They have amazing and unique burgers! If you're hungry this is the place to be!
Food was great, atmosphere was fun, servers were friendly. Highly recommend!
We have eaten here many times over the years. The burgers are still the best in town, but the service has gotten really bothersome. Tonight we waited 10 minutes at our table just to get waters and menus. The servers all looked harried and annoyed. This has happened before. I don't think they staff enough for the volume they do.
Was excited to finally go to Clocked, told the wait was 20 minutes to sit outside. Afterwards told that the kitchen was backed up and they weren't able to sit anyone but it would be just a few more minutes. 20 minutes go by and I had to go back in and got the same response. We left. A little concerned that a place that serves burgers and sandwiches in a not very big place could get backed up. Food looked and smelled good may be awile before Ill be back to taste.
Cool themed restaurant with a menu for a variety of diets (super good vegan options, btw!). Drink menu offers a pretty decent amount of cocktails and drafts, though I'm uncertain if they offer a happy hour of any kind. Service is always great with friendly and attentive staff. They have a surcharge for any card payments to help cover fees for their small business, so cash is preferred. Sitting inside will feel a little claustrophobic during their rushes, so grab a seat outside in their beautiful patio area if weather permits. Definitely recommend, as they have something for just about everyone!
Remains the best burger in Athens since the first night I arrived nearly 8 years ago
I had a delicious house salad with chicken and Russian dressing. It was fresh, delicious, and our server was really nice. Great burgers, salad, milkshakes, when in Athens, Ga it's definitely on the list of fresh, organic, tasty places to enjoy a meal!
Great food! I had the black bean burger and my mom had the vegetarian Reuben. We had sweet potato fries and the veggie fries (flash fried carrots, green beans and asparagus)
The service wasn't amazing - just the staff that we interacted with was awkward and quiet. They were nice but still weird.
Amazing burgers. Best service. Breath-taking Restaurant. If you haven't been here yet, your missing out.
The burgers are always amazing, the fries are absolutely killer, and I'm a huge fan of the brownies.
Always Dee-licious!
and Ultraman on TV ...
We eat here 2 or 3 times a year when passing through Athens. Great atmosphere, good service and exceptional burgers. I really like the BlackBerry and bacon burger. Try the milk shakes.
Good hamburgers. Cool layout too, they have posters of old movies on the walls.
My siblings and I all enjoyed out burgers in the outdoor seating area. The menu has such a variety of burger options to choose from. It really encourages me to try something different every time. The burgers are juicy and full of flavor, and the toppings--from onions and peppers to chili and bleu cheese--only add to that flavor. I haven't had a problem with the service.
The atmosphere in here is really great. Looks and smells like a little diner from long ago, but isn t like heavy handed in vintage decor or trying hard to perform that diner look.
The three stars is because the drink mixes aren t good they taste cheap. The food is okay, but just generally greasy, basic food. I think sometimes greasy, basic food is really good, but I wouldn t say it s food I d go out of my way to eat. They have more interesting spins on classics and veggie options, but nothing I have ever gotten has been very good.
They are great at accommodating a gluten and dairy allergy. I had the most delicious hamburger with bacon on a gigantic gluten free toasted bun. I haven't been able to eat a burger at a restaurant in forever!
Great food. Yes, I got the Peanut Butter & Bacon Burger!
Clocked was very good. Definitely in the top 3 list for best burger in athens. The staff was friendly and attentive. I had the BlackBerry bacon jam burger, I was afraid it would be too sweet but the tartness of the berry mixed well with the savory of the bacon and beef. Everything on there menu is unique. They also have vegetarian options and a couple other sandwiches aside from burgers.
Food was good. But it seemed like they needed more servers.
Best burgers AND onion rings in Athens! Hands down! I've never really liked onion rings, but could eat a bucket full of theirs! They are always super busy when we visit, but usually get seated promptly by friendly staff. Awesome seasonal specials and malts as well.
Poorly prepared. Meat over cooked. Food came out cold. Expect more for 80 worth of hamburgers.
