Clubsportive Review

The healthy lifestyle conveyed by the gym through its ambience and services makes one increasingly inclined to pursue a positive lifestyle. Asides from missing a classic cable row I wouldnt imagine this gym misses anything out in the fitness spectrum.

Very nice gym with many different lessons, beautiful new fitness equipment and a swimming pool. Extensive opening times and friendly staff. Pricey but there are regular offers.

Very customer-unfriendly. Clubsportive has sent payment reminders (from the last month after cancellation) to a wrong e-mail address. The payment had gone wrong due to a spelling mistake in the name of the account number. Subsequently, four weeks later, clubsportive outsourced the claim to a bailiff and handed them the same wrong mail. Eventually I was called by the bailiff that a high bill was open (amount owed + bailiff's fees and statutory interest). I paid the amount and then contacted clubportive. I have shown all of this in the person who makes the payments at clubsportive, but they refuse to accommodate. The attitude of the person who corresponded with me about this was very customer-unfriendly.

Good gym, with swimming pool and good vibe. You notice that they are trying to earn extra money on all sides. The swimming pool is closed a few evenings a week for 'normal' members, who already pay a premium, because there are private swimming lessons for other people. Unfortunately.

The 1 star is for its nice equipment and sauna, however the management of the gym is just disgusting. During Corona outbreak they were completely closed, after consulting my legal advisor I knew that as consumers we had the right to reject any other offerings from gyms and get our full refund back during the time when it's closed.

However what they did was to send out an email giving us a 4-day notice to choose to continue with the service with a full price, a cheaper price or to cancel the subscription. The so-called 4-day "deadline" is completely unreasonable and invalid according to my legal advisor. Once we missed the so-called "deadline", they charged us with its very expensive full-price service (without offering any service during COVID 19). I complained to them a few times that it was illegal that they did so and requested refund, they insisted to charge me. I had no choice but performed a chargeback using my bank, they then chased after me, threatening me that if i don't pay for the service that they didn't even provide me, then they will increase the bill by 40 euros. Now i'm still going through the legal way to request them to stop scamming me with its invalid invoice. Total waste of my time and energy.

Greedy, sneaky and nasty.

Follow-up: after I sent them a legal letter to claim my right of not having to pay the service that was not offered, they immediately stopped sending me invoice and scam. I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY. It was my right and they knew it all the way. If people are willing to support you during difficult times, it s their choice. You never should force them. It s not legal.

It s a good gym in the neighborhood, affordable (they offer ton of discounts to nearby residents and people who work in the vicinity - just do t forget to ask about it)

I go in the morning between 10 and 12pm. It s empty then.

I hate woman s locker room. It stinks there of a bad plumbing. And I dislike that I can not control water temperature, water is too cold.

Shampoos and Conditioner are frequently unchecked and empty.

They offer classes that you can sign up for on their app.

Great trainers at service! I love the group classes.

Company promote age discrimination, providing a free training but only for women between 22 and 34.
People are not pedigree. Gym should be ashamed.

We joined this gym for it's steam room, sauna, and pool.

Not visiting as regular as I should but it is an amazing gym with excellent facilities.

I must say I am really liked the gym until now. However, as covid started, the gym asked for support and for people to keep paying the subscription fee, to keep the establishment afloat, in return to provide a 99 euro goodie bag when it reopens. Once it did, the goodie bag turned out to be an empty soft sports bag worth maybe 20 bucks, full of printed fliers. I feel scammed and deeply saddened after something more than two years of being a member.

Absolute the best gym in Amsterdam! I have seen so many gyms and this one is the best out of all! It's super clean, new machines, great instructors, friendly staff and a great spa/swimming pool area. What els do you need?

Yoga classes are made for 18 ppl in a tiny room where when its more then 12 ppl in it becomes very uncomfortable :(

Swimming pool is freezing, many members agree and management doesn't want to do anything about it despite many complaints and suggestions. Club is so dark, like a cave, everything is painted black trying to emulate a fighting gym, most members want natural light and organic feel.

Very big and fancy gym, with lots of choice in lessons and good modern equipment.

Nice modern gym and equipment is all new Technogym. Friendly staff for the most part. It is a bit pricey and at those prices having to pay extra for towel service is not so nice considering Gustav Gym just down the road provides it for free at a lower price point.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Facilities constantly improving (just recently a water bottle top up sink was installed)
Almost never have to wait to use equipment. The atmosphere in the gym is very nice and really helps to go often. After a hard workout I always reward myself in the spa area.

Positive : well equipped gym with a variety of group classes, experienced, helpful trainers and staff. Bonus in house workshops, health consultations organised where you can join for free.
Negative: one needs to follow up regularly to get free consultation or training sessions or diet consultations.

All in all a very good gym with a swimming pool.

Forgot my shorts and wasn t allowed to work out in my underwear m, told this is a serious club etc. After several minutes of arguing about it, I changed back into my jeans, and did some cardio in those. Jeans not good for rowing etc.

Clean and luxurious gym with everything you need to relax. The devices are ergonomic and modern. As a result, no exercise feels annoying.
The sauna and swimming pool are wonderful.

The gym itself is nice and good trainer but during corona they asked for support. I was happy to provide Support to their business.
Now that they are open again it is a continuous trying to charge us. The contract includes towel service that is no longer provided and they cannot wait to sell you the towels.
I feel they forgot easily of the support received and squeezed as a customer . You should reduce the price if you don t provide a towel service. If we forget it one time, allow us to take it and not kick us out unless we buy one. I feel scammed and I don t feel they care at all about us. Why should we support them then?

Lile this place. It has pretty much everything: weights, training stations, machines, classes, swimming pool, etc. and most of these are still of a good quality

It s a good gym. I ve been using it for a year, but sometimes it is overcrowded and showers continuously malfunction.

