I am writing this review for my husband Covenant did not reimburse him for his travel expenses to orientation as promised or pay him or his partner thiir first, second or third paychecks. Covenant is now embroiled in litigation with the Employment Dept. in the state of Tennesee for lack of paying many of their drivers wages. They will starve you out. My husbands wages were due him 2 months ago. Needless to say he had to quit due to lack of wages by Covenant.
This is by far the most stressful place I ever work for for I been with this company for 9 months trying get enough experience so I can get something better they lie they have bad communication skills for the pass month I been late on bills I been seeing 200 and 400 dollars checks when you have a family and bills that s nothing the only thing I was told was we are fighting for a better pay for solo drivers I started off as a team driver and since I been solo I have seen maybe a 100 dollar less then what I seen when I was teaming I wouldn t recommend this company to know one I been so stressed out this pass month it sad I lost my apartment messing with this company due to not getting enough miles and getting paid little to nothing they dnt care they go home every day if you fresh out of school please go some where else everything might start off well but they will mess you over in the end.. plus they hotel is trash have bed bugs and the cleaning people steal
Ever since I got off my trainers truck and upgraded I've fallen further and further in debt. I use to pay just the interest in my credit cards now I'm paying late fees. My car is probably gonna get repoed from the Covenant yard because I no longer make enough to make my car payments. That doesn't really matter because I can't afford to go home anyways. I hope one of these pay checks I will have enough to go to Walmart and buy some sneakers.
It seems like their fleet managers don't communicate with each other, I've never sat around so much in my life. They had me and my co driver sit around over 24 hours before they told us the load was cancelled and only wanted to give $50 for lay over pay.
I've never had a job so depressing in my life, I would quit but I can't afford to because of the tuition reemburshment and without experience I'd just end up being raped by some other company. Life sucks :(
One of your drivers going through Calhoun GA at mile marker 306 at approx 2:40 am 04/12/2018. Sped past a broke down truck and my work vehicle. While EVERY other driver moved to the middle lane or slowed down yours decided to stick in the slow lane going full speed with all the room in the world to get over. Your breakdown made no attempt to locate driver, hopefully they don't kill anyone next time.
Covenant Transport cares about their employees. You are more than just a number in a truck with these guys, you are family.
I have worked for these guys 2 diffrent times and the worst part was me leaving they will run you if you want the miles and always took care of me they got me home for emergencies and don't play games every company has flaws no one is perfect covenant is by far the best company
So far so good just got through orientation now it's time to hit the road and learn
2 years later I'm writing this review company is not bad. It's the promise some of th people in company tell you you'll make 42cpm or more don't actually keep there word you end up making 28cpm. That's about 200 a week sitting more then driving. Dispatch kept telling us we have no loads bunch of lies. Maybe I would made more money if I was solo driver not team driver I had no choice but to leave the company and go somewhere else. What I liked about the company is the training
Trucking is a tuff business! It's not for the simple minded person! You have to run hard and save your money!
There's so many great things about this company. The training course is probably the best in the United States. They take their time helping you to make an excellent career.
Love the fact that safety for their people seems to be the most important thing and for me as a mom that means the most, u get a team to help you that has your back when ur over the road and I like that 2
I went to this company with high hopes in making money, They will have you believing that you will.
put thru some driving courses for them to make sure. but instead they will rush thru orientation, you will sit at headquarters for month and half, no money coming in. Be very care of papers you sign by them for employment. As dedicate driver solo, hustle unloading your trailer with over 450 doors and windows for over 7/8 stops. If you have an emergency situation and have to take off, you can kiss your dedicate pay good bye. They will tell you after you did run, that they are not paying you. What looks goods, equipment, technology in long run really not good. The company carrys it self a Christian family company, then be one thats not really a good company to work for. They dont stand by what they stand by as Christian company. It's a very unprofessional company to work for. Your fleet team dont care about you, that will use you and leave you in a struggling position and there ominotrac has bugs in and they try stick you with HOS violation from other previous drivers. Eyes open, listen to driver complaints about that company when ever you run into one of there ex employee. You see them happy and doing better working somewhere, other than for convenant...
Started out there, didnt pay me much(there student plan) but learned alot.Over all a great company.
You just a number to them that's all very unprofessional lack of communication
Food and motel could be better, but I was treated very well. While Orientation didn't work out for me, I wish the Owner and all of it's employees nothing but the best. They let me go, I didn't realize Cbd oil can fail a test. Jesus gives 2nd chances, Covenant does not.
I worked for them for about a year. They have issues. But a perfect company does not exist. Covenant is a good starter company. The training is ok and most trainers wont let you upgrade to your own truck if they feel you are unsafe. Its hard to believe these reviews because most are from fired employees. My experiance with the company as a whole was not bad. Like i said they do have issues that need to be addressed. But as a whole they are ok.
