Be very careful this company has been sued into oblivion and any company selling your information to them can be sued at this point. Also, I see they replied some generic response about not being a scam. The court system and a small google search will show you the depths of this companies deceit. Don't take my word for it; go look for yourself.
Convergent outsourcing collection agency is by far the worst agency I have ever seen. I settled my debt with them two months ago. I requested a payoff letter from them after I paid my debt. They told me I had to wait for seven business days. So I waited and when I did called back they told me I would have to wait for another seven business days because whoever I spoke to didn't leave a note that I requested a payoff letter. It is now December and I still didn't receive my payoff letter. I even went to their corporate office and these people still gave me the same answer. The manager had the nerve to lie talking about she was going to send it the same day. Anne Dean is her name she is a liar just like all the people who works for convergent outsourcing. They are quick to take people's money and bother them for unpaid debt. But they can't uphold their end. And let me tell you about the rude assholes who answers the phone. They will keep transferring you to different people when they can't give you what your asking for. All I have to say is that this company is a fake. Don't ever give them your money because they will not help you after you've given them what they want.
If this company is based out of Washington, and is collecting a debt for a Washington company, then why is it calling me with a North Dakota Number? Why is it calling about a debt I don't owe? The company in question actually owes me a refund, and this company is trying to tell me I gotta pay 100 bucks? Something's going on here.

The lady I spoke to wasn't an idiot, but she was extremely rude. I work in Collections myself and I can tell she was just either having a bad day, or she just doesn't understand how to communicate with people in a respectful manner whatsoever. I have no idea how she's supposed to collect any money from anyone using that kind of tone.
Shady tricks by this company. Never seen them before nor had account with their original debtor. Nor have they have every tried to contact me or verify the debt. Yet, it shows up on my credit report.

They called my new cell number with no details. I called back on another line and asked what business they were in and the operator said it was personal and they needed my cell number. I said since they were talking to me they didn't need my number but they did need to tell me what they were selling. The guy hung up.

She has confirmed in person directly with the business in question that her account is active and current and that she owes them NO past due money. She has wisely passed the demand letter on to her lawyer.

If they're calling u about a bill it's because the company they're calling you about hired them to collect the past due. If u don't owe it its a simple as having the company billing u for this clear it out. It's not a scam and they don't buy debt.

I received a collection letter for T-Mobile. I've had Verizon for six years and this is the first I've heard about a debt I allegedly owe T-Mobile. Hmm. T-Mobile has their own collections office number, according to Google.
One day my credit report plummeted by 65 points. When I looked into it this company filed a fraudulent report to Experian. They never even tried to validate some company called COMCAST. All they would have had to do is look at my credit report and they would have known I never lived where it said I lived. Poor company, Failure to conduct due diligence. I think it's annoying that they do everything possible to strong arm you if you are trying to pay off a balance. Every interaction I've had, to date, has been uncouth. The ivr system doesn't even tell you what their hours are. I mean, it really seems like if they can make anything more difficult for you, they're happy to do that. They often omit information that you may actually need to know. Which ends up doing you harm. I don't know what the experience is like for companies who hire them to collect debts, but I definitely get the impression that they kinda get off on punishing people who made a financial mistake... ESPECIALLY if you're trying to work with them. They suck.

They put 3 potential negative inquiries on my account. I called them and got transferred to 4 different people. The 4th lady was beyond rude and told me to "Call Tmobile!" and hung up. She would not give me any information on then T-mobile, no account number no number to call nothing! Ridiculous! I have never had a Tmobile account in my life.

This company bought an OLD debt I had in college (10 years ago). Had the nerve say it was from 2016 and report to Experian.
Ill file the dispute with Experian. If they are doing this to other people my advice is dispute the item with credit reporting agency! This company seems to buy junk debt beyond SOL and tries to hustle consumers to pay. Know your rights.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I got a debt collection letter for a debt I've never heard of on the behalf of Paypal. I called to ask about it, and provided the Convergent account # on the letter. She then asked me for my Paypal email address associated with the account, and that seemed like a red flag to me since they're not Paypal. I said I wasn't comfortable giving my Paypal email address since they're a debt collection agency and not Paypal itself. The woman then just hung up on me with no explanation! How rude and unprofessional is that??
You would think that a debt collector would take the time explaining why they're asking for certain information if you're trying to verify a debt to figure out whether you should be paying them, but it seems the people at this company aren't trained properly.

