Our attic needed more insulation so we contacted Clark and Rush. We were thoroughly impressed with the service we received. Technicians Arthur Rivera and Tim St. Clair called and texted to let us know their time of arrival. Arthur explained the process of what needed to be done and answered my questions. They were very pleasant, professional and neat. They protected my furniture and flooring and cleaned up afterwards.
This was our first time using Clark & Rush and we are very pleased with the service we received. Thanks to technicians like Arthur and Tim, we will definitely refer Clark and Rush to others and we use them again ourselves.

Geordan White arrived on time, had lots of experie...

Geordan White arrived on time, had lots of experience with the type of ceiling entrance to the attic to check the unit. It is a bit tricky and he was the first person who knew how to do it without being told the tricks. He was very professional and I appreciated his expertise. I will request him to do the twice-yearly checks in the future.

Needed new AC/heating. Called Clarke and Rush, spoke with Julie who wanted to expedite my request since I didn't have AC and Mark was sent out to evaluate and give me a bid. Very thorough and easy to work with, not to mention, the best price by far out of 3 bids.
Today, Luke along with Matt and George came to install my new system. Very professional, worked well together, great explanations of what was happening by Luke throughout the project.
I highly recommend Clarke and Rush and Luke's team went above and beyond excellent service...thank you to all.

Clarke and Rush have done a great job with install...

Clarke and Rush have done a great job with installing and now maintaining our HVAC system. They remind me about maintenance and are easy to schedule with. Also, their technicians are always polite, timely, knowledgeable and pleasant. I definitely recommend them!

We have been with Clark and Rush for over 10 years...

We have been with Clark and Rush for over 10 years, 2 AC's and a hot water heater. Recently we had a problem that originated with the installation of our HVAC 2 years ago. Clark and Rush staff took immediate ownership of the issue and remedied the situation for us with courtesy and respect.

I had not planned to rate Clark and Rush. They requested this...My technician was unable to diagnose the specific issue with my heater. His suggestion was to replace several components which would likely be expensive or replace the entire unit. I would have to wait for two days to get a quote, despite no heat in my house.

I called another company who came immediately and diagnosed the issue in 10 minutes. He laughed at my previous diagnosis and fixed the issue for $120. I will never use Clark and Rush again.

6 months ago,I had a complete remove and replace of my HVAC system, the cost was half of what other HVAC companies wanted. The professionalism and quality of service was excellent, no complaints. The follow up service has been outstanding. Before having other HVAC companies vie for your work, call Clark and Rush, you won't be disappointed.

We contacted Clark and Rush for a bid to replace our aging HVAC three weeks in advance. We own the home that needed work but live out of the area. Appointment day/time was very important. We received a call the night before asking if they could show up either the day before or the day after we were scheduled. We insisted we have someone there during our scheduled time. They showed up 30 minutes late and were very comfortable with trying to make us feel guilty for the salesman missing a christening in the bay area. He spent less than ten minutes selling his product and didn't look in our attic to assess the potential installation. This was a serious red flag and probably indicated that we would be hit with surprise charges if/when we had them complete the job. Everyone else delivered a bid on the spot, we waited until the next day for the salesman to leave the bid on our doorstep. Not impressed. These antics may work for some people. I'm not trusting you with tens of thousands of dollars for work.

After posting this initial review on Yelp, Pat Rush attempted to contact me. This was the result:

After a few attempts of trying to contact me, Pat Rush decided to send me a voicemail that I feel was pretty inappropriate. Life has been hectic and responding to Mr. Rush has been a very low priority for my wife and I. Below you will find the transcribed voicemail (thank you Apple) and my email response to Mr. Rush.

