Summertime visit: Quaint business district; lovely creek area with bike path running alongside; scenic gondola ride to top of mountain and then down the otherside. Large area of free parking. Only downside is $$$$$$$.
Great resort all round and so quiet - because it's hard to get to I guess. Worth the trip!
There's no better resort in the US for incredible mountain views. Even if there isn't snow, you won't be mad! Plus, the town and village are adorable, the gondola is free, and the locals are the best around! When it comes to the skiing, the fall-line is awesome! Long runs, hike-tos, and incredible lift-access terrain abounds!
Very nice..our room is very comfortable and you can't beat the beautiful scenery.
very cool place. I loved how the gondola is free. there was a free little choo choo train ride for the kids and I think I saw a sign that said free ice skating as well. we had a bite to eat at tracks. we saw a whole group of mule deer while on the gondola. it was fun to watch everyone ski. but the only reason I give it one less star than 5 is because of how much it costs to ski. you must be very invested in it...and the line back to down the mountain went all the way down the stairs and then some.. we had fun just playing in the snow and on the sled hill not far from the entrance to the gondola. we also traveled to telluride from ouray where we were staying. a good day trip on our Christmas vacation.
One of greatest ski resorts in North America. Spent six of the best years of my life there, three years working in guest services. Kevin Maughan and crew are the best. You have to ski Dynamo, Gold Hill #2 and you must hike to the top of Palmayra Peak at least once, Senior's is awesome. If you have never been skiing in Telluride, you should meet for the tour hosted by guest services it is so informative and shows you the best way to navigate the ski resort. The on mountain food is outstanding Giuseppe's, Bon Vivant, Gorrono Ranch, Alpine Vino, Allred's, have you seen the view from any one of these restaurants? Arts and entertanment are world class, ever heard of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival or the Telluride Film Festival? If you have never been to Telluride you are missing it. Don't miss it.
The mountain is great except trail signs are not clear
Beautiful but parking is impossible in the entire town. Riding the gondola is a must.
Must visit place. Every one in Colorado should visit at least once in every few years.
Much larger than expected. Not fully open but it is a bad snow year. Love the town and the scenery.
This is the best place to ski and ride and mountain bike and hike! and has a beautiful gondola to ride in the summer and winter. Scenery is unparalled! If you come here you won't ever want to leave you just want to stay. And you want to bring back your friends or family or kids or dogs next time.
Beginners can go to the top of the hill and ski down. How awesome is that?!!
Beautiful location, too bad not all the runs were open.
Lovely place to visit local towns. The views were a bonus as well!
The most remarkable observation (besides the obvious) perfect silence. There are no sounds of traffic, no planes flying overhead, nothing but pure tranquility. I visited during shoulder season, best decision ever. The hiking was fantastic and we had a brief, beautiful dusting of snow. Bring your dog companion if you have one as four legged friends are welcome at quite a few locations and many are walked off-leash. Kids don't lock their bikes and there is no need to drive anywhere with a town bus that stops wherever you want.
So amazing. Bring oxygen if you re still acclimating to the altitude.
Stuff to do year round. Beautiful outdoor hikes my favorite.
Great resort. Everything was great except for the lodges on the slopes.
It has good skiers that show great lessons and people that can show us where we can ski and look for good view.
From the gondola in August at sunset. Absolutely beautiful. Priceless!
Great skiing. When I went abnormally low amount of snow but still lots of snow and little lines on the 14 trails they had open. Must be fine with riding gondola. Not much to do if you don't ski. Restraunts are all just good.
Almost no lines ever! Great mountain and the haulcat crew is legit!
Tons of snow and steeps everywhere! The Luffy lines are extremely sorry and there is a ton of terrain to cover. Amazing resort with no crowds and very nice staff.
Beautiful, quaint as well, especially this time of year with the leaves in fall fashion
Friendly people and some of the best skiing in the United States! Beautiful town too.
So not to cause any confusion - mvpd can just put up a "Minorities Not Welcome" sign, right outside of the gondola ride into Mountain View. How is the police officer goin follow us to the info board and ask for our ID? I look like many a things, but a criminal aint one......neither is my natural hair wife.
Bring lots of money and get a friend to drive, no parking to speak of.
One of the most authentic ski resorts in Colorado, amazing terrain, fantastic facilities great lodging and restaurant options.
This is the most amazing ski resort we have visited! It's the MOST beautiful, very friendly, and the lift lines are rather short. We can't wait to return.
Super cool ski town, wish the mountain was a bit bigger...
Wonderful grounds that has some of the best trail MTN biking
Not my cup of tea or the wife's. Not for the middle class like us. Town of Silverton now that's more of a warn atmosphere town for the wife and I.
Very beautiful place...has all type of ski resorts for great prices
Great adaptation to covid outside dining/drinking/mask compliance. Takes some effort to get to, but worth the trip!!
No snow yet so we did a hike to Bridal veil falls. Not easy but the reward is sooooo worth it!
Wonderful, organized, beautifully people. I recomend Telluride Properties. Ask for Polly Lee-Leechie. Best realtor in town.
Nice place love.free.gongola... mountain is for more advanced skiing..
Lived it here. Free gondola to both sides. Cozy town. Nice folks.
Sooo beautiful!! We absolutely loved visiting. The best part was the FREE gondola ride!!
What is there to say that hasn't already been said. Wow!
Amazing mountain, great runs. Not very easy if your just starting. One of the more expensive mountains I've been to. But you have to treat yourself every now and then. Unless you're staying in tride it's a drive
Great snow and skiing! Fantastic, probably the best place we have been to out west and we have been to several
Great place to visit restaurants accommodating people very very friendly great place to have a second home
Phenomenal skiing, beauty everywhere, great food and drink, and a low key attitude. One of my best times ever.
Great Place to send it. Spent four days and didn't get bored once
Ridiculously beautiful. Great wide slopes with incredible views of the surrounding landscape. The staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. This is my new favorite place to ski.
Beautiful location, a must stop if you are close by.
This is the most magical and majestic place I have ever been to or seen. We took the gondola and the views from the top were spectacular! We will definitely be going back. I'm in love!
Sadly we weren't here to ski. We visited during the summer and took the Gondola for a scenic ride from historic Telluride to Mountain Village. The ride was gorgeous and views supreme. Would have given it a 5 if it wasn't for the snarky lift operator on the Mountain Village side.
I loved it. Great skiing but it below zero at the top of the mountain. I also went back in Jan 2017. We got snowed it with 48 inches of snow in 52 hours.
Great place to Ski, Snowboard. Food is expensive but good. Great scenic views.
