Hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to! The food is amazing, the service is amazing, the beers and wines and amazing!!
Quality food, quality service, simply superb.
My only go to place to eat now. The owner is excellent at taking care of his customers and colbeh is the only place my friends and I want to meet up at and share food. Today tried the prawns, absolutely amazing The food as a whole is on another level. Thank you colbeh for another great evening.
Good food quality.
Staff have a unfriendly vibe unfortunately.
Very good food and dare I say, better quality food than Taste of Persia (Shiraz)!
Excellent little restaurant. Food was sublime and service charming. Good value.
Pleasantly surprised - would certainly go again - admittedly we went as guests and there were quite a few of us - service was good - atmosphere I guess is what you will create for yourself - I will review when I have eaten of an evening.
I asked for a recommendation and got the Persian hot dog - tasty and a great price.
A truly fantastic meal, loved the flavours of the food and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and cosy.
Best mixed grill in Birmingham! Excellent atmosphere. Halal though alcohol is served there. The dolmeh needs quite some improvement.
It's a warm, lovely and cosy place. We were greeted warmly by the staff. The service was good and the food was delicious with generous portions. We would definately recommend this place.
My Favourite place for Persian food in Birmingham and helpful staff
2nd visit here. First review written on trip advisor on August 2017. This place is warm, friendly and Class!!! What impressed us was that Arsalan remembered us and he even remembered what we ate the first time... now that s what you call attentive, awesome!!!
Food was great and the Daily Special (slow cooked pulled lamb with dill rice), it was worth the gamble and heaven.
We had a really nice time, did not want to leave and the service was just something to remember. We went for my wife s pre birthday meal, no reservation was made, but having a baklava with saffron ice cream and a candle on top was special, lol.
We wish great things for this family business.
Mr & Mrs Mughal.
Very tasty Persian food and good portions. Small cozy place and will surely be back
Excellent food, cheap, effective, and very nice products! Fantastic, will come there back as soon as possible!
Excellent food service and ambiance, portions so mahoosive I even had to ask for a doggy bag. The parking is a bit of a pain the easiest being around the water tower behind the kitchen is the easiest to access. Well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
Great food, friendly staff, I will be back again next time I visit the area
Brilliant food and customer service. Food was well cooked and presented well. When asked about how a certain dish would taste, the waiter did struggle in this regard. However, overall they were very caring and welcoming staff.
Fantastic service and beautiful fresh food. Nice decor in Persian style
The first time It was very good and impressive but Second time disappointed, not happy with food.
Really nice service and traditional home cooked food. Make sure you book in advance.
This place is superb. Moderate to expensive. Recommend the mixed grill for two. Comes on a pitta base with saffron rice. Worth booking. All food cooked fresh to order. Parking off roads nearby. Persisn food similar to Turkish and Lebanese. Lots of salad and humus. Free humus and pitta when seated. NOT recommended for kids. This is a quite romantic restaurant for couples or businessmen. Excellent food and reminds me of the days of the Shah before the Ayatollah when restaurants in Iran served wine and beer after all Shiraz came from Iran! Staff welcoming. Owner greats customers and liaises with chef.
Went for friends leaving party. Awesome food, never had Persian before, was really impressed. Lovely service, beautiful grilled meats and fresh salad. Very reasonably priced. Don't think any of the seven of us managed to finish our mains. #generousportions. #musttry
Amazing food and great service. Make sure to reserve a table
Good food and good service; maybe could do with more beer and wine choices, but a really decent place and good value.
OMG I am so impressed by this restaurant. I went twice and had the same dish. Koobideh minced lamb skewers with half chips and half saffron rice.
The meat was so delicious and the rice was perfect, the chips were normal stake house chips.
My friend had the joojeh, the chicken was very very tendor. Many thanks to the amazing chefs, those dishes were quality.
Love their food, reasonable price and very friendly staff.
Great testing Persian food! Quick lunch menu available.
Beautiful Persian food is served here in this wonderful small restaurant.
I recommend you ask for the dish of the day. All the cold food starters are amazing and I recommend them all especially the mast khiar which is wonderfully made here and is nice to have with your meal.
My personal favourite dish here is 'Kabob Torsh' off the grill. Delicious tender pieces of lamb grilled perfectly and garnished with pomegranate and walnuts served with rice and all the other great Persian touches. Highly recommended.
The only negative about this place is it's quite expensive for the location but the quality and service speaks for itself.
Delightful Persian restaurant on the way into Birmingham city centre. Reasonably priced for the quality provided.
Decent wine list, good choice of starters / mains etc. If you are unfamiliar with any of the dishes, the hosts/waiting staff are more than happy to assist.
Excellent service but book ahead if you have a definite date and time in mind.
Beautifully cooked food and great portions. Highly recommended
extremely high quality food and the best on hagley road
Great food we were given a table without reservation, downside no parking.
As an Iranian I'd like to prove Colbeh is a real Persian taste and flavor food restaurant, with affordable and kind staff.
Very nice place, best manger ever, the staff are friendly, Quality and tasty food, Very generous portion sizes. Good Value for money. best Persian restaurant in Birmingham and maybe in UK, Highly recommended. I come from Leicester every week to eat in this lovely restaurant.
I drove all the way from London to Birmingham. Honestly it was worth traveling. I was really impressed by the tender n juicy bbq platter. Wings were great, although a bit small place but tables and food presentation is .
