The most amazing service I ve ever had! I ve dined at fine restaurants all over US and Canada. The food here is amount the best, but service was unbeatable. Kisha s smile was so genuine, we are coming back tomorrow and flying our office in this Holiday to show what we expect when we say great service.

Went there for my daughters birthday, just like we do every yr, the captain of our table (Jillian) was extremely rude. Asked for a mimosa and was basically all orange juice so then we asked for a glass of champagne and the captain said "is this for you". We also order a michelob ultra and she came back to the table with a menu and said "we dont carry that". At this point we were ready to leave but since we were there for a special occasion we didn't want to ruin it. The food took longer than normal also.

Hands down one of the best experiences at a restaurant. We had a reservation later that day but couldn't make it since we were traveling. They were able to accommodate us right away which was nice. They led us through the open kitchen to an outside sitting area and since the weather was perfect it was super pleasant. The ambiance itself was great as the outdoor looks like a nice garden. The service was impeccable, they were attentive without being annoying and have good recommendations and service. The food was delicious. We had 3 birthdays we were celebrating and when they brought the desserts there were candles and hats for the celebration. Oh and the live band. Of course it wouldn't be NOLA without live music. The band was going around playing music to match the celebration & where we were traveling from.
Overall it was amazing and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Went here for our 13yr anniversary. It was the perfect way to wrap up our trip to NOLA.

Yes it is pricey but our dishes were amazing and there really isn t a need to order sides because the portions are pretty good and at least with our entrees (filet and pecan fish) they came with some type of vegetable or small addition to the dish.

The house chopped salad was excellent! Highly recommend that for a light, crisp and fresh stater that is not heavy.

You get very personalized attention here. Great ambiance.

It is located in the Garden District so you will drive/walk by some incredible homes.

Absolutely loved this place!! Went for brunch and there was a jazz band that walked around the whole restaurant, which was cool. This place is fancy so dress the part and eat slow/take your time, they don't have to go boxes! Service is fantastic!!!

The restaurant really seems to be resting on their laurels. The experience was overall enjoyable but not commensurate to the reputation or price.

Positives:
Great wine selection
Foie Gras was delicious
Service was pretty good with the assumption that they were short-staffed that day as it seemed chaotic
The crawfish soup was exquisite

Negatives:
The bread pudding is inferior to their own cookbook s version
The pecan-crusted gulf fish lacked presentation, sauce had congealed and was overall bland
The dress code seems to have slipped over the years
Turtle soup was uninspired and indistinguishable from lesser-priced copycats

We went with a group of 8 and they accommodated with 4 separate checks for each couple. I ordered a dish and didn t realize their was goat cheese in it and they offered to exchange my entree for another. Great service by the wait staff but the food was just okay. I do recommend that you try it for yourself... Went there for lunch without a reservation, said it would be about an hour which was fine. Sat upstairs with a nice view. Staff was excellent. .25 martinis, wow. Duck confit was outstanding. French bread, outstanding. desert, outstanding. For a great meal, this is the place to go.

Still my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. When I go to Commander's I don't bother looking at the menu. I get the "chef's playground," which is a 3 or 4 course tasting menu. Upgrade your meal with the wine pairing for an unforgettable gastronomical experience. I've tried other tasting menus in the area, but nothing compares to the one here.

supposedly to be held with high standards no jeans no shorts definitely no sandals or flip-flops dress accordingly unfortunately we had the one rude staff member on this night apologies flying through the air as they gorged us with desserts lol redfish was the prize that I enjoyed the crab cake appetizer as well as the turtle soup the atmosphere was pleasant the rest of the staff was overly accommodating and apologetic for their staff member the decorum is breathtaking especially in the entrance with the silk wallpaper

The best meals we've ever had. Susan and Samantha were excellent waitresses and genuinely took pride and joy in their work and were happy to answer questions and offer suggestions. All the other staff was fantastic too from the moment we walked in. We were in New Orleans on our honeymoon and had both dinner (with the tasting menu) and lunch at Commander's. We will certainly be back. Favorites were the foie gras torchon and the bread pudding souffle, but you can't go wrong with anything.

I went for Jazz Brunch with my husband. As always, the staff was fantastic (even getting my dessert request which was off menu), the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would highly recommend locals and visitors enjoy a tasty meal at Commanders!

This is the best restaurant I ve ever been to. It was my grandmas 85th birthday, and our waiter was so kind as to bring us into the kitchen and introduce her to the chefs! The food was outstanding and well priced for 3 courses. Highly recommend stopping by, just make sure you make a reservation first.

