Classic Harbor Line Review

Me and my wife went on the night time 9:30 to 11:15 schooner cruise, we arrived at the docks and got our tickets to board and we only waited about 10min in line which was nice. Our cruise package included 3 rounds of drinks such as wine/beer/sparkling wine. We were told the first round will be served after leaving the docks, the second halfway through the trip, and the third upon arrival to docks. The first round was served on time and a wonderful jazz band was playing great live music! We got to the statue of liberty pretty close and she was amazing to see at night all lit up, seeing this is basically the halfway mark of the trip and we had already finished our first round (here is where I had to deduct a star) we did NOT receive our second round of drinks, the lady serving our side of the boat completely skipped right past me and my wife and another couple directly next to us, eventually the lady next to us had mentioned it to another crew member and then we were served. Then as we got back to the dock they completely forgot to give out any third round at all to anyone on our side of the boat so we mentioned it again to a member who then got us our third round and proceeded to tell us we had to finish the drinks on the boat before departing, so we continued to finish our drinks and casually talk amongst our group so we stayed maybe another 5 minutes past docking the boat and one of the crew members said to us in a rude way "we have been on the boat since noon and we all want to go home"... my thought was im sorry to inconvenience you but this is an aniversary trip for us and we wanted what we paid for and we were left out not once, but 2 times for drinks and then they we get rushed to finish our drinks and leave the boat, not cool.

This tour is a great way to see New York! I did the express cruise to the Statue of Liberty and back, and it was perfect. The boat was absolutely gorgeous, very open, and clean. There were two bathrooms downstairs and a bar upstairs. The staff was friendly and the express is perfect for doing some sightseeing without taking up the whole day. With a glass of wine, beer, or mimosa on the house, what's not to enjoy?

This was our third sail with you and it was a great night. Thank you for great service.

It was a cold day but that didn't matter as the boat was warm and the tour guide was top notch. The champagne and hors d'oeuvres were a nice addition. Great way to get NYC in perspective.

The sunset sail on the Adirondack was incredible in all aspects. Friendly skilled crew, beautiful views, and best of all felt very safe on deck in open air, social distancing guidelines and mask requirements strictly followed by all. Thank you for a fabulous experience. Be back soon!!

Love taking a cruise on the Adirondack, especially as the sun is setting and dusk settles over downtown NYC. The crew is super friendly and adept: no muss, no fuss. Great fun. Very relaxing. Good to get "out of the city" and onto the water.

This is such a great experience!!! I visit NYC every year and book a brunch cruise EVERY Year!!! Everyone I have brought to NYC enjoys this and says that this is definitely one of the highlights of their trip. The crew on both I & II are great and the food is always amazing. It does not matter if it is raining or sunny you will always enjoy the cruise. I look forward to trying one of the other cruises in the future as well. Look forward to my next trip!

Great tour today on the Kingston classic yacht! My husband and I took the hour and half tour to the statue and skyline. We were looking for a more private tour than the big cruises. This was perfect!! Great price! Beautiful boat! Full bar! Knowledgeable captain! Only four of us on this afternoon cruise. Plenty of room inside and outside to view the sites and take pictures.

We took the architectural tour and absolutely LOVED IT!! What a perfect way to see the city, learn about the skyline and spend a relaxing few hours. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city or just looking for something unique to do. Crew and harbor staff were super friendly and the champagne & snacks just topped off a great day!

I went on the bear Mountain trip and it was a blast! The staff were all very nice and helpful, and the food was amazing. Amazing experience.

Wow! I absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a relaxing yet fun adventure in the city! The boat is gorgeous and very clean and the crew was so nice. There are seats inside along the windows for everyone and if you sit on the left side of the boat you catch that view on the way out and catch the other side on the way back so you don't miss anything and it's a win-win. The ticket comes with a complimentary glass of wine or beer or you can get 50% off a cocktail of your choice. The boat is equipped with a full bar and they also have bar snacks available like a Mediterranean dish or cheese plate to enjoy with your refreshments. Would have loved a little bit more time around the Statue of Liberty, but understand that this is probably due to waterway restrictions and they don't have control over that. What a fabulous time, thank you Classic Harbor Line!

