Nice clean sites, friendly staff and conveniently located close to lots of local attractions.
Great little campground plenty of shade, water with beach and quiet
Friendly great clean beach bathroom s are clean
. perfect for everyone
This is not a pleasant site.
Staff are rude, and stalk and comment on your every move
I was there this weekend the owner Was very rude , disrespectful , arrogant after my experience with him iWork s advise nobody ever spend your hard earned money there , I wouldn t stay there because of him even if someone wanted to pay for it !!!!!
The campground has a nice little beach right on Pemigewasset Lake. It's a clean lake for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, etc The campground is 80% seasonal campers. While we were there the seasonal folks went to work during the week so the place was very quiet. We had great cell coverage while camping. They charge for wifi and we didn't buy it so I can't comment on the speed. The transient sites have full hook ups and some have water and electric. The sites are nicely wooded and mostly level. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. The bathrooms were decent and the showers were free. The playgrounds didn't compare to other campgrounds we've stayed at but it did have a tennis court, sand volley ball court, swings and horse shoe pits. The camp was very dog friendly. There were plenty of barrels for trash and dog poop-bag stations. The store and check in area is very nice and they use gate cards to access the grounds ($10 deposit on gate card). This gate card also access the Meredith Woods campground across the street. You can use the facilities over there. Meredith Woods has an indoor pool and a nice doggy park. The camp workers were very friendly and non-obtrusive. The woman running the boat rental hut is kind of grumpy. Bring her a donut or something to cheer her up. The camp store is beautiful and well equipped! All in all this is a fun place to visit. The beach is great for the kids and there is plenty to do and see in Meredith. For you skiers and snowmobilers, Meredith Woods Campground is open year round.
I love this campground I have been going since I was 8
Large wooded sites with good spacing. Great beach and clean bathrooms. Location is perfect, close to all lake area attractions.
Awesome beach guiet clean bathrooms friendly staff good size site's close to lot of fun activities dog friendly
I love the campground. This is the second time I stay. This time was different. I had a very bad experience with staff member or manager. Not sure who she was since she never said who sje was or that she even worked there. Goes by Sue Makin. She pulled up her suv to my family members campsite and came out her car and started yelling "Move your car right now!" "I'm not leaving until you move your car!" I had not idea who this lady was and why was she yelling. She continued to threatened "Do you want to stay another night? Then you need to move your car right now!" On front of all and most important my 3 small children. I went to rhe offoce to complain about this rude lady and come to find her behind rhe counter. The was extremely rude and messed up the great moment I was having with my family. I've been camping for the past 9 years now and know how to respect other. I dont wish this on anyone from this lady Sue Makin. Hopefully she is not rudy to others like she was to.me.
absolutely loved it there, cabin beautiful and clean , could do without hearing traffic on 104 though.
Great campground! I stayed with my girlfriend for a week during the off season in September last year in a cabin. We had a great time. The cabin with the kitchen was like brand new inside. We had friends come up and stay in the cabin too and it didn't feel cramped. The couch transformed into a small bed. The sites are very clean and well maintained. Water access is very easy to get to and convenient.
My family and I really enjoyed Clearwater Campground in Meredith, NH! We ve already booked again! The sites are spacious and wooded, the beach is beautiful and well maintained and everyone we encountered (staff and seasonals) were very friendly! This campground feels like the place we ve been looking for. They have an indoor pool across the street at their sister campground that all Clearwater campers are free to use! We went multiple times; my kids loved it! They have a small playground next to the beach (and other play structures throughout the campground), a store/snack shack on the beach with VERY reasonable prices. The large snow cones were $1 and smoothies were $2! The store employee, Dee (she s awesome!!!!!) said they usually have some food but they opted not to do that this year due to covid, which is understandable! They also have free kayak storage down by the water! The owners really seem to care about making sure the place is kept up well and ensuring everyone understands proper camping etiquette. If I had to come up with one complaint, it doesn t appear that transient campers can pick their site. I think that is something they should consider changing. There are a few sites that you can hear a little street noise and I don t imagine I d enjoy those particular sites. However, I still love this place and can t wait to go back! One thing that is awesome and worth mentioning is that on the holiday weekends you can check out as late at 8PM. I can t tell you how much we loved that. It took so much stress off of us getting packed up quickly and out of there with little kids!