Laid off a really good worker after twenty years of service after lying to him saying he was going to be promoted and having him train his younger replacement. No appreciation or respect for people, because this guy is one of the hardest working people I have ever known. It's all about the $$$$$.
Covenant Transport is an outstanding company to work for.
My wife is a driver for Covenant and she is home for all her breaks.
I am going to school to get my CDL and plan to go to work with Covenant as a team driver with my wife.
Being a family friendly company and the way they treat their drivers is the main reason that I want to go to work for Covenant.
We love working for covenant! Great place to grow and learn!
I love covenant. If your not making any money trucking not for you
Thank you for taking the time to repsond in regards to making your drivers a top priority, however, I was an in house employee...
Nice company to recommend if you really wanna be s professional driver
I appreciate seeing your encouraging trucks when driving
Over all pays not good till ur prob an otr 2..maybe third wk out..but hard to find a co driver wen ur a female wantn a male...blahh..im lookin...
Do not work for this company doesn't pay what they say. Then doesn't come get the truck for 4 weeks and when they do one of their employees assaults your fiance and runs off then they threaten to report the truck stolen.
A very warm supportive family atmosphere place to work for.
(Master trainer) Im With covenant since I get out my trucking school can't find anything bad so far if you don't make any money here its simple you're in the wrong business. ..Go covenant...!!!
Wasting time calling them, never answer phone on pasted loads...
Have no loads there running out of business just quit last 4 week only had 4800 miles sat most of time waiting on planners to find loads
This is so far is by the worst company I have ever seen the staff does not care they want to rush you threw it so they can go home the quality of staff is sad so we go to the backing range I am an experienced driver with one year experience this black guy that teaches it says yes I have been in prison for 20 years for selling bricks and I don't build houses talking about drugs no quality there then the hotel that this company owns is the worst the food is like jail food if you want to come here have a lot of $$$ for food the staff is horrible and they don't care who they hire one guy even told me he came because they were one on the only companies that didn't do hair test because he did drugs lol no quality there so if your someone who just got out of jail or does drugs perfect company for you don't worry they will hire you that's about as unsafe as it gets do not waste your time and they do no solo jobs
Wonderful company to work for. They specialize in team driving, even going as far to train husband and wives together on the same truck. I would recommend having your HazMat endorsement because they give a nice pay increase for that. In 9 months I was never asked to do anything illegal or immoral. I never had any trouble with my fleet managers or planners. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody who wants to make good money and is particularly interested in team driving.
This company will promise you the moon and stars, but don't get your hopes up. Worked for them for about four months was lied to constantly. The ONLY positive thing is the guaranteed minimum pay offered to team drivers.
Best company atmosphere, great training facilities , drivers lounges and good job schedules. Best managers and support teams.
Load was about 9hrs late then it took over an hr to get a gate pass to go thru
For anyone who is curious when requesting home time as long as you place a 7 day notice before you want to go home you will receive $100 for every day you are late at a max of $200 if you choose to bobtail home they will charge you $1.50 and you will not be payed for the trip home covenant policy
I have been trying to contact the Operations Manager several times in order to report a reckless and erratic driver and they hang out the phone to me. It is seems they don't even care about their drivers performance out there.
This is not a Christian trucking company I almost got killed by one of your drivers today it's Sunday it's Route 40 I'm in Tennessee he tried to drive me into the ground in the middle of the highway throwing the finger at me the whole time and honking his horn R11 91020 that's the number that was on his truck
The people where nice from who I meet but that's it and hotel was nice trucks where nice reason for 2 stars cant give u a half star u know but the bad was miss communication from recruiting and them not pays for fuel back home but will give u a bus ticket it's sad on communication hope they improve that
nice company and they have tel leasing jacob good customer service
Excellent carrier with an unparalleled level of high customer service. I'm proud to have the opportunity to work with Covenant
Il be with this company for 5 months and is a wonderful company they treat you like family, it's hard to find a company like this one
Just became trainer of the month, been here nine years I have nothing bad to say. You will think I m a spokesman trying to sale you a dream . All depends on who you talk to you might hear something negative. But I have nothing but POSITIVE THINGS to say. I m a person that loves people,I pretty much ran into everyone at Covenant. From a Student to the owner, I can say everybody I ran into is loving, concern and Polite. Covenant transport want you to make it And be successful. Like a great man said anybody can drive a truck, but what makes a professional driver is what sits above the shoulders. AS ALWAYS STAY BLESS! AND THX!!! FOR YOUR TIME.
My experience has been great everyone I spoke to treats you like family here
Going to miss this place it was great for me at the time. But I must move on so I can see my family every weekend.
A great place employees to take showers ,wash clothes and pick up renewed paper.
