This place was exactly what we wanted and then some. It's luxurious with so much history. My boyfriend and I spent and hour trying to decide what hotel to stay at and I'm so glad that we decided on the Fairmont. There was alittle hiccup but because management handled it so well, I can still give them 5 stars. Can't wait to go back!!

We we're there last saturday and sunday. We accompanied my granddaughter to an audition of the premiere talent agency. We parked in the Mason parking, just a short walk from the hotel. I observed that there were nonstop affairs in the hotel and people were always coming to and going from the hotel.

Below average and inconsistent quality of service for this epic property. In paralleled views. Tread lightly or get caught in a hour wait for cold fruit plate at breakfast. Suites in the old section are some of the best for private parties. Banquet areas great for large fundraisers and blandishments food. Not too much that makes this hotel stand out other than the iconic old world architecture. Make sure to stop in at Christmas for the gingerbread display, huge tree and lobby bar.

Excellent customer service began as early as when making the reservation. Every effort was made to meet our needs. From Resteraunts to in-room massages. Highly recommend this well appointed and great value hotel.

4.5 stars round up. We got a good deal and had a good stay. Great location, rooms are recently renovated (year or so), functional layout and overall charming historical hotel. Everyone love the big gingerbread house and xmas decoration in the lobby. Brunch, food and drinks are on the higher end and they were fine.

Most beautiful hotel in San Francisco, by far. Historic building, nice big and comfy rooms, with great view over the city. Very comfy beds. Quite expensive but this is a top 5 star hotel. Great breakfast at the hotel restaurant Laurel Court.

Location is a bit difficult to get to since the streets are narrow and it's on a hillside. Didn't actually stay in the overnight rooms but attended a conference. The conference rooms can hold about 300 people sitting. The grand ballroom is also on the small side, but it is for grander events! The restrooms are all well kept. I didn't get to interact too much with the staff since we had volunteers organizing the event. We had charcuterie TABLES that were awesome, and we had coffee all day that was on the watery side. Overall a great event, looking forward to the next time.

I stayed here for a conference so I got to experience many aspects of the hotel.

Food: conference food is typically meh... not here. There was a great variety of healthy and tasty dishes.

Rooms: the hotel has very large rooms the one I stayed in had an enormous bathroom with both a shower and bathtub!

Service: impeccable, staff was very attentive, professional and polite

Overall: if you are visiting and want to enjoy an old world inspired stay this is a place you should consider.

We went to the Fairmont San Francisco hotel to visit the Tiki bar. It was really nicely done but it was really crowded when we went. If you go for drinks, you're probably gonna have to stand.

I was there for a conference. Bay view from top of the hill is great! Interior decor is a little outdated, but perhaps that's part of the charm. Food and service levels are as expected from a five star hotel.

Beautiful historic hotel with fun restaurant, the Tonga Room--also historical. Friendly staff. Nice place to stop for drinks and dinner. Food is yummy. Probably multiple starred kitchen/chefs but I don't follow that stuff. Can get pretty busy and crowded though. Oh and there's a live band!

Very nice hotel with very friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are fairly large and nice as well. I had an interior view, so I can't really speak to the views from the room. The garden deck near some of the meeting rooms has some nice views though.

I attended a rehearsal dinner at the Tonga Room. It was well staffed, clean, loaded with ambiance and a delightful escape from the urban landscape. The band floats on a boat in a pool which the entire room is built around. Definitely worth checking out!

If you're reading this review then you've probably covered some others already. This is one of the best, if not the best hotel in San Francisco.
With one small drawback.
I visited here for two nights with my brother and there were no twin rooms available. We had been booked in by a package tour which had been informed we required separate beds (and had succeeded in every other hotel we visited so I don't think it was their fault) when we arrived at the Fairmont and informed the desk of this we were told that twin rooms were not available. To their credit not long after we got into the room a second bed (of the fold up kind your parents kept for when that strange uncle was visiting that couldn't take the spare room because your grandmother was using it) arrived and took pride of place between the bed and the dresser. Yes, that place you usually use for walking. Was comfortable enough though (according to my brother) and everything else in the hotel was fantastic. Especially the doormen and concierge.

Truly a landmark in San Francisco! Just a breathtaking hotel from the lobby to the rooftop terrace, there s a calmness and energy that simply relaxes you from the moment you walk in. The views from our room took in the entire city and was incredible to wake up with each morning. Totally check out the tiki bar! So much fun with great drinks and live entertainment, the food was so flavorful and left us wanting more! Overall a wonderful experience and a fun place to walk around with all the photos and tidbits of history decorating the main floor walls.

Great location and close proximity to incredible restaurants and the city but the price did not represent good value for money, as the hotel has the nerve to charge extra for the gym AND wifi. I would have figured that charging $399/night the hotel maybe could set up a router and throw me some free internet or maybe even let me work out.

I fled to San Francisco when a drunk run me and my parents off the side of the mountain in the Colorado Rocky Mountain High..poor mama was killed upon the crash ..daddy died in my arms..unfortunately I was left behind to survive in a crazy world I didn t know...I checked into the Fairmont hotel and that became my refuge and home..it was there Robin Williams came over to my table and told me a silly joke..the rest is not to be told..
Robin saved my life but I could not save his.. :(((

The Fairmont SF is an absolutely gorgeous hotel with a dedicated staff who tend to your every need. I had the pleasure of visiting during the holiday season and got to witness not only their beautiful lobby Christmas Tree, but a two story gingerbread house with a miniature santas workshop. The food and drink service is incredible, though you should be prepared for the bill.

Very nice hotel, great staff. Bit aged here and there but you'll only notice that if you really look foie it.

Had an issue with original room. Went to front desk and they gabe me a new (upgraded room) right away, no questions asked ;)

I also like that the stairs go all the way to the bottom floors, got some extra steps by skipping the elevator every now and then ;)

Excellent rooms: everything very clean and comfortable. We also spent some time at the hotel bar, Tonga. Very good music and drinks but the food a little too expensive for the quality received.

Parking lot has good access underground.

The rooms are beautiful and the restaurant is good.
There are many shops nearby and it is convenient.
