Careful sending ur young adult to this facility. Their psych program is supposed to be good, good docs there IF they have a bed available. IF not, literally no place to lay down for three days plus, and treated like animals/criminals- potentially even more damaging to ur young adult. Difficult on young adults with invisible special needs and staff will not talk to concerned parents about your young adult even WITH ur young adults consent. Very poor communication even when you contact patient advocate, nursing supervisors etc. Quite evident the ER staff and hospital staff could care less about the welfare of ur young adult child and their very concerned loved ones during a mental health/physical CRISIS- except for one super ER MD who DID and TRIED his best. Broken health care system one MD cannot control- universal everywhere. So if no psych beds available please beware and pray u get this concerned ER MD. If my young adults health coverage was not exclusive to this facility, would of had taken elsewhere.
I went to this ER many years ago, for angina, and a joke. Told going to see a cardio, never did -poor communication - and d/ced with reflux RX already on and documented heart issues, all before my cardiac arrest a few years later. So this ER scares me. Vowed to never return, never have until my young adult crashed.
However kind of difficult to check into all that when a love one is in the middle of a mental health CRISIS and suicidal.