Really good burger maybe the best burger I ve ever had
Burgers were really yummy and had a gluten free bun option which as great! The environment is fun and there's lots of people there.
Great Food ! We ordered a Patty Melt, that day's special Pimento Cheese Burger and Tots all around :)
Patty Melts can be greasy, but mine was not - juicy, full of flavor and served on beautiful, swirly marbled Rye - The Staff was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back :)
They have about the best tasting burgers I've ever tried!
I was kinda floored by the value here! Had a stupid good black bean burger with a pimento cheese add-on and it was all $7.50. It s a small diner with less than 10 tables and a bar; the most like a diner of any diner I ve ever been in.
The place was highly recommended to me as the best burger joint in Athens and I was not disappointed.
Waited fifteen minutes at my seat without being offered a glass of water, a menu, or even eye contact. What am I, invisible? The restaurant was not even that busy.
Left without ordering, or even being acknowledged by any of the staff.
Excellent burgers and service with a unique nostalgic classic sci fi theme... There is no local joint like it
I've been going to Clocked for years and it is still one of my favorite places to get a burger. Clocked has a strange theme, but the food is fantastic. I can't say enough about how good the burgers are, and they're made with grass-fed beef if you're into all that hippie stuff. They have some very eccentric items on the menu like a peanut butter and bacon burger, among others. Overall, one of my top 5 restaurants in Athens.
Best burger joint in Athens. Lots of options, all of which are delicious. Staff are attentive and friendly.
BEST DINER FOOD EVER. We had the vegan hot dog, grilled cheese with mushrooms, tater tots, and a mocha malt milkshake. All were delicious. I m not usually a huge fan of milkshakes because they re often quite bland and milky. The mocha milkshake with malt added was definitely the best milkshake I ve ever tasted. It was rich, sweet and creamy but had a dark chocolate and strong espresso flavor. We enjoyed our food so much we ate there our second night in Athens too (we were there for just two nights). 10/10 would recommend
Was not impressed. High ratings led us here. But the burger was not great. And very expensive.
Perhaps my new favorite place to eat. Charming and comfortable small restaurant with bar (both physical and in serving alcohol) with interesting burgers and wonderful milkshakes.
Great burgers and shakes. They offer gluten-free buns and vegetarian options as well. The veggie burger is quite good, but jot as good as their beef patties. Great house made shakes.
This was my first time eating at Clocked. I ordered over the phone and she was very pleasant and helpful. The burgers(yum) were hot and waiting for me when I got there. This is my new favorite burger place and Godzilla doesnt hurt either!
Great food in a fun dinner feel. They always have a vintage sci-fi movie playing on the TV inside. The outdoor seating is nice and usually has shade depending on the time of day. I love their veggie options, I don't get veggie hot dogs very often! Also serves Michigan beers because the owner was from MI. One of my favorite spots downtown.
Amazing food and fast service and a super cool place to eat recommended if you're downtown.
Tiny but quaint and lively restaurant. Food was great. We all got something different (6 of us), and not a single complaint. I had the spinach salad with tuna steak added. Friends had a variety of things including the peanut butter bacon burger. Next time I want to try the ring of fire burger (bowl style which is on lettuce)
It was OK. Took forever to get our food. Felt pretty much ignored. Some of what we ordered took so long we chose to leave rather than wait.
Fun atmosphere
Outside pet friendly seating
Best burger menu
My wife and I stopped at this place to eat. I thought I would like a vegan burger after eating at the "Slutty Vegan" in Atlanta, I thought all vegan burgers were the same. NO! The reuben was MUCH. Onion rings wayyy to greasy. The milkshake was simply chocolate milk.
Ordered a Greek salad and pita chips with hummus. The Greek salad was good but needed more greens and less extras, hummus was delicious. Good service, waitress kept our drinks fresh and made sure we had everything we needed.
