Please note do NOT cut your 5*5cm photos to fit into the lines on the application confirmation form. Just leave it be and the staff there can glue for you or bring a glue stick with you. It was quite confusing, luckily I brought extra photo. If you are non-Brazilian applying visa, go to Room 1105 instead of 1109. The rest was fine given I brought all necessary documents including photocopy of the PR card for non-Canadian. Hope this helps.

Terrible!!!
Bad service, inefficiency, eternal wait for simple procedures ... Shame! The face of Brazil.

a lot of bureaucracy, to renew my title of voter a headache that only, I think it is easier to go to brazil do it, to renew passport charge ABSURDOS $ 180.00, a robbery if you compare how much to charge to renew the Canadian passport. WITHOUT COUNTING THE DELAY TO RECEIVE THE PASSPORT, charging this amount should leave the next day

The absolute worst! Previous review is 100% accurate. The most unhelpful group. What do they do all day? Seriously?

It takes them days to respond to any email correspondence and when they do, it's a copy and paste from their website. You can't reach anyone by phone. Called everyday for a week, not a single answer. Recorded message asks you to email them with any questions and they'll respond promptly. Do they know what promptly means?

I mean, most of the time when I go there, the staff are nice but the wait times and their ridiculous business hours are extremely frustrating. The worst is when you email them for any inquiries, they take almost one week to reply to you.

I am Brazilian and I am trying to renew my passport. I am not very familiar with computers and this 5 page form is ridiculous as if everyone had to know photo formats and signatures to send with the form living on a farm was a difficulty to find help and to The person on the phone said "help someone" what is this ??? the only consulate serving the Brazilian people in the state works only from 9am to 1pm I need to see a sick relative and not the time to make an appointment until the end April 2017 I am outraged, besides the ridiculous form you still have to send an email to make an appointment to take documents. I totally think "unsave" to send your data, photo and signature by computer today. And work from 9 am to 1 pm? AND AN INSULT !! if you need time to process the documents hire more people but leave the people in this abandon. If a loved one has to wait 3/4 months and passport? honestly this is unacceptable !!!!!

Small area, full of people all talking at the same time and they still have a piano with people trying to play it all the time. The staff did not try to help at all, it took us a 3 hours drive to be there from out city.
Go to the Embassy in Ottawa, much nicer and helpful.

Everything is very ridiculous, working hours, scheduling appointments, unwilling employees, you have to have elephant patience. Here's a tip: Employees visit the Canadian Consulate and learn how to do an effective job. Answer the phone, inform people and set a time with more access for the people and not for the employees.

Staff is arrogant, lazy, cavalier, condescending and unhelpful. Rude and straight up dismissive if you ask questions about what is not obvious.

No one ever answers the phone or e-mails. As a whole the Brazilian government is shameful and disgraceful; their work mentality is irrational, built on an authoritarian tradition which is sad and counter-productive. Definitely not recommended.

My wife and I went to renew our passport by appointment and everything went very well. It didn't take us even 20 minutes and we were very well attended by Raquel. We opted for the delivery of the document by mail, so we won't have to go back to pick up the document (but while we were there, there was only one person delivering passports to expedite the service).

NOT helpful at all. It's a picture of Brazil's mentality, you'll not get anywhere or get anything done specially if confronting anyone in there. If you get them upset they will put a break on whatever you need and there will be no one in Brazil to release you documents. It's people are driven by sentiment and emotional ignorance, it's unfortunate... it used to have better leadership people there in the past, not now.

Complete nightmare everytime I need to use their services. They do everything possible to deny any transaction. Now I print a list of all they ask on their website to show them in case they find something "missing".

I'm Brazilian, Lost my passport and after reporting it to the police, went to report to the consulate. Oh boy... they don't give a f**k. The police officer are more interested and preoccupied than them.
It's been days and absolutely no contact. They don't care that I don't have any kind of ID with me, don't answer directly to any of my questions, and even if I do exactly as told, the almost refuse to acknowledge it.
The are bigots, arrogant and totally unhelpful. If you can't go there, I'm very sorry for you. They never answer the phone, and are extra lazy with the e-mails.
Oh, and never forget: even if you are away from that country, they don't care. Someone steal your money and documents? Don't care. No money, no new passport.
Seriously... the worst consulate I have ever been to.

I really don't get those negative comments. Went there this morning and they provided excellent customer service.
For Brazilian citizens, if you are missing a document, don't expect them to help you. Everything is detailed at the website.

Excellent customer service. I went there to get a document for my drivers license and I had everything done in 10 minutes. Also, they renovated the place and now they have a bigger place, way more organized and plenty of sits.

I lived in 6 different counties, and all the time I need Brazilian consulates. The best was in Toronto. They are very organized, precise and friendly. Thank you very much Toronto Consulate team, you are the best one in the places I have seen.

