Great for kids and parents! Educational (of course) and fun, a great combination.
Great for kids and parents! Educational (of course) and fun, a great combination.
Great destination for the family! Check Groupon for discounted admission!
Great for young kids and adults. Excellent programming and exhibits. Saw the Dream Big movie which was very inspiring.
Kids love to come here. They had a cool sock skating rink that the kids thoroughly enjoyed. They change out different areas which is nice so that there is always something new to see or do.
Very soothing abd calm place to go for an evening stroll. I study here so I have been here for multiple times and it has been always kind to me. If you are in Hartford then I think you should definitely go here for a stroll or for a jog.
Always educational, currently has an exhibit on da Vinci
Kids love the place, we recently went to a friends son's brlitlrthday party... The sensory exhibit and water room was awesome. Highly recommend
Such a fun place for all ages! There is a ton to see, so plan on spending hours here. The CT Science Center makes learning and science fun! I suggest going to the water play area on the bottom floor last- even with the smocks, it is hard to not get soaked.
This is a really fun cool place. It is geared mostly toward children and I find the exhibits do not change often. That being said it is a really fun thing to do in Hartford.
It's like of i wanna live there...but. ..take the fake boddies OUT
Great place.to.shop nice clean store very organice friendly staff i recommend it
It s an okay place to be with your young children. Staffs are not friendly. I don t think I would return.
The bodies exhibit was amazing and the butterflies brought me a sense of calm. My daughter and niece had an amazing time and didn't want to leave. I'm sure we'll be back!
Great science museum for children! Have many exhibits and a great water play area too. 3 D movie showings.
We went on a rainy Saturday and While we did have a great day at this museum there are some issues that could be addressed.
First off It's a large facility with tons to do.
We started out in a water area with smocks provided for the kids to help keep them dry.
We proceeded through the musuem upstairs and visited multiple floors and lots of interactve exhibits.
When the interactive exhibits worked they were generally awesome and informative but we found several broken or not working machines throughout the museum.
Also some of the stations are just a disaster. The paper whirl in engineering for instance was just a mess with paper everywhere. It also Seems like a giant waste of paper.
In other areas like the fossil stations the employees were doing a remarkable job keeping the dirt contained.
Overall it's a great family day out and I don't even think we saw everything.
We definitely feel we got our money's worth and even considered membership. A must see in CT
Very manageable, the cafeteria was nice and clean, lots of stuff to see and do. Though it isn't big by any means and the bodies alive exhibit was to me shocking yet educational. But, I couldn't handle seeing the bodies of babies so that I skipped. The butterfly exhibit was dissapointing as it was very small and barely any butterflies in it.
A nice visit but a bit expensive compared to what there is to see
Super cool hands-on experience for children of all ages! Their travel exhibits tend to be more than stellar and always professionally presented!
Loved it! Will definitely go back again, even without my 2 1/2 year old! :D
Love everything here so much for the kids to see and do. A little overran on Saturday. Would suggest a weekday visit.
WORST science center ever, half of the exhibits were not working or not working properly. We (my husband and I) originally bought tickets to see a movie with the exhibits, but after walking around the entire place in under 1.5 hours we still had another hour before the movie started. We didn't bother staying for movie we were so disappointed with the place. There's a huge waste of space with the building and they could have added many more exhibits. I'm appalled by the CT science center, do not waste your money.
Great hands on experience for children. New curious George section was added for summer 2018.
A great place to get out if the heat. We got a military discount and spent the day here to get out of the extreme summer heat we had. I wrapped my 4 month old baby and wore him around the whole place. I happy I did because the museum has a couple floors. The elevators are roomy enough for strollers but navigating the exhibits would have been a hassle. Everything was kid friendly and had lots of buttons to push and interact it. Plus on the way out there's a Froyo on the first floor.
Only downside is if you go as adults (no kids) some of the areas are closed to you. Otherwise, great times!
I love having the experience of going here. A great way to learn science!
The number of floors they list themselves as having can be a little misleading (they seem to include the parking levels), but this place was amazing. So much to do, and build, and touch...the space and motion sections were great...and so was the main floor little kids area, which showcased a giant water powered marble run, fully interactive and wildly entertaining
Very busy and good for kids but only on special savings days otherwise way over priced
Its a cool experiences and there is a subway and its a cool way to learn new things
CSC is a great place to take my 3 kids as there is always things for kids off all ages. Lots on interactive things and 3d movie theater. Wishing the dining options were better (only a Subway on site) but that is only gripe.