Absolutely loved this place. Wife and I ate here in October during our stay for the Georgia/LSU game. We ate outside in the courtyard which was lovely. The building looks old on the outside but it isn't on the inside. Looks completely refurbished and modernized. They even walk you through the kitchen to get to one side which I loved. We got the Shrimp and Tasso app which was AMAZING! Also the 1-1-1 soup which allows you to sample 3 soups for an app. Fantastic. Wife had the Pecan Crusted Fish and the I had the scallops with lump crab meat on top. For dessert we got the Souffle and it was awesome. The cocktails were great as well. Will def come back when I make it back to New Orleans again. If you enjoyed this review please be sure to hit the like button. Thank you!

I was prepared for this to not meet my expectations because I didn t trust that the reviews could be true, but CP is genuinely not overhyped, has not slipped, and has superb food. Incredible scallops and pretty much everything else. Really liked coming for the jazz brunch!

Hands down the absolute best table service we've ever experienced and we are restaurant enthusiasts. The entire wait staff were working together to service all their tables and we had at least two managers check on our meal as well as help with service. It was a wonderful experience and worth every penny.

My 50th Birthday Dinner Celebration! This would not have happened if it weren't for the "Irish luck"...so when I decided to go to NOLA for my 50th I began researching the area. I came across the top restaurants to dine, and there came Commander's Palace with a link to a Netflix production called, Ella Brennan "Commanding the Table". I immediately fell in LOVE with her and the restaurant, the entire Brennan story. It just pulled at my heart strings! After a phone call to reserve I was quick to understand reservations fill up quickly and they could not accommodate my birthday request. Obviously disappointed, I figured once I arrived in New Orleans, I would at least visit the restaurant, take a few pictures and possibly go on a waiting list. However, as vacations go, I was taking in the sites and moving around the city but yet hadn't made it to the Garden District and thus hadn't seen the magical restaurant. However, the Spirit of something bigger was watching over me..so on the 17th as I was walking around the French Quarter and explaining the legacy of the wonderful chefs that began at Commanders (Paul, Emeril, Jamie, Tory) I walked into "W" hotel to use the washroom (where my sister was staying) and who was sitting in the bar area of SoBou....Ti Adelaide Martin!!! WELL, needless to say I FREAKED!!! It's Ella's daughter and she was sitting there, so of course as a "star struck fan" I explained how touched I was by her mother and the entire story of the Brennan's. I continued to tell her how wonderful it would have been to have celebrated my bday there...she immediately picked up her phone, made a call to "Brian" and moments later I had a reservation for my 50th Birthday Dinner the very next day at 7pm. It is beyond comprehension to me that in all the places I could of been on that very day, that very moment, I met Ti! I have fallen in LOVE with the Brennan's--the legacy and the impact Miss Ella had on this city. I am overly touched and amazed how this all came together and the dinner experience was amazing. I was in awe that I walked through the kitchen, sat next to the courtyard, and sampled the menu! Turtle Soup, Banana's Foster, Quail, Red Snapper, etc. In fact, I was so thrilled to be in the establishment with so much history, that dining was a second thought. I strolled through the main dining room to view the many James Beard Awards for Excellence, took in the incredible quilted stitching on the walls, and took a walk in the garden area just outside of Ella and Dotti's home. I was in AWE..THANK YOU TI! Thank you Miss Ella! Thank you NOLA!!! I will be back! xoxo

Food was incredible, service is another story. Very snobby, my wife and I are in our twenties and the majority of the restaurant was older think 40 plus. From the start they had an attitude and it was so bad we almost left before the starter arrived. It is a upscale spot but we were very well dressed, she in a lovely dress and myself in a full suit yet they behaved as if we were trashy children who don't know how to tip. We left a generous tip only because one of the waiters overheard us talking about leaving and when he saw how upset we were went out of his way to talk to the others and service improved considerably but it should never have come to that. Do not pre judge your customers it will hold you back. We may return but I do not feel strongly about that. On the plus the food is very good, I highly recommend the oyster dome.

When my sister-n-laws come to town, we always try to have lunch or brunch at Commander's Palace together. Wonderful atmosphere. The staff from the moment you walk in the door are professional and make you feel like a princess. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Commander's has delicious variety of matinees that will start you off in the right direction. I have had several different dishes here and have never been disappointed. Even the lower caloric meals are yummy. I always get their bread pudding with bourbon sauce which is delicious, but I had the opportunity to taste their home-made blue-berry sorbet and it was divine also. Parking is best if you valet, it is free, but of course tip nicely upon retrieval of your vehicle.

