If you go there you going to yourself to get a piece of your favorite pie they have really affected the Fine Art of meringue topping. The entrees were pretty good not outstanding not great but pretty good I had a burger and unfortunately was a bit overcooked. From what I understand this once was a very outstanding restaurant.

Cowan's is a great restaurant! Plus, is home to The Mile High Pie! The Mile High Pie is a chocolate pie with a meringue pyramid, and chocolate flakes on top. They have more pies. My favorite pie is pumpkin. On a different note, Cowan's sells breakfast all day, and has different specials every day.

In all SINCERITY...and trying to be Fair the best thing about this dining experience was the new young server named Maliyah..she was very pleasant during our first time eating here and it was her first day. ONLY high fructose ketchup packets offered and they limit your ketchup. No fresh condiments offered. The breaded cheesy cauliflower as stated on the menu was NOT even as described no cheese and a very small portion given for 6.49 very disappointed when asked where the cheese was the manager replied to Maliyah very loudly IT IS WHAT IT IS let me tell you my lunch partner was shocked to hear this come from the Kitchen . The Burger was rated a 5 out of 10 but the Onions rings were RAW inside we didnt address that issue to the response of the manager over the Cauliflower incident. My Bacon Bleu Chicken sandwich was extremely Salty and Bitter I had ordered a side of Sweet Potato Fries but didnt recieved them as she came out 5 minutes later to say they had none so I ordered a coleslaw which ended up being Dry and Bland. The bill with tip $40.42. The manager did not check us out at the counter nor approach us to even address the dining experience. After leaving we had a bad after taste in our palettes. I am a lover of food as being a Sous Chef 15 years I know Custimer Service is vital for success and That Excellence of food is what brings people back. This restraunt lacked Both. Do not waste your hard cash here regardless of it being the Oldest place on the waterfront it lacks Enthusism for its patrons. No wonder the seats were Empty and only a couple in the corner .

Was in the area from out of town with my family. We stopped in and we're very surprised! Everything was very good. Country home cooking flavors. It was sort of pricey but still good. The pies weren't that fabulous. Would go again if in the area.

After finally being seated we got drinks and were promptly ignored by the entire staff. Watched them seat something like seven new tables without taking our order. Eventually we just gave up. Offered to pay for our drinks and left.
