Parking cowboys operate at this venue beware. My wife parked here for 11 minutes with children asleep in the that were staying there whilst my niece ran to her room to get some items. The hotel was more expensive than some but we will not book them here again.

On arrival car park extremely busy and the hotel has opened the nearby overflow. You have to enter your car registration at reception when checking in. Reception is spacious with efficient staff. My room was a bit dated however clean, spacious and more than adequate with plenty of storage, trousers press, iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, comfortable beds, good lighting with useful switches close to hand. Not great in power sockets with limited access to any on or around the desk area? Bed was comfortable and the bathroom again a little dated but clean, functional and great, powerful shower. Hotel bar is on 2 levels with central bar as you enter. Service was a bit slow as it was busy. Staff managed to accommodate 20 of us on a long table at short notice and service was efficient. Food choice was good and the quality of food was great. Breakfast is also served in the main lounge and is buffet style with the usual hot and cold options.

Very very beautiful place to stay. Upon entry you are greeted with smiles and manners. You are made to feel welcomed no matter your background. Very informative members of staff that are always full of help and kindness. There is free use of a gym, swimming pool and sauna upon staying. The swimming area has female and male changing rooms, jacuzzi, large shower cubicles and lockers with towels provided. There is a cocktail bar slash restaurant on sight and the staff are amazing at their job the best cocktails i have ever tried (literally would go here just for them). Never too busy unless a wedding event is taking place but even still by night time it all calms down. The room has a very clean feel to it and there is always a good view (choice of canal views). You can walk through the bar and down steps to find a canal and on the opposite side you have wetherspoons and other pubs available accessible by a bridge. The pubs and restaurants have a car park and tables out the front to enjoy a canal side drink. This is a very relaxing and beautiful place to go i would recommend to anyone. I have stayed 6 times and it is always my first choice of hotel.

The rooms were not cleaned thoroughly, evidenced by the grape on the bedside table and scummy bathroom floor. The hot breakfast is inedible, continental has good options but for the money you pay is not worth it. The hotel itself is dated, the bedding is thin, overall the only redeemable quality was the location. If travelling for leisure id say stay elsewhere, for business it was practical, at the end of the day it was a bed in a room, but i wouldn't want to stay again

Very friendly staff. Clean nicely furnished rooms. Bar is quite pricey, but was open all night. External architecture is that late 80s sandstone, and blue that was so popular. Hotel is very convenient for the Merry Hill centre, just a few minutes walk. We had a great stay and I'd have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

Staff welcoming and very helpful. Parking available. Walking distance to an intu for food or shopping. Buffet breakfast was good and varied. Room was clean, however a bit dated. Access to pool and children welcome. Would stay again.

The carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced in the room that we stayed in, it was very dirty. We stayed on the fourth floor and the whole floor smells like smoke. They used to have refrigerators and microwave in the room, but no more. Our premium snacks were a bag of popcorn and a jar of jelly beans in the room where it used to be a nice snack plate from the pub at the hotel. Other than that, it was ok.

Never stayed here but I've been to wedding receptions, party nights and business conferences and I'm Impressed. Service and facilities are really Good, may be a little tired in places but all in all a good around hotel, very close to merry hill shopping centre, black country museum and easy access to Birmingham and wolverhampton. I recommend the spa well worth a visit.

Nice Hotel and spa facilities.

Nice Hotel and spa facilities.
Reception and spa staff very friendly and helpful.
Very pleased with treatments, and excellent value for money.
Slight mix up with deposits/balance for our spa day, but was sorted out in the end.
Disappointed with restaurant staff, one member was totally unprofessional, rude, and unapologetic. We had been advised on the price of an item on the hotel menu, in advance of us arriving at the hotel, only to be told a different price when we tried to order our lunch.

We were left feeling totally disappointed, dissatisfied, and deflated.
There was no customer service, she was totally unprofessional, and rude.
If it hadn't have been for Scott, who totally took charge of the situation, and dealt with us in an orderly, professional, and empathetic way, this could have turned out to be a disappointing experience for us all.
We would like to say a big 'Thank You' to Scott for making the effort to ensure that this problem was dealt with swiftly. Not only did Scott take charge, and diffuse the situation, he made sure we were satisfied with our order, and that our experience had not been ruined by this individual. He turned a very negative situation into a positive one.
Please make sure Scott gets some recognition for this, as he went over and beyond to ensure we went home happy.

The horel bar resturant was very good ,food was excellent but was disappointed with the spa,no robes, coffee machine had no milk in it.Facial was nice apart from not putting a headband on and not being told at each stage of applying creams what they would do.Hot flannel being applied to the face without being warned.

Afternoon Tea for Two. Lovely staff. Not much food and not that good. Shop bought cakes and scones, squirmy cream instead of clotted and a total of four tiny finger sandwiches - 2 fingers each! We are not greedy people but even we had finished the lot in 20 minutes! Much better places to go for Afternoon Tea

The copthorn is a basic hotel wrapped in a "posh" 1980s decor I have stayed here a few times for a week minimum at a time and have never felt unwelcome.

The breakfast was a help your self buffet and was acceptable if you didnt eat the eggs as they are fried and left to sweat in a heated tray.

The evening meals were acceptable with nightly deals to grab your self a bargain if you consider it a bargain still pretty pricey for the quality but edible.

All in all I will stay at the copthorn again as it is an acceptable hotel for short to mid sized trips the offer washing services and room service both for a 5 pounds fee.
