Went to the bar for a cocktail. The hotel is simply magnificent! However, the staff behind the bar seemed amateur like. We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday night, they would close at 2 pm. After ordering they almost immediately shoved the bill under our nose and required payment. It felt rude and un-welcoming. Also considering the prices (around 20 per cocktail). The cocktail itself was nice though...

Absolutely nice hotel when it comes to the lounge. Corridors and exterior. The rooms are very small and have (cupboard) doors that open very heavily and small beds.
Paying almost 600 euros per night and to watch a movie, you also have to pay extra ..... too expensive for what you get.
For us the last time

Very nice environment to stay, close to musea.

Very nice environment to stay, close to musea.
Restaurant located on the completely glass covered square behind the historicsl building.
Also private meeting rooms where lunch can also be served by the friendly staff.

Geniunely one of the best hotels I have ever been to in Europe. The perfect combination of a historic building combined with modern design and state of the art living spaces. And their services was nothing short of fantastic, I want to go back to Amsterdam just to stay there again.

What a fantastic hotel with very friendly staff from car service to operation etc. Super nice decor and very nice rooms. Really great! Thanks for that because that is still special and no guarantee.

Passed the litmus test: the shrimp croquettes. Homemade and very tasty. Location is on the pricey side, but you know that as soon as you put the first foot over the threshold. No reason not to walk on. The door is already kept open for you.

I arrived early in the morning and they were so kind to let me check into my room (+1 ). However, I told them I would pay by debit card and they said they had to charge EUR400 for incidental. Prior to this trip, I stayed at a Marriott hotel in Sydney and they only charged me the room rates upon arrival as I told them I would pay by debit card and everything was fine. This week, I m not going to spend any more at this hotel and I get to bear the cost of converting EUR400 back to my home currency when I check out. They are so rigid and don t care about the guest s interest (-1 ). Last night, I found brown hair (not my color) in the towel (-1 ). Today, I came back to my room after work and noticed that the Housekeeping had thrown away my bottled water!! (-1 ). Also, they like to move and rearrange my personal belongings around in the wardrobe and the bathroom which I do not appreciate at all. I met the housekeeping staff and told her about the issues. She apologized and gave me a bottled water (+1 ). It seems to me that some of their front desk or Guest Service Centre staff are inexperienced but that s ok because everyone has to learn sometimes. However, please inform the guest immediately if you can t do what you have just promised; please do not wait for your guest to call you back in half an hour and then tell them you actually can t help! (-2 ). Finally, the hotel is located in a museum district and consists of a historic building. The building is awesome but the interior design of my room is so poor; there is a black tv wall panel you can swivel to face the door, but the couch is on the other side of the room. It would have been a great design if the panel can be moved towards the couch and not the door. The tv screen is too small if you watch tv from the bed. Then they have a one touch button to turn on/off all lights at once. Unfortunately, there are two bright lights on the floor right next to my desk which make me so uncomfortable that I have to put a thick large book to block the light. Also, the yellow desk has a drawer with sharp edges and corner, and I almost got my thigh cut while working at my desk. The sliding doors of the wardrobe are too heavy and it s not even safe to use (-1 ). Actual score is -4 but I give them a star anyway :)

Beautiful and impressive building with a beautiful and un-Amsterdam covered courtyard. The restaurant and reception are located here. The lunch was very good quality. It remains a luxury hotel, so the restaurant is expensive. Service went well, but seemed messy. They first gave us the wrong (and cheaper) bill.

Amazing building and luxury hotel in the middle of the museum district. Came for dinner at one of the restaurants in the hotel and everything was really extra mile. Pricey but most definitely worth it.

Great to order a coffee or tea and then to receive a small "tower" full of goodies. Of course you pay for it, but for me this is definitely worth it. A resting point in a busy city, where you will be welcomed with all respect. The staff may prefer something more cordial rather than correct, but distant. Nevertheless, always a wonderful moment.

It's such a lovely hotel with great people working there. The only thing I did'nt like was the price I payed for my room. The room was great and so was the service, but it was too pricey.

A stone's throw from the Van Gogh Museum, just at the end of the beautiful Museumplein park, there is an elegant hotel that also offers visitors the chance to spend time in its main hall: the Conservatorium Hotel.

Imagine a historic building where the touch of modernity, consisting mostly of an impressive use of glass, allows you to sip a good gin lemon comfortably seated on a soft and enveloping sofa.

In fact, the hall is divided into two main areas: the lounge area set up by various workstations that come to create a multiplicity of sitting areas; and a restaurant area instead.

A bit cold and certainly with the desire for a chic but informal environment, we spent a couple of hours chatting in the lounge area accompanied by a pleasant live jazz, good wine and a Dutch snack.

We ordered different types of aperitifs including the now proven bitterballen and cheese and potato croquettes. The aperitif was taste but everything was certainly made even better by the beautiful atmosphere, the warmth of the environment, the elegance of the place and the very delicate kindness of the staff.

Absolutely recommended for those who were in Amsterdam in these days of pre-Christmas weather.

We did not spend the night in the hotel so I have no opinion about that, but the food and service in the restaurant do.
Upon arrival our thick winter coats are not accepted, but to our surprise those of the couple next to us are.
The food was really way below expected level. The bread was old and uneaten. Almost broke my teeth.
The sauce on the chicken was sour and the chicken itself not well cooked.
The salmon on the bagel was not fresh.
And as icing on the cake, we receive an incorrect bill that was corrected after comments. Then the employee stays in my wallet while I pull out cash to pay the bill. Since when is this a habit? Bring the coupon to the table, walk away, and come back later to collect it.
Price quality ratio is very bad.
Not a second time for us.