We had an AMAZING all female crew and the weather was iffy ! The captain assured us she checked the radar and we would be safe . She was correct, only a few drops of rain.
We live in jersey City and rarely do tourist activities but we loved this enough to book again. It is peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. They serve 3 glasses of beverages to your liking and you have a 2 hour sail with more than enough room!

Excellent experience. Well organized. Tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable. The tour actually counted for continuing education credits for architects, lending credibility and is why I chose this tour over others. Boat was comfortable with excellent viewing indoors and out. The snacks were plentiful and classy.

My husband and I took an AIANY Architecture Boat Tour on the Manhattan II and we absolutely loved it. It was something we decided to do for our first wedding anniversary and we are glad we did. The boat itself was beautiful. The staff was friendly and attentive and the narrative/information we received from the architect was terrific. We learned so much we of course didn t know and enjoyed a nice, calming ride on the Hudson and East River. Thanks Classic Harbor Line for a great tour!

I had a wonderful 40th birthday celebrating on the Manhattan II with a limited party, due to covid. Every precaution was taken, we felt very safe and spaced out. The staff were amazing and so friendly, we had the best time. Thanks for helping me have such a special day!

Amazing! We went on the "Fall Foliage Schooner Sail" this weekend and it couldn't have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, the views were stunning, and our crew was so attentive (thanks Molly!!) :) The boat also comes fully stocked with drinks and hot cocoa, blankets, and even a bathroom, so we were super comfortable during our ride. 100% recommend!

The cruise was great; food adequate and crew excellent.
The only thing was it still was too early to enjoy the foliage change this year. Would also be better if it went up to Bear Mtn and back. Will plan to do it later next year.

My girlfriend and I did the Manhattan tour yesterday and we loved it. The boat is immaculate, the service is exceptional, the length of the tour is perfect and the guide was outstanding. A unique and dynamic way to see New York and learn about its history and architecture.

Top notch! The boat is spacious, clean, great seating. The staff are totally invested in your experience. Our trip could not have been better. I cannot recommend this trip more highly.

We did the sunset champagne boat tour on the Manhattan II, and it was incredible. Fantastic views of the city, the sunset and statue of liberty while being served drinks in a high end boat. Was a great experience.

We did the 1.5 hour cruise in the Manhattan ship. Staff very friendly and professional. Boat was nice and clean. Captain was good with the narrative. Liked that we could sit indoor or outdoor and move around on the ship. Especially appreciated how we were not packed in like sardines. $42, half price for youth, good value. Would recommend again.

The architect giving the tour was very knowledgeable. I have already recommended this tour to family members. Boat was beautiful and crew came around often to see if they could get you anything or snap a photo of you/family with Manhattan in the background. It was great to see Manhattan from another vantage point.

Did the Sunday architecture tour! Best views of the skyline, statue of liberty, and tons of fun facts. Food drinks and staff were all great. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting an unbeatable experience of NYC from the water.

beautiful ship excellent captain lacked commentary on what we were seeing = occasionally someone would come over speaker and say this is this, that is that, but 95% of time silent so we were left to try to figure out what we were looking at - so that was disappointing - was a great 1 plus of comfort time on water - non crowded - but having a bit more discipline on giving folks background on what they are looking at versus minimum crew trying to sell maximum alcohol & cheese plates

My husband gave me a sunset cruise aboard the America 2.0 as a birthday present. I cannot imagine a better gift. The sunset views were amazing and we even saw a rainbow! The crew was terrific and the boat was a fine vessel. Truly the perfect evening! We will be back with friends.

Super sweet crew, beautiful sailing yacht (the big one), fantastic views, quality drinks. Truly a 5 star experience I would recommend to anyone.

We went on a fourth of July cruise on the America 2. What a great choice! We had a great time even if we missed out on partying with 40,000 of our closest friends on shore. My only gripe would be the raised cost for this special event. It was more than a bit steep and had it not been my wife's 60th birthday I would have passed. Regardless, the crew was great and we had a marvelous time.