This was the voicemail:

"Yeah Michael Lawless Pat Rush with Clark and Rush mechanical. I tried to communicate with you with for a number of times here can't get a hold of you uh would like to talk to you I have reviewed everything that was said on Yelp and there were lots of inconsistencies that are there I would like to talk to you uh I feel that what you're saying is not correct and I have my law that I can live with. if you want me to go that way great um I would rather communicate um if I see that yelp still on the board uh then my next call will be a little different"

This message is for Pat Rush:

"Mr. Rush, I received your calls. However, with everything that is taking place in my life at the moment, the Yelp review I left for your company is NOT a priority for me. I clearly stated the facts and I we are now past the point of graceful resolve. Now that you have used threatening language in your contact, I no longer feel comfortable talking to you. We chose another company to give our business to. Your salesman was lacking professionalism and skill. I have no further business with you or your company and I will not submit to your bullying. Your company has work to do and you need to understand that customers are won with respect, courtesy, professionalism, and tact, not defensiveness and bullying. As for Yelp, this is our (the customer's) forum to express concern, anger, frustration, pleasure, or gratefulness. I hope my post has aided others in making their decision. Good luck with business and I wish you the best."

Jenifer alerted me by phone that tech., Sergio, was en route. He arrived promptly as scheduled, and was very thorough and professional. He cleaned leaves out of the AC condenser and answered all my questions about programming the thermostat.

They came out to fix a few things on my newly purc...

They came out to fix a few things on my newly purchased home. It s a fixer upper and honestly don t know the last time the HVAC unit was serviced. They were able to come to my home within 24 hours, gave a fair estimate and completed the work quickly. They did such a wonderful job I had them come back for a few plumbing issues my home was also having. I love that this company offers a full service of home repair. Will definitely use in the future. Thank you!

We have been using Clarke and Rush ever since they...

We have been using Clarke and Rush ever since they replaced our heating and AC system around 2001. That system was still running fine, but due to its age we decided to replace it C&R technician's arrived on time the day of installation and immediately went to work. They discovered a few problems with the new equipment and immediately fixed them to my great satisfaction. The technicians were very courteous and friendly. We are now living in a very comfortable home and look forward to many carefree years with our new system.The old system was Carrier and it was replaced by the same.

We had our Furnace checked prior to using this winter. C&R called prior to his arrival to let us know he was on the way. Clark and Rush sent a very professional technician who arrived on time. The technician inspected and tested our furnace for proper operation, he also inspected our air ducts for any leaks or damage. When he was done he cleaned up after himself and explained what he did and the results of his testing. We are all set for this winter and look forward to Clark & Rush checking out air conditioner for Spring and Summertime weather!

Justin, Luke and Erik were great! They installed a new system while I was catching up on sleep after a late night of unpacking. They were really respectful to not interrupt me without good cause and made the entire experience painless. They even realized that one of the procedures they were contracted to do was unecessaay and worked with me to skip it and save money off the original quoted price. Then at the end they went out of their way to go over the paperwork and made the SMUD rebate eeasy. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Got a very fast appointment to repair two leaking showers in our park restrooms. With a big weekend coming up it was important that the leaks were repaired before the anticipated heavy usage. Robert was able to make both repairs very quickly and left the site clean and ready for use by the residents in our association.

solved and fixed the problem in record time. He left everything in great shape.
Robert is a very sharp and considerate technician and quite pleasant to welcome into my home.

Clarke & Rush put a new heating and air conditioning system in our home. From the time that we called to set up the free estimate to the time that we had it installed, they were nothing but professional. They explained everything in great detail, showed up on time, cleaned up, and followed up. We also have used their repair service for a home that we rented and they were great there too. Thank you!

We needed to replace our 25 year old HVAC system. ...

We needed to replace our 25 year old HVAC system. We found them via a Google search and Clark and Rush was one of the few (maybe the only company) that offered an instant online quote. The web site was easy to use and we obtained a ballpark quote. I was expecting my phone to ring within 5 minutes of getting the quote, but it was actually a few days before someone called. So right from the start it was a pressure free experience.

We set up an appointment and Mark Thyme came out and got the necessary details. Mark is a mechanical engineer and is well versed on all aspects of HVAC systems, he is not a typical salesperson. He was very professional, low-key, with no pressure whatsoever. He dropped off the quote in person the following day.

Of the three quotes we received, Clark and Rush was in the middle pricewise and we went with their company based on the Carrier brand which is highly rated, and the highly positive Google and Yelp reviews. The company is also one of a handful of local companies that have access to a financing option through the state of California called a REEL loan (Residential Energy Efficient Loan). These loans have rates starting at 5.99 APR with terms up to 15 years. That process was very straight-forward and this program alone is a huge plus for anyone who needs to finance the purchase of an HVAC system.

