As a vegetarian, I am always skeptical about fancy restaurants and their ability to serve me something that isn t veggie marinara. However, I had an amazing vegetarian soup (veggie broth base) and a dish that I can t even pronounce. The desserts were amazing. My server told me that many vegetarians avoid coming, and shared that many of the servers have culinary degrees and the chef will always find a way to honor the guests. This isn t a cheap night, but not horrible either ($100, no alcohol, and we had two desserts). Such a fancy and wonderful experience. A Must for someone in New Orleans.

#1 out of a 3person wait staff we had to wait for the hostess to take our order, #2 they made a pointed effort to let us know that they were changing our napkins f/white to black because the gents in our party didn't have dress slacks on, #3 during dessert coffee was served with warm milk instead of cream and was told it was cream, then after asking for cream the cream was soured,

A must see place in New Orleans! The food is exquisite but come for lunch during the week as the 25-cent martinis are truly the icing on the cake! Reserve ahead and if possible get a seat in the Garden Room, the views are amazing all year round!

Commanders Palace has become a tradition for my family and I on Thanksgiving Day. The service is always on point with friendly smiles and knowledgeable staff while the food itself would be enough to still earn five stars. It is easily one of my top three restaurants of the city.

Came here often as a kid growing up in New Orleans. Had a fond memory of it. Revisited with my wife recently and found it was still an amazing restaurant. The food is great and the service is incredible.

I rarely get to gush about a dining experience, but my wife and my meal here was something we'll remember and cherish forever! The drinks were delicious, the turtle soup was a novel and amazing experience, and the andouille shrimp may have changed my life. We had a perfect dining experience!

Worth every penny and best meal in New Orleans! We stopped here for lunch and had the best service here for the entire trip. If you want the highest level of service at a reasonable price, this is a must visit. Our server Argyle was exceptional and anticipated everything we needed. The owner even took the time to greet everyone. Don t forget the 25 cent martinis. Each round for a table of 4 cost $1 . We left feeling like a million bucks!

Amazing place! Came here for our 2nd Anniversary and it was amazing. Our waiter paired everything from our champagne, wine with dinner, and dessert wine pairing. VERY knowledgeable staff. Excited to talk about pairings and wine. It's expensive and very elegant inside, but not overly pricy and well worth it for the occasion. We will be back.

I guess I am not really much of a foodie. Maybe I just was not hungry. I would not eat half of the things on the menu if you paid me.
Ended up with gumbo, which was not as good as Acme's.

Went to dinner with my significant other and had a wonderful experience! Our reservations were at 9:30 PM and luckily we were able to get their last time slot only 2 days before. We started with the Turtle Soup (a Commander's classic) and c
Chicken and Mushroom Gumbo. As for entrees we got the Pecan Crusted Gulf Fish and the Andouille Spiced Gulf Shrimp. We ended our meal with some Creole Bread Pudding Souffle. It was a great meal and the service was on point! Commander's Palace is a New Orleans fine dining staple that does not disappoint.

This seems to be a must when visiting NOLA. It s on almost all of the recommendation lists for food to try and I would agree; you should try this place while visiting. The atmosphere and service are definitely the things that stand out for this place. It s a very cool building with lots of history. When you arrive you are introduced to your service team. They were very attentive, informative and a pleasure to talk to while dining. As for the meal, I definitely enjoyed the food. It wasn t the best ever but it was good. I tried the turtle soup and was pleasantly surprised. The entree was good. Lots of seafood in it and had a good flavor. Ultimately, I wished I had ordered something else. The dessert was the winner for me. The cheesecake was delicious. I would go back just for the cheesecake. I also tried their Bloody Mary and it was just ok. All and all, it s a nice place to get the sense of New Orleans and their food and I would try it again.

A true culinary experience. The gumbo was a dark rich, delicious bowl of sausage, chicken, and vegetables like I've never had before. The shrimp and grits were perfection. The bread pudding was the perfect combination of bread, cinnamon, vanilla, and I believe whisky (in the vanilla cream sauce).

The service was choreographed and executed with precision and grace. It was an exceptional experience that I would absolutely recommend for any couple or group of adults who really appreciate great food and superior service.

I apologize for not taking pictures, I didn't want to sully the decor by being a tourist.

To say this place is good is an understatement. Our first time in New Orleans and everyone recommended this place and the turtle soup. We shared the soup trio to get a sample of Gumbo also. It did not disappoint. If you're planning a trip to NOLA, this Commander's Palace should be on this list. Make reservations though.

Five of our travel group had dinner at CP in a private dinning room. It was the finest most delectable culinary experience I have ever had. Even some of the finer restaurants in London could not compare to the service, food, and ambiance. I highly recommend dinning at the Commander's Palace. Dress fine, order wine, and don't be in a hurry. Relax and enjoy.