It was a perfect day. The boat left right on time, and returned exactly as scheduled. The lecturer was very informative. Everything was gracious and we appreciated the free drinks and tasty snacks. too

This us our second year on the Manhattan II for the Fall Foliage Tour. This boat is immaculate. The staff are courteous and helpful. The food is fantastic. We plan to do this annually.

I did their romantic sunset sail on the Schooner sail-boat and it was absolutely amazing and the definite highlight of my trip. It is much, much better than the daytime cruises, especially those offered on bigger, modern, soulless yachts. You could try to score a deal on Groupon but even if you must pay the full price, go for this! Their boat sets sail just before sunset, goes all the way to the Statue of Liberty where you have plenty of photo opportunities and then it takes you back to the city as you watch the lights go up. It takes about two hours and you just don't want it to end :). You also get three rounds of drinks which is a nice bonus.

On the top of my list of favorite things to do at Christmas in NYC. We took the 4:30 cruise on Sat. The lights of NYC and NJ were shining brightly. The boat was festive and spotlessly clean. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a complimentary glass of wine or champagne. The skyline of NYC and the Statue of Liberty never fail to thrill me. After cruising around downtown Manhattan and under the Brooklyn Bridge it was time for carols and cookies. The crew really had us all laughing and singing along. The band was great and you were able to still talk to your friends. This will be a new tradition for us. We just loved the whole experience.

Very friendly crewmembers, sunset over the Hudson river with some good wine is an experience unparallelled! Not expensive at all as well. Would recommend it to anybody visiting NYC! Thanks guys

My husband and I went on this cruise and had a great time! The boat was decorated nicely for Christmas...the jazz band was lovely...as were the views of the Statue of Liberty and NY skyline at night.

An amazing way to see NYC! The weather wasn t great but even with mist hiding most of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty we had the most incredible night on the boat. Would highly recommend. I just wish I d done it three years ago when I first moved here as I would have brought every visitor on a trip. Oh and don t forget to bring a picnic!!

Had a very nice time. My sister was visiting and we decided to take a cruise. Inside was beautiful and service was very good as well.

It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed sailing around the harbor. The crew were friendly and experienced. We were fortunate to have a small touring group and it felt like a private tour. Would definitely do it again or recommend this to friends.

We did the 2:45-minute around Manhattan Architecture tour on a sunny hot Saturday. Our experience was excellent. The boat was very comfortable and offered unobstructed views regardless of where you were seated (I enjoyed being outside on the bow for much of the tour, enjoying the breeze and open sky). The narrator was excellent. He kept going for almost the entire time, which is remarkable. Filled with a good mix of information. I would have been interested in hearing some critical opinions of what he felt were successes and failures in the design, but perhaps that wades into political waters they would rather avoid.

The service was great, friendly, and comfortable. The boat was comfortably uncrowded (I was worried there would be competition for the best locations). More than enough seats and groups were evenly distributed without jostling. Nicely done!

We had a beautiful day and a beautiful Trip around the Statue of Liberty on July 9th, 2020 on
the Adirondack sail boat. The staff was very attentive and professional. My only complaint was that we waited for a passenger who, because of physical problems, could not board, and we started the voyage about 15 minutes late. Unfortunately, the advertised 2 hour Trip was cut short by 15 minutes instead of taking into account the delay. I don't think that that was right, especially that the ticket prices are not cheap ($54.00 each).

Our Champagne Sunset Cruise on the Manhatten was a marvelous way to end a day. The crew was spot on with service. The sights were spendid.
I would highly recommend this cruise and company. It is suitable for families, couples, and singles.

Winter COVID-19 Review: December 19th, 2020.

My boyfriend and I did the Cocoa Sunset cruise. We are native New Yorkers to which I have never seen the Statue Of Liberty in my near 30 years of life living here. You get 20% now until about March of 2021? So It was a perfect time to see it out.

The boat ride itself was very smooth sailing, captain did a great job of keeping the actual movement feeling to a minimal if you get motion sick easily, It was a very calm ride.

