My husband and I were both in Coliseum Hospital in Macon, Ga. We were there in January a week apart. We both were diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. We each had different symptoms and when we arrived at the Emergency Room we got immediate care!! I can t say enough good about our experience!! We received excellent care on 3rd and 4th floor. I was on 3rd. My husband was on 3rd and then was moved to 4th. They gave us excellent care!!!!! They seemed very well staffed. We both feel we made an excellent choice by going to Coliseum! I would highly recommend them.
In Emergency Room when my husband was admitted Dr. Buckert talked with us and we were very impressed with him. Also, Dr. Sid on 3rd for me was very good and took time to talk with me!!
So we were very impressed with our experience!! Coliseum is an outstanding facility and their Emergency Room is very well organized!!!

My daughter and I both were at the coliseum to be seen and the doctor we had didn t really seem too concerned about how we were feeling. We were both experiencing nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. My symptoms also included body aches. There were no beds. While we were there my daughter continued to vomit while we were in the waiting area. After a while we were both finally seen and after we were seen it was a while before we were given any medication for our symptoms and it was just a tablet for nausea. I was given nothing for pain. My daughter had an appointment with her doctor two days after our ER visit and I found out that my daughter s ears were full of fluid which the ER doctor neglected to tell me because he checked her ears as well. Not to mention when I went to pick up the prescription the ER doctor prescribed I was told that he didn t take the insurance we have so I had to cover the meds that he prescribed. How do you allow a doctor to see a patient who s insurance is not accepted by that doctor? I have never heard of that in all my years of living. The coliseum has gotten awful. During my mother s stay in the hospital during October of 2020 she was also treated horribly by staff and sent home while she was still ill and had to return which resulted in her having to stay even longer the second time around and also go on a ventilator. I almost lost my mother due to negligence. I don t know what has happened at the coliseum but it used to be one of the best facilities. I ve been very disappointed the last couple of visits I ve had.

I was very disappointed with my care at this hospital. I showed up over 3 times with my son telling them he does not feel well with headaches, nausea and stomachache and they treated me as if I was just overreacting and went through the motion but had no real concern. As if I would just show up to an Er if I didn t really think something was seriously wrong. They gave us Tylenol and zofran but never really looked into the issue. Come to find out my son was suffering with an impaction which is very dangerous. They symptoms he had are all symptoms of an impact ion but because they didn t care they didn t really investigate our situation. I thought this was a top hospital and I can t express how disappointed I am. Luckily I kept looking into the matter and didn t allow their nonchalance to affect my concerns

I went to the ER yesterday. It was my first time going to an ER since moving to Georgia. This is the worst Emergency room I have ever been too. I was seen at an Urgent Care the day before but the pain had gotten significantly worse (possible pulled/torn Muscle in back/ broken rib/ blood clot concern). While i understand only one of these could be considered emergent I needed help which is why i went. I arrived at 2:15 and left at 5:30 While i would consider this a reasonable amount of time to be at an ER the whole experience was terrible. The posted wait times are based on how fast they can process you in triage and registration. The staff showed absolutely no concern for my condition at the time of arrival and while in triage It was like being processed at the DMV and absolutely no patient privacy. Sent back out to wait in the waiting room where i could not bend down enough to sit in their chairs. I asked the desk if they had a taller chair so i could sit down as being on my feet was causing tremendous paid and they said sorry thats all we have. I was walked back to xray And the whole time i was in tears from the pain and being manipulated on the table (i understood the importance) but i was never once offered a wheel chair or anything to ensure i wasn t causing futher damage or to ease my discomfort. I was sent back to the waiting room. I noticed my name on the screen that said i was in a room so i asked the desk if i had missed being called back and was told I was in their fasttrack room which is for non emergent and was basically the waiting room. For the next 2.5 hours i was waiting with no concern for my condition or discomfort. No one offered a chair i could sit in so i took it upon myself to sit in the security s desk chair. By the time i saw the nurse (not Doctor) my pain had significantly increased, she was the only good thing about this visit. I told her my concerns with my experience and she agreed i looked extremely uncomfortable and in a lot of pain and apologized for my experience and offered i speak to the director. At this point i just wanted to be treated and to go home. Im sure i will recieve an extortionate bill (my portion of deductible) for what can be considered an awful experince which left me in more pain than when i arrived. I have never been made to feel more like just a number than i did here. There is no concern for the patients comfort, privacy or wellbeing. I will never go back to this hospital.

I also want to add while i understand they experienced a flood in their rooms , i was disgusted at how patients were lining the hallways in gurneys. Not just one or two but Several people. I feel if you cannot provide the level of care, comfort or Privacy for your patients you should shut down your ER until repairs are completed.

I also recommend training staff to at least act like they care about patients. When i go to an Emergency Room i expect to be treated like i matter, that im important enough to be treated with dignity and respect. for over 2 hours staff watched me pace, sit and stand in pain and not one offered or asked if there was anything they could do to help. I have never in my life been made to feel as i did yesterday.

