Cliffbreakers Review

Overpriced hotel haven't seen an old school zenith tv in forever. This place is so in need of a remodel! Won't stay here again.

We had a great experience, very comfortable, clean and the staff was awesome! Thanks from all ways!!!!

We were at Cliffbreakers for a dinner my employer has every year. There were 825 people that showed up to discover the AIR CONDITIONING wasn't working ! It was horribly hot and everyone was sweating profusely. They never got the air fixed !

When the meals were served, the servers were clueless, they would serve 2 people at a table of 10 and then wait 10 minutes to serve the remaining 8.It was a horrible dinning experience. Cliffbreakers gets an a grade of F-

Terrible hotel. The hot water run cold after 10 minutes. The toilet did not flush.

Nice conference rooms with new carpet, paint, light fixtures, etc...

No air or pool because of construction. Ripped screen and smell.

This hotel should be shut down! Wall paper hanging off the walls and large water stains on all the ceilings!! No food at the free breakfast, cold coffee and no juice:( if I could give them 0 stars or less, I would!

Came here after a long and weary day of traveling and the clerk was nowhere to be found. After shouting their name a few times, we were forced to book a different hotel nearby. Clearly my party was very disappointed.

This would have been a 5 star review, however I'm removing 2 stars due to very rude treatment by the breakfast staff lady. I had gone through the hot food line with my daughter. I think 4 out of 5 trays already had serving utensils in them as I only took from 2 pans. She came out of the back and proceeded to lecture me about leaving utensils in the food . When I told her that I hadnt even used all of them and they were there, she told me I was going to BURN someone by leaving them there. Never mind that guest after guest left them in following use. I might add that the trash was overflowing in breakfast area, many things not stocked. However, after her appearance to lecture me, she disappeared.
Other than that random experience, the front desk staff was very friendly, the rooms were nice and the breakfast food tasted great.
It's sad that one hateful attitude can hinder the overall great here.

This was a great place to stay. The room was very clean and friendly staff. The price was very resasonable. The breakfast had great availability and selection. I would highly recommend. If I am ever back in the area no doubt where I will be staying.

Amazing venue! I had my 30th birthday here and not only did the office sales managers go above and beyond for all my requests they provided staff, and food that were phenomenal. Definitely exceeded my expectations! Also reserved a two story suite and without a doubt the best room I ve reserved in Rockford.

Beautiful setting was there for a reformers unanimous conference and the cliff beakers event center was amazing and pleasantly catered to our needs

Hotel is quite nice, the overnight staff was very helpful and friendly.

Entered into town at an odd hour, and staff members were extremely accommodating and allowed me to check in earlier than any other hotel would have in the local area. Room was comfortable, quiet, and very clean. Excellent staff: friendly, knowledgeable. Great pool and workout room. Newly renovated. Grew up going to Cliffbreakers many years ago, and the current renovations capture the hotel's class and elegance. Definitely will book again when in the area.

Cliffbreakers is a beautiful hotel conference to go to. The employees helped me with any questions i had and were customer friendly. The breakfast in the morning is GREAT! with a beautiful view of the river. Me and my husband went there after we got married and we LOVED IT!, I just love this place and I will for sure go back.

Amazingly beautiful place for a wedding reception. One of the most memorable weddings of my live was here. Would definitely recommend it for a Rockford wedding.

This is updated review great price great views staff was very friendly room is extremely clean lots of cool history here. Renovations look like they're going to be amazing. Breakfast like most Hotel breakfasts missing the waffle iron but big deal. Views definitely worth the price which is very reasonable

Comfortable beds zero amenities they don't even have a vending machine that is stocked and the restaurant is closed.

Outdated, in need of repairs, it's ok for a cheap night's sleep.

Stayed for a week and we bought two rooms. The tv service didn t work at all. The food was badly cooked and presented. The pool was filthy and smelled horrible. The house keeping were very ghetto and didn t even come when we needed them. They over charged us for damages done to towels when it is their job to clean towels. Overall the stay was upsetting and I wouldn t recommend anyone to stay here for even a day.

This hotel was okay. Our room was not on time but I did not mine that, but the housekeeper stole my husband's bottles of wine that we put in the refrigerator. I should have left my things in the car while I waited for my room to get ready but I didn't. I put my wine in the refrigerator than left to go to dinner while they finish cleaning my room. I ask for more soap for my room and never got them. The service phone I had in my room ranged and ranged late in the middle of the night. Too expensive with so many problems and complaints.
But the room itself was nice. Had a nice view. The bathrooms were very clean. The rest of the room was not very clean. The buffet breakfast was okay, also. This is a second choice hotel.