GET HERE EARLY! I cannot stress this enough, TREAT YOUR RESERVATION LIKE A PLANE RIDE. If you are not there at LEAST 20 minutes prior, you will not be allowed to board the ship and will be turned away. LEAVE-AMPLE-TIME.

COVID Restrictions: You have your own table separated by plexiglass which was really nice to be honest.

Since Dictator Cuomo ordered NYC Restaurants to close in-door dining with no data backing it as an actual method of spread of the COVID-19 Virus, the cruiseline ONLY allows food and drink on the outdoor bow, so you REALLY need to layer up because it's COLD. You get a free glass of champagne, hot cocoa, spiked hot cocoa, wine, beer, or non-alcoholic drink but you have to consume it outdoors. And yes, this also includes feeding your baby or your toddler's snacks--must all be consumed in the freezing cold air outside the boat [reasoning for 1 less star even though it's technically not their fault just a loophole] Which in reality does not make sense since I feel like it is maritime law space but then again it is the Hudson River so maybe it is property of NJ/NY... I don't know for sure.

The staff was very understanding of all things considered.

The reasoning for my other lesser star is because you need to have food to get your alcoholic drink so they give you free sweet & salty mix.. Which is actually spicy and not good for people who can't handle it. It also contained nuts which was not known beforehand. Our ship had about 4 or 5/ 15 people with allergies.

IF YOU ARE SEVERLY ALLERGIC TO NUTS, LET THEM KNOW BEFORE YOU EVEN BOARD THE SHIP.

This was a problem for 2 people on our trip, thankfully I asked since my boyfriend is allergic to Nuts, Gluten, and Soy. Which unfortunately made for a very angry trip. We were told ahead of time there would be a limited menu of food items [we thought at least sandwiches of which we could cut out the bread or something] But all the "limited food menu" is - is a cheese board with nuts, nut packs, & gluten snacks--So if you have allergies, bring your own food--but it can only be snack-type no full meals.



TL;DR: Recommended during COVID- Bring your own snacks, prepare for cold, bitter wind when eating and drinking outside on the bow. GET HERE 20 MINUTES EARLY!

We took the AIA Tour and it was wonderful!! Very informative and interesting about so many building along the NYC skyline and shoreline. Also the handout with even more buildings location noted. Our guide was knowledgable and a focused speaker. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a little extra information on the many many architectural masterpieces in the city.

what an amazing experience from begin to end the stuff was just soo nice and cool and the process to board the boat was smooth!!!

TONS of fun! My second trip. Improvements that can be made? 1) Egg Nazi - can only have ONE square of eggs . . . 2) Inside, one cannot hear (muffled sound) captain with the comments of area features.

Took my girlfriend on a date here and we had a great time! We had good drinks, good views, and the trio, the "Sound Waves" were awesome! This boat ride is classy, relaxing, and fun and I would recommend anyone to go on it. My girlfriend told me it was the best part of our whole trip to NYC. Next time we go to NYC again, we will definitely consider going again!

Great tour, good quality, comfortable clean boat. The architect voice over made it interesting as well as seeing all the usual sights from the water. Highly recommended.

We loved our 1.5 hour tour on the Kingston. From start to finish it was exactly what we were expecting and needed. It was way hot and so being on the water and in the shade was perfect. Having a cold beverage to sip on was icing on the cake. The trip showed us wonderful skyline views of NY from the west, south and east side. We got up close to Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and Governors Island, and all the gorgeous bridges too. The narration by our skipper was just perfect - adding wonderful historical and current day information, but lots of peaceful cruising too. And we had a nice size crowd that allowed us to easily navigate to all sides of the boat or sit and enjoy the excellent view! Perfect!!

One of the best experiences in the city, the crew is friendly and helpful, the ship is amazing, spacious and comfortable. If you want to take the perfect picture of the city this is your best option. And the food and drinks are great. Recommended.

Bought two student tickets for myself and my significant other. We had an amazing time. We are both architecture graduates and found it really informative and think it would be good for those who don t have much prior knowledge either. The pricing, especially for students, is very fair - they also gave us more drinks then we expected btw.

