The Counciling Center staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. My doctor listens carefully to my answers and is supportive, knows how to help medically and involves me in when discussing decsions. In my opinion, he is
knowledgeable in his field and medications in general.
I am very satisfied with both Dr. Ellen and the staff at the Counciling Center.

So far so good. My daughter's counselor is wonderful. Most importantly my 11 year old feels comfortable and safe sharing details of her issues with her. I sm thankful my daughter has a neutral person she can completely tryst and rely on for tools to deal with her problems and support moving forward as she gets older. My daughter's wants and needs continue to change as she gets older, as a mother it is good to know my child has someone other than me that she can whole heartedly count on when she is upset or under stress. Im thankful for the care our family has received from the counseling center.

I have been a client at TCCON since 2000 and love the services there. I refer many friends, colleagues and clients to Evan. There have been a few billing glitches over the years, but as long as I address it directly with either Evan or billing, it gets taken care of. I live about 45 minutes away but still make time to go weekly. Can't say enough good things about this place:)

This is the worst psychiatry office I have ever dealt with, I am beyond disappointed. Not only was I not notified my doctor was back from medical leave, I was refused a refill for not having an appointment with my doctor who was out and came back but didn t tell me. They will not work with me and my scheduled nor did they suggest anything I could do. So I am now out of a mood stabilizer and almost out of an SSRI. These both can have withdrawal symptoms and can cause sickness because of it, needless to say I m no longer going to be with them. this has been going on for months now

Helpful. Through the initial stages of the pandemic to now, 12/20 they have shown total concern for the safety of patients and their own personnel

I find the people at the Counseling Center of Nashua to be very professional and caring group. My therapist and psychiatrist work together to make sure I am getting the very best care. I know that my mental health care is in good hands. I've been a client there for over 6 years.

Courteous staff, caring and knowledgeable counselors and scheduled appointments are kept with the precision of a Swiss watch. My only gripes are their frustrating automated phone system and the occasionally tight parking.

June 2018 UPDATE: I tried this place again since my PCP recommended to me... I thought okay I guess I ll give it a try again since it s been some years. I received a call back about having to make an appointment. Got disconnected again because service at my work place isn t good. You d think you d receive a call back the minute or so after but nope. The lady on the phone probably just wanted to go home ASAP since the call occurred at 4:40, how convenient that it got disconnected. It is such a process just to set up an appointment. No human to speak to when you call them. This whole process is just aggravating. It s been months since I ve tried to set up a first time appointment. It ll be 10 years from now till I have my first appointment it seems like.

These people suck. I was on the phone with a clinician around 5pm which is around the time they close. She was supposed to get more further info about my mental health so that I could begin counseling ASAP. As I was talking to her, the call got disconnected but she never even bothered to call back. Me having anger issues I got infuriated over that. So unprofessional, especially working in the mental health field where you are supposed to help people. I am sick of having to play phone tag with these people (since my work schedule is the same as theirs) and I won't even consider going here anymore since the clinician didn't even make the effort to call back. Screw this place I will go somewhere else.

I have worked with multiple providers at The Counseling Center of Nashua and have found them, and the practice as a whole, to be helpful, friendly, and professional. Appointment times are flexible and they are very easy to work with.

No appointment even if it is an emergency if you owe money. They never called for appointment then charged $150 for missed appointment. I will be contacting BBB as I have my phone records they never called at all. Mental Health in NH is bad enough as it is but these people do not care if your children are in danger they jist want money!

The administrative staff is excellent. Very friendly, follow up quickly and always willing to answer all your questions. The automated service for appointment reminders is also great. Several options for reminders including text, email and phone.

Most importantly, the therapists are great. Kind, compassionate and highly experienced.

