This boat tour impressed a born and bred New Yorker. We took the sunset cruise on board a 1950's style yacht that ran for 1.5 hours and it was delightful. The entire experience is well worth the very reasonable cost.

The sunset cocktail cruise on the Full Moon was everything we hoped. The yacht is small enough to feel intimate but large enough not to feel cramped. We enjoyed the captain and service was excellent. Will definitely take this cruise again!

Excellent! Unanimously, one of the best things we did on our trip and we were a mix of adult London visitors, ex NYC residents and kids 13 and 17 years old. Very informative and interesting. Great guide and staff. Loved the intimate size of the boat, its historical design and the combination of comfortable, great viewing interior combined with ability to go out to the deck.

I took this cruise on Monday, 10/23/17. Although the air temp was mild, it was breezy. The crew of 3 women handled themselves expertly, professionally and were excellent host. They worked extremely well together. I found the experience wildly exhilarating and exciting. Koodo's to the crew.

We took a 2 hour sailing tour on the Adirondack and it was an absolute lovely time. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff, beautiful boat and we got a lovely relaxing tour of the Hudson river and Statue of Liberty with cocktail service on the boat. They were very accommodating and helpful as we had on guest in our party that was walking with a cane and they assisted us in getting him on board with no fuss. Can't say enough about how unique and fun this tour was. We will be taking all of our out of town guests on this tour as it's a really new perspective on site seeing in NYC. If you are looking for something cool to do with out of town guests this is it! Thank you crew of the Adirondack!

I highly recommend the Holiday Brunch Cruise for anyone looking for an escape from the big city hustle and bustle during the holiday season. The yacht is so beautiful and elegant and the food was absolutely delicious!! The views of the city were great as well. We go some close up pics of the statue of liberty. This was definitely the highlight of our NYC vacation!!!

I reserved a trip for two on the Adirondack about a week out with no problem. It's also October so that may have helped. The location was a little confusing and I had to Google the company to find the address but it was only a slight inconvenience. The experience on the boat was pretty awesome. It was a mix of tourists and locals. The crew was knowledgeable and super friendly. The sights were breathtaking and romantic.

They served three rounds of beer/wine which I wasn't expecting and they also offer to take pictures of your party. **Take cash for a tip**

We booked the cruise for a Friday Sunset cruise on Yacht Manhattan
Although pricier as compared to other options, but it is worth the extra bucks. The cruise was perfect in every sense. Started on time and the number of people on board were limited. So you can get your best shots without it getting crowded at any time. The service was fantastic and everyone was polite and helpful. 100% percent recommend this to everyone who wants to have a cruise to Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn bridge in New York.

I was on the Military History Tour of New York Harbor. Highly recommended! Beautiful boat, the Manhattan II, and a detailed highly thoughtful narrative of WWI and WWII history in NYC. I grew up in New Jersey, and still found all the information to be new.

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The combination of a) a boat ride to see a different perspective of NYC than I ve ever seen before and b) a narrative by a knowledgeable and pleasant guide kept our group of seven thoroughly entertained. Well done!

The tour in general is very good.
Excellent attention, Comfortable, Good visibility, Entertaining and very interesting.
I did not rate it 5 stars because I understood only 25% of what the tour guide was saying, I think due to the audio system.
He spoke perfect English and I understand English very well but I still didn't understand what he was saying.

As a native New Yorker, I felt I knew this city pretty well. This trip added quite a bit to my knowledge of NY.
I highly recommend this trip to New Yorkers as well as out of towners and people from other nations.
In addition, the snacks were wonderful and plentiful.

Fourth of July Macy's Fireworks 2019 on Schooner Adirondack was amazing! You have a classy, front row seat to the fireworks. The trip is enhanced by attentive service from an expert captain and engaging, friendly crew, whose hospitality is impressive since they are also nimble and swift at making sure the sails are in ideal alignment. We enjoyed the generous flow of savory food including a selection of cheeses, Greek meze, Italian cured meat sandwiches, a variety of breads, fancy cookies. I also appreciated the flow of curated beverages--we enjoyed Provence rose and Gruner Vetliner (white) wines. Captain Kat was awesome--from her initial orientation through her navigating us to a spacious place with a great view of the fireworks that was away from the vessels with loud music.

I came here on a champagne sunset cruise through Groupon and had an all around amazing experience. Customer service was excellent, the yacht was clean and beautiful with seating and space both outdoors on the deck and inside. There were complimentary drinks included which was a nice touch. There was plenty of room for everyone on board to enjoy the air and views and take pictures. At one point they announced it was about to rain so they told us we can all go indoors and we got to watch the rain from inside and stay dry (plus have ten more minutes on the yacht). Superb experience, would recommend!

Amazing experience! There's nothing better than being on a sailboat getting the best view of all the cities, especially NYC. It was really great going by Lady Liberty and Ellis Island as well. The crew was awesome, very professional, and it was fun to watch how a sailboat operates. Great team! My wife and I plan to do this again. Thank you for everything!

I smile from ear to ear when on this boat sailing in the Hudson with the Manhattan sky line and Statue of Liberty as the backdrop! Water, cool air, beautiful sky and a view/vantage point only experienced by those who venture out on Classic Harbor Lines ! A must do whether you live or are visiting NY!

Took the 90 minute statue and skyline cruise with my wife and son. What can I say other than we all had a fabulous time. Plenty room to move around and lovely glassed in seating area with air conditioning and plenty of room on the deck outside.
Drink included in the price, the beer is served really cold which was brilliant.
Crewed by lovely friendly staff.
Highly recommend

We went on the Champagne Cruise from 5:45 - 7:15 pm out of Chelsea Piers and it was a beautiful evening -- we had perfect weather. The service was wonderful. Seating is comfortable both on deck and down below. We had preordered a cheese plate and got a complimentary glass of wine/beer. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the trip around lower Manhattan as much as we were.

