Great food. Great service. Really enjoyed dinner here.
What a culinary experience. Will make it a must do, every time I'm in town
Lived up to and exceeded the hype! Killer jazz brunch, great cocktails and staff!!
Very nice ambiance... very good detailed guest service... awesome detailed and very good food...
Amazing service and great food. Went for lunch so had to have a $.25 martini. Lunch menu is a bit limited but was easily able to find good selections. Bananas Foster was not on the lunch menu but was available on request.
Lunch martini. That's all I should need to say. Amazing. Service was great and food was delish!
Delicious food but everyone knows that. I highly suggest the Jazz Brunch!
We came here for dinner. Very attentive staff, good cocktails and wine selection, and some of the best seafood in town. They do fish perfectly. We had the smoking oysters and tuna for appetizers, and Scalibut and Swordfish for our mains. They have the best dessert here-The Salty Malty, it's like a whoppers ice cream cake.
This is a spectacular place of business! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive to the guests' needs and service is quick. There's an amazing courtyard accented by a touch of southern charm while still doused in Louisiana's strong More
To be honest, I have been avoiding Commander's Palace thinking it would be an over rated tourist trap. I was wrong! The meal was incredible, the service impeccable and I will make a point to go back the next time I am in NOLA.
We were invited by a friend to have dinner here. The table orders the manager s dinner menu. It was fabulous!!!! The staff made the night, I truly recommend this palace.
A truly delicious, elegant and amusing dining experience
This is truly an experience not to be missed if you are visiting New Orleans. It consists of a 3-course meal and I guarantee you will be full and happy when you leave. The top-rate jazz trio wanders around the restaurant and plays a song or two for each table. The service is outstanding. i really can't say a negative thing. It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Had a yummy time yesterday at Commanders! Always wonderful!!
Food was too salty. There was way too much hype about this place. Didn't care for it at all. Our server was excellent though.
Great service and good food. Be there at jazz brunch when there was a trio that went around playing at the tables. Dress code with no shorts or jeans. It's more expensive, but worth a visit
Whatever you have heard isn't adequate to describe this place, just marvelous.
Absolutely wonderful experience, staff was attentive and delightful. We went during the Coolinary Event in August and had the three course meal for $39. The ravioli was delicious and the praline parfait was an enchanting dessert to end the whole meal. It was more than dinner, it was a experience.
LEAVE THE JACKET AT HOME! The only people wearing them were old men!
I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here.
I had a great evening...the service and ambience was fantastic and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the soft shell crab and the garden room.
The quintessential New Orleans restaurant. Quaint, Historic, fantastic staff, and delicious food. One should make the effort and eat here. Food is the star here and it shows.
Great food and service definitely will eat there again
Fabulous food and AMAZING service. The wait staff are just incredible and the food is out of this world. I took my parents there for lunch. 25 cent martinis are no joke - they are delicious and high quality (just like the food). Creme brulee is magical - perfectly caramelized sugar and tons of vanilla. Tons of fun for vacationers and to take your family from out of town. They do an incredible job.
The food was fantastic and the service was so accommodating.
Wonderful formal dining experience. Must see/eat when you are in New Orleans. Menu is heavy on seafood.
We went here to eat the Nola gumbo. We ordered two gumbo and a shrimp appetizer to understand the actual size of the portions, with the idea of ordering another one in case we weren't satiated (not knowing the restaurant). Immediately after ordering we were treated quite rudely by the waiter, menus left on the table, the gumbo was given to us inside a bowl and my friend was not poured into the dish leaving us then the bowl on the table, the waiter for us to order more ( even before being served) he told us that if we had not ordered anything else at that moment of sudden there would have been a wait of about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Obviously we finished the gumbo we wanted to eat more, but seeing the rudeness of the waiter who served us we preferred to change restaurant, also with a bold attitude always the same waiter before the account has re-asked us again if we wanted more and no words he snorted I. Face turning and going away. The bill was thrown on the table followed by an exclamation "voila", I think it's unacceptable behavior in a classy place like this. Too bad because all the rest of the staff was very kind and polite and the food was really good.
We felt like leaving a note on the receipt ... And voila
If you know New Orleans you know there are plenty of excellent restaurants. Commanders Palace is the queen of them all. They ve been serving up creole deliciousness since the late 1800 s! The setting is beautiful, the food is perfect, More
I love this restaurant. Commander's Palace never disappoints from the staff, the ambiance and food. All is topnotch. This must be on your Nawlins list to do#
Nice experience, we will return . Watch out for those martinis or you might have to call it a day.
