Absolutely love this ferry you just drive right on (80 Minutes!!!!) you can bring your dogs make sure you are in the proper section of the ship though if you do Has a nice bar, great chicken tenders and sandwiches if your hungry, a lovely view from the roof of the ship!

Great ride. Nice that they now let passengers remain in their vehicles during the trip.

Need more room to get in and out of car . Ridiculous. Jam too many cars. To get out had a bad cramp in leg and I am not overweight.

Having never been to a ferry before I was very confused on where I was allowed to park to pick someone up. They told me to park next to the dumpster. Come on man.
Either way it seemed just fine.

This is a fine option for crossing over to the eastern end of Long Island. About an hour and a half of relaxing time. Very organized and safe. On a nice day the views and deck time is fabulous. Choose the bigger ships for stability on a less calm day.

A fun experience for visiting Long Island when coming from the north. Service was fast and professional.

Very much enjoyed the 2hr lights and sights cruise out of New London on Cross Sound Ferry. $30 per person and $5 for parking. If possible go during week and avoid the packed weekends. If you like lighthouses this is great trip. I wish they did a 3-4 hr trip that included montauk point and orient point but maybe they will add in future

Nice break from driving through NYC. Grab a drink and snack while crossing the sound.

It was a nice trip. The ship was nice. Most of the crew was great, except when the ship first arrived, one of the crewmen threw a rope (with a hard plastic end) to the dock and came within 1 1/2 feet of hitting a waiting customer and didn't care, I'm pretty sure he could not have cared less. The employee on the dock did come over and apologize, but to me not okay. It would have been two stars but the trip was very fast.

Water conditions were the worst ever. Otherwise the crew and staff were as good as ever

Use them quite often need better food selections and food handlers need gloves and training

Absolutely love the ferry! We live near NYC and when we head north we drive out to Orient Point and take the ferry. It relieves the stress of driving to Moheghan Sun, Mystic, and all points Lobster. It really makes the trips up north a joy.

Runs completely on time, a lot of staff to help move things along. Comfortable seating, snack bar - a very well run operation.

Excellent service, triable schedule, comfortable ride. I have been on the Cross Sound Ferry more than twenty times and there has never been a problem. The ride from Orient Point to New London is one hour and twenty minutes. Getting off the ferry with the car is another five to ten minutes. On board the food is really mediocre and they do not accept American Express. Plenty of outlets to recharge your phone.

A great quick way to get to Long Island and back to the mainland. Save yourself a lot of time and money and take the ferry.

Always a nice ride an hour and a half rest. Plenty of room. Very clean. The crew is very polite. Be using the cross sound ferry for over 30 years.

From the East End of Long Island to CT, this is the way to go.

I love utilizing the ferry however we rode the ferry this past weekend and grabbed some lunch at the cafe while waiting to board the boat. The cashier charged us $2.50 for tap water without even informing us and when we went over the bill after realizing something was off he insisted that he had to charge us the full soda price for the tap water. This a bit frustrating and super odd.

Edit: I m not sure how to reply but this took place this past Saturday on the New London side at about 1:30.

The ferry is a beautiful and restful way to get from New England to Long island. The staff is accommodating and nice.

Nice guys on staff. they warned us that we should stay with our bike on the parking level the whole time because it's often quite rocky and the bike might tip over. That wasn't a fun way to ride the ferry. But we were glad they cared enough to tell us that. There's a nice bar and a grill on the boat. The food guys didn't seem as happy with their jobs.

Fast, efficient, friendly staff, comfortable seating

Took the seajet to Foxwoods casino, clean, fast and entertaining. We took the Sunday 10 am jet and played two games of bingo with a caller who interjected jokes and stories throughout. He also pointed out points of interest along v the way. Scenic, beautiful ride...

It's better than driving around. Don't go driving to fast through East Marion Orient and Orient Point cuz you'll miss all the little shops and piss off the locals.

I use this ferry all the time and I have never had an issue with their service. Always friendly people, and they always help you out if you miss your boat.

Best way to go to Connecticut if you live on the Island..

We always like the cross sound ferry the guys and girls who work there are always nice people. They do a great job with the cars. We also like the food, Bacon grill cheese delish and the clam chowder is great. We love the ferry ride too! We have been going on the weekends for years and it's always very pleasant!!!

