Doesn't get too much worse than this company. Their techs are not qualified. Their customer service is atrocious. If you can even get someone to answer you will be treated like an enemy of their company. All this after you have paid them an annual fee for "service".

We have used Croppe Metcalfe for their HVAC maintenance and repairs for over 10 years. We have never had an issue. I m always impressed by their professionalism and reliability. The techs are helpful and communicative. Ryan C. helped us this week, and he was the same. He was patient with all my questions and went through all our available options for repair or replacement of a humidifier. He took his time to figure out the best solution. We were also able to get him out the same day I called in and the visit was covered under our Gold policy. We would recommend them to anyone looking for reliable service on their HVAC system.

I have had a service contract wth them for many years. The service has increasingly deteriorated over the years. They promise same-day service but they send someone out EVERYTIME who says it needs a part or for some reason, they have to send someone back. I always ask if I need to contact someone, they say no. 95% of the time, I have to initiate the call. It is usually 4 - 5 visits before anything is resolved. For the last 2 summers I have been without my air conditioning for often a week at a time while they "order" a part. For the first time, this time, the parts department called and said the part was just ordered (I had been told it was ordered already). I was also told by the technician that it would be installed the nest day or worst case scenario Monday (this was a Thursday). The person in the parts department told me when it came in Monday, someone would call. I asked when. He said "someday". But not Monday. This all occurred starting the Monday after my "maintenance check". What a nightmare.

The CroppMetcalfe rep I talked to (Donny) had a technician out to my house the very same day !!! The technician (Richard) showed up on time, explained everything perfectly well and corrected my problem in short order for a reasonable fee. Their called "5-Star Technicians" for good reason.

(This is the second review I filled in for Croppe Metcalfe). My technician arrived on time, did a very efficient job and the system seems to be working well. However, for Croppe Metcalfe management information: another technician was also scheduled to do a repair in a neighbor's apartment on the same date and time as mine (I am 12-106; the other tech was supposed to work on 12-104). When I went down to the garage with my tech, we found the other one erroneously working on my unit. Mine had been turned off in advance for the repair - the other tech was trying his hardest to turn it on, etc. A lot of confusion!!!

Great service. We had a plumbing leak and they were able to come out the day we called. We came back from vacation to a partially fallen in wet ceiling in the kitchen from the bathroom above. The technician found the problem and actually fixed it compared to the two other plumbers we had come out to fix the same leak over the past couple of years. I would definitely call CropMetcalfe and especially Carlos, our technician, back if we ever need a plumber. Reasonable costs and expert service. Couldn't ask for more!

Scheduling prepaid maintenance is near impossible. It seems to always be 2 months from when I call to get an appointment. Out of four scheduled services, one was a no show, two were an hour late (first appointment of the day so no window), and one (not prepaid) was on time and professional. Don't recommend unless you work from home and can afford to have time wasted.

The technician (Omar) was outstanding! He arrived well within the scheduled time window and demonstrated superb knowledge of the two different HVAC systems currently installed in our residence. His pleasant demeaner and professionalism far exceeded expectations. A true five star technician.

I experienced a problem with my heat pump and called CroppMetcalfe.
The technician arrived promptly and put on slippers before entering my house.
He was very knowledgeable and thorough and went out of his way to check all
of the areas in my system. He found the problem and fixed it. I have not had
a problem since. Pierre the technician was fantastic and with having such a great experience I signed a contract. It was the first time I ever took a contract with a company dealing with my heat pump. I have been very satisfied with
their professionalism, service and courtesy.

What impressive service. Usually, when I think HVAC issues, I picture a dirty construction worker showing up at my house and trying to oversell me, stinking up my house in the process.
Not Cropp. They sent Eric, a great salesman...wait...salesman is the wrong word. He didn't try to sell me anything. Instead, he diagnosed my problem (a backflow preventer failed on my boiler), set up fans, shut off all the correct valves, and had a repairman there in a few hours. AWESOME service.
Then the repairman, McDavid, shows up. He isn't scared of dogs, which was a relief, since it was the most action they has seen all day. They were all up in his business. He kept all his mess in the boiler room. He wore booties to keep my floors clean. He cleaned up after himself. He was...AWESOME.
So let me summarize. Same day service, done efficiently, done cleanly, and done by friendly staff. Winner winner chicken dinner.

CM's plumbing and HVAC crews have always been good...

CM's plumbing and HVAC crews have always been good, but the pest guys, while unfailingly polite, do not know how to deal with drain flies. They claim they do, but they actually don t; the proof is their visits make no difference. One cannot simply squirt a bit of bug spray, perhaps toss a little pesticide powder every few weeks, and declare victory. The first technician convinced me to buy a 3-visit policy on the possibility that his initial treatment might not get all of them, but he was way over-confident. Another tech advised I treat my drain daily, which I did for more than a month. But once I stopped daily treatments, the flies were back. Looking online, most sites advise it will be necessary to scrub out the inside of the drain with a snake to reach the flies nests. That doesn t take a long time, but it s dirty work; that s what I ve done, and am now using products intended for this problem. It seems to be doing the trick -- without spraying insecticides inside my home.

There is no point in another visit. I feel scammed, and I would like my money back, but MC did not respond to my disappointment with their services.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service, products, staff, and overall company. We were told our HVAC unit would be fixed the next day and it wasn t until I hounded to get someone on the phone to tell us it wouldn t be fixed till Monday. We will not be renewing our contract with them and some advice to everyone- DONT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!! If you want your AC unit to work!!!

Had a wonderful experience this morning with a CroppMatcalfe service technician who first name is Marvin. I believe he was out of the VA office. He was very knowledgeable and customer friendly. Marvin came to perform annual maintenance on my AC unit. I live in Oxon Hill, MD. Great job CM for employing tech like Marvin.

Bennett examined my 2 AC units to determine their readiness to see me through the approaching Winter satisfactorily. At the completion of his diagnosis of Unit 1--the older unit--he walked me through the technical issues which may negatively impact performance if they are left unaddressed. The Technician told me what my options were and offered his guidance on the first-best-option, in response to my request for his own judgment call. There were no issues with the second unit as it is a brand new system, Bennett was very courteous and professional. This was, indeed, a Value-for-Money Service Experience. I also welcome the new paperless Invoice system as a user-friendly innovation

The CroppMetcalfe technician was very professional and did an excellent job. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure everything was operating optimally before he left. I was extremely pleased with his visit and having the added advantage of the CroppMetcalfe maintenance contract.

My last two experiences with Cropp Metcalfe have unsatisfactory. They have been consistently higher than other plumbing companies, and most recently they diagnosed a minor sink faucet problem and stated that the cost of repair would be over $500. When I questioned the cost, they were not able to break down the parts and labor. I called the manufacturer directly and had a small plastic part sent to me for free. I installed the small plastic part in five minutes and everything worked perfectly. Had I accepted the proposal, I would ve spent over $500 unnecessarily. In addition, when I noted this problem to Cropp Metcalfe, my email was ignored.

My water heater began leaking and it seemed to be thru the control panel?? I called the company on the water heater and they had been absorbed by CroppMecalfe. Now I had to deal with a new unknown Company. I had heard government regulations were causing a supply dilemma with stock and I was worried that this would be a lengthy issue. Well, I had a diagnostic performed by the technician Trevor Bean and I knew I was the hands of a professional. From start to finish he assured myself and my wife that he would resolve our issue. Due to lateness of the day the part was ordered the next morning. Trevor searched all the local supply houses and continue till he found the part in Maryland. Trevor was knowledgeable and efficient. No wasted steps and explained everything he was doing if we asked. CroppMetcalfe made a lifelong customer today.
