This is the worst hospital horrible staff, drags out treatment for nothing, and do not listen to patients.
This is the worst hospital horrible staff, drags out treatment for nothing, and do not listen to patients.
An 8.5 hour wait for a scheduled surgery is inappropriate. Please take your patients and their families into consideration.
This by far was my easiest and fastest check in for a procedure! I also had wonderful staff in the cath lab and cath lab recovery unit! I really would like to thank Bobbie, Lisa, and Megan (my nursing staff) as well as Michael who assisted me in and out of the hospital. As always, Dr. Oddis was wonderful and was able to determine what was going on with me. I feel better and blessed to have had such a great team assisting me last week!
I remember when Coliseum Medical Centers had the best reputation in Macon, GA. I had both my children there (1979 and 1982), and had surgery there in 1991. Excellent care, etc.
My grandchild was born there two days ago, and I was appalled at some of the practices they cling to in the birthing center. Confining laboring mothers to bed except to go to the restroom, no birthing tubs, pushing epidurals even when the expectant mother says her birth plan is to try it without medication, and more. The doctor asked my daughter in law what her birth plan was, and when she was told "skin on skin as soon as possible", the doctor asked what she meant by skin on skin. And this was not some elderly male doctor; this was a young woman! Staff can come get baby and take it to the nursery or wherever, but no one is allowed to go with baby. (Say if they were taking the baby to have its pictures made, family or mom cannot go with them.)
I live in a lower income county in Western North Carolina, and work in the county with the highest teen pregnancy stats in the entire state of NC. Yet in our local hospital are two birthing tubs, laboring moms are not routinely confined to bed with two monitors strapped across their tummies, laboring moms are allowed to walk in the halls if they wish to help labor along. The cord is not routinely cut until it has stopped pulsating. If the baby must leave the mother's room for any reason, the spouse or in our case when my daughter had her child the mom's mother, are allowed to go with Baby.
The nurse on duty the morning of my granddaughter's birth was on top of her game. She realized both mother and baby were in immediate danger as soon as she came in at the beginning of her shift, and thanks to her quick thinking and the doctor being in the room, they saved both mother and baby. I am convinced we would have lost one or both of them otherwise.
Coliseum Medical Centers really needs to get out of the 70s and 80s when it comes to birthing practices.
I came here after a terrible experience at Navicent Health Med Center. The staff was very professional and nice! I was seen as soon as I got there and wasn't waiting for a long time like most ERs.
A very close friend of mine was admitted to this hospital, and All The Doctors and Nurses went out of their way and gave us every thing we needed, I cant call all or any of these people by name, but they will all know who this is.
This is room 511 and you all will be happy to know that I'm sending this from SC, Thank you all for everything.
Love each and everyone of you!!!
Charles & Myra
511 west side!!
Wonderful experience. The registrars exemplified costumer service at the highest level.
Had an ultrasound test. Hannah, the tech, proved professional and personable. Bravo!
Everyone that I came into contact with were very professional and kind. You are already a little nervous and they eased that. Everyone was great!
Possible broken right foot. Arrived 3:20am. It is now 5:54 and my x-ray hasn't been reviewed by a doctor???????? BTW, only one other patient in waiting room when I arrived, and she just left. Also, was NEVER offered a wheelchair by the staff or nurse's, my boyfriend had to go find one himself.. have pictures of the waiting room showing NO ONE else here.....
I will have to say that my last experience at coliseum hospital was a good one. I was seen about quickly, thank god! Because my eye was driveing me crazy and i was in pain. The dr. Acted quickly and professionally. They explained everything to me and took care of my problem, quickly. I was very happy with the care i got. They did a excellent job! I left there painfree, with nothing but a prescription for some eye drops . it couldent have been a better experience. Good job coliseum !
I had to have a CT scan last week and had never been to the hospital. They couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. Everyone was great. It was also very clean.
