Stayed on 21st, one night in family room. Good location and parking. Greeted at reception with a smile, everything was explained very well , the guy was pleasant courtieous and chatty.
Our room was large enough, clean and had a nice bathroom fridge and tea coffee .
Didn't eat there because grandson is faddy so went over to Wetherspoons across the canal. The hotel bar, dining area had a pleasant view over the canal basin.
Good choice for breakfast and everything well cooked. Would stay again if in the area

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Our suite and the rest of the hotel was extremely clean. Our bed was huge and very comfy. A sheet as well as the duvet would be good as the duvet was quite heavy. Disappointed that on a couple of nights there was only one hot chocolate sachet left instead of two and that the luxury chocolates were simply a kit kat which appeared only on the first night of our stay. Choice of herbal teabags in room was good but a better brand of actual tea would have been appreciated. Two bottles of water were provided in the mini fridge on arrival, again it would be better to have them provided each day of our stay - a small thing but quite important. Having the mini fridge was useful for storing extra drinks etc The hotel bar was great to sit and enjoy a drink. Breakfast was amazing.

Nice place. Hot swimmingpool., one of the fans in the room wasnt working,we went to the reception and they addmitedly could not fix the problem due too the time of year and weather. They did not replace the existing one with a new one because they are lazy

Cost place, pleasant staff, clean and we'll maintained, but age is starting to show through. Room was quite spacious with a view to the waterfront. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was exceptional, but fixtures and faucets could do with replacement with more modern counterparts.
Free WiFi worked most of the time, but wasn't really fast. Sometimes it helped to revisit the entry page and reselect the free package.
Breakfast was ok, though expect a queue for tea and coffee as there is only one machine. Not much selection for bread and no cold cuts, but there is a variety of warm sished a available.
Overall a pleasant stay.

Lunch - not again. Kitchen couldn't even be bothered to warm up pitta slices (with hummus) or nachos (without melted cheese and salsa from a bottle). Soggy fish cakes. If this is how the kitchen prepares easy food, I wouldn't trust it for a main meal.

Rooms are dated but comfortable. Location is good for shopping. Swimming pool and sauna have been renovated to a good standard. The main thing that lets the copthorne merry hill down is the food. Substandard especially the breakfast.

Only stayed one night as l was there for a function. But the twin room was lovely and the greeting on arrival was very friendly. Breakfast the next morning was a help your self but the staff took us to the table and made sure what was what. I Have been there three times and have no worries to go again.

Lovely hotel, staff are so friendly and helpful. Wifi is bad and comes at an extra cost. Come with a car as it's on top of a hill and walking from the shopping centre is quite the chore. Otherwise, great hotel.

Came for a birthday, the sun was shining outside but the restaurant was dark and empty. Table was a bit crowded for our group. The decor is a bit strange, low ceilings painted with murals. The food was good, service was okay.

I really liked this hotel. Very spacious, comfortable room with everything I wanted including plenty of power sockets. My food was very nice at dinner and breakfast, although the lighting in the main part of the restaurant was odd - daylight LEDs on the wall gave a 1970s fluorescent light effect - unpleasant.

Nice bathroom with the most powerful shower I have come across in the UK! Up to and beyond American standards - I actually had to turn it down a bit.

Friendly and efficient staff, Particularly Phyllis on reception who cheerfully went the extra mile to help me with some things.

Very disappointing experience with this hotel. Use of the spa and gym facilities is a huge joke. If this hotel is 5 or even 4 stars they seriously need to be reviewed.
Firstly the young woman at the reception looks down her nose at you. She as a huge attitude problem who was more interested in messing with her hair than talking to you. The room was missing simple things like tea milk toiletries. Deco was very tired and dated. Pillows felt like they came from poundland . Matteress past its sell by date. Hairdryer doesnt work and no spa dressing gowns .
We decided to use the spa and swimming pool. We was mortified by our experience. Firstly there aint no changing rooms we was told to get changed on the room above the pool. We had to share a open messy room to get undressed in a mixed sex and age (kids) group of strangers. From there we had to walk through the hotel with our swimwear on and a towel wrapped around us . Humiliating and disgraceful for 2 middleaged women. Never again will we stay at this hotel . Highly reccomend you choose another hotel.

Nice hotel in a nice location, good for town and walks. Nice big clean hot rooms, with large en-suites. A bit limited menu in the evening, but OK for a couple of nights, breakfast is good, and there is a good choice of foods. Slight hiccup when I was checked in, I went to "my" room and someone was still in it, I was given another room on another floor, but no apology or explanation from anyone, could of been worse I suppose, checking out was painless, and most of the staff are really friendly and helpful. I would go back.

Reception staff are lovely. Checked In quickly. Our room was lovely. Great view from the room. Plenty of space. We used the bar for food and drinks. Food was nice but could of been hotter. Restaurant area was laid out nicely but a bit cold.

Went for a family Christmas meal !! We couldn't have the festival Christmas meal because we hadn't prebooked it even though we had booked the table month's ago so had to order of the normal menu which would have been fine if the food was good , but it was terrible 3 of us ordered the rump steak it was inedible, the fish was more batter than fish & when we went to order the desserts half of them wasn't available . The service itself was ok but it was the worst meal we have had in a long time we not be returning anytime soon & would not remmend it to any one .

The Copthorne is very conveniently located - close to Merry Hill shopping centre, but with the more picturesque canal very close by. My grandson and I enjoyed a peaceful walk before breakfast - counting boats, fishermen etc.
The pool and hot tub was a welcome bonus after a day out at Dudley Zoo.
Hotel staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Our room was immaculate and had everything that we could need - as well as ironing board, hairdryer etc. The buffet breakfast was delicious - the cooked food was nice and hot - something that is not always so in other hotels. Choice of food was extensive and included fresh honeycomb - something else which fascinated my grandson! When we left he was very subdued - telling me he 'was sad to be leaving.' Echoed my feelings too - a short stay but very pleasant. Thank you to all staff at Copthorne.