Militant, overzealous, inflexible atmosphere!
Two RVs, never again!
The only thing I have to say about this place is that it is beautiful. Everything you need to camp is in this place. Believe me you are going to love this place when you visit it.
Utterly expensive, they overcharge for absolutely everything, dirty place, dirty bathrooms, and very unpleasant staff. Absolutely not worth the money.
Very nice campground. They are a bit stiff pricewise Charge for every little thing including early check in and late check-out even within reason. But it is a beautiful campground. Very well maintained.
Bad service from one staff, unsure if she was the manager.
Our family and I camp regularly always respectful to our neighbors. This was our first time at Clearwater Campground. The beach area is not so great, good location close to beautiful places, and bathrooms are clean. However, I m unsure if it s the owner or manager of this place. There was a woman working there who drove a Lincoln SUV around the campground who was unwelcoming and rude. We will not be returning again due to her rudeness. This woman did not introduce herself, she pulled up on her SUV screaming in a mean way MOVE YOUR CAR NOW . She yelled from her SUV with her windows down for about three minutes which was very unnecessary, our visitor was in the bathroom at that time.
When asking nicely for a refund with our friend who had erroneously booked a cabin. This same woman appeared from behind the counter and argued with us saying she never forced him and stated why can t your friend speak for himself . Mind you we were there for our friend s social support. The cancellation return policy was a credit to camp there again..... which our friend will not return there again due to the embarrassment this unkind woman put him through. I wish I had posted this review as soon as it occurred, because it s sad to know it happened to somebody else 4 days ago. I guess this staff s name is Sue. All the other staff were very nice but, for these reasons and the way we were treated by this woman, we ve decided to never go back to this campsite. We will definitely return to the welcoming town again.
Great place to go camping. Lots to do on and off the campground.
Sites are not on top of each other. Efficiency cabin was nice. Full sized ( not Queen) bed in private room. Do not depend on pull out couch. Felt like we slept on monkey bars. Next night we put the kitchen set on deck to make room for 2 twin air mattresses. The couch was very comfortable closed up to sleep 1. Very clean. Lot was sandy so we swept up a few times a day and put towel at front door to wipe feet.
The campground was awesome a great place to come relax take it easy
Beautiful place peaceful pet friendly with dog parks parks for the kids the swimming pool and hot tub are top notch staff is friendly the game room is awesome sites are reasonably priced and well separated for more privacy i will be making this a annual trip
Lots of construction even on 4th of July at 630am :(
We are very happy with the campgrounds here! My family and I spent three days here and had a great time! If I was to say anything negative about the stay here it would be the swamp that we were parked right beside, a bit unsightfully, however even that is a creation of our God! So we can find beauty in that as well! The bathroom and showers were the best I think I ever saw in a campground! Very nice!
Thanks for the great time!
Sites have a little privacy and good amenities. The lake is nice and quiet, great for kayaking!
Campground was absolutely beautiful. My family and I stayed in the cabins. We actually like this area because it's close to all the attractions for family's and there's ton to do if you have kids !
Excellent location! Sites are clean and indoor pool is a big plus for the kiddos!!!
site 137 has great shade & is back from the road. beach is nice
I remember going when I was a kid and not a lot has changed.