Convergent sent me a request to pay a bill for $528.40 and said it was for T-Mobile. However when I called T-Mobile they said I owed nothing and nothing had been sent to collections.
I hope we can call the Attorney General and get them shut down and also make it so they can't start up under another name.
They did transfer me to a lot of calls but they got me to the right person to help me pay my debt. They were very friendly and willing to work with me. Just be polite and patient to them and I'm sure they will be polite back. Thanks for letting me work arrangements.
It first happened to my girlfriend, she gets a letter in the mail from these *** men and women saying that she owes Comcast $140 or some absurdly low amount like that. We live in Ohio.
Comcast doesn't even offer service here! About two weeks later, I get a "love letter" from the same scam outfit saying that I owed DTE energy a similar pittance. I look up this company, DTE, and find out they don't offer service in our state either! Then a couple weeks later, I get *another* scam attempt from CONvergent outsourcing.
This time they are requesting an amount, another pittance, for an alleged debt I owe to Comcast. Again, there is NO COMCAST IN OHIO. So now I'm thinking that there is some type of identity thief using my information in another state and I call Comcast. They have no record of any account for me or my GF, and said to ignore it.
On the other hand, CONvergent Outsourcing actually reported the fake DTE bill scam attempt to my credit report.I've disputed it with all credit reporting agencies, have filed a BBB complaint, a CFPB complaint, and will be sending an intent to sue letter after I go file this case at my local small claims court.

I have been calling them since October 2017 trying to pay a old Sprint bill, Yes, I'm chasing them. I have spoke to 3 people , first one was a rude douche and made it clear I wasn't getting helped but the other two were polite and tried to be helpful but I still haven't heard back. I paid all my credit and am waiting on this one. What kind of collection company doesn't want there money !?!?? I asked for a letter, a email, fax with my info and this seems to be a crazy request! It took only a day to pay others off. This place is rediculous. The fact I know they have people calling and stalking others for there debt and ignoring me. I'm sure Sprint would love to know how hard they're working on there debts. Lol.
Man, after reading these reviews I must say I'm nervous. I made a payment for a debt I had. I was actually transferred to them. The lady I spoke with was nice and gave me a reference number for the transaction. I didn't feel like it was a scam. The only thing is she did say she would email me a confirmation, it's been a week and I haven't received anything. No extra funds have been taken out my account. Hoping for the best!

Randomly took money off my card. I have never heard of this company nor had any association with them. I am currently on hold with my dispute department. Never do business with this company . You don't even have to do business with them and they will still charge you so who knows...
I'd give less than 1 star if possible. I requested to take a settlement offer 4 months ago, and just found out the it didn't go through and had to pay a balance to clear it up. Any business that falsifies settlement offers are so dishonest and disreputable. This company is worse than that. Filed a complaint with the BBB as well.

Received a bill for a service / product never purchased. Internet search revealed an avalanche of complaints about this company for same / similar abuses. I have informed the BBB and noted that their website contains many other nearly identical complaints about this company.

This company is a total SCAM. They sent me a letter stating that I owed a cc from 1999. Really? So I called them up and stated I didn't have a Discover card. The rep stated that they would send me fraud account paperwork. After nearly a week, I called back and a rude rep told me the paperwork had been sent off. Nearly three weeks later I get some random letter stating that their agency is no longer handling the account and any reports to a credit agency has been "deleted". I've tried calling them back numerous times to confirm.
Please do not give this company your money until you have verified the debt. Very suspect.

Isn't a scam. Worked there and it's all legit. Pay your bills on time and don't leave any closed accounts with a balance that way you will not receive any calls. If u believe it's a scam, then u do run the risk of having your services terminated or what not.
If I could gave them - or 0 star I would. I paid off my debt over years and they said they wouldn't be able to take it off my credit report for some reason. Already hard to contact them and the call representatives were really rude and unprofessional.
