Appalling services and horrible system. Every time I attend they give me reasons to complain about. The most recent one was the last straw. They allocate 3 minutes per patient and because of morning traffic I was a bit late and they refused to see me. And I had acute shoulder pains from a fall while skiing. This is not something that human beings do. We will be looking for another practice.

Amazing service from Dr Emily Donnovan, was seriously concerned about a symptom that I had come across. Dr. had taken her time in establishing the circs and did not at all feel rushed (which is how I felt in the past). Following relevant hospital tests, I did not have to chase up for any results the Dr had contacted me from time to time to update me with the results. Excellent service!!! wish all patients are treated like that!! thank you!

My mother was recently referred to the new social prescribing clinic at the practice for help with social isolation and keeping healthy/ fit. I live a long way away and don't get to see my mother on a regular basis and it is always concerning to me that she isn't doing as much since my dad passed away.
The social prescribing team have been brilliant at helping her with a local befriending service and she is now getting out doing things she hasn't done in years. I am so grateful to this service.

Been with this surgery for 19 years. Avoid and go somewhere else if you can. Changed many gps over the years and never been a good experience. Only reason I stayed so long is because life took over with little kids and job etc. Basics like making an appointment is a nightmare and will be kept on the phone for a min of 20 mins, sometimes been 40 mind. Even with their new improved systems which claims to answer all calls within 4 mins, just today my husband was waiting in a queue for 20 mins.
Overall I am not sure I have anything good to say, except they see children asap, but you still have to wait 30 mins on the phone for a human to speak with you.

I had one good experience with one doctor at this practice. I was then scheduled to make a follow up appointment with this same doctor, and when calling to make the appointment I was told that this doctor no longer worked at the practice. A bit shocked, I agreed to have an appointment with a different doctor. I then went to the doctors today with a friend, and saw the doctor I originally wanted to see, working. The receptionist out front told me that the doctor works one day a week until they leave, which obviously infuriated me because I could have been seen by the doctor I wanted to help me with my ongoing issue. So I missed out on a worthwhile doctors appointment because of the false information i had been given. Won't be coming back.

No specific treatment or diagnosis received at any of the 3 appointments i had in the past 2 years (i was told at all visits to wait and see )z Not to mention it takes 2-3 weeks to book an appointment. Very confused where the thousands of pounds i pay for the NHS go.

Spoke to the Care Navigation Team this, was somewhat sceptical as to the new name for a receptionist but, very pleasantly surprised as was asked a brief idea of what was wrong and then offered an appointment for later in the morning!

I have been a patient of this practice, with a brief break, since 1955, when I was 13. Now aged 77, with a very chequered medical history, I can say I have never had a bad experience. I am the secretary to the Patient Participation Group so I can also see the enormous challenges faced by clinical staff and admin alike every day. I can also see how very much they all care about each individual patient. I'm confident that they will continue looking after me in my extreme old age [if I am lucky enough to get there]. I think we are lucky to have them.

This is actuall half a star for shocking lack of practise!
I have recently had bypass surgery in Oxford i called today as i felt simething wasnt right they advised i saw a Dr TODAY. I rang and had to go through every detail with the receptionist to be told no Drs were avalible and had to have a call back! This is general practise with this surgery having to have a call back or no appointments avalible for 3weeks! Dr Lambert did call beack (thanks very much) he also agreed i needed to be seen so set the appointment up for15.50. By 16.10 i asked staff if id been missed ir forgotten?? No the Dr is busy with the patient before you!! But if im late i have to re-book right and an appointment is only 10 mins per patient and to disscus 1 problem right?? ...well just take a seat and wait!! So i did so by 16.40 i made the disition to approch the receptionist and tell her to cancel i need to be at home and comfy under the circumstances. So now im sat at home unseen.. no sorry can we re-book something so im now sat at home wondering....is there a problem with me...who knows...whats a patient to do?? Things have not changed only for the worst and its very sad that i have been with this practise all my life to now have to think i need to move to a different practise!! Friarsgate you are letting the patients down but time wasters are right up there!

