The administration is incompetent. Some of the professors are good but most of them have no idea what they're talking about. CORE is a joke. (They'll lie about it during orientation, but that's Champlain, they like about things.) The student culture is unbearable. DO NOT go to this school.

I was interested in this school and decided to apply. When I sent in my portfolio, I didn't receive any word back from them. No letter of rejection or acceptance, no emails telling me I was missing information, just silence. It took so long to get a response that I had assumed they rejected me and decided to go to another school. Then they suddenly wanted to talk to me about my portfolio months after I had applied. When I sent an email saying that while I was going to another school I was curious to know why I hadn't received any word from them for so long, I got no response again. Two weeks later, I got a letter saying that I was rejected. If something this happens to your child just apply to another school.
We chose Champlain because of its unique "upside down" curriculum, and its international reputation for excellence in Digital Forensics. We love the campus, the town of Burlington, and the small enrollment size. I've found the administrative staff incredibly helpful any time I've called about any issue. It's got a very comfortable private school vibe.
This is a beautiful campus and very well run college. The only problem is how small it is and the limited number of programs, which is why I am giving it 4 stars. It is a good school with lots of potential and one of the best in the state in terms of academics and faculty.

I loved my experience in the MFA program at Champlain. I had awesome, intelligent profs who seemed deeply invested in the education of our class. We had the freedom to explore the topics that interested us as well as the guidance to better understand them through the lens of the program. In my undergrad I went to a far larger school with far more advanced facilities for things like rapid prototyping, and wood/metal shops, but during my time at Champlain they improved their facilities significantly, which was very encouraging to see. The school and profs were also really involved with the local community which is something that was nice to see and experience.
Great School, teachers really care. The facilities and gym are nice but small. Champlain has an great computer science/game design department. The food is averagely bad sodexo fair.
Instant professional development. I was able to learn in a virtual classroom setting and apply to my professional work life as I was attending while full time employed.

If you're interested in a great education from professors that work in the industry then Champlain College is your place. Also the town of Burlington is amazing. Champlain also has a beautiful campus!
Champlain College is the greatest college in the United States of America. The opportunities at this college will then lay a foundation for your future career and you will crush the competition. It s 2018 and I m still crushing the game this college has gotten me here
Cafeteria Is so laughably bad for how expensive this school is. I could see why the retention rate would be so low. Hard to be motivated to stay here without a large scholarship. Amazing professors.

We love Champlain College for our son. We think he is receiving one of the best educations he possibly can - we view Champlain as a wonderful start for his adult career and life.
There are so many reviews on here that are complete bull. The professors do care, but it isn't kindergarten, if you go to your classes you will pass. If you don't go, you wont. They aren't going to baby your hand along the process, and if you don't know that yet then you aren't ready for any college. Nobody here is snobby, everyone is so open and I already have tons of friends. Also I dress up in a sweater and skinny jeans to school every day and get absolutely no issues. I don't know how CORE could be a "lie" as CORE is a class not a statement, and the CORE classes aren't even that bad. You only get like two CORE classes each semester. Then one math, and one science for all the four years that you are here (Depending on your major, I'm Film). The rest of your classes you get are related to whatever your major is. You will start your major the first week that you start here. You get to learn your trade instantly. Also you don't just send in your portfolio to get in, you have to actually apply to the school through their application. All of this is so simple. This is such an easy school. I already have an amazing job with the school, I get to sleep in until 11 every day, and my grades are higher in here then they were in high school. Don't listen to the salty kids who went skipping 10 classes a week then flunked out because they couldn't handle the responsibility.

Great college with amazing staff. All the professers I've interacted with have immense knowledge of their subject and are more than willing to help you if you ask for it. If you try in your classes and want to learn, then you'll do great. If you want to stay in your room and play games and skip classes, you will fail out. Don't think this school is an easy A.
Sent my son there for four years Look for another college for your kid if you care about them. Too much to add. Don t waste your money sending them there
The teachers don't care. If you don't snowboard or anything then you don't fit in. CORE is a lie and the credits from the actual school don't transfer.