I didn't have any problems. I have a suggestion for when someone like myself needs to an Xray, Bloodwork, or any kind of test like that needs to stay in Building C to help keep myself and other patients safe from getting sick with something. I did not like having to sit by a lot more people in building E because it felt a lot smaller room, which to me is NOT a smart idea right now with Covid 19 goving on. If you are not able to keep other people their in Building C then maybe you need to start hiring other people. This was my first time having to go for any kind of testing in Building E.
I took my wife to the emergency room at the Coliseum Drive location. She was experiencing severe pain in her right ear and jaw. She was admitted quickly and then 15 minutes after being placed in a room in the ER the doctor came in took a look in her ear and told her she had a severe ear infection and proceeded to tell her that he was prescribing a pain med, an oral antibiotic, and ear drops with steroids.
We sat there waiting for another 2 hours repeatedly asking them for her to receive something for the pain with no results. At the end of 3 hours and repeated visits from a staff member who had no idea of what she was doing regarding paper work so that we could pay our bill and leave, my patience began to wear thin. I stepped out the door and managed to catch the doctor who had seen her and ask him how much longer it would be, only to discover that they had placed her paper work in the wrong file. He apologized and said that they had been treating a patient who was "REALLY" sick and things had gotten a little confused.
We paid the $188 fee because we have no insurance because it's too expensive under the "AFFORDABLE" care act and were classified as a CHARITY case. I didn't ask for charity, all I
wanted was to pay what I owed now and be billed for the rest.
Finally after spending 3 1/2 hours there she was released and when we went to get the prescriptions filled for pain reliever (cheap), antibiotic (cheap), steroid ear drops ($167 with a discount ) for a total bill of $188. Funny how the hospital bill (co-pay) was the same as the medicine.
The health care system in this country is out of control. We would be better off not to own anything work for minimum wage and get free trips to the hospital and let all the other suckers pay for it. If Insurance was truly affordable instead of costing as much as a house payment every month then maybe things would run more smoothly at the ER because when you tell them you don't have insurance and that you are going to pay cash you may as well be speaking a foreign language.
The Coliseum is a wonderful hospital. Every time that I have been admitted and have had a long stay they were so friendly and very informative.
The moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted. I was somewhat apprehensive, but the staff showed patience and concern.
They were amazing from beginning until the end. But the Heart Cath. Center went above and beyond. Our nurse paige on a scale of 1 to 10 i would give a 11. Thank you again for taking care of my husband Danny Peacock!!
We had a great experience at Coliseum! The nurses and staff in Labor and Delivery were great!
All the staff were friendly & professional for my entire stay. This has been my 2nd time having to spend the night in the last 2 years and despite the circumstances it was a very good experience.
The two ladies downstairs in Admissions (next to Lobby) were excellent; personable, friendly, patient, gave good, easy to follow directions and explanations. Same with the student handling the CT scan. Parking is ridiculous.
I had a great birthing and recovery experience at this hospital! The nurses, tech, sanitation people, and even dietary person who delivered the food were all so nice and always made sure I had what I needed! Couldn t have asked for a more active and caring crew. Me and my baby boy are back home and doing great with their help from the first couple of days after my csection. Wish the same for anyone else!
Been in the e.r. For an hour now with possible ectopic pregnancy, and yet I'm still just sitting here waiting while they've called 5 other people who came in for minor issues after me. Online wait time still reads 5-7 mins. I've been here an hour and a half!
This hospital is really wonderful. They were very thorough, efficient and the staff was extremely caring and professional. I was seen in the emergency room while traveling on vacation, and this facility was on point! Thank you to all of the great Doctors who cared for me, but an even bigger thank you goes to the superb nursing staff, who make the Doctors job so much easier :) you all are just fantastic! xoxo
I was well cared for from start to discharge! Medical team was great, professional and friendly!
Nothing. I came in for a procedure that should have taken 4hours max. I ended up staying the night. I was left cold, no doctor was ever seen and when paged was curt. Cud not leave AMA as insur may not of paid. Sore from the bed, unnotified of my current health status, and completely posses off. To top all off my medical file was lost and by the second day it had yet to be located...I will never seek help here again.