Amazing food, you have to try it to fully understand what I mean but nobody puts so much effort into freshly cooked food nowadays! Great service too, really recommend
This Iranian restaurant is one of the best one in Birmingham, I have visited and checked others but believe Kolbeh is best. Foods quality and prices are acceptable, foods menus almost complete, I recommend everyone.
Great food every single time and friendly staff, Well done guys
Highly recommended,
The decor and ambience was ambient and calm. The food was very satisfying, and the waiters were attentive and accommodating.
The 3 of us went for dessert, and we waited for a table and finally got one and then waited for our order to be taken only to be told we are not eligible for the order !.
We felt humiliated and left
None of us will be back understandably..
The best Persian restaurant in Birmingham. The foods are of very good quality and delicious. Very nice traditional decoration. Staffs are friendly. I have tried Koobideh kebab and Joojeh kebab (chicken) with rice, and Doogh as a drink. The food was served with a hot and fresh bread and some vegatables. I highly recommend this place if you would like to try Persian foods.
Great restaurant. The portion sizes are huge... but nothing gets left on your plate as the food is on point!
We were for mother's day lovely food servid with smile by beautiful girls
Delicious food and very friendly service. I hope they extend the seating area though.
Amazing food, great service and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again. Not sure which restaurant Mr Mann went to but it s definitely not the one we dined at. Authentic Iranian food.
Amazing, great food quality, very tasty and price is very good
Really recommended. Torsh Kabab 10/10. Combine with doogh to drink; and baklava for dessert. Koobideh also great.
Definitely worth trying - Good Food, Nice and Friendly Staff and Atmosphere.
I have tried a few dishes till now like Colbeh Special, Polo Mahiche
Kabab Torsh and few appetizers like Halim Bademjan, Kashke Bademjan, Mirza Ghassemi and among those my favorite combination is starting with Dough for drink and Kashke Bademjan and Barbari Naan bread for appetizer, following by Kabab Torsh and Mast Mosir and finishing by Baklava and tea.
Hope it helps.
Our favourite Persian restaurant, great service and fantastic portions. Highly recommend the mixed grill
Great customer service fresh food.. best Persian food in the area. Meat is succulent and their Persian tea is a must.
Very tasty traditional Persian restaurant, massive portions with lots of choice of sides to vary it up.
Welcoming and friendly staff and incredibly tasty food.
Large portions, friendly welcoming staff, amazing art and atmosphere. will definitely be returning, especially for the stuffed bay leaves.
Nice cosy restaurant - parking on side road, food was lovely - would defo recommend. Good service
Best persian cuisine in Birmingham, highly recommended.
Friendly staff, great food. Absolute stupendous confectionary
A really good meal, wonderfully cooked and presented. Overall a comfortable experience with a different cuisine from the norm.
Love this place. Romantic, quiet and very good food
Just been to Birmingham to see my step son who s at the uni and decided to check Colbeh and I must say it scored 10 out of 10 on all accounts. From the friendly service and ambiance to the totally delicious grub! We tried 3 different dishes and each one was better than the other and the ice-cream baklava at the end was just divine! Best Persian food I ve ever experienced in Birmingham. Our complements to the chef and all the staff.
Friendly, attentive staff, excellent food, nice atmosphere. The restaurant is fully licensed. Portions are enormous!
Very nice food, good atmosphere and very polite staff.
I love the food so much and the customer service was excellent
Excellent. A must attend if you like grilled meats and excellent friendly service. A must go.
HIDDEN GEM!
I was a little nervous having never tried Persian food before and due to the location but this place was amazing.
The venue is small maybe 4-5 sets of different sized tables on each side, we had to book and there was only a choice of 1 time for each day remaining (for me that was a good sign).
Lovely atmosphere not too loud, no blaring music.
To start we ordered hummus which comes with this delicious sesame seed naan (not pictured because we were too hungry!) And they gave a bowl of delicious balsamic and pomegranate olives for the table.
We had 2 colbeh specials which is two types of lamb skewers and saffron chicken. We got this with chips (comes with the meal).
We also ordered a side salad which looks delicious! We didn't get to try it because we were too full so they let us take it home! (Lunch pending!!!)
We had a bottle of Peroni and a glass of wine.
Just ordered a food from them by deliveroo.. the worst order I had... received mostly burned and black food.... the don't care.... avoid them
Seriously why didn't I hear about this place before? I thought restaurant Teheran in Paris was the best Iranian I'd had but this place is even better.
Their key edge is the authenticity. The family themselves cook the food which is flavour filled, authentic AND imaginative. Not things I'd ever thought I'd say about Iranian food. But here it's the truth.
Great seasonal produce, childhood favorites and an effort to be the very best all lend to an ambience filled with meaning and nostalgia. And in Birmingham!!?
The owner Arsalan was supremely gracious and a great host.
I literally couldn't recommend this place any more. On top of all that, the prices are reasonable. You can't ask for more. You won't regret it.
Very nice restaurant and excellent food. We went for the sharing platter so we can try abit of everything and was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. For the standard of the food the prices are good. Service was exceptional, very tentative and quick. Would definitely come back again and well earned 5 stars
The food is AMAZING such a small restaurant but left a huge impact, we had the sharing platter and the food is plenty and for the price too, you cannot go wrong, I ve been back 3 or 4 times now and it s consistent!
Really good. Always come here for a quick bite, some tea or a big meal. Good tea, good service and great lamb.
Nice place, helpful staff, and they serve the best Persian food I ve ever eaten
Very glad we tried this place. Very good unusual food with excellent service. Decor nice and individual.