Nice place. Obviously they do large banquets and conferences. Rooms are large. If you need cell phone access (and wifi) make sure to get something on the 3rd or 4th floor. I was on a lower floor which had terrible reception but I switched to a new room and it was fine. Switching was not a problem. The people there were very nice and helpful.

brilliant place, it has do much potential. i think it could murder any other business, restaursnt or bar if it got itself together. id even offer to be a chef for a tic to get it on board. trim the trees, add lighting, finish the rooms. cant bloody wait.

Easy to find. Beautiful inside and out. Large rooms, clean and comfortable. Large clean bathrooms with easy walk in showers. Their breakfast was great. Very nice staff. Historic inside with scenic views of Rock River.

Horrible! Got to pay a $100 deposit if you want to pay cash for the room instead of charging to room you reserved it on. They insist that deposit go onto the cc or you don't get the room. Stupid policy and will lose them alot of clients because of it. Ripped wallpaper all over. Holes in ceilings with exposed pipes. Will never stay there again!!!

I rented a conference room for a business meeting without visiting the property. I paid top dollar for plated meals ($16-$22 per plate). When I arrived at the hotel, I was stunned at the how bad it was. The carpeting was probably 15 years old, stained and in state of disrepair. There was a tarp covering the end of a hallway near the entrance to my conference room. Many of the windows in the conference room had their seals broken and you couldn't see through them. The hotel was nearly completely deserted. It felt like the Bates motel. The food was nearly inedible. After my meeting, I asked the manager for some consideration for my terrible experience and he refused. I will never be going back - but chances are the whole place should be out of business soon anyway. Total trash. Stay away!!!!!

Nice hotel with updates but my door to room did not lock when I left

I am going to this place this weekend and now I am worried. I also am disappointed that when I made the reservation I was not told that the restaurant would be closed for renovations. We just wanted to hang out at the hotel all weekend and now we have to leave to get meals. I hope it is not as dirty as some of you are saying. I was really looking forward to a weekend away

Super nice woman working at the front desk! We stopped unexpectedly in Rockford and needed a hotel that was pet-friendly and they accommodated us right away and for a very reasonable price!

It was a pretty ok place. It had a nice pool, but the breakfast could be better. I only spent a day so I don't know for sure

I'm sorry, but I probably will never be staying here again. I have had the same service Elsewhere for half the price. I booked my room months in advance and was still given a room right off the noisy lobby with a tree blocking what would be a beautiful view. Then we go to the pool, the amenity which sold us on your hotel was ice cold. The pet friendly fee was not so friendly. I know you do not do any extra cleaning because we brought a dog because I room was filthy. At least the breakfast was good. Overall not worth it.

Interior is nice, facility is half closed, trees, bushes, weeds out of control. Don't stay here trust me. It seems like its closed...or will be closing soon.

We went as a group of 6 adults & 6 girls for pre-prom dinner. We were very disappointed as 4 naked fish were over cooked, as was the chicken parmesan sandwich and 3 of the burgers. For the pruce, we felt we got way less quality food than was expected. We still tipped our waitress well as it was not her fault how the food was cooked. We will think twice before coming here again.

Half of the place was still shut down and the staff was not very friendly.

We were there for a wedding, which was hosted in a beautiful ballroom with excellent service. Our room was upgraded to a townhouse with a view over the river and it was a comfortable experience.

We had our wedding here. Couldn't have been happier.

Facilities were clean and looked nice, staff was friendly and efficient, and the food was well made.

Our family stayed 4 nights and have loved our visit. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Clean air circulation and bright lighting is so nice. We will stay here again! A hidden gem along the river!

A very nice classy place, beds were nice, staff was friendly and helpful, fitness room and pool were good, microwave, fridge, TV were all nice. There were a few things that irritated me like how the heat in the pool was very hot and In the rooms It was hot, but it has ac. Close to many things. Shower has hot water. A truly nice place I will stay at again.

Banquet facility and hotel are real nice. Food was good. They did not clear plates from the table. We were told, "Just put them in the center of the table." I thought this was odd. While the keynote speaker was talking, mice started running under the tables. The speaker wasn't aware of this and was wondering why folks were acting so odd.

Attended a wedding here. Food was not cooked. Raw potatoes raw meat and no seasoning.
