Love Cowans for lunch BUT tonight is the 2nd time we have tried dinner there. I ordered the 12 piece shrimp but only received 8. When I asked the waitress about it she said the 12 was marked out on the menu and they don't do 12 anymore. Well, it definitely said 12 on my menu, no mark outs. No apology, basically told I was wrong.

Cute place with a homey comfort and good home-style food. The decor is pure Americana with a dash of nostalgia, and the menu, albeit largely standard menu items, is very well executed -- and you won't go away hungry! The server was not only efficient, but also pleasant and charming. What an overall excellent experience!

We almost passed place up but are glad that we didn't. Nice place full of history and the food is top notch. You can tell that everything is homemade and not some processed same old stuff you can find anywhere. The staff is very friendly and inviting and the atmosphere is also great. Would definitely come back.

Enjoyed breakfast last week, all four in our party thought it hit the spot.

Stopped in Wednesday for the 5.00 burger and fries special and the fries were fire and the burger and bun too! The patty was hand pressed .

Son had a bowl of chicken noodle and it was definitely homemade.

Closed the meal with peach blackberry pie and some cheese cake that did not dissapoint.

The food was okay but the worse part was the terrible service. I went there with my family and the place wasn't even packed. The servers seemed like they never worked there. We ordered extra fried chicken and we never got it until after our meal was over. The pie was delicious but it never made up for the overcooked dry chicken and disorganized staff serving our meal.

Great food and place. Was a little bummed they wouldn't accept reservations the other day as we had a large party so we showed up and left because it seemed like the wait was going to be a long time.

First time visiting. Everything was clean and we were seated right away. We tried a wide variety of lunch and dinner plates and appetizers. Ravioli was good. The burger and kids chicken strips were very average. Spaghetti wasn't good, noodles weren't done and there was only a splash of sauce. The service was below average. Had to track down the waitress for refills, applesauce was served with no spoon and our toddler was done eating before we could find her to ask for one. I'd like to try their breakfast but wouldn't make the trip for dinner again.

Clean and pleasant environment. But if you remember it from 20-30 years ago, it lacks the same charm of what it once was. The food was decent and service good. But it just still seemed a shell of what it once was.

I saw deep fried cream corn on the menu and I had to try an order. It was very good and wish I had room for more! Instead, I ordered the Cowan's Turkey club and it was delicious. Piled high with Turkey, Ham and Bacon. Crispy fries but to many to finish and ice tea refills without asking. Staff was very friendly and busy waiting on tables and serving food. I would eat here again but maybe just orders of the corn
