Don't waste your money here. Our A/C stopped working and Clarke & Rush was the only company that would come out for an emergency call. We were told it would be $125 for the after hour visit. We agreed.
Zack the technician told me that the pricing would not go towards any repairs done to the unit. Again, we agreed. He then came back and told us that the A/C would need a new motor $857, a compressor motor start $149, a cf motor start $149, a compressor saver kit $269 (which he said was not necessary to get the the A/C up today). I previously worked at an HVAC company and know that the pricing is extremely high. When I asked him about it, Zack replied that all costs were industry standard. When I told him that I know that the motor doesn't cost that much, he says that the pricing comes from having to order the part, pick it up, and come back to the house for installation. This all makes sense, but to charge 6 times the amount for the part is insane!! I told him it doesn't even cost more than $500 to get a new motor in Hawai'i which has to import all their parts on top of the ordering, picking up, and return visit. He replied again, it is industry standard, but that's Hawai'i. I'm sorry. If it is industry standard that all A/C companies would have roughly the same cost, and Hawai'i is still a part of the industry, even if it isn't a part of the continental US.
Overall, Clarke & Rush will steal all of your money and send you a tech that doesn't know anything about the "industry standard," nor do they care that they're taking all your money.