Amazing! Fabulous and elegant dining experience! Definitely expensive, but worth it for a special occasion! I got the Soup 1-1-1, but because I don t eat pork, they gave me two servings of the turtle soup instead. The turtle soup was More

As soon as you walk in you are hit by the wonderful smells from whatever is cooking in the kitchen because you go through the inner sanctum that is the kitchen itself. I almost genuflected in deep reverence to the work being done to perfect the food you will be enjoying soon. Everyone greets you like an old friend. The food... perfection. Do yourself a favor and get reservations before you fly in to New Orleans. Ms. T Brennan even dropped by our table just to say hello.

Where do I begin? Well the atmosphere is amazing the staff is knowledgeable not only on the food and drinks but the area and everything New Orleans has to offer.
The food is cooked to perfection, flavors that are well thought out and married to really come through on the pallet. Layers of spices and selections of drinks that pair well. It s refined, clean, stylish, worth the wait and at the top of my list every time I visit New Orleans.

A "Must Do" experience in NOLA
Can't say enough about the Commander's Palace, as a former N.Y.C. restaurant owner (reviewed with stars in the NY Times), I was impressed, and then some. Everything from the time you enter to the moment you leave is impressive. Tastefully served dishes, that are scrumptious, dessert that is heavenly, and attention to detail is what you can expect from the Commander's Palace. Troy is flawless and commands the room, as a true professional should, his southern charm will complete your unforgettable dining experience. I (We) definitely will be returning for more.

Superb service from Argyle, Vannah, and Claudia! Delicious food and pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed the soup trio, BBQ shrimp, grilled fish, and praline parfait. I would recommend dining upstairs and saving lots of room for dessert! Twenty-five CENT select cocktails with the purchase of an entree was an entertaining addition to our lunch. Be sure to understand the dress code: wearing shorts is not permitted.

Always good. The staff always makes you feel like you're the most important thing in the room. The lacquered quail is fantastic and the bread pudding souffle with Whiskey sauce is The Benchmark for dessert. I find it more comfortable to sit in the Garden Room than the other rooms.

Definitely a 5 star experience. Food, service, drink list, ambience and overall experience is phenomenal. Food preparation is perfect. Good variety to choose from. Bonus points for location get there an hour early to check out the old mansions.

Fun, inviting, comfortable, and consistently one of the best dining experiences we have had not only in New Orleans on multiple occasions. I have a hard time expressing how much we enjoyed this restaurant. Lunch is so much fun with a few drinks and extremely elevated dishes are well balanced and exploding with flavor. A little pricey but I feel like it is truly worth the time and cost if you are looking for not only great elevated creole food but just legitimately excellent food

The food is fantastic and you can't beat the $0.25 martinis at lunch. I got the turtle soup. It was great. Luscious and full bodied. The soup had good chunks of turtle in it. It was a tomato based soup. Very good. The main we the duck cassoulette. It was good, but the cassoulette came with some citrus fruit as a garnish. It was an odd addition that didn't seem to add anything. We shared the strawberry shortcake with the table - amazing and worth getting if only to share with everyone. The shortcake was crumbly and slightly sweet. The strawberries were sweet and just tart enough. Overall great. The only reason the place doesn't get five stars is the service. They're trying to be upscale fancy, but they're trying to hard and it just doesn't work. Dishes were cleared at odd intervals instead of all at once. Dishes were presented almost in sync, but one wasn't present, etc.

Where do I even start? Commander's Palace is far more than just a culinary experience. From the moment I entered to the last second I experienced a top shelf caliber of customer service.

We made 6:30pm reservations for my birthday which is highly recommended to make a reservation. To get to our table, we cut through the kitchen and each crew member we passed greeted us with a, "hello ladies" or "good evening".

We were sat in the patio room which looks out to the courtyard. The tables are prepped with napkins and silverware. My friend had a black dress on and instead of giving her the white napkin our server went to the kitchen and came back with a black napkin to match her dress.
When the server was told it was my birthday he came back with balloons for the table.

At the Commanders Palace you have a team of servers. We had three people that continually checked on us throughout the course of our meal.

For my drink I ordered the sunset on the patio (seemed fitting). The drink comes out with sunglasses that you get to take home with you.

100 out of 10 recommend giving this place a try.

Every bit as magical as you have been told. Commander's Palace will not dissapoint. They provide seamless elevated dining in an unpretentious atmosphere. The bread pudding souffle is the best dessert I have ever tried.

I came from the heart of Beverly Hills California for a family reunion & this restaurant was recommended. It was a great experience. Except for the inconvenience of a rude valet driver. He could of been more friendly but the gentleman with the dreads wasn't very friendly