Everyone here was awesome. Kehli was very nice when checking me in. Dr Minnette, Racara and Judy were amazing. Each one took the time to tell before hand what was going to be done and then during the procedure as well. I would definitely recommend everyone of them to anyone who has a breast cancer scare.
Thankful that they have nurses available to talk to you on the phone when you re not feeling well. Thanks for the help, Karen!
Everyone was professional. Two things I would have appreciated, that is I would have preferred being told about the 3D procedure that is now available before arriving so that I could have checked with my insurance company that they covered this, could have been told when making my appointment, & they should give you the option of e mail billing or being billed by mail at time of your appointment rather than just asking what your e mail address is & automatically setting you up for e mail billing. I would think this would save the coliseum time & money. Tell the patient why your asking for their e mail. I did receive my results quicker than I thought I would. Thank you, Donna Kent
Worse experience possible. This has to be the worse hospital in GA.
I was really scared going into my surgery. But the staff at the Coliseum put my worries to ease. The best was nurse Susan on the night crew on the day of my surgery,11-2-2020, was absolutely fabulous!!! I was feeling really sick after surgery that night and my stomach wasnt taking well to the meds and I kept feeling very sick to my stomach. She stayed by my side and worked one on one with me until we got the meds straight and the nausea feeling gone. I have NEVER had a staff member at any hospital treat me with the upmost care and concern. I thanked her before her shift was up that morning and told her she was my guardian angel on Earth that night. More hospitals need staff members like Nurse Susan!
5 STARS Coliseum Medical!!!
Pure joke in health care. Can t even feed there patients. Another reason no one comes to this hospital.
I was taken care of & my needs were attended to very well. I have no complaints. I am glad that things went so quickly & were successful.
Nurses and all staff were pleasant and attentive, surgeon did a great job and there were no complications.
Everyone was so personable, from check in, through the tests.... EVERYONE! They were so caring and encouraging!! Thank you so much!!
I was asked to come in early at 9:30 am. The person I was coming in early for showed up and was taken in before me. I was the last patient in the cath lab and did not get home until 7:30pm. Doesn't seem fair to me.
My wife phoned me today from her room 558 at 1:30 p.m. and told me she had soiled herself, diarrhea. At 3:30 they had told her 3 times, they were on the way to help her clean up. TWO HOURS and no one came to help her.
Love this place for a hospital the staff r amazing and great at there jobs
Awful hospital. Told my mother she had constipation, when she had am bowel obstruction. Will never go back. Awful doctor, but had a great nurse is the only positive thing.
Not a good place to go if you need a vascular DR.plus they had no rooms for people to even go to to if they keep you halls are full of people waiting for a room
They had me sitting in the waiting room and when i went to ask how much longer the results they told me i was being discharged and i didnt even know what was wrong with me not only that but i repeatedly asked then to help me to the restroom and they ignored me and sat there. I thought of this hospital better. Its like all of the hospitals in macon have careless staff who are only there for a damn paycheck! Worst hospital might be worst than the medical center itself. I do not recommend this place at all!!!!! If i could give -5 stars I would... They better hope i dont get an attorney and sue also because of the fact my information is confidentail and the fact that someone blurt out my diagnosis at the front desk is outrageous
I would never go back!!!!!!!!! I m 10 weeks pregnant and I was in so much pain they had me waiting 3 hours before I just decided to leave. I mean they took people to the back that had colds but I guess me being pregnant wasn t important.
From the check-in through every phase of treatment, I was very pleased with the care I received. Communication was clear and the attention given to my comfort before and after my procedure was excellent.
I delivered my baby at Coliseum and I had a wonderful experience throughout my pregnancy. I had an emergency c sec and the nurses and doctors treated me so well there. They handled my situation so well that I have a healthy baby and I recovered so quickly. Thanks a lot Coliseum.
A wonderful customer experience in the Women's Center at Coliseum Medical Centers. The entire staff was courteous, efficient, professional and kind. My radiology tech, Judy, could not have been more pleasant and genuinely caring the entire time she was with me. Thank you for making what could have be an uncomfortable visit, one where I felt very well cared for and that my care my was of utmost importance to them.