Today, the installation team of Billy (lead installer), Clayton, and Matt arrived as promised promptly at 7:30 AM. They were extremely courteous, professional, hard-working, clean, and were wearing masks. They worked straight through and completed the job before 2:00 PM. Billy did a great job of explaining the entire system and walking us through the new Honeywell control system. Overall, a great installation experience.

The unit itself is very quiet, and visually appealing as well. C and R provides a two-year labor warranty, as well as two visits during the first year for system tune-ups.

We look forward to this system providing many years of comfort and we highly recommend Clark and Rush.

I had Clarke and Rush install a new heating/air conditioner combo unit 4 years ago. They had the best price and I was happy with the install. So because my A/C was not cooling as efficiently this season as it had been in the past 3 years, I just signed up for their yearly maintenance plan and a technician came out to do maintenance, cleaning and inspection of my unit. So far so good. But I was shocked to learn that I had a refrigerant leak and likely needed a new evaporation coil, not due to any fault of the company, but I was unprepared for the considerable expense this would entail, so I needed some time to think about it. A couple of days later, I called to get a quote for the entire cost of the part and labor sent to me by email, or even a return phone call, and was told my request would be sent to the service manager and that I would hear back from him. Well, I tried calling three more times over the next couple of days and still zero response. I have another company lined up now to do this work and they have provided me with tons of information surrounding the issue. They seemed to care and seemed more professional. They also have excellent reviews. Sorry, Clarke and Rush...you don t want my business and that suits me fine.

Ray with Clarke & Rush quickly found the problem with my air condition (blown capacitor). He didn t try and tell me I needed a whole new system like seen on those NBC Dateline shows. He told me how to clean my system and about preventive maintenance to help keep my 25 year old system going. He provided information for a replacement system should it become necessary in the future; a more efficient system and competitive pricing. But in no way did he tell me I need it now. I appreciated his honesty.

Rusty and his crew installed our new heat and air systems in about 4 hours! they were amazing, neat, timely, clean, professional and considerate of our time and space.
LOVE Clarke & Rush and will highly recommend.

Two days after this install, Brian Seiler and Aaron installed our insulation. They
also were neat, professional, timely and courteous. Both installers cleaned up after themselves and answered our questions.

Love Clarke and Rush!!!!

Don't waste your money here. Our A/C stopped worki...

Don't waste your money here. Our A/C stopped working and Clarke & Rush was the only company that would come out for an emergency call. We were told it would be $125 for the after hour visit. We agreed.

Zack the technician told me that the pricing would not go towards any repairs done to the unit. Again, we agreed. He then came back and told us that the A/C would need a new motor $857, a compressor motor start $149, a cf motor start $149, a compressor saver kit $269 (which he said was not necessary to get the the A/C up today). I previously worked at an HVAC company and know that the pricing is extremely high. When I asked him about it, Zack replied that all costs were industry standard. When I told him that I know that the motor doesn't cost that much, he says that the pricing comes from having to order the part, pick it up, and come back to the house for installation. This all makes sense, but to charge 6 times the amount for the part is insane!! I told him it doesn't even cost more than $500 to get a new motor in Hawai'i which has to import all their parts on top of the ordering, picking up, and return visit. He replied again, it is industry standard, but that's Hawai'i. I'm sorry. If it is industry standard that all A/C companies would have roughly the same cost, and Hawai'i is still a part of the industry, even if it isn't a part of the continental US.

Overall, Clarke & Rush will steal all of your money and send you a tech that doesn't know anything about the "industry standard," nor do they care that they're taking all your money.

I had a seasonal check up on my new HVAC system I purchased in February in 2017 from Clark and Rush. I had been very satisfied with the system and happy with the Service I received up to the point where the service technician mentioned that I must have requested the brand I purchased because it is not his favorite. He went on to say a few other comments and I tried to redirect him as to not disparage national brands his company carries. After spending close to 10k I felt a bit let down and not as confident in the company as I did prior to his visit. On the other hand all my phone inteactions with company have been excellent.