*DO NOT GO HERE*

*DO NOT GO HERE*
*ALL THE WANT IS YOUR MONEY*
I had a first time appointment never have meeting my therapist before. I was on my way to the appointment when I hit dead stop traffic which made me 30min late. I still showed up hoping to get my 15 minutes with my therapist to meet her and apologize for being stuck in traffic. When I got there they told me she couldn t meet with me and then proceed to tell me I had to pay $100 in situations like this. I didn t t think about it and payed the $100. Once I got home, I called my mom and she told me they shouldn't have made me pay anything when I didn t receive any services. I began to realize I never had signed any paper work regarding late fees or no shows. When they told me to pay the $100 I didn t ask questions because it was my first time there and didn t think anything of it. I finally realized I wanted my money back, so I called the Billing Department and the woman that was helping me was extremely RUDE and UNHELPFUL. She told me that the therapist still had to get paid even when patients don t show up for there appointments. I told her that I did show up but I was late due to heavy traffic. She continued to tell me that I should have paid up too $300 but they gave it to be for $100 and I told her that the price doesn t matter and I still would like my money back. She then told me it was my fault I was stuck in traffic and was late to the appointment. I couldn t believe how unprofessional someone could be in customer service. So basically my therapist is getting paid money when she didn t even meet with me. That just doesn t make sense. If I don t go to work one day I don t get paid for it, so why does this woman get paid when she never even met me before or gave any services? Then the woman over the phone told me she would talk to her supervisor multiple times and that she would call me back which she never did. So I called her back and she told me the same thing once again and she repeatedly hangs up the phone on me as well. She told me I signed paper work regarding this situation and I told her I never signed anything because I never met with my therapist. I told her the only thing I filled out was the online request form and I went back and looked over the form to see if it said anything about no show or late patients and it didn t say anything about it. This is suppose to be a place to feel comfort, considering it is a Counsiling Center. But in my experience this place is far from comforting. DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible people and they do not care about there customers all they care about is getting your money out of you. Don t we all wish we could get paid and not have to work ?? I mean come on what kind of place makes you pay hundreds of dollars when you didn t receive any help or treatment. DO NOT GO HERE
DO NOT GO HERE. !!!!!!!

Set up to make money and nothing else. $250 dollar charge for cancelling and appointment, $50 charge if you happen to pick up the phone when your doctor calls, and a $35 charge for refilling a prescription without physically going into the office. This place is a disgrace and should be out out of business.

The staff once you get into the office are nice, professional and caring. The problem I had was with getting INTO the office. I had to schedule an appointment to have someone call me to MAKE an appointment!!! I have never once called and spoke to someone on the first try, I always left a message.
First I called to schedule, left a message, then was told I needed fill out a form online. This form was extensive and I also had to go online and schedule a time for someone to call me and schedule an intake appointment (really NOT kidding). After that person called and took more info, I got an appointment to see a provider but then had to fill out more info on another online form. Once at the appointment, I had more forms to fill out in the waiting room. It was honestly the most convoluted and difficult approach. Trying to cancel an appointment is just as bad. It is impossible to call the main number and speak to an actual person, you leave messages and someone will call you back at some point, hopefully you are available to pick up the call otherwise you have started a massive game of phone tag. Luckily, my appointments were for a family member and not urgent at all. I can't imagine if someone was in crisis and reaching out for support, being able to traverse this confusing and difficult process. There has to be a better and more personal way.

My doctor is great. The business itself? not so much! I always get billing errors. The receptionists never pick up the phone. If I call and leave a message for any question it takes days to get a reply. I have gone here since 1999. In the past 5 years quality has gone down hill. This place seems to only care about profits not people.

I feel horrible leaving bad feedback. My Dr is good (Carol Drouin), but as the others state the administrative staff is highly unreliable. I have gone to both the Manchester and the Nashua offices, getting in touch with the administrative staff is more than a challenge. If I call my Dr's direct voicemail I at least get a call back. So thanks to my Dr and to the owners of this establishment your administrative dept needs an overhaul completely. Especially for the money paid just to go.

I feel awful about leaving negative feedback because my. Therapist is AMAZING BEYOND ALL BELIEF!!!! The process of doing anything at all in the office, however, is the worst nightmare ever. I'm an existing patient that had an internal referral to a second provider within their practice, and it took 4 days to get a phone call (during which all I could do was schedule a second phone call) 3 days to get said phone call, then 8 weeks to get an appointment..... Awful, awful, awful, awful, worst ever, system. Best providers ever though.

BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE!!! This is not a place that offers help they have the most UN-PROFESSIONAL, RUDE Administrative team I have ever dealt with in the business world as I am a professional myself. I have not even had my 1st appt for my daughter yet and have been treated very rude as I was notified I would have to pay the first 2 appts in advance as our Insurance does not have Mental Health coverage. I was called 4 times in 2 days by several different people, non of which new the others had called nor that it was already confirmed I was keeping the appt and had no problem paying the fees required! The Doctor I am bringing my child to came very highly recommended by an existing client and her pediatrician who is not even local he is out of Exeter and I will be filling him in on the unacceptable treatment I received from the administrative staff at his Practice, the Doctor's unfortunately usually are unaware of what takes place with that side of the business and he deserves to know as it effects his reputation. I urge anyone who has had negative experiences to also let others know and especially the Doctor you or your child has.