YOU HAVE A VESSEL, THE M V CAPE HENLOPEN, WHICH WAS ONE OF THE CAPE MAY LEWES FERRY VESSELS. BEFORE THAT SHE WAS OWNED BY THE VIRGINIA FERRY DISTRICT. SHE WAS CALLED THE VIRGINIA BEACH. I'M HAPPY TO SEE THAT SHE IS ALIVE AND, WELL AT 73 YEARS OLD.

Easy on, easy off. No delays. Comfortable seating area below with TVs and food available, but also open air seating up above. Only negative is the very limited bathrooms.

The only way to travel to and from Long Island to Rhode Island.

I take the Mary Jane every chance I get. off the tip of Long Island to New London Connecticut. I love the ride.

I work nearby and am always helping visitors that park in the Water Street Garage find their way to the ferry -- it seems they don't have anything clearly marked for newcomers. So if you plan on parking at the Water Street Garage and are walking, I hope this detailed map helps some of you find your way! There are two separate ways to go, hence the blue and red lines on the map, but the red line is much quicker/safer in my opinion because you will encounter less traffic and it's a shorter walk, but it really depends on where you park in the garage. The blue line also encounters more vehicles that are boarding the other ferry so if you want to avoid that, follow the red line. Although the map pulls up the main building as the location, if you've already purchased your tickets you can walk straight to the highlighted box next to where you will board. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR WALKERS ONLY, NOT VEHICLES. BE SURE TO PAY ATTENTION TO TRAFFIC AND BE SAFE.

Edit: Please note that you should give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes to find a parking space and to walk to the ferry site. So many people that are running late end up cramming themselves into a space that blocks traffic for the rest of us all day because they didn't account for parking time.

The ride, equipment and especially the workers were all top professionals. A very well run operation. A pleasure to do business and I will be riding again as soon as possible. Thank you!

Never had an issue and sometimes they'll let you on an earlier ferry if there's room

Waited in stand by for an hour while we got passed by people who came way after us. Also when we told the staff about it they were not helpful at all

Horrible customer service and treatment. Reservations agent on phone was one of the rudest and most condescending people I have ever spoken too. Clearly the service aspect of what her job is lost on her. She should either learn how to speak to people or get a job at the DMV.

I haven t taken the ferry in decades. Didn t know what I was doing. Staff was so helpful and courteous I so enjoyed that ride. Everyone should take that ride

1 minute late to being 15 minutes early, cancelled our ferry. boat left 10 minutes earlier than it's supposed to so we couldn't get on ?? the boats are scheduled for a reason, follow the schedule.

Great ride. Wheelsman did a great job bringing the Cape Henlopen into dock! Enjoyed the trip. I have a connection to this boat. My Grandfather ran the Virginia Ferry Corporation which crossed the Chesapeake Bay between Cape Charles & Virginia Beach. The state took over the service And added the Virginia Beach to it's fleet. When the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel opened in 1964 the ferry was sold to the Delaware River & Bay Authority and it's name was changed to the Cape Henlopen. It was a pleasure to ride her again!

The ferry is large enough where you can enjoy the ride. There is an elevator for the handicapped that has a safety screen on the inside. If this is not closed on either deck then the elevator may not be summoned. I had to call the shore office to have them call the ship to get someone to check the doors on the upper level so we could use the elevator to go upstairs to get a snack and use the restroom.
On shore we wanted to use the office facilities. There was no problem until the handicapped person asked if there was hand sanitizer outside the bathroom door because there was no paper to grab the door handle with. She was told it was in the center of the room. "Well I don't want to run all the way over there when the exit is here and the walk to the car is still ahead of me" said the 75 year old customer. " No one said you had to run" said the 20ish year old girl behind the counter. "We don't need snipity remarks from you" I said as we left.

Relaxing way to travel to New England. Ferries are clean and on time. Orient Point side is very well organized while the New London side is less organized when lining up before the ferry arrives for boarding.

We were early and put on standby. We were able to get an earlier departure. We were pleasantly surprised they offered organic fare at the snack bar. I would use this service again.

What a great experience! The foggy lighthouse pictures are album worthy. Comfortable ride.

I really like the ferry. I used a one times a year when I'm going to Orient Pond.