We recently took our two teenage nieces on this tour, and all four had a lovely time. You are guaranteed a seat, which is great in my view. We were given the high points of information, but were not "talked at" the entire time, unlike officially narrated tours. When the sun got unbearable at a point, we were able to move into comfortable shelter. Otherwise, there was enough room outside for all. They provide you with a sode or beer/wine as part of the ticket price, and you can also order food. The girls ordered something, and thought it was great. Reasonably priced for this type of thing. ONLY ONE PROBLEM - if you buy your tickets in advance, you have to go to the on-site ticket booth and exchange them. Nobody tells you that, so we waited for 15 minutes, and then had to wait 10 more to "exchange" them. Now that you know you have to do this, you should be set to go. A lovely alternative to some of the competition, which I've also taken.

We went on a Manhattan Brunch cruise with Classic Harbor and we absolutely loved the experience. The boat was beautiful and the huge all around glass windows made for a lovely atmosphere inside. The service was excellent as the captain and his staff were very friendly and attentive. The food, while it wasn't the most amazing we had in New York, was solid and enjoyable. But the real winner was the escape from the hustle and bustle and the skyline views.

Definitely one of the highlights during our stay in New York. We spend 2 hours listening to fine jazz music and enjoying the best view of Manhattan skylines. The stuff was very friendly and they provide you with a complimentary drink that we sip fashioned by the fire of the iconic lady Liberty. In conclusion, I strongly recommend this trip, it will not let you down and I advice to take the sunset one with live jazz music on board.

I found the directions to the AIA-NY Around Manhat...

I found the directions to the AIA-NY Around Manhattan cruise clear and helpful; all the staff friendly and competent; and the itinerary just what I had hoped for; thank you. (It helped that we went out on a glorious September afternoon.)

I was on the front deck most of the cruise, and we were not always able to hear the informative comments by architects (over a hand-held microphone). (This could happen when helicopters passed overhead, other craft passed us, the wind covered speech, and perhaps from certain places on the boat.)

On a tour in the Opera Garnier in Paris I experienced a different technology: each participant was given an earpiece, through which each of us could hear the guide's commentary, even at considerable distance (using some kind of wireless technology?). You can judge whether this would work in cruise conditions and whether it would be too expensive or complicated to introduce.)

But again, it was a wonderful experience in every way! (Especial thanks for going out by Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty -- that was wonderful.)

This review is regrading the AIANY Architecture a...

This review is regrading the AIANY Architecture and the Lights of Gotham tour.

I was told about the tours run by AIANY by a friend who participated in one while he was in NYC recently and recommended it highly (he in fact described it as the best thing he did on his holiday).

The short version of my reason for writing is while I agree it can clearly be a fantastic experience, my trip was unfortunately completely ruined by the management of people onboard during the journey.

I signed up to the tour for 2 main reasons - the unique experience of seeing NY from a totally different perspective, and to learn about its extensive history and landscape from a professional.

I could certainly see the potential for the experience to be wonderful and highly informative, but my night was totally ruined by a group (or groups, it s unclear if they were all together) of very loud individuals who made listening to the guide totally impossible.

The website and email following the ticket purchase described describes the experience as an informative tour where guests listen to the information being provided - but from the beginning of this evenings tour this particular group of people treated the experience as if it were some sort of a party boat. They were loud, disruptive and only continued to increase in noise as the tour was underway.

My main concern was the lack of management from staff to attend to this issue, despite the clear frustration from others on the trip. It was left to the guide, who was frankly just trying his best, to remind them between sentences to be quiet, and I essentially missed the first half of the tour information because it became impossible to hear the stories being communicated.

With staff waiting on tables across the night, there should have been more of an effort, or some sort of strategy in place, to manage this better, as it completely impacts the value of the experience. Considering the significant cost of the experience this issue made it a real letdown, and hampered how much I got out of what could have been a really fantastic trip.

I feel like I paid for a full experience and received the value of half of it, which is pretty disappointing.

I cannot stress enough that it would clearly have all been a wonderful time - the boat, the guide, the journey, the information - had it not been for this issue, but it was a major issue nonetheless.

My husband and I went on the Adirondack Schooner. It was a great trip to celebrate our anniversary! The crew Captain Catherine, Danny and Caleb were attentive, funny and all around awesome. They definitely added to the great experience of sailing the Hudson. We had amazing views of the city. We loved the fact that there was a limited amount of people on the sailboat, that made it so much better than being on a large boat with lots of tourists. It was a slightly windy day at the end of October and they offered us blankets and hot drinks. We are ex New Yorkers born and raised and it was a wonderful way to see our city again in this unique way. We highly recommend this trip!!!

We are having a great time in NYC! The Classic Harbor Line Architectural Tour was a highlight as it gave us a fantastic perspective of the development of Manhattan over time and the challenges it faces in the future. John was a knowledgeable host and knew all the current developments and the boat is a real treat as it is a replica of the original NY river boats and is very comfortable. I would recommend this to tourists and New Yorkers as a great afternoon on the water enjoying one of the most fascinating cities...Thanks guys

Can't say enough about how great Cat and her crew were! We absolutely loved our harbor lights tour.

Read their site & heed their advice, and depending on the time of year plan to be chilly on the water. It drizzled and was pretty cold on the way back; they did provide ponchos and blankets but bring an extra jacket and you'll be glad you did.

Their website doesn't mention anything about gratuity, which I wish it did - they will accept tips at the end, and they deserve them. Cat was a great tour guide pointing out sites, and factoids for us along the way. Her crew was funny, kept our drinks full, and even snapped multiple pictures for us.

Highly, highly recommend!