I'm not sure why the food service was questionable especially as far as a menu. I never did see one when I got a call for my meals I had to ask what is available and continue the questions to figure out what I wanted as I didn't know what was available. Then received good sweet tea but as I had recently been diagnosed with diabetes and was told that I would have a light diet that didn't make a lot of sense along with the desserts and other options that I did get.
The nurse seating staff is always courteous mostly aware but seem to be loosely connected for communications between shifts. First nurse asked second nurse to acquire pumps for leg pressure support and that never did happen. So of course that option didn't get used. The portable urinal wasn't something to be noticed by a nurse I had to request sometimes twice over to get it emptied as I was not supposed to get up without help. So I chose to use it instead of bothering nurses which I thought were busy. I have done this enough that I recognize some of the folks that come true to see me. I had a short stay and I'm glad because I don't want to take space for people that need it but thanks for your response reactions to my needs and the needs of so many others. Y'all take care of yourself while you're caring for so many others.

Out of the 39 years of my life having EVER used the services from an Emergency Department from any hospital being for myself, friend(s), or family have I encountered a doctor with such genuine empathy and with a 100% sincere concern for my wellbeing such as I personally had received from Dr. John Shivdat. I was treated and seen by him as an individual person needing medical treatment; not as "just another case" or as a "chart number". He took special care to ensure I received the proper pain relief and was proactive in getting all of the necessary tests done to help him find a diagnosis for me. Dr. Shivdat also went out of his way to personally contact his colleague, a specialist for my diagnosis so I was able to be seen in his office the following business day for a treatment plan. That specialist is Dr. Winston Jeshuran. As a new pt in his office and never being seen from him before I instantly felt a sense of ease and comfort from him and all of the office staff. Dr. Jeshuran thoroughly explained to me what my diagnosis was and what it meant. I was clearly educated with options that I had and what each outcome would be for them. Together he and I decided on the procedure that would best suite me for my present and future health. Dr Jeshuran's team continued to wow me all the way into the operating room. Everyone was pleasant and professional. I felt without a doubt I was in good hands. Dr Jeshuran and Dr Shivdat live up to, if not excel all expectations of the Hippocratic Oath. Though I'm still in the healing process of my surgery and have just been discharged from the hospital I feel very positive and fortunate for the opportunity to have had my procedure done by such an amazing surgeon. If I ever have to opportunity to refer a person to Dr Jeshuran I will not hesitate. Going back to speaking about Dr. Shivdat, he too, has a special place held within me that will forever be gratefully held high with appreciation. Thank you to both of you so very much for the kindness and the professionalism shown. Once again, thank you both so very much for helping me get back to health.
Sincerely,
Wendy Yancey

I have had 3 back surgeries one which failed and had a fall a few nights ago which caused massive pain. Had to be transported in ambulance. My doctor looked like he just finished a Happy Meal and was very happy with his surprise. NO xray or exam of any kind was performed. The only treatment I received was two Tylenol and a pain patch. I was amazed of the treatment practices. Needless to say if I knew my care was going to consist of that I could have stayed home and treated myself and saved a 4hr SNAFU.

Best experience I've had at the ER EVER! Had some of the best employees their the night I went! I was there about 5 hours. 5 hours may seem long but we had no idea what was wrong. I had to take several different test and with all them test I was surprisingly out of there rather quickly. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because it took an hour just to get discharge papers... Im not sure why it took so long..

Our experience with the medical and nursing staff ...

Our experience with the medical and nursing staff was good; however, the case manager, Kim, assigned to assist our loved one was awful. She came into the patient's room with a less than stellar attitude; was offended when we questioned her and suggested we were not getting the information medical staff advised she should be able to assist us with. Her touted 30 years of experience has made Kim the epitome of an awful case manager. Were I her employer, she would receive a pink slip and be escorted off the premises. It only takes one employee to put a bad taste in one's mouth. Thank you Kim for making this one of the worst encounters with a case manager I have ever had. #itstimetoreleaseKim #worldsworstcasemanager.

I don t usually post bad reviews, however, I feel I need to, in this situation. I had neck surgery on Dec 5,. Things went very well, checking in and getting prepared for surgery. It was after the surgery, that the problem began. Long story short, I was in recovery from 9:00a.m. Until 5:00 p.m. while I m don t usually complain, because I work in the medical field and I realize, things happen. I just don t understand the wait time. This was a scheduled surgery.

I would happily give 5 stars with regard to Dr. Keith Martin and his staff. They are awesome. But the parking situation has gotten increasingly worse since last year with more and more reserved spots unavailable to patients. My search for parking took far longer than my appointment with the doctor. It's very frustrating to have to arrive 45 minutes earlier than needed to be on time for an appointment just because it can take that long to find parking.