Not a tourist trap. Professional wait staff, excellent service, Hugo and Susan were very knowledgeable in the menu and the wine selection. Best fine dining in NOLA. The turtle soup was the best in town. Their signature dish the pecan crusted fish with a lite sauce was perfect not to rich or over powering. Had the harvest salad with watermelon radish. Finished with a lite and airy breading pudding. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Incredible food, awesome staff, and a must have experience. If you find yourself in the Big Easy, you have to take time and get Brunch at Commander's Palace. In addition to the great food, a trio of musicians played dixie and guest requests. Our brunch was fantastic, the dessert was to die for and the Bellinis were never empty. Good times!

A fancy meal in the fanciest of atmospheres. The building is historic and well decorated in a way that contrasts the surrounding neighborhood and cemetery. Dress code is enforced, but not too bad (no jacket or tie required for men, just slacks and a collar). Service is extremely friendly and helpful, almost too much so for people not used to southern hospitality. I had the gumbo and pork tostata (not what you expect it to be), and also had a chance to try the turtle soup. Everything is great tasting, flavored intelligently (not too much), and cooked to perfection. My only complaint is that everything is so filling I had trouble finishing 2 courses and skipped dessert.

Went for lunch. Very tasty food. Prix fixe are great value. Service was perfect. Had the watermelon soup as starter (slightly spicy). Main course was catfish. Good. Quite lemonee. My friend had the tamale which I recommend.

We felt that this restaurant didn't live up to its reputation. The food was very expensive for what was served. The service was in consistent in that our waiter disappeared after talking our order until it was time to bring the bill, however other support servers did continue to provide attentive service. A rating of four is being generous.

First time in New Orleans, went here for lunch. This place is great! Top notch service and the ambiance is fantastic. Definitely try the turtle soup, it's delicious. Thus far, the best meal I have ever eaten. Beware the dress code.... No shorts or gym shoes, jeans are frowned upon, collared shirts a must. Still worth it!!

First off. My momma taught me that it is better to be overdressed than under dressed. Please take this advice to heart when eating at commanders palace. The food is Spec-Ta-Cu-Lar! Once of the best meals I had in New Orleans and as you know that statement says a lot! It was five star service across the board.- great food, service, cleanliness, and overall experience. I wish we had one of these in Los Angeles!

This was a great dining experience! The ride out to the Garden District was wonderful and that area is a must-see. There is a wonderful Cemetery across the street you can explore as well. The location is so interesting and cozy. The atmosphere is more quiet and subdued than some other places, so be prepared if you are a large loud group like us. The portions were quite large and I was really happy with the prices, which I felt were generally lower than Antoine's and Brennan's in the French Quarter.

The cocktails were amazing and we all ordered a round of the most unique shots I've ever seen to start. The Shrimp and Tasso Henican appetizer was delicious. I had the Pecan Crusted Gulf Fish, which was delicious, but possibly a tiny bit overdone. However it was made up for in size because we were very hungry. The Tuna portion was one of the largest I've ever seen served in a restaurant. My husband got the Boudin Stuffed Quail, which was one of the most delicious things I have ever had. Everyone loved it! Also, remarkably, we got in and out of there with a party of 8 in ONE HOUR. That was great for us as we didn't want to be tied down to a long dinner! You do have to be well dressed - most men wore jackets and most women were in dresses or dress pants and heels. My only complaint was the limited menu - there could have been 1-2 more options that would have rounded things out.

Bottom Line: Commander's Palace > Antoine's.

We were visiting NOLA for my nephews girlfriends birthday and she chose this place for her birthday dinner. The place was amazing!! Food was great. The Commander's Bread Pudding Souffle was the best!!! Staff was beyond friendly. At one point my niece asked to go to the restroom and was escorted there locked in arms with the wait staff. Nobody waited for their food as everyone got theirs at the same time. It is upscale, so it isn't for everyone, but it is well worth the price!!

Bucket list experience for jazz Saturday brunch in New Orleans. Service was professional and technically sound, but ultimately going through motions with little genuine hospitality.

Food was amazing and on point. Would like to have dinner here too, but happy we had the jazz brunch.

Make sure to have turtle soup. Worth the visit alone!!!

Not much value on wine list. But for sure variety.

Recently brought my son in for a 21st birthday dinner. The food, drinks, and desserts were all top-notch and exactly what you would expect. The only suggestion for improvement would be, that our server was a bit too chatty and was making some strange joking gestures. Otherwise another classic amazing New Orleans meal. If you are reading reviews...JUST GO NOW.