Service and food was great as expected my entire party was pleasantly surprised and pleased , Turtle soup is a must and Ben, sings local folk tale songs, my lady and her cousin were celebrating a birthday, her cousin and husband were celebrating an anniversary all on the same date, of course the Filet Mignon with crab was excellent, don't for get Bananas Foster, Chef Paul created it the 50's for the Brennan family, Great time
Awesome place, really good food, good prices, and very nice atmosphere! Highly recommend checking out
One of the best meals I have ever had! I had the cochon du lait and it was delicious, as was the gumbo. I tried their famous turtle soup, and it was good, but I liked the gumbo better. Cocktails were tasty and service was attentive. Check this place out! Just be sure you know the dress code, it is very strict.
Commanders Palace, known by locals as CP, is the quintessential dining experience. The discovery for an artful cuisine keeps this restaurant among the finest New Orleans fare. You will be overwhelmed by the service and menu!
always fantastic food, but the service is even better make sure that you go ask for Jared he is by far the best Captain they have you will make your experience that much
Great food (turtle soup was especially good).
Atmosphere was impeccable.
Wonderful dining experience. The tables next to us were painfully loud but the service and food were great.
Simply outstanding. Everything was just perfect. Food and service could not have been better. This is a must stop for anyone visiting NO
The food is excellent. Up until I received my entree the staff was very attentive. No one came over to ask me how my entree was. I waited 15 minutes for my dessert. When I asked for my check there was no delay.
This has been and will remain my favorite place to eat in New Orleans. The menu is mouth-watering and original, but packed with that Creole/Cajun flavor you can't get enough of.
Upstairs is truly the spot to be, with beautiful walls of windows overlooking century old trees and the garden district. Topping it off, the live band at Sunday brunch makes it a restaurant to not only eat, but to build memories. The chef is of incredible talent. For anyone looking for an authentic New Orleans soul food brunch, the palace is a must!
On our first day in New Orleans we had lunch at the Commander's Palace. What a wonderful start to our stay. The decor and service was great, and the $0.25 martinis came as a surprise value. We had turtle soup, fresh oyster, a version of oyster's Rockefeller, gumbo, all delicious. This is a must visit for a blast from New Orleans history.
I gotta say, I'm not much of a seafood person, but I love the shrimp here. This is my first time trying shrimp, so this could be an uninformed opinion, but I know I'll be back for more next time I'm in the area
A world class restaurant. If you are in New Orleans this is a great place to eat, and I really recommend their cookbook as well. My meal there was a really memorable experience.
Gorgeous setting, impeccable service, incredible food and amazing martinis!
Classic New Orleans and southern charm. Come for the great food, and if you do lunch for the $.25 Drink Happy Hour. An amazing experience in a beautiful setting.
Great food awesome service! Thanks Ti for an amazing experience
Phenomenal!!! Words can't describe how amazing the food was. As an appetizer get the cheese plate... it won't disappoint.
Loved loved this restaurant. Our food and drinks were incredible and our server Randy was so welcoming, informative and attentive it made us feel at home. I highly recommend the veal but to be honest everything else we had was incredibly tasty.
Pretty walk to the bright blue restaurant. Jazz brunch was festive, band was great! Staff was attentive and professional although bartenders seemed to lack liveliness. Brunch food was very rich and lots of it! Although it was not among our favorite NOLA food experience, it was neat to check out because of its history...reccomend sharing for brunch!
CHEF TORY MCPHAIL IS A RACIST AND SEXIST I AM A PREVIOUS EMPLOYEE WHO WAS HARASSAED BY HIM AND NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT STOP SUPPORTING RACIST RESTURANTS NEW ORLEANS NO JUSTICE NO PEACE!!
Beyond out exceptional.. food and service was amazing
This was hands down the best meal I had in New Orleans. I had a three course meal consisting of turtle soup, stuffed quail, and bread pudding souffle. The complementary bread and garlic bread was served warm and was a great precursor to the exquisite meal I had.
Unbelievable service and food. We were treated like royalty even though we didn't look as fancy as everyone else in the place. Loved it. Amazing experience.
Way overdue for my wife and i. Commanders palace is one of the best for a great reason..there simply brilliant at what they do period! Wonderful seems silly. Brilliant works perfectly, like the food and service. Do yourself a favor and call the reservation number on the website.