Waited 30 minutes for a table. Sat down and waited another 15 or so to get our food order in. I watched our table of six eat all their food, five sandwiches, and never got the bowl of chili I ordered. When the server came out she asked what I ordered and tried to deflect blame to the fry cook but that obviously wasn t their fault since soup is generally sitting in a warmer all day. When I said I no longer wanted my soup the server became irritated and asked the manager to speak to me. The manager proceeded to get angry with me and tell me my food was already prepared and if I just waited I would get it for free. I didn t want anything for free, I just didn t want to wait an hour for soup. She then told me I hadn t waited an hour as she saw I only ordered it a half hour ago. I ve never felt so bombarded by such an incompetent staff. This place is a joke. I appreciate they hand spin their milkshakes though that is super cool
Amazing food - the best burgers I've found in Georgia! It's pretty small though, so expect a wait of about 15-30 minutes when you go! Typically longer on the weekend, but if you plan ahead, it is so worth it!
Never in my life have I walked into a non-busy, non-full restaurant with no line, and been asked to wait OUTSIDE until the rest of our party arrives, so as not to "crowd the space". Food was amazing though. Just come with your whole party or the hostess will make you feel like you are trespassing.
If you're in the mood for burgers in Athens, THIS IS THE PLACE. Burger patties are delicious, and sized appropriately, on the larger size. Buns are always fresh, and the fries are the perfection of golden brown slightly cripsy-ness. They're veggie burger is one of the best ive EVER had.
Their hand-spun milkshakes are always so so good, I often just stop by one to grab one on the go.
MUST try their jalapeno ketchup. Staff is always friendly smiling wonderful people.
Seating can be a bit cramped inside, so if the weather is even relatively nice, go for outside seating.
Savannah was a fantastic waitress!! Also best Brownie Sunday I ve ever had, highly recommend.
Exceptional place! Loved their burgers and the feel of the place. When I return to Athens, this will be a must to go to.
Food was really flavorful. Service was slow. In fairness, it was very crowded. My friend's soup had a hair in it.
Great burger. Love the tots and the side salad is a nice surprise.
Burgers we tried here were very decent. I had the jam/jelly burger, very intresting and apparently a very popular choice, however the tasting of this burger was not for my personal pallet. I still recommend it though!! Didn't too much care for the cramped environment of this place, but the food will bring me for another visit!
Fantastic burgers and tots for the price! Try the peanut butter bacon burger.
One of the best burgers I have ever had. Simple, fresh beef, nice bun, amazing secret sauce. All burgers should be just like this one. And it's $6.50. Damn!
We were seated quickly, and then ignored. No drinks, no food, no communication whatsoever. They seemed a little busy, like the end of the dinner rush, but they could have at least said hi.
Usually very good must have been an off night.. sandwich was not as discribed on menu nothing done to correct or offer something else.
The experience was disappointing for it being our first time here. The food today did not taste fresh and the kids, who love eating burgers, did not enjoy what was served from the kitchen.
If you're looking for a hip burger, this is the place. I honestly had no clue about this place until we just stumbled in. Every time I go to a new burger place, I am usually comparing it to H&F burger in Atlanta and am usually disappointed. Clocked is a pretty close contender.
The burgers here are flat and crispy perfection. The buns are actually from the H&F bakery. The toppings range from standard to slightly unconventional (peanut butter). Overall, a pretty solid selection. They even have a couple of vegan options.
The other thing that makes Clocked special is their preference for using more natural ingredients. Their preference for natural ingredients really makes the burger stand out. And honestly, you aren't paying a real premium for the experience (~$11 for a full meal).
- Suggestions on menu -
I would recommend sticking with the burgers. While the frankfurters sound nice, the real star of the show is the burger. Clocked really offers a lot of choice on the menu but I would recommended staying simple with the toppings. Less is more here.
Overall, perfect for a nice lunch or casual date. Hip but not exactly hipster. The embodiment of the Athens spirit in a restaurant.
Consistently bad service. The food isn't good enough to make up for the bad experience. I'll
go to Steak and Shake next time.
Down town so parking might be hard to get but the actual restaurant offers nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.
Excellent burgers and very friendly, prompt service.
Great place for burgers, fries and shakes. As they say " retro " for those of us who like the past made better!