Best gym I've ever been to. Friendly and helpful staff, new equipment and no waiting times (I do avoid 5-7pm). Pool and sauna are also great!

Do not join here! While this gym has modern equipment the times I went here it got really cramped. This wasn't the worst of it though. I signed up for a six month membership prior to having a Dutch bank account paying cash for the first portion of a month. A week later I was called and told I couldn't be a member without a Dutch bank account, those were "the rules". While moving shortly afterward apparently 7 months later they referred me to a collection account who after holding a court procedure without my knowledge tried charging me twice what the membership was ( 1200). I contacted the gym almost a dozen times asking for help and while they acknowledged what happened wouldn't lift a finger to help. Completely unethical company, do you really want to worry about how else they will take advantage of you?

I went to Club Sportive for 2 years and recently decided to cancel my subscription as I saw it decline per month. It used to be clean and not too busy but that did change a lot. If you lay down a serious amount of money (for a gym) per month, you expect something in return. Unfortunately it was lacking a lot!

Positive point are:
- The equipment, all top notch;
- The staff/instructors! All nice persons and good instructors as well! This is the thing I knew I was going to miss a lot!

But unfortunately the instructors can not make up for what is lacking in management:

- Spa area sometimes smelled horrible;
- Steam bath was out of order (or just turned off?) regularly;
- showers did not have constant warm water and sometimes even complete outage of water;
- A lot of the people going to this gym are colleagues that feel the urge to keep talking (or calling) about their jobs in the dressing room or sauna. I do understand the urge, but for me it is a moment of not thinking about work;
- Too busy, especially Monday/Tuesday! They decided to expand the man dressing room by taking of a part of the gym floor!

I also noticed that the friendliness got less and less and also had some small arguments when asking friendly if I could use a jumpbox, because a backpack was laying on it. And also in the sauna because I asked if it could be quiet as it is a general rule. The reply was silence did not mean the same thing as being quite ...

I know that a lot of the people going to this gym get a good discount from the company they work for, which makes it okay I guess, but I would still suggest/consider another gym anyway.

Very busy, no towels provided, overpriced. Compared to some of the best sports clubs I have seen in the US and UK, this is a very basic gym for a price of a luxurious sports club.

Best staff and equipment I have ever encountered, and I have seen a lot of gyms. Of some machines they only have one, where it would make more sense that they would have two, because of the popularity of that machine. My favorite gym at the moment.

I love the studio itself. 1 star is to bring the attention of the management that it s NOT OK not to provide towel service at all when it s included into the price. Moreover, now when the service is back, they write that you re only allowed to take 1 towel and to bring an extra one by yourself (obviously, one for the studio, one for the shower). They write it s to save the planet . How do you save the planet if I anyways bring my own towel that obviously I ll wash as well? Clearly just trying to save money on the clients costs. Such things are unbelievable in a studio where you pay 120 Euro per month.

I love this gym! For the first time I actually am looking forward to my workout. Facility is clean, staff is very friendly and they have a wide variety of group classes. It is easy to cancel/ reschedule ( at no cost) if I can not make it to a class. Free towels are also available. Oh... and it smells always really nice . The only thing that could use some work is the staff at the juice bar... it takes quite a long time to get a smoothie... other than that... they make my day!

Neat, clean and not too expensive. All-in price for all trainings - boxing and kickboxing, condition/crossfit, yoga. And a swimming pool - just two lanes but 25 meter long. Recommended for everyone who spend their days in one of Zuidas' skyscrapers.

Terrible management, they asked for support during lockdown when the gym was 100% closed. Many like me did. Now they provide half of the services charging the same price (120 a month) and offering 79 to new members who did not support the, during the pandemic. What a terrible behavior, I am disgusted. They are making it impossible to cancel as well (sneaky).I most definitely will not support the, during the virus again. Be careful before signing, they are sneaky and just trying to squeeze you with no respect nor gratitude.
Not their fault that some services are not available but if they offer 79 to new member they should have the decency to do the same to existing ones that supported them. The law states that if services are not maintained as per contract customer should receive compensation. They are even avoiding cancellation request.

Great gym! All the latest gear as well as gymnastics equipment and good classes. Could do with some extra barbells and doors on showers.

A great gym, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. One of the classiest gyms in the Amsterdam area. A wide range of group classes from yoga to boot camp is offered, with very knowledgeable trainers. I love this gym, and highly recommend it for all it offers ( swimming pool, sauna, steambath, yoga studio, mindfulness classes, etc ).

Nothing special really. Not enough barbells. Spa area deteriorated after the face lift. Extremely crowded in the evening. Mess with automatic locks in change rooms.

I have been member of this gym for more than a year but I am cancelling my subscription because of gradual decrease in its offerings. Here is a brief list of my reasons:

1. Got over crowded and not with the best crowd. Suddenly so many 20-something male fellas appeared as small groups. Some of them really like to be noisy, wear tank tops and jump into the pool after sauna without getting a shower.

2. There is nothing high tech about the machines. You will have the feeling of 56kbps modem when you try to watch youtube on the screens of the treadmill if you are lucky. Most of the time, youtube will not work at all. You have to use your phone/watch if you want to time anything since the only clock you will see in that gym is the analog one hanging on the wall, probably given as a gift by the local bakery in Christmas.

3. They close down the parts of the gym before the actual closing time of 23:00.

4. The staff has changed and they are not as friendly as the previous ones.

5. The steam batch is really lame: bad quality, tiny and smelly.

Overall, it is still better than most gyms but not good enough for the premium price it asks. Pity to see how a good business slowly degraded from good to mediocre over time by failing to renew itself. Considering almost all emails from them focus on selling additional stuff to their subscribers rather than asking them how to improve, this result is no surprise.
