a hot meal. Although you could linger over your food or beverage, the service was quick so if you had other plans for the evening, you could get on your way.
I really enjoyed a pot of tea with a brown sugar rock candy stick for your sugar. That was fun! The pavlova was also very tasty.

This is a great place to eat. We had a large group and the servers did an outstanding job serving all of us
The food was awesome and served promptly. And at the right temperature. Our drinks were always attended to. Just a unique dinning experience.

Pretty good. Very touristy. A Reservation is recommended

The prices are proud but the food is good there
But you should definitely book, preferably a few days in advance, maybe even weeks if the group should be larger

1:35 waiting time for a burger which was then served completely fried, and it wasn't particularly good either! The friendliness of the waiters was also below average. Hopefully just a slip because the ambience and the location are very good!

Great bar. Very friendly and good prices. Food was excellent but we didn't try the grilled grasshoppers.

Has to go through the smoky bar to get to the restaurant in the basement. If you go to the toilet, there is often a smell of smoke downstairs.

Food was amazing. Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff was absolutely impeccable, especially Benjamin, who took perfect care of us from start to finish. Can't wait to come back again and recommend this place to our friends.

Good service in English, good food, I recommend mix adventure, reasonable price.

I expected more to be honest. The burger was ok, but not extraordinary and it arrived cold. The fries were hot and also there just regular fries, i had better fries before... I really pity the waiters there, they were super stressed. They had to run up stairs to get the food to serve down below and there didn't seem to be a clear concept of responsibility, we were asked what we want to drink by 3 staff members. The staff was really friendly and motivated.

A very welcome pitstop for travel weary Aussies... We came across this bar down a side street off the main mall near St Stephens Cathedral in Vienna and was amazed at how authentic it was. There was big screen AFL and NRL playing at either end of the bar. Good Burgers and really cold beer very friendly bar staff and then after an hour or so you step outside your right back in the middle of Vienna !

As the name suggests it's an Australian pub and serves very Australian food and beverages. Even some staff are authentic Australians. There is a variety of drinks to choose from, all of which are pretty good. The food is great but can get a bit expensive. The overall interior is very unique and fits the mood. It's a great place to visit with friends.

Inside is like a timber cabin cluttered with a lifetime of Aussie junk. It's rustic and unconsciously cramped yet the atmosphere is like a chunk of home, filled with memorabilia and cosy enough to share a few beers with mates. Not really the feel of a family pub or maybe the feel of the intimate couple nostalgia this is more the footy fan and his backpacking sheila. I loved it though not to everyone's taste as a bit clunky for noise, still if there is good game of footy on, Aussie style, then this place is a little treat hidden in Vienna.

Good vibes, good waiters, good beer. Above all, the option to order this as a 3 or 5 liter tower proves to be practical in a group / duo.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food and the selection has decreased over time. (The nachos remain the best side dish, 11/10 stars.)

Never have I come across such rude customer service. The burger which I ordered never arrived. When I reminded them about the order they didn't apologise. On two occasions my friends and I were pushed out of the way by the waiters. On another occasion the waiter asked for us to move our chair more parralel with the table. He then swore at us.

For non german speakers, probably the best place in Vienna centre to go to.

We are going there since 6 years. Recently they changed somehow, the menu is different, the burgers are not as tasty as they used to be. And back then you always got a bucket with sauces, now its just some weird tomato sauce. The extra cocktailsauce we ordered was really bad. But the cider still tastes the same :) The waiters was much nicer a few years ago.

Good beer selection at a bit too high prices. Good food, especially the coleslaw. Nice service that is really fast. Unfortunately it is so loud that you can no longer hear everyone at a table of six ...

Good food interesting beers, friendly staff. Heuschtecken you must have tried, as a daily meal I would not want them :) I prefer potato chips.

Hammer Local. The mac n cheese are a small highlight in addition to the absolutely great main courses. Very well!

Nice Down Under setting, relaxed atmosphere. In the last years the food is getting boring and the place could use a refresh and a little bit of a sports bar.

Coming from Australia, and being a kangaroo meat lover I got discussing cooking techniques with the chef. He told me how he cooks it sois vide and then made me a dish to try. Best kangaroo I ve ever had. Beers are ice cold with footy and every other sport is on the tele. Home away from home in Vienna!

Tried the flag cheeseburger dish and was disappointed. The meat wasn't very good and the cheese to meat ratio was off. Service was good, not many locals there, mainly tourists.

Fun place to grab a drink in central Vienna. Try the burgers and the beer towers.

Very cozy bar with happy hour twice a day (4-6pm and 11pm - 1am). The prices are reasonable. They play sports on the TV. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. You can get real Aussie food and snacks here. The only thing that can be improved on is the toilets, which are outside. But they are renovating the place so I hope my review will be outdated soon.
Anyway, you should definitely visit!

A wonderful place for spending your Friday nights with your friends and loved ones. The atmosphere with that Australian feel and the esthetic really make you want to stay there forever. From delicious food (I really recommend the Nachos) to great and exotic drinks, they have it all. The staff is very friendly and speaks both English and German perfectly.
Unfortunately you often need a reservation and once you re in, it might take a while until you get your food.
But still 5 out of 5 stars, one of the top spots in Vienna for going out.

Downtown location, so a little expensive, service unfortunately not too friendly. There are better pubs for sure.

The place is very cool, as are the drinks and food. The 2 star deduction is because of the service! Unfortunately very bad.

I can honestly say that I've never eaten such a good burger in my as in this restaurant. Even though its a little pricey, I can highly recommend it.

Very friendly - but also very full of smoke in March. Probably wouldn't go back.

Best in town!!! You should try mixed plate which include crocodile, beef and kangaroo steaks.

This restaurant is the best place for Australian food in Austria. The service is from South Africa or Canada or Australia and more but still they have an aussie Flair. I love the burgers and hoppers. Big beer collection, aussie beer on tap. The local is wonderful filled with aussie stuff. Price is fine for 1. District

A visit to Crossfield's is always a great thing. The pub (especially the cellar) was decorated with a lot of love, the staff is very friendly and courteous (speaks mainly English). The waiting time for the food is short and it always tastes excellent. In terms of style, I would describe it as extended bar food. A reservation is definitely recommended. We would love to come back anytime.

Very cool and clean pub with delicious food (snacks and burgers) service mega friendly. For me, unfortunately, too smoky inside ... as a non-smoker you are already smoked.