I was there yesterday. I went to apply for a birth certificate for my three-month-old daughter. I had doubts, sent an email and got answers in 24 hours. When I got there, I didn't notice that there was a place to remove passwords, as there were people waiting in front of the place where the passwords are. However I asked and people showed me where the passwords were. When removing the password, the attendant looked at my baby carriage and passed me in front of the line. I had the documentation and copies in order, so it didn't take even 10 minutes to get in and out successfully. We will be back to retrieve the document in a few weeks. The person who attended me was friendly and efficient.

I ve been working with customer service over 12 years, to be honest I really appreciate when I have someone that is profissional and helpful, I want to say thank you to Joao who work at Consulate, he was really helpful and kind. This is the type of service we should receive. The environment is pretty good as well.

If you have a trip to Brazil, have your Brazilian passport expired and could not schedule renewal before your travel date, here is a precious tip that we found and that the consulate could not inform: Air Canada informed us that is written in the protocol of them the Brazilian citizen can travel to Brazil with expired passport AS long as he renews during his stay in Brazil and has the new passport in hand for the return trip! I am a month from my trip to Brazil and the consulate can not meet me during this period, but I know that I can travel quietly and I am already scheduling my schedule in Brazil now when I get there have plenty of time for the passport to be processed! It is good to check with the company you are traveling to, especially if you are calling in other countries because it can be a problem, but if you are flying direct to Brazil with Air Canada you can travel easy! What's more, in Brazil the fee is equivalent to $ 100 and here it is $ 180. Here's the tip;)

I was very well received and attended by very friendly and attentive people. I checked in all my Brazilian documents and when something was missing that I didn't do, I had to go back to the consulate and redo it, for My mistake !!! So I just have to thank the employees of the Brazilian consulate in Toronto.

The staff is very helpful and polite. The problem is not the staff, but the requirements imposed by the Brazilian government for simple processes. The working hours is a challenge for those working and also the poor website. But overall they do a good job.

If you have to come to the brazilian consulate in Toronto, be prepared for the long waiting, delays, and missing information. I spent all morning just to get a document requested over a month ago and still it was not ready for pick it up.

Dont bother calling - they never answer. Email however, they will respond to. If you're a Canadian applying for a Visa to travel to Brazil, email them asking for the correct link. I tried to apply via their website and ended up applying for something completely different even though I clicked on visitor's visa. Their website isn't really user friendly, it's hard to figure out on your own which Visa you'll need. I also find it strange that travel eVisa's are emailed to you, not printed in your passport. Wish me luck.

Staff for those who only complain about the consulate's attendance, I must say that it is probably the problem and who really complains. Today I sent messages and was answered immediately being able to take my doubts.

I have been to the Brazilian Consulate a few times since I first came to Canada in 2015.
They have always been polite and very efficient comparing to places like Service Ontario and the Italian consulate.

Horrible service, and not vet helpful. Served with arrogance and condescending attitude. Very difficult to get a tourist visa to go on holidays. They needed me to get a paid flight without knowing when the Visa will arrive?

Went in today, I arrived around 10:45AM and it wasn't too busy.
I'm not sure why I've read bad reviews, the woman working there was helpful and considerate. I suggest that as the person applying for the visa, be sure you have your documents ready so you don't blame them.
Proof of travel, a 2X2" picture, your passport, fill in the application online and bring in the printable receipt with bar code, hotel or accommodation information, perhaps a bank statement. I brought in what I needed to and it took less than 5 min. Thanks!

For many years I have been able to solve absolutely everything I request before the Brazilian consulate. The staff are always receptive and friendly. My only caveat is the lack of electronic form to speed up and facilitate the service queue.

I went to the consulate to make the passport of my daughter without scheduling, because it was an emergency, I was very well educated and how to perform the schedule, did the whole process by the website that is simple and objective. I managed to make an appointment for another week due to a cancellation. I was very well attended by employees and before my scheduled time was granted. Congratulations to staff and consulate there.

In Spanish, we say "La cara del santo hace el milagro." If you are going to visit another country, the first thing you need to learn is how to navigate. In Brazil, as in many countries, the person sitting in front of you is going to get the service. I went in person and waited my turn. The person who assisted me was courteous, answered all my questions, explained how to complete all the forms and explained how they could accommodate my mistakes. You cannot expect the entire world to adapt to your world view or your take-out, drive-through mentality. If that's what you want, stay home.

It really shocked me the poor service. Wrong information. Very different from the Brazilian Consulate in Athens on Gre'cia. I haven't had a complaint in 13 years, just compliments. A pity, because they have a very negative image. When they should be helpful, help, inform and give correct information. And if you don't know, check and give an answer at another time. But do not give wrong information to those who are far from the country and need some clarification regarding certain documents. I hope they get better, because they don't feel like going there. Better to solve in Brazil.

