Most of the staff are friendly but there is one elitist, white dude with long black hair who thinks he's the queen. North American visitors beware! Because I wouldn't say please for every drink that I ordered he refused to serve me, even though I ALWAYS say "thank you" for my drinks. There is absolutely NO WAY that EVERY person in that bar is saying "please" for EVERY drink that they order! That is just a ridiculous expectation. Especially when you consider that almost everyone is drunk. I always show respect to everyone here and never have problems with the crowd. I even tipped 20 quid, which is a rarity in London. I told him that "I'm on vacation and I don't want to argue". Then, when I turned my back to him to leave he said "Yeah, well, I'm not going to serve you". What a coward. It was obvious from the start that this guy for whatever reason didn't like me. Twice he messed up my order and would ignore me at the bar. Maybe he is racist against foreigners or maybe he just hates the fact that I'm on vacation and he isn't. Either way, I guess I should stop coming here since he never once said "How can I help you?" or "you're welcome" to me. *ironic laugh*

Door guy takes money off you randomly if you arrive past a certain time. He only charges people who he thinks dont know better. He will refuse access if you dont pay but many get in free if he knows them.

It's just Rock and Roll. If you are looking for a fancy place with a quiet night out, don't come here. This is a real deal. By the way, we are coming again in spring and i have to buy a new hoodie and a t-shirt.

Review 1000? Been here every time I'm in London. Cool bartenders, perfect music, friendly crowd, perfectly dirty and graffitied bathrooms at the bottom of a sketchy stairway. Get loaded and then join the chaos outside, or the other way around. And get a shirt on the way out too. See you next time.

You don't really find dive bars in London it's normally all about the pubs in this town, so it's refreshing to go somewhere a bit different.

Classic vibe, loud music, cold drinks, great art and filled with character.

Attracts a fairly mixed crowd, nice to see that the Crobar is diverse.

You should totally go check it out if you're in the mood for something a little different to the usual pub blah blah blah.

Beer selection is solid too.

Without doubt a 30 year throw back to the metal pubs of the 80's from original back combed big hair and bullet belts to the death metal and tour t-shirt brigade. Throw in a few modern day strays who just want a late drink and it makes for an interesting evening. Unsurprising that there's a friendly clientele with spare chairs being offered up at tables, you half expect to bump into Saxon, Venom and the Quireboys reminiscing about the old days.

A rather odd place (which is good).

If you don't like rock music, particularly of the heavier variety, then this place is not for you. If that is your type of music then you will love it.

There is a good choice of bottled beer. The staff are friendly and efficient. The clientele are friendly and interesting.

Have been coming down to London for gigs and going to The Crowbar for many years. Unfortunately one of the bar staff decided for some reason she would not serve any of our group or anyone else with a Scottish accent which she is perfectly entitled to do. Well done to the other 2 bar staff members who did a great job looking after us you know who you are. We normally stay for several hours and spend plenty money but left early and headed round to The Ship and had a brilliant night....Your loss we shall not return.

A true heavy metal gem in the centre of London. Nice beer (though canned and bottled only, no taps to speak of) at reasonable prices, and a jukebox with a great collection of old-school and modern heavy music. No soap in the bogs, but what metalhead really needs that?

Google suggested this place as a great alternative pub in London so me and a friend ventured here to see what it was like...

First impressions at the door? Not great, got charged to even get in. The pub itself is ridiculously tiny, had to fight to get in and try to get to the bar. There was no real atmosphere at all and could hardly hear the music. I could get on with it board with the sticky floors, the graffiti and the lack of seating, all that was what I had expected. But the venue itself really isn't worth the trip if you're not already in the area.

Would have been one star but luckily they served alcohol free beer.