I do not remember the first week or so of my hospitalization but my daughter told me that I received excellent care in the ICU. The floor I was moved to was extremely warm so besides not being able to eat or drink anything...I was miserable. I was not thinking clearly due to medication, but I do remember being threatened with restraints. I was moved to another floor, by request of my daughter, which was much cooler but I was expected to do more for myself than I was able. One of the CNAs even chastised me for not being able to make it to the bathroom in time when I had debilitating diarrhea from receiving high powered antibiotics. I'm a retired nurse and have never treated anyone the way she treated me. Everyone else was kind and helpful and treated me with respect and dignity.

I was apprehensive about taking my husband to the Coliseum since we had always used another hospital. However, from the time we walked in the ER until the time my husband was discharged 3 days later, we had nothing but a pleasant experience. The staff there were patient focused and wanted to make sure my husband was comfortable. I would definitely use the Coliseum again if we find ourselves needing health care again.

Careful sending ur young adult to this facility. ...

Careful sending ur young adult to this facility. Their psych program is supposed to be good, good docs there IF they have a bed available. IF not, literally no place to lay down for three days plus, and treated like animals/criminals- potentially even more damaging to ur young adult. Difficult on young adults with invisible special needs and staff will not talk to concerned parents about your young adult even WITH ur young adults consent. Very poor communication even when you contact patient advocate, nursing supervisors etc. Quite evident the ER staff and hospital staff could care less about the welfare of ur young adult child and their very concerned loved ones during a mental health/physical CRISIS- except for one super ER MD who DID and TRIED his best. Broken health care system one MD cannot control- universal everywhere. So if no psych beds available please beware and pray u get this concerned ER MD. If my young adults health coverage was not exclusive to this facility, would of had taken elsewhere.
I went to this ER many years ago, for angina, and a joke. Told going to see a cardio, never did -poor communication - and d/ced with reflux RX already on and documented heart issues, all before my cardiac arrest a few years later. So this ER scares me. Vowed to never return, never have until my young adult crashed.
However kind of difficult to check into all that when a love one is in the middle of a mental health CRISIS and suicidal.

No one wants to go to the hospital I certainly don't but if you have to this is quite a nice place. The charge nurse and her staff were absolutely wonderful. I received the BEST care and attention from the nurses, doctor's, anesthesiologist, etc. Everyone introduced themselves, they were kind and caring. What more can you ask for. Thanks to all the staff for not only being professional but for really caring about your patients!

My wife had a quadruple bypass surgery here on Tuesday, 7/3/2018. My wife, my family, and I have nothing but praises for our entire stay.

I will point out the CVICU team since we were there longer than any where else. Incredible professional caring people who assisted in my wife's well being and healing.

I/ have no cons for the people there. My only suggestion is for the hospital to provide a shower for family members who are staying overnight.

I highly recommend this hospital. Kudos to the entire team.

My mother went by ambulance to this hospital for the second time in a little more than a week's time. After spending several hours in ER, she was ready to be discharged. Someone from the hospital notified me, and I told them (again) I did not live in the area and was on the way back home from Macon. I questioned the decision to discharge her, and they said they would talk to the doctor again. I did not hear anything back until a neighbor told me an ambulance was dropping off my mother at her home, and she had no key. No one informed me this was going to happen, and they should have, so I could have arranged for a ride for her. Irresponsible and reprehensible behavior.

I recently went in for surgery. After my surgery I was recovering and stayed in the womens part of the hospital where women usually just finished giving birth. All the staff, nurses, the techs, and housekeepers were super nice and attentive. It was my first time having surgery and I can honestly say besides the pain, everyone that I came in contact with made it a very good experience. Special thank you to nurse Jessica and Tech Leah. You made my hospital stay very comfortable and safe. You made me feel like I was more then just another patient. Thank you.

I was so pleased with the service I received at the Emergency room. I was treated as if I was the only patient, or at least the only one of any importance. A huge Thankyou to everyone at Coliseum Emergency Room.

I was not happy with the fact that I had to go into one. Uildnijg to register for x-rays. After that I was led out of the building down a flight of stairs to get my -rays. I have trouble with stairs after 3vack surgeries and one neck surgery. X- rays were related to issues with these surgeries. After my x-rays I was invited back out the door to wait on the sidewalk for my ride to pick me up. This to me showed a total lack of respect for me as a patient.

21 years go I had a baby at this hospital it was great. But I can't say that for my grandbaby. My daughter was suppose to be induced at midnight buy we sit here now waiting again for her to make a phone call to see if they can take her in. There excuse is they are short staffed but why would you set an appointment and then not honor it. We will have our baby here
because it's to late to change but you can rest assured that the next one will not be born there and anybody I come in contact with will no they don't need to either. So my suggestion to you guys is to hire more nurses because babies aren't going anywhere