Didn t have any concerns with the staff. Friendly and helpful.
I appreciate the friendliness of the staff. The only bad thing is my doctor couldn t get my results back without sending over a release form and she was the ordering doctor. I m still waiting for my results.
The stuff was very nice to me during my stay. I had Brittany the RN, the last day I was there & she goes out of her way, to make you as comfortable as possible.
Every year I have my MRI and the staff is really professional and kind, i Can go to others centers close to my house but I prefert drive there.
The place is made by who takes care of you . that was very nice, The Coliseum has equipment pretty outdated.
The ER doctors at the Coliseum treat everyone with quality care. I was discharged in less than four hours with a diagnosis and a medication sent to my pharmacy.
The staff at Coliseum Medical Centers are truly caring & happy to be here. Just like family.
Arrived at 10am and discharged about 12:30 pm the same day. Very thorough and professional. Good bed side manner. They taken blood pressure, x rays, blood work, cat scan. Did all that and they were so nice to me and about my situation. Have to wait a couple of days for the results of blood work but being there I wasn't afraid to ask questions and talk to the Dr.
Big thumbs up to y'all. Keep up the good work. So worth the long trip.
I walked in was seen immediately doctors and nurses was very friendly didn't spend a long time there I like that discharge was very professional.
Three days ago, my husband was brought to the Emergency Room at Coliseum Medical Center on Hospital Drive in Macon Georgia. We arrived at their busiest time when every staff member was running just to keep up with the volume of sick people coming in. It can be easy to let it get to you and miss all they do but if you look closer, you can see the real picture. Staff under enormous pressure, while on the front line, doing all the work, taking all the abuse and still smiling while under appreciated. My husband is still alive because of these amazing unappreciated warriors at Coliseum Hospital. To the Emergency Room, Heart Cath, Surgical Staff, Anesthesia, Respiratory, Lab, XRay, CVICU, Staff, Housekeeping, Cafeteria, Nurses, Doctors and Physician Assistants...Thank you ALL.
This site will not allow the excessive characters it took to try to thank you all personally for all you are doing. Please look in Yelp to find my FULL Review. God bless you all.
Had a way better experience 9 years ago. I feel as though the nurses use COVID-19 as a reason to give less than perfect bedside manner. All of my nurses were ok during my stay there to give birth, but the last nurse I had that discharged me was not the best. My insurance pays for a lot and she did not even want to bring me the minimal items for me to take home to help with my healing process. Her excuse was A lot of people are having babies as if that was something new.
The wait in admissions was longer than expected, but that was the only minus. I haven t been to that hospital for any procedure in years and it appears they have really been working hard to make our experience much better. I thought the escorts, the small personal TV to watch while waiting for the procedure, and the box lunch was a nice touch.
The hospital was very clean.
The staff , from the finance Dept all the way to the wheel chair guy was very nice and helpful. They acted as if they have done this before. Thank you.
Scott in the ER needs to learn how to talk to people. Rude!!!
Very slow. Wait time was 4 mins on website. Got there BP was 226/129 sat there 2 hours and left
From my pre-op appointment for my surgery to the discharge after my surgery I was treated with respect and kindness.
Everything was great. Sign in, treatment, people, until I got home and still had my IV in my arm. Found it when I took my shirt off.
I broke my neck in Feb 2014, have had pancreatitis in Dec 2014, Apr 2015, and Jul 2015; all 4 things were taken care of at the Coliseum Medical Center. The attention I received was outstanding, from the hospitalists to the nurses, to the dietitians! Everything was handled professionally, caring, and in a timely fashion!! People in this day and age think everything has to be done in 15 minutes, but the experts at Coliseum work as quickly and efficiently as they possibly can!! I have always been extremely satisfied with this hospital and will continue to use it as often as necessary!!
My visit in the ER was good. Dr. Shivdat was really good at listening and explaining things to me. The ladies that checked my vitals during my stay was Lolita and Brittany working room # 336. Both of these ladies had a very nice demeanor and made sure that I had anything that I needed. Dr. Sedfawy was a god send. He was the one who got my treatment started that actually worked.
