I have been a Hollywood resident since 1992. The Hollywood Police Department is unprofessional. Lack of real law enforcement in the City has greatly contributed to its decline. The HPD should be disbanded, let BSO take it over.
Today I experienced the worse taste in my mouth ever of law enforcement. Words can t describe how I felt today, all thank you to the Hollywood police department. A police officer shoved me for no reason into my wife and when I asked him why would he do that his response was do you want me to push you again all in front of my close friends and family. Not only was I embarrassed I felt like I had no choice but to look away because with this guys attitude the only result was to get arrested or get shot. I own a property in Hollywood and after today I truly regret it and do not want to raise my family in this city. This police department has the most incompetent officers and I hope everyone reads this. The city of Hollywood needs to have better selection in who they hire as cops. I am truly let down and will share this horrible experience with everyone I know.

They've been coming to my house for years harassing me based on false claims that my mom makes about my mental health. They've continually showed up to harrases me and exploit me based on my vulnerability . But I'm starting to record them and post the videos on YouTube. Check them out. I recently posted one about what looked to be like a rookie sent out to my moms house to tell me I'm schizophrenic and was reported as missing. The nerve of this idiot. Serve and protect? I don't think so, more like hassle and harrass.
Everyone s experience with everything and everyone is subjective; it depends on the individual cop, or cops plural, and how you act or react. Even with a pending criminal accusation that involved a firearm, the Hollywood cop was nothing but respectful. He could have broke my balls about it. The cop was young, muscular, with sleeve tattoos, he ran my ID, he knew of the pending charge but it changed nothing. He helped me with my smashed out car window and the other car in my lot that had his smashed out as well. Hollywood PD has been nothing but helpful and nice. We talked while the crime scene investigation division was on the way, he even brought up the charge in conversation and was cool with me saying I d rather wait to talk about it after my case has a judgement. The cop assumed my innocence, because it hasn t made its way through the system, instead of treating me like I was guilty. Please don t collectivize the Hollywood PD if you had a bad experience with only one or two of them, I m sure there s some bad cops in that bunch. But that s everywhere and in every group. The cop I met and the other I spoke to on the phone, were calm cool collected and not looking to provoke a bad situation.

Hello, I am a YouTuber with almost 100,000 subscribers. I have numerous videos documenting this but I thought I should leave a review for the people of Hollywood, Florida.
May 18th 2017 3 Police officers came into my house when I was 13 at the time, now 14. They broke my bedroom door down while I was using the restroom without clothing on. The man proceeded to scream at me through the door and got out a tool to attempt to pick the lock with when I told him I didn't have clothing on. He kept screaming at me to "hurry up." I was so scared to be targeted by a 40+ year old man that I started crying and hyperventilating. I was home alone with my grandmother at the time and had no man in the house to protect me. I ended up leaving the bathroom in a shirt and underwear feeling exposed and vulnerable.
I cried while pleading to put shorts on and the man screamed "no" at me 4 times while looking my body up and down. I didn't know what to do and why I was being denied of clothes but this was only the beginning.
I thought if I couldn't have underwear on, I at least wanted my shoes. The man said no with a very stern and domineering look on his face.
What happened was a guy located in Poland swatted me. He basically made a false call to the Police making up a story that would alert them to come to my house. They did not look into it at all.
When I tried explaining the story I was screamed at for crying which made it even worse. Long story short, they chose not to believe me. I was forcefully brought into my bedroom and pushed up against this man in my underwear and was fondled while being handcuffed. He put them on way to tight to the point where they were digging into my skin.
There was also a man with a flashlight who I don't remember the name of but he attempted to go through my personal computer's history, a Macbook Pro which I paid for with money from my job as a YouTuber.
As he left my room he purposefully knocked over my basket of clean, just washed laundry to be a scummy person who wanted to hurt me in any way possible because that was his fun.
I was then brought outside exposed in my underwear. My grandmother rushed over with a pair of shorts and slid them on me. It was very humiliating but the officers seemed to love every second of it.
I asked for help getting into the Police van. (Why was I, a little girl handcuffed and being treated like a criminal when I've never committed a crime in my life?)
I was once again denied and was forced to jump into the van. I bruised my arm because it hit up against the metal in the process of getting into the car while handcuffs were digging into my skin.
In the car comments were made that made me very uncomfortable. In my head I was freaking out but I had to keep a calm demeanor because I was scared of the two armed men who seemed to have power over me.
I was told that "if I were normal I would've found his partner," another male officer in his late 30's-early 40's "cute/attractive." I was disgusted.
We eventually made it to my local hospital. "Hospital?" I wondered. Why a hospital? The car door was opened and I jumped out. I was so humiliated. My hair was unbrushed, I was in extremely short shorts that kept riding up exposing me, aggressively handcuffed and I was barefoot, forced to walk on the hot ground covered in garbage and old chewed up pieces of gum. All while people in cars passing by, staring, laughing at me.
I was brought inside and the man who assaulted me filled out a police report saying I "threw a fit with hysteria" after being questioned about something "I'd done." He also tried diagnosing me with Bi-polar disorder, Depression and "Mania" which Isn't even a mental disorder but a side effect of a mental disorder.
I was forced to stay in a Psych Unit for 4 days against my will. The doctor was even confused as to why I was there.
Shortly after my stay there I posted a video about it and their boss saw it and actually came to my house in fear that I'd take legal actions. He called their actions "unprofessional" and brushed off all of my claims.
Hollywood Police ARE THE LARGEST ORGANIZATION OF INEPTITUDE and morons with no REAL career because being a moron jock and bully left them no option BUT FAT, UNFIT FOR DUTY. RATS for a living while 70 percent of them break laws on my cam all day.