Avoid this company at all cost...they are racsits and they will tell u a lies...They are non responsive on issue you have...And they will treat u like u are nobody...Julian ...and Christine..and Eliot are some are the most uppity and unfair ppl u want to deal with...They need to be fired ASAP....
Only a great starter company. Get experience in and go!
I left after one year. Best decision I've made
One of your drivers almost just ran us off (in the left lane) the road. It would have killed us if there wasn't an opening. Your drivers are constantly going way to fast obstructing the safety of others... your vehicles act like they are nascar drivers and casually try to pass each other and block us out from passing. Do you guys just hire anyone?? Your drivers dont have a care in the world for others and should be removed from the road.
I like this company probably because ive been successful lol. Do sit sometimes but o well part of the territory. The good out weighs the bad. My team is usually on point but the night shift and can better but i think thats the case with most companies. At the end of the day i dont expect a lot, which is probably the problem/opposite for a lot of people who do this job. My credit score has risen about to purchase a bmw and my bank account is always going up i dont even check no more.basically im good financially and thats whole point at the end of the day. Ive been working since 01/2017. Come march of 2018 im out done with this OTR stuff, but leaving with a big smile on my face because i left sooooooo much better than how i came in.
If you have no self respect and don t want a life....then this is the place!:(
Absolutely LOVED working for the Covenant team. Wish I could do it again
Covenant transport I can say is good company but its so hard to find good person to be team.with people are different attitude they get fight some.off them solo doesn't make money plz be nice change ur attitude
The team who oversea Idea, creativity, and leadership are a very innovative group. I observed during my presentation that everyone shares a common goal..SUCCESS
Covenant was not very professional. They made trumped up charges on my fiance and refused to let me get her home to TN in the truck. They are not a company I would recommend to anyone. They need to be shut down by dot.... They don't even want to listen to anyone that is a trainer. They will take the side of a student instead
This is a great company and it kinda hard to find if that if u are good to them they are even better to you. Am Maurice and I have work for them for about a year and man they are some great friends face to face. Never scared to sit down and talk to figure things out thx u guy so much for u have change my life
Great place to work for they treat all there employees like family
Let's face it, every company has improvements and they all make mistakes. If you're married and would like to go on the road as a couple, this is the place for you. Primarily a HAZMAT teaming company, Covenant Transport has plenty of freight to haul. If you can deal with teaming with someone 4-6 weeks at a time, it's really about the quickest way you can earn $60,000 or even more if you stick with them and don't go home that much. If you do that as a couple, that's double that. This place has the freight. Come and get it!!! Get your HAZMAT and tank endorsements though. You NEED NEED NEED it for here. It's very worth it.
PS I forgot to mention I'm a current employee who matured a lot in the short time I've been here and learned some harsh lessons and had to walk through them and am still learning how to walk through them. It's becoming special to me because of those things so yeah, I probably am a bit biased. But I like imperfection in the company where I make mistakes that I can recover from knowing I fail at perfection as they do, and walk through those moments, as well as forgiving the people here who also make mistakes and are no worse than I am. It's altogether a wonderful company once you hack through your thick ego thinking the world caters to you and thinks like you and treats you perfectly (like you always do them perfectly and %100 of the time as well, and yes this is a sarcastic note. I don't always and neither does anyone else). God is doing an incredible work through this company, and may He continue to improve and make it fruitful, prosperous, and abundant.
Full workout Gym Clean Showers Good Food and Friendly Co-Workers
Just passed a driver like 5 minutes ago on the I 40 west bound in New Mexico at Mile marker 318 with his right leg stretched out on the dash. What a safety hazard. I called it in to safety....hope this is taken seriously before he kills someone.
They are a joke doesn't respect one's that's done this for over 15 years spotless record of you like eating sandwiches all the time run there's real companies I made my decision to alright buy my own
They had a trainer that was abusive and his name was Robert Stevens. He put his hands on me and all he ever did was scream and yell at me and the company was very disrespectful about the whole incident and on top of it they was very unprofessional and impolite about the whole incident.
If you like working for/with snakes, this is the perfect place. Dispatch was not that bright. The too many privilege children working there as dispatch. NO, There is nothing to discuss. Covenant have been in the business long enough to know how to treat people (Drivers). Some advise, stop the revolving door.
Not a good company at all. Me and my wife have been with them for 4 weeks. I have over 4 years experience and she is just getting started. They let me be her trainer here. But they expect her to be a super trucker after only 40 hrs of driving. Their turnover rate is ridiculous!!! They have at least 40 employees coming in every Monday and Wednesday for orientation. It was suppose to only be 3 days, it wound up taking 5. Then they give you loads with no time to make your deliveries on time. If your thinking about coming here....."DONT DO IT!!!"