I have been going to the Friarsgate practice for over twenty years (starting originally when they were in the centre of Winchester). I have nothing but positive things to say. Originally seen by Dr Mann, and then by his successor Dr Salvaratnam. Always prepared to take time to listen to any issues and extremely helpful all the time. During these exceptional times of Covid, the practice has run a service of triaging the patients which I have found very useful. The reception staff have always been very helpful and accommodating.

Care navigator or whatever you call them speak to you in such a terrible manner when your asking them a simple question politely always spoken to harshly by them it puts me off wanting to phone the surgery.Working in a similar front facing job treating patients with a bit more compassion would go along way nothing will change here left me to deal with a miscarriage on my own a while back with no apology nothing if there was an alternative surgery I'd use it but after todays attitude a review is needed wouldnt go to this surgery unless you like being spoken to like dirt on a shoe.

Doctors here are ok - some great, some less so. The management and organisation is appalling. If I had the energy and time to fight the NHS systems, or if I was a regular, I'd definitely go elsewhere.

This is the worst doctors surgery I have attended ...

This is the worst doctors surgery I have attended throughout the world. There are too many instances to indivually complain about but the terrible attitude of the receptionists is a big one. Also the apparent lack of care from some of the nurses and doctors. Dr. Wright was nice but apart from that I wouldn't step foot in there again. For two years my life has gone from being an athlete to being almost housebound because of an illness still unknown to them. If I could give zero stars I would do.

Absolutely discusted with the lack of care. Called up 3 times with a concern and the receptionist was very dismissive and had quite a harsh tone. That was not where the problem ended, the bad tone and carelessness from Dr Meredeth was unsettling and i now feel like i can not turn to this place for help.
Well done team, lets hope i dont end up in a worse condition! Thank you for making me feel alone with my problem and not listened to. This is also not the first time i have experienced this and from the same people.
Most of the team in this place lack compassion and it is a shame because there are 2 doctors that are actually good at their jobs. The rest of you could learn a thing or two about how to care for people and make them feel cared for as that is in fact your job!

Atrocious, soulless practice.

Atrocious, soulless practice.
First contact: reception. You face a hideous muddle of phone options, after waiting in a queue of other calls; this adds to the stress of feeling ill, or the need for a doctor's advice.
Too many part-time doctors, meaning one's 'own' doctor (arbitrarily allocated) is quite likely to be unavailable. This leads back to a chase through possible contacts via the phone system, to access an alternative, appropriate source of help. I have seen the doctor allocated to me, only twice since registering, and since I suffer a series of disabling, chronic disorders find myself explaining complex situations repeatedly to faceless voices.
Cheerless environment, very barrack-like. Just what a medical service should NOT be like. Steer clear.

Thank you so much the Friarsgate Practice.

Thank you so much the Friarsgate Practice.
I spoke with a Care Navigator at 9:35 and by 10am had had a call back from a nurse. I got great advice and was told exactly what I needed to if I didn't feel better. Really reassuring that you can get advice so quickly when your worried.

Considering the constraints of the NHS, Friarsgate...

Considering the constraints of the NHS, Friarsgate has always performed well for our family during the 8 years we ve been registered here. You might not be able to see your own GP immediately (or even in several days perhaps), but we have always been able to see a GP within a day or two, and the care has always been professionally delivered. If we really need to speak to our GP urgently, then it is normally possible by phone on the same day. The surgery in Weeke is modern, comfortable and clean, and the reception staff are welcoming (if sometimes a bit overburdened). Compared with friends and other family members experiences from surgeries elsewhere in the country, we consider ourselves fortunate to receive the care that we do.

Absolute joke of a surgery since turning into a CCG. The doctors only care about one thing and that is the commercial side of the business.

Been waiting over 3 weeks for a referral to get a double break in my wrist looked at and a PT plan put in place.

Every time I have ever used this place the result has always been the same, go sort it out myself whether that is doing the research online or going getting sorted privately.