I was a patient here a few years ago. We moved out if state, so I resumed my mental health care elsewhere.

If you are coming from Main St, accessing the parking lot is difficult due to traffic turning right. Accessing the parking lot from any angle is a pain, as this part of Nashua is always busy.

I was a prospective returning patient, and I waited 6 days to receive a call back about making an appointment. This policy is incredibly offputting. If this office really does have a high number of patients both old and new, additional reception staff should be hired. I understand having patience, but not being able to speak to a human being when making a first time appointment is very disappointing. Those who seek mental health care may have a difficult time waiting a week to hear back from someone just to make an appointment- nevermind however long it takes to get the actual appointment itself. Seek care elsewhere.

Went here for a psych eval a while ago and they pretty much told me I was faking being mentally ill and lying about my CSA. It felt like I wasn't taken seriously or listened to at all. Because I was a minor at the time, they also interviewed my parents and took everything they said as 100% fact over anything I said. Overall a very negative and upsetting experience, especially as someone who was looking for help and not to be antagonized.

When I was frantically looking for help I called a dozen agencies that all kept playing phone tag or couldn t schedule me for months out. Counseling Center scheduled a call to schedule an appointment which cut out the phone tag issue and they have so many locations, they were able to get me an appointment within three weeks. Reception always have warm smiles and get you through smoothly. My therapist was very helpful, always returned calls quickly, and was flexible with getting me in for extra sessions when I was having a meltdown. When my insurance no longer covered, they worked with me on a payment I could afford. Super impressed all around!

My family I have been patients at The Counseling Center for many years.
When my son was young we confirmed our beliefs when he was clinically diagnosed with ADD there- Evan Greenwald was extremely helpful giving me constructive ideas to deal with his behaviors.

I've also seen another doctor there and between the two they have greatly improved my life by giving me the tools that I needed (but didn't know I needed) to live (not just survive life).
I have and would recommend The Counseling Center to friends and coworkers in need of Professional help.

DO NOT Let this man treat your child. Every thing ...

DO NOT Let this man treat your child. Every thing you will read here is true. My son went to him at 16 and he threw so many melds at him .Once Dr. Mendel asked my son if he had difficulties concentrating, Jason said yes, so Dr Mendel gave him a diagnosis of ADHD and started him on a medication called Vyvanse . No test , the appointment lasted less than 10 min. Over the years he increase his Meds to the the point that my son had constant tremors. Dr Mendel told Jay he should see his PCP that the tremors were not side effects. In 2016 my son stopped seeing Dr Mendel and went off the meds. The tremors went away. But Jason liked Dr Mendel. He went back to see him in June 2017 for reoccurrence of depression. Dr Mendel put him back on Prozac... Jason used to laugh and joke how little this man paid attention to him. Dr Mendel even said to him once "I'm glad your feeling better " after Jay just told him he was more depressed, after he just handed Jay script to increase his meds.
On November 4,2017, my son killed himself. 23 years old. Nobody saw it coming. We saw the signs after, when everyone got together. I'm not saying it's Dr Mendel s fault. But we called this office two days after Jason s death. He never called us . The office told us the only way to look at the records is a lawyer .One month later I received a voice mail from Dr Mendel asking Jason where he was, and "hope your ok". I received two bills for a missed appointment, after I had already let this office know again, that Jason had died. I probably would not have written this review if not for reading copies of Jason s records. Dr. Mendel recorded that he spent 25 min with my son on three appointments and 15 minutes on other appointments..THAT IS NOT TRUE. Jason use to complain that he spent more time in the waiting room than with the Doctor. Some appointments lasted less than 5 min . Jason timed them. Also in the records was a copy of a condolence card From Dr Mendel. I never Received it. It was dated on the same day Dr. Mendel wrote in Jason s record, that he was notified of Jason's death. It seems to me, that this mans real goal is money and protecting himself. We will never know if Jason s suicide could have been prevented. Probably not. I'm his mom and I didn't see the signs before it was too late. However this I do know, My son was a beautiful person and he deserved better care than this. Please be careful protect your children.