Overall I enjoyed my short stay. Check in was easy, even with the COVID guidelines, the staff was helpful and pleasant. The deluxe cabin was clean, well kept and the site was nice as well. The store is new and stocked nicely and each night was quiet. However.... upon checkout I was scolded like a child for being 8 minutes past my check out time of 12:00PM. I was not greeted with hello how was your stay and thank you for staying with us and giving us your buisness... I was greeted with... OK you are LATE, checkout is as 12:00pm just for future reference... well guess what folks... there won't be a future next time... I kindly said my apologies for making sure I left the cabin in the condition it was given to me, threw out the trash, and was stuck behind a fifth wheel trailer in the road fixing his tow hitch... note that I was out of the cabin at 11:57 just not at the store desk by noon.
Very safe and well organized campground to spend time with the family specially for the first camping experiences. It offers electrity and water connections right in your spot, a small store in case you forget something, kids park, lake with boats and other amenities.
The camp spots are a smaller than others around the area and too close to others so that you won t get the being excluded experience. It has a fire pit and you have to bring your own grill.
Camping is the perfect opportunity to inspire people to be more eco-conscious... to reuse the (plastic) key-card and classify the trash will be great! I separate reciclying, compost and trash and I need to put it in the same dumpster.
Very nice place for camping. I grew up going to this campground. Nothing but fond memories.
Beautiful, clean family campground. Close to all attractions.
Not worth the money. Could be a cool place, but it's fairly trashed and way higher priced then most. I think they rely on the other campgrounds filling up so they can charge you $50 to tent camp on their precious dirt. I don't even want to think what they'd charge an RV.
Great campground, lots to do with kids, nice beach that had a little store for snacks etc. Super nice people at the check in/camp store. Quick jaunt to weirs beach area and Kellarhause for gifts or ice cream bar!
We stayed there one night with our RV coming from Mt Washington and going back to NJ. While the camping is well designed and maintained with nice facilities, the personnel was not really accommodating when it came to enjoy what the campground has to offer with its access to the lake. While they offer the opportunity to rent kayak and paddles to enjoy the lake, they refused to let us rent any material for an hour or two, as we were checking out that same day at noon. This is definitely not a place for a one night stop.
Beautiful beach on the lake. I'm staying at the partner campground across the street but it's so peaceful. Great place to relax and unwind.
Great experience camping at Clearwater campground. Sites are decent size and fairly private. The staff is friendly and willing to accommodate to best of their abilities. The wash house was always clean, bright and warm. Lastly, indoor pool! What a treat!!!
Great campground on a lake with boat access. Clean bathroom's with showers. Nice size camp sites.
One of my favorite campgrounds. Sites are woodsy enough and the beach is always nicely maintained.
Horrible experience. Was spoken to by a seasonal site. Never the owner. My dogs were too Loud. I Paid for the week and left early. Owner was no were to
Be seen after the people across from
Me told me They d call the cops on me because of my dog that was allowed.
I ll never be back and never suggest this to anyone who
Has kids or animals.
Wow!!!! I read all the reveiw's, i went here about 12 years ago and it was the worse experience ive ever had camping, looks like nothings changed. shame on you for not taking care of your guest.
My son worked here and loved it! Much bigger than I thought it was and I ve driven by them for years. The owners are extremely friendly and love what they do. The campground seems to be their pride and joy and it shows. Very clean, very friendly, on the lake with privacy. What more could you ask for! They also own Meredith Woods across the street which is another great option :)
Loved our weekend. Stayed in a deluxe cabin (husband doesn't camp). It's a small house - bedroom, closet, futon, full kitchen, TV, bunk beds if you have kids, ac/heat. Store had the food we needed and was the same price as supermarkets. Wood was cheaper. Place was spotless. 2 hours of canoeing for $12. We've pd more . Coming back next year.
The camp ground it self is nice but it's not nice enough to overlook the flaws. Bathrooms are always dirty and toilets clogged. No wifi, the lake is nice but often over run by the same group of seasonals who takes up all of the picnic tables and play music loud enough to infringe on other people trying to relax at the lake. A lot of the campers refer to the lady that works in the shack on the beach as a troll, it is fitting, she is awful. The staff is arbitrary and irrational and very unwelcoming.
