A wonderful restaurant & and Urbana staple. A very cool historic vibe with cool decorations, reasonable prices, and of course simple, terrific food. Great for a burger and a shake, a trip to the salad bar. I never leave this place unsatisfied in any way.

Came here for breakfast with friends. It wasn't fully packed, but we waited 40 minutes for our simple food (eggs, toasts, sausages, etc) to come out. And they were mediocre at best.

The salad bar here is great, along with pretty much everything else on the menu!

Great, attentive servers. Refilled our coffee and water several times. Great food, too! I highly recommend the butterscotch shake.

Potatoe skins were ice cold as well as plate served on. Obvious they had sat around for a while. Asked NEW fresh order because of sour cream they shouldnt put in microwave or oven to heat. They reheated them anyway.....hard, dry , really dark brown and extra crunchy with dollop of fresh sour cream. Sandwich was good but no refill on water or tea. The waitress was ran ragged. Not enough help for timely service. Not her fault ....she was on a dead run the whole time we were there .

This place is pretty cool, I like the way the place looks. It has an old fashion look. My favorite thing to eat their is the beef stack on a bubby bun. Very tasty. Their French fries are really good too!

Love the charm of this place. We have been going there for more than a decade now. Though vegetarian options are limited, we typically love whatever we have tried there and service is always friendly and great. We went there this weekend for a late breakfast, it was still crowded. We had a long wait for table and then for food. Well, this goes to show the popularity of this place. The server was very friendly and tried to get our little ones food as early as he could because he was getting restless and very hungry. As usual the food was good. Good enough that we pounced on it before I could take any pictures :). I took some pictures while we were waiting.

Just go here. This is a local long standing favorite. There are many delicious choices on the menu to suit any appetite. Great salad bar, kind wait staff, and a homey environment. There may be a wait if you go at peak times, but you will be happy if you do wait.

This place is one of our favorites. We make it a point to stop here every time that we are in Urbana.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. My father used to deliver newspapers from when it was, The Courier. So my sisters and I went there as part of nostalgia in memory of our father. It was a great experience.

Great sport in downtown Urbana. Especially good burgers and shakes. Along with the great food, the Courier Cafe's vintage style adds to the experience.

Quaint and welcoming breakfast place. Our server was attentive and friendly, really went the extra mile and made our experience fantastic. I plan on going back again.

Fresh food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. Had the Courier burger with fries and it was delicious. Vegetables were so crisp and fresh, the meat was juicy and cooked to perfection without being greasy. Service was very prompt too.

Overall I've had a good experience while eating here. The only complaints I have is that their water tastes like tap water as it's like drinking chlorine. Their dinner rolls that come with the salad bar are horrible, dry, and occasionally as hard as a rock. The hamburger buns are occasionally very chewy and not that good though did see some improvement that last time I was there. Finally some of their drinks are too expensive. I shouldn't have to pay $2.32 for a kids apple juice with not even a refill offered. Having a breakfast kids menu would be nice too rather than paying full adult prices for big platters that kids can't necessarily finish anyway. Besides these points though I really like the place.

Delicious and popular breakfast spot. My favorite menu item is the breakfast burrito. Coffee of the day is usually delightful as well. There can be a bit of a wait due popularity, but it is worth the wait every time! A must-go spot if you are passing through town.

My friends and I decided to go here as we try to experiment with new restaurants in the local area and have throughout our time at U of I. There were 6 of us and only one table at the restaurant could accommodate more than 6 people, so we had to wait for the party to finish. Not a huge issue, but if you have a larger party, beware! The service was horrendous, we had to ask multiple times for more drinks and the food took forever. It wasn't super busy when we were there, so there are no excuses for either of the issues. The food however was very good and the portions were very large. The prices were also very reasonable for the amount of food provided. Overall a below average experience.

Charming cafe with very polite people (customers and Staff)! Soups change daily and the food smells great. Their cookies are a little undercooked to make them softer, but they are very tasty. It is the type of place where you can sit on the bench outside the front door and diverse strangers will greet you and wish you a good day! Midwestern civility is alive and well on this corner of town!

A local classic. Grilled swiss & pesto sandwich is my fav. Good coffee & shakes. Free parking in their lot next door.

Marshal went out of his way to make sure I had an order of skinny dippers for my birthday. The chef made the best batch of potato skins I have ever had and the Courier skinny dipper potatoes are always good. Thank you both!

Great food at a reasonable price! Staff and managers are always great!

In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in town. It s not too fancy so don t feel pressured to dress like is. The food is standard comfort food, but that doesn t mean it s not quality. Would highly recommend if you want some quality food at a good price. They don t allow for reservations though, so take that into account when deciding whether or not to come here.

Food was good and service was great. Wallpaper needs to go but everything else inside is nice to look at.

You can never be sure with food poisoning but pretty sure the turkey sandwich made me very ill the next day. Also overpriced and soggy, definitely not going back.

Awesome everything. We enjoyed the best breakfast we had had in a long time. Great atmosphere, fabulous food, friendly waitress and reasonable prices. What more could you ask for. We will be returning soon.

Being Dad's weekend there was quite a wait but the staff was friendly and the food was good.

Courier Cafe has been a long standing tradition of a great atmosphere and a solid variety of food on their menu. Be sure to try one of their milkshakes! We've been dining at Courier Cafe over the past thirty years.

Used to LOVE...we were regular customers for a long time....food quality changed under new management....we stopped going for awhile.

Have been here quite a few times over the past few years. Consistently good food, and nice sized portions for the price.