The pricetag is high but it was always meant to be. This place is exquisite. The atmosphere is luxurious and the waiters are extremely friendly. Our waiter's name was Lorenzo and he was extremely attentive to detail and didn't miss a beat when it came to perfect customer service. The jazz band came in from time to time and played some fine numbers and even asked for suggestions from the guests. And the food...simply divine. They truly deserve five stars and then some.
We came here for my birthday lunch. Apparently so does everyone else as the dining room was full of balloons and birthday hats. The owner/manager was walking around chatting with each table. We are locals and Commander's is still our go to place for special occasions!
Really good food though a bit overpriced. The atmosphere in the restaurant and professionalism of the staff really stand out in Commander's Palace. The turtle soup and the veal were to die for. Excellent overall experience. Nice and quiet location in the garden district. Highly recommended.
Excellent food, excellent service. Like how they changed the water glass mid meal because it was sweating. Employees seemed,to really care
This very much reaches your expectations! The service is spot on and the food is so well thought out and put together its quite ridiculous, because it s just that good! My husband and I went for lunch, I got the luncheon special- turtle More
This is the finest restaurant I have ever eaten at in my life. The service is outstanding. The food is superior. I would highly recommend this to anyone while visiting New Orleans.
Excellent experience. We picked this place for our last night in NOLA and it didn't disappoint. Food was fantastic. Chris was our server and he did a great job. Very knowledgeable about wines and the food suggestions he made were spot on. Great place for a meal
It's worth it. Do it. You won't regret the best food you've ever eaten and more than you can down. I had the brunch with Bloody Mary, Turtle Soup, Louisiana Bayou Brunch, and Bread Pudding. All of it so terribly good. I might have opted for a different dessert, but I barely ate it any of it because I just could let anything go. The jazz brunch worried me a bit, but it ended up being really cool. They ask for recommendations and can play just about anything. "Perhaps" by Cake? Sure. The one complaint is that the staff go on a bit about the owners, but I think that's a part of it. Not really a big deal.
Our Real Estate Team, the Jennifer Martin and Associates, with Keller Williams Realty from Fresno California, came to Commander's Palace with two purposes. 1) To have a very special culinary experience 2) To experience 10++ service.
Our reservation was for 8:00 p.m. and the Wine Room had been reserved for us. Our group came dressed in "Roaring 20's" attire.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel special. We were greeted by name. Every server, hostess, kitchen crew member that we passed on our way to the wine room commented on how beautiful our group looked.
Our host and sommelier was David. David's attention to detail was spot on AND his presentation was insightful. We were instructed on the history, the regions and the flavors of each course and wine.
David, Zac, and their team had the service cadence down to perfection. Our purpose for the evenings event was MORE than accomplished! The food was truly a fine culinary experience and the service was definitely one to model in our business!
Thank you Commander's Place for making service your standard!
I had been a few years ago for the jazz brunch and loved it. This time, meh. Recommended cocktail was $15. Food was good, not great like a previous visit. My husband's duck dish was too rich; it was like eating gravy. The jazz was nice, but the gentlemen lingered for tips. This is supposed to be a fancy treat, but there were several diners in jeans. Nice to visit, but $200 lunch for 3 people was excessive.
I can't say enough good things about this place. It's my favorite place for Sunday brunch. My husband and I go to NOLA every year, it's our love city!!! And he plans our stay around having Sunday brunch here! I love the atmosphere, always a band playing (my husband requests a song for me all the time), you never feel neglected by the staff, and the food is amazing!
I celebrated a small Thanksgiving with my family. I'll start out by saying the service and atmosphere was great. Everyone was nice and welcoming. This is the only reason this is not a 1 star review. It was the menu that I was unsatisfied with.
To have an internationally known restaurant offer literally zero vegan entrees, on Thanksgiving, is unacceptable. To have no vegan soups, salads, or desserts without omitting something listed on the menu seems ridiculous to me. I was not even offered non-dairy creamer for coffee.
They had only one appetizer that they doubled the portions for to make an entree. A squash and kale dish with cranberries and currants over a cashew sauce. I imagine it would be good as an appetizer, but it is not a worthy main course.
This would have been a great opportunity for the very skilled chefs at Commander's Palace to do something interesting and I am overall quite disappointed.
We say upstairs by the window what a great view. Get the crawfish ravioli it's a trip.
The atmosphere was actually better than the food. :/
One of our favorite local restaurants, it's also a hit for everyone. The atmosphere, the overall experience and service level, and the delicious food. Can't beat it ..