Large beautiful park. Well managed. The security guard stopped by a couple times at night to remind us that we were being to loud. We will be back.
The owner is rude and arrogant. I would highly recommend staying far far away!!!
The campground was quiet and inviting. The owners were very kind and they did everything they could to make our stay wonderful. We will certainly stay again!
Love Clearwater campground. Facilities modern and clean. Employees very nice. Highly recommend.
My family was seasonal for 9 years and we loved it there. Their lake is beautiful and lots of things to do. We had some not very pleasant moments but the experience wouldn t be the same without them. We really miss it there and everyone should check it out
*Buyer Beware*. The owners of this campground are UNBELIEVABLY disrespectful, burned-out, mean people. Simply read through the review history to confirm. There are countless stories of the owner Sue, and her hapless husband John, intimidating, publically humiliating, and being downright awful to to the guests and seasonal residents of this campground. They know they're the only show in town, and they act like it.
I've traveled the world and met many people whom I respect and still correspond with. These people are the worst, darkest, most disrespectful and awful I have ever met.
Don't waste your money here. Consider your options carefully, and read through the prior reviews carefully if you're not sure if you believe my review. Don't support this terrible family and their hurtful approach to owning a campground. If they hate owning a campground this much, they should sell.
Wooded sites w/ space. Helpful staff. But need to pay for WiFi $2 per device per day.
Nice beach, places partly in the forest, mosquitoes!
First time at this campground and we had a great time. Clean and well maintained everywhere. We will be back.
NEVER AGAIN!!
If you like to be misled and misinformed, "nickel and dimed." and underwhelmed then this would be the place for you to go.
Misled and misinformed?? Personally, if I wanted to go "camping" next to a major road, I would pitch a tent in my front yard.
My second night there (so should have gone somewhere else!!), I paid and burned thru 9 "bundles" of their wood at $4 a bundle........We adhered to their no additional wood on the fire pit after midnight.............as a matter of fact, that fire was actually out by midnight!!!!
You can rent a paddle or canoe or row boat there!!! Oh......it's like $12 an hour (ok, that's fine), BUT you have to return that in 2 hours or at least check in in 2 hours to make sure nobody else wants it!!!! Think about that............those kind of older boats at $12 an hour and needs to be returned in 2 hours! I brought my 2 kids out fishing in a paddle boat and would have liked to have had the opportunity to pay a flat fee for our duration.
The owner is clueless!!!!!!
My initial site sucked......I totally complained as I realized after I drove 3 hours that I could have had a similar camping experience from my front yard!! Not joking!! The cancellation/return policy is ONLY A CREDIT TO CAMP CLEARWATER!!!! I should have taken that as a sign of a bad place to be!
I was stuck paying for the site regardless if I stayed or not. Only a credit would be given to the same site.......I knew I wasn't coming back. I was with my kids and wanted to give Camp Clearwater the benefit of the doubt.
Although the staff was very nice, I found 20 watt bulbs brighter and to be particularly condenscending!!
No chance I ever go back............solo and especially not with my kids
I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!
Me and my extended family spent 5 days, 4 nights here. The staff were not accommodating, I'm sure it was due to their age. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! The screen doors to the showers were covered in large dead bugs, that would stare at you while showering. Me and the rest of the 17 other family members will never step foot, never mind ever camp there ever again! I rate this campground a fat zero!!
Very curtious And they clean bathrooms daily and if a
Toilet is clogged it s up to a camper to notify office!
Awesome stay at the tent site#10 which is very near to the beach and play area. Bathrooms were clean. Since we checked in late, the office was closed, but the night security guard was very helpful, gave us the campground map and showed us directions to our site. We had a hassle free check-in. Had a pleasant stay! The campground looked beautiful with the fall colors
Beautiful little campsite. A bit noisy but acceptable for one night