Make sure to get there early and read their guidelines sent in the confirmation email. Also we went while they had COVID restrictions (masks, distancing, available hand sanitizer, limited occupancy) and felt the experience was safe and actually nice having less people.

What a lovely way to end our first day in New York City. The staff on the ground and on the boat were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The information delivered during the cruise was not invasive and only included the essentials ... beautiful time of evening . The Chelsea Piers were easy to get to and from.

Booked the Fourth of July fireworks cruise. Unseasonably balmy night in the Bay led to a very enjoyable cruise. Lovely views of the City. Boarding was very orderly and they did not overbook so everyone had plenty of personal space. Stood at the bow and had a perfect view of the fireworks. Book early the 4 ferries book up fast. Amazing place.

Very enjoyable sunset cruise. I enjoyed watching these very able women hoist the sails and get us on our journey. The captain provided lots of information about what we were seeing. Whole crew was very attentive. Liked the small group size, as compared to some of the larger ships. Do it!

We had such a lovely sunset cruise. This was a "special date" for me and my 6 year old, and it really did feel special.

What a fantastic tour. Probably the best thing we did as during our trip to NYC. Truly interesting, informative, entertaining - ticked a load of boxes. Great way to spend three hours out of the early summer sun - seeing NYC from a new perspective. Our host was a very knowledgeable Architect and his narrative proved really valuable and easy to understand - peppered with some technical stuff and loads of useful insights - fantastic.
I've given this 4-stars and not 5-stars for one reason only - food in the form of flat bread, humous, olives and soft cheese was provided and frankly it was irrelevant - caused a wee log-jam during the scramble to get a bite - and would have been far better replaced with a second round of drinks.

We have made multiple trips to New York. On the advice of a friend we took tour. Best part of any of our trips. Guaranteed we will be on the Classic Harbor Line when we return.
Our guide was most knowledgeable.

This was our 2nd Classic Harbor Line tour. We did the AIA NYC Architecture tour and it was fantastic. Our AIA guide, Joe, was extremely knowledgeable, which made for a great experience. Joe truly brought the New York City to life -- even more than it already is! He provided us with so much background information on the many buildings and sites, that you really feel like you really got to know the City. The tour lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes and the boat took us around the entire island. The boat was very comfortable with a large inside seating area and also an area outside to see even better. The crew also did a great job, and we enjoyed the tour very much. It's worth every penny to take this great tour!

This is a very informative tour of the architecture of Manhattan (and a little of NJ as well). The guide, a certified architect with AIA, has some interesting stories to tell about some of the buildings along the way and some interesting facts to share about others. Two things, however, make this tour less enjoyable than it should be: First and foremost, it is three hours long when it should be two hours. We passed many of the same buildings more than once (which might be a peculiarity because of the particular route that we are required to follow because of a bridge closure) and the guide remarked on some of the same buildings two or three times. It would have been much better to consolidate the commentary so the guide would discuss a particular building only once. Secondly, there isn't a lot of cohesiveness to the narrative. While there are many interesting facts related, the tour doesn't have an organizing principle: for example, it's not chronologically organized (understandable), but it seems that it should have some organization surrounding architectural style and its development. Improving the "story" would go a long way to making this a first class tour like the one in Chicago.

Went with my fiance on the Adirondack (schooner), we had a great time. It was really cold but they gave us lots of blankets and hot drinks. The crew was really nice and I definitely recommend. (Look into the Groupon)

Not recommend this company. If you want to spent some good time please choose other company. Smells bad. And very bad quality of food. And bad service , wish you will not ruin your time with this one.

I went on the AIANY around Manhattan Architecture and it was one of the best experiences I ever had. The tour guide was great (I forget his name ), the crew staff was excellent. My only reservation was the food (I m African... some chicken would have been nice, lol). Again, it was a great tour, the timing was perfect (I thought I d get bored but just being on water and learning about the different infrastructure and the meaning behind them was better than I expected). I can t wait to go back with friends or a loved one