My sister and I were at the Consulate on Friday the 2nd of June and we were very well attended by the professional Roseane. Humorous, polite and did everything in his power to help us. Thank you!

I was already happy to use the website to request a passport. It was very easy to fill out the questionnaire, add the documents and request the appointment. On March 23 I went to present my documents for requesting a passport. I arrived 10 minutes before the scheduled time and was attended to on the spot by Elenice. She received me with a kind smile, clarified my doubts and was very polite and professional throughout the service. What a pleasure to see Brazil so well represented. Congratulations !

Horrible service, no preferential care is granted ...

Horrible service, no preferential care is granted when you have children and people behind the counter super poorly educated, change the rules according to the willingness to meet or not to the public. They think they are doing a favor to those who need clarification, since the documents on the site are super outdated. It takes more than 3 hours for a simple delivery of a completed document. I know this will not get anywhere, but at least I put my point. Worker Eunice (or whatever) is a person who needs to learn to deal with the public, even if she does not receive a tip.

Had to go to the Brazilian Consulate today Jan 19/21 to get a document. The person who helped me there (Dave, hope this is the correct spelling) was absolute amazing... I can't thank him enough for his help and kindness... I'll even cheer for Sao Paulo to win the Brazilian Futebol championship (My team sucks this year anyway). Thanks again, Dave

Very disappointed. Not the first time. I Came in today to pick up a document. The document was in indicated as urgent while having to wait for a long time. They didn't have my document ready. I guess urgent don't mean a thing! Prepare for a whole. day of waiting.

Service was great, staff was wonderful, I forgot my PR card and Sonia went out her way to save me a trip back to Toronto from Niagara. Everything was great now I'm just waiting for my visa.

My husdand and I had an amazing experience renewing our passports at the Consulate of Brazil in Toronto. We were attended by an extremely polite and knowledgeable woman who went above and beyond explaining everything in details and also adding some good hints regarding the importance of keeping our Brazilian ID (RG) always updated to avoid possible issues in the future.
We are still in the middle of a pandemic and they provided an environment that made us feel safe.
I highly recommend them!
Keep up this great service for the Brazilian community here in Canada.

I was very well attended, in the sector to remove the passport, at the time I had marked, by a very educated employee (Raquel).
I had problems with my title and I was answered in 15 mins getting a password. Unfortunately I had to solve it online. (In the lobby there are some girls that do the procedures online / they do not have RELATIONSHIP with the consulate) !!!! (a lan house)
"Go out of each one's Convenience."

I SEE PEOPLE CLAIMING ... THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THEY HAVE SOME PROCEDURES THAT DO NOT DEPEND ON THEM. IT HAS ONLINE PROCEDURES !!

Very Rude!
Went to Ottawa instead and made a day trip out of it. The Brazilian embassy in Ottawa is much faster and very friendly. If you have the time I highly suggest you do the same.

Canadian & my partner is Brazilian. Have your documents in order. I tried calling for about a week on the English line (My Portuguese is not good enough for technical stuff), with no reply. My partner called into the Portuguese line and got through on the first try. They were super helpful and accommodating. Luckily I was able to submit everything through the online portal, and once approved, simply ship my passport to the embassy to have my visa glued into my passport. My experience was back in January 2018, right before the E-Visa's started to become a thing.

The wait to get a passport here is absolutely unacceptable. It is sad to see that the demand is not being met for Brazilian citizens. The staff over there were extremely arrogant, condescending, and rude. I urge people to write a letter to the Brazilian government in Brasilia if you have experienced a similar negative experience because something needs to change.

Terrible attendance! More than 1h in the queue. I arrived with my protocol number on the official email I received from the government. The official said that she would have to write down the number on a little piece of paper, which I can do in less than 30 seconds, or what she could have done herself ... But that made me wait in line again while I called other people. After that my documents were delivered to another official and left me waiting for more than 30 minutes. Horrible! Terrible! I would love to never have to go to this place again! It is a total disrespect to the Brazilian citizen!

3 days ago I turn without stopping for that consulate for them to take me a question, and they never answer the phone. The worst is that the hours are only from 9 am- 1pm (schedule that everyone works), now I have to miss a day of work to be able to take a doubt, it's the same joke ... nobody works that no consulate!

They do not answer the phone, which makes it impossible to ask questions without going there in person. The site gives incomplete and misleading information about the documentation that needs to be submitted. I tried to leave feedback on this with the girl who answered me and she only bothered to show me that I was wrong when the site actually asked for the wrong document. I suggest that you make the phone call a possibility urgently, especially for those who do not live in Toronto not having to travel lost. On the plus side, the service was reasonably quick.