It's cool but the West Hartford science center is better
Amazing place to learn and have fun at the same time
I loved this place! I'm so glad I went while I was visiting Connecticut. There's a room for all these different branches of science such as Leonardo da Vinci's inventions, weather, space, kinesiology, earth science, and more. Great place to take the kids for a great hands on learning experience!
Great exhibits and most are operational. Will be even better in October when 6th floor is done
Excellent mix of childrens exploration and adults education. More activites than you can accomplish in a 4 hour visit. If you are local to the area the membership is well worth the cost. I had as much if not more fun then my 2 year old nephew.
Great place for kids and adults. I go at least once every year its never boring
My grandchildren had a great time here. A large variety of exhibits with great hands on learning.
Such a fun place! We always spend at least 3 hours here
It's a great place! Has lots of interaction, but it's more center for kids of the ages 4 and up. I brought my 2 year old and he only enjoyed a small portion of the exhibit. But not all kids are the same. It's nice to try with your kids at least once.
Great museum with tons of exhibits and things to learn. Museum is clean and has a food court too.
My kids enjoy coming here a couple times per year. Decent selection of interactive exhibits, displays, activities, and games. It takes my family 3 to 4 hours to visit everything. They have a traveling exhibit which rotates a couple times a year.
Plenty of interactive exhibits to engage your STEM-curious children.
Excellent place to take the kids. Plan for a minimum of 3 hours if you'd like to visit every level. The place is massive!
However, they need to spend more time fixing exhibits as there are a good number of them that were broken, even for new exhibits.
The summer camps here are also very good too. They do a really good job setting it up and running it.
Great for kids - lots to do, well kept, cool exhibits.
Great place for kids great atmosphere some exhibits need attention however, maintenance does not seem to be a priority
It's amazing how science center is amazing people are just loving it
Fun & informative. Many things seemed to be either too easy or too hard for kids 5-7
I came here with some friends for the Harry Potter exhibit and it was great! It is definitely for children with a lot of activities for them. Make sure you check if your work offers discounts!
We had so much fun here with my little nephew. Love that it makes them think and gets them interacting with science. My favorite was the butterfly experience.
A plane almost hit the side of the building and our tour guide yelled, "Allah Akbar" 10/10 best museum.
This is a great place to take kids. Multiple floors with exhibits that are constantly changing. There is a Subway on the ground floor that also has outside seating. This is also walking distance to State House square and several other restaurants. You can also reach this by parking in East Hartford and walking the Founders Bridge.
Staff at the front desk were rude both of the young ladies behind the counter seemed unhappy and unaware of their surroundings when asked the best way for a first time visitor to see all they had to offer.
All of the exhibits were dirty with the majority being broken or just too many missing pieces. There was not one hand sanitizing station that wasn't broken causing one repeated trips to the rest room to wash your hands after each station.
Parking was cheap and the location is very accessible. The gift shop was left unattended for the entire 15 minutes we spent inside 5 of which was at the register where we decided not to even make the purchase and left our items on the counter, the price of admission is fair although I was resisting the urge to demand a refund upon leaving.
The exhibits that are open currently are rather cool. It's not as big as we originally thought it would be but it was worth it. The kids learned a lot and we learned a few new things as well. The staff were nice and were constantly cleaning. They had cleaning wipes everywhere for guests to clean and go. Masks must be work so be sure to bring yours. The gift shop and froyo place along with several exhibits are temporarily closed due to COVID and cleaning abilities. You will have to have your temperature taken to enter as well.
Nice things for the whole family to choose from at great prices
This place is amazing , 4 floors of science themed fun and a nice food court
Amazing place! Great sensory area on the first floor. Hours of play
This is the first time me and my family had gone to this science center. We were there with other families from Waterbury Connecticut. We had an awesome time on a very rainy Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend 3D super Dogs movie. We had an awesome time at your science center
This is a great place to bring your children. It has a lot of exciting things to do, and see your kids will never be bored....come visit and take a look for yourself. You will be amazed!
Great place for the family. Some exhibits are a little scary for 4 year olds
