Always a great place to ski! To avoid the huge crowds during spring skiing, make sure you don't go the same week as Colorado or Texas schools are on spring break. We went the week before and had many runs where we were the only ones on them. It was like skiing on a private mountain!

I was there during a period where they got record snowfall so maybe my experience was a bit better than normal but I really liked the hill especially the high lift and the north face lift. Though they really should replace the t bar lifts with normal lifts.

CB is some of the best skiing in the world! Great for families looking for and easy time, or just learning to ski, and perfect for expert skiers looking for technical lines, cliffs and steeps. Nothing really in between. If you're a blue cruiser, CB is likely not the place.

CB has something for every level skier and boarder and if you're an expert rider well then you're in for many treats! From the corduroy groomers and terrain parks on Red Lady Lift to the untamed steeps of the North Face Lift Crested Butte offers up the best of all types of terrain. Couple that with the Apres' at the base area and downtown for dinner you've found your real Colorado ski town! I'd recommend checking out Slogars for dinner.

Forget DisneyLand. This is the happiest place on earth. Quiet, serene, and relaxing in the summer, stunning Aspen colors in the fall, world class wildflowers in the spring, and phenomenal snowsports and backcountry in the Winter. Crested Butte is an outdoorsy person's 4 season dreamland.

Whatever you do do not stay at the Crested Butte grand mountain lodge this place is an epic rip off and the staff is incredibly rude. The rooms look like they came straight from 1996 And could all use a good make over.

The burner on the stove is incredibly small so it takes forever just to boil a decent pot of water. Extremely overpriced compared to other options in Crested Butte

The food was very good. The service people there were very polite and expedited the late lunch order promptly. The atmosphere was good and open aired, but a little busy (but it was Santa ski slope Saturday). Was very nice to see out to the slopes, and watch while eating.

My first time experiencing Crested Butte was on closing weekend. Had an absolute blast. I loved the quirkiness of the locals getting dressed up, and I loved the feeling of riding the old center bar double chairlifts. The double diamond terrain offerings were amazing as well. I really hope, now that Vail Resorts owns the mountain, that they don't change it and try to turn it into another Vail. I live in Vail and absolutely loved the fact that it was pretty much the polar opposite. In fact, one of the reasons for my trip was I wanted to experience what it was like before Vail had a chance to screw it up.

I won t stay here again. We had no hot water for our showers each morning, our shower wouldn t drain, the toilet stopped up, and each time we flushed the toilet we had to jiggle the handle to make it stop running. The thermostat in the room never worked. When we came it it was set on 66. We turned it up and it never came on. At one point we had it set on 77 but the air never blew out of the vents. Also had a problem with our lift tickets and snowboard lessons. Booked these before we came and got the runaround about it once we got here. Addressed all issues with the front desk and the only help they could offer was to unclog the toilet (which they said was likely due to college kids putting soap in it the week before we got here) and cleaning out the shower drain. Called the reservations office and all they said was this trip was no refundable. Offered no apology for an awful experience. Not the dream vacation we imagined.

This is a great mountian. It has a variety of runs but is a great place for extreme skiing. Watch Rambo run...the highest steepest cut run in North America. Good snow but will need more soon. Love the ease of busses from the Town to the mountian but were a bit awkward to get into with skis.

I want to go back as soon as possible. Ok. I ll start from the beginning. Got to the slopes on Friday Jan 17 and was greeted by a super friendly staff and a day full of snow and powder. Had lunch at butte 66 (great beers) and a full day on the slopes by the base area. Another full day on Saturday this time with sun in the am and snow on the pm. More powder! Hung around the umbrella bar and I had heard it was the best view on the mountain. I have to concur but don t take my word; check out the photos. Finished up why another full day on Sunday and it was true to its name with beautiful sun all day! Granted, this was some of the most ideal weather you could ask for so that helped. Each of the three area we snowboarded had their own unique flavor and we were only able to explore less than half the mountains. If you can make the trip up monarch pass, the butte is well worth the trip! I know I ll be back!

We've been here 8 years now and every one has been wonderful! The workers, the clientele, and the locals are all really nice. Little to no lift lines and everything from short greens to long winding challenging blues and from what I understand some of the best lift serviced extreme terrain in the country.

Great mountain with a good variety of terrain. To me, it's definitely a destination (as opposed to commuter) mountain. This was great for us at our last trip when we got a late snowfall and there was no one on the hill with us!!

Would love to come back in summer to bike it - and probably will at some point.

We got 3 days free on the Super Pass, but a pass is exorbitant even compared with Epic rates.

If you like steep, technical terrain, this is hands-down the best resort in Colorado. The mountain has a friendly vibe and the expansive views literally everywhere are simply jaw-dropping. This is my happy place.

It was busy, you have to park down in town and take the shuttle unless you want to pay to park at the resort, the magic carpet/bunny hill is non-existent and the lowest green is very steep at the bottom, I was actually scared to go down it.

During our stay at Keystone and surrounding areas ...

During our stay at Keystone and surrounding areas , we had an extra day left so we had a choice - 45 minutes to go to Vail or 3 1/2 hours to Crested Butte . Obvious choice right? Wrong ! We figured we'd go with the road less traveled and head to CB because our logic at the time was "everybody goes to Vail!" and we'll come back and do it on another trip. Remember now 3 1/2 hours = 7 hours both ways and we had to be at the airport early the next morning. So we embarked about 3 in the morning to allow for any delays and stopping for food and bathroom break on the way. The whole trip was exhausting never again but the skiing and scenery were off the hook so at the end of the day you do all of this no matter what for the experience and I choose to remember all the good parts.

Overall this place has a good concept but they need to be more flexible. We went to this place on August 2nd, 2017 and because of weather we went on the ski lift and that's it. The resort was closed throughout the whole day due to thunderstorms and we didn't get a discount for the next day nor did we get our money back. We talked to a manager about it and he wouldn't do anything at all for us. We came back after the thunderstorm passed and weren't able to do anything because they closed the activities 2-3 hours early because they saw lightning from the storm that just passed and Wednesdays were supposedly the days where they keep everything up later than usual. At the end of the day we wasted over $100 for a ski lift ride! Also the gold mining is a scam. It is dirt bags with the possibility of getting fools gold. This is unbelievable and I do not recommend going here.

Ten years ago I would have given Crested Butte 5 stars. Driving through town now they actually have traffic and it has become popular just like all the other resort towns. It is still beautiful just like the early 90's, its just lost that small town feel. My suggestion is to avoid weekends. It is still one of my favorite mountain towns.

A power resides in this mountain. Top three skiing day of 30 years downhill skiing. Very challenging, perfect layout, speedy lifts, small lift lines, good skiiers. Even in a bad snow year it was epic.

Long and steep groomers that cannot be beat in Colorado. Views are stellar and lines were reasonably short. Beginner runs are limited so newbs watch out. The mountain town has a ton of great good and drink options. Probably one of the best mountains I've ever been too.