I was well pleased with the service I received at the Coliseum Hospital. Thank you, Earl Arnold
Spa treatment at a mammogram? It was wonderful! Warmed robes and friendly staff...the only thing missing was the massage and the chocolate mints!
All the staff members were professional and very supportive with my visit.
I saw my gynecologist in the Lanier building 10/28/2020. As usual, I parked on the top deck and walked in to the office. No issues.
Terrible staff that was not sensitive to the needs of the patient. They are trying to send me home still hurting in my chest and with shortness of breath. I'll be back in the hospital tomorrow and whose fault will it be?
Very professional staff. From check-in to actually getting the service, everyone provided quality service.
Not used to the hospitals here in Ga,Fl hospitals you can request to speak to a ER nurse and they would give you advice on a situation, but here you just get rude people that answer the phone and receive no help
My experience was very good.i had a wonderful lady. nurse Maureen she was one the best nurse I have ever met. caring, attentive and knows her job. My only complaint was the food area was not really happy about that. Other than that great experience.
Extremely nice staff. Very pleasant experience for Mom, both in the acute unit following a stroke and in the rehab unit.
I am really amazed that this facility have received anything less that 4 or 5 star reviews! My family and I have received nothing but 5 star service from the doctors, nurses, and other staff in all my experiences. In 2013, my wife experienced a postpartum hemorrhage losing half of her blood. The LD nurses protocol was life saving! My wife would not be here today if it wasn't for the Coliseum staff. Fast forward to this weekend, and we are still satisfied after a visit to the ER with my father in law. He unknowingly was experiencing a dangerous middle aortic aneurysm! The ER doctor discovered it and emergency surgery was conducted. He spent one night in CVICU with exceptional 5 star care! The whole staff from the ER all the way to his regular room was 5 star quality!
My son had an emergency appendectomy at the hospital, they were wonderful. We are from out of town and our insurance would not cover everything they helped us out with arrangements! Great hospital, great and friendly staff.
I was very impressed with the level of care I received.
I was assisted by Tia Miller. Mrs. Miller was so helpful and her willingness to provide registration information made my check-in process so much easier.
My imagining service was conducted by Lisa Lister. Mrs. Lister was a joy! My process was pain free Thanks again for your care during the imagining exam!
Cassi and PA Marcus were excellent while doing my mylogram on my back. I had an anxiety attack and boy did they help me calm myself. The nurses and transport gentleman were just as nice. Thank you for your service.
Was fast and efficient. Receptionist and technician were both professional and helpful.
Great staff and a very good facility! Could not have had a better experience. Everyone was very compassionate and took great care of me.
This was my first time getting tested for Covid-19. I had many questions but mostly I was nervous. I saw Dr. Ali Kamran, he was caring, thoughtful and put me at complete ease. Couldn't recommended him highly enough.
My husband went to the ER then was admitted. Staff was very friendly. They all did a great job. The doctor went out of his way to fix other problems we didn't even go there for
My mother is still sitting in the waiting room of the ER waiting to be seen. She has been there since approximately 4:15 pm. She was complaining of chest and breathing problems she thought could be caused by gas. She has a pacemaker but they did an EKG and it was good.....duh. they have taken her vitals all supposedly good as well...they have done a urine sample....and drew blood and did a chest xray. All of this happened within the first hour and a half , She is now waiting on a room or for someone to at least tell her something .....I mean really. I understand that they are busy ..... But perhaps they need to start diverting patients to the other major hospital ER if they can't manage to see patients who have been waiting for HOURS!!!!!
EXCELLENT!!!! Had fallen and had a head injury. Whole visit took only about 30 minutes. Great evaluation, CT scan dismissal. All of staff and doctors were very thorough, compassionate and quick. Thank you for an excellent experience.....
I had a minor outpatient surgery on Wednesday 9/23/20. From the moment I arrived until the minute I left the building, everyone was excellent. All of them made the "not so good" time be as easy as possible. It really makes a difference when you're surrounded by "good people" and I really think I had the best on that day. Thanks Coliseum.