I went to file a report about my brother who was murdered as a result of fentynl poisoning,and we were told,"We are not going to investigate this,when I asked why not,there is a law ,"It's a 2nd degree manslaughter charge in Florida,"I was told a 2nd time "We we're not going to investigate it !'The female behind the front desk was very rude,cold and uncaring in my opinion.

Well when they were sent to a domestic violence incident early yesterday morning from a man and a woman I happen to be in the house the man and the woman left me there and I was a victim and the police handcuffed me and put me in their car. Before that she threw me to the ground twice. I told her I have a fracture in my back of my back spine and fractures in both hip plus I'm a very hyper. I told her I'm under a doctor psychiatrist care. I am prescriptions for. I told her that it. But that didn't stop her she handcuffed me and put me down the ground I went to stand up a little bit cuz because I told her I was in pain and she threw me back down to the ground you really have to understand this was never about me I just happen to be the only one there the two that caused all the chaos we're gone unbelievable I'm still in shock I'm hurting I have bruises all over me and I did nothing she told me to stop talking to her. I was trying to explain why I was and what was going on and what happened and she told me if I didn't shut up she's going to duct tape my mouth..... so if anybody thinks they're good people...you are terribly sick in the head more than I am!!!
Racial profiling. Tried to stop me outside of IHOP and when they had nothing they told me I wasn't allowed in any IHOP anywhere in the United States. So now they're federal apparently LOL. Not only unprofessional but completely retarded.

Don't ever have a domestic situation if you're a woman in Hollywood. The officers will scream at you and act as though you're wasting their time. Officer said he was screaming because he was Cuban... Really?? He was condescending and basically told me he didn't believe me, then attempted to intimidate me. Finally he became dismissive and basically blew me off and wrote a report just to go through the motions. Thanks officer J.B. badge # 3432 "the Cuban one". Officers like him make women not want to call the police. I only wanted to follow the law and protect myself, but because the officer thought my husband acted "cool" ( he said that) he was already biased. He prejudged the situation based on my husband pretending to be cool and cooperative in front of the police. And the police officer made a smart comment to me as well further proving his bias. Sensitivity training needed. Personal opinions about peoples marriages not needed. Wow, unbelievable. Very unprofessional.

I spent over an hour at their Bldg an finally talked to a superior who promised they would be out at 5pm. Needless to say no one showed up.
When I called back today the dispatcher told me I misunderstood the officer (remember I m dumb). So she got very curt and rude with me and nastily said I ll send someone out. Do I need to tell you what happened next? I guess I m walking to the police dept again tomorrow! Serve and protect who? Certainly not me.

They took 2 hours to show up just for walking distance from their department to where I was as shown in the picture. And after 2 hours when call them back, they said somebody canceled my report. I have to wait another 2 hours probably. They don't care.
While the job of a police officers is challenging at best, HPD officers for the most part are fair and impartial. This being said, organization and preparation is lacking to say the least. The new lane changes (yet again) on A1A are welcome, and even though traffic is more than horrendous, the HPD sees fit to desert the area for peak traffic times when they should be assisting motorists with traffic flow (directing) and onsite highly visible multiple units. By this, I mean that there should ALWAYS be a unit visible during off-peak times, and several during peak times. Not just when the officers feel like showing up, or a complaint of dangerous driving activity is called in. Get on the job, officers. HQ: Get some organization. Stop the speeding in turn lanes by impatient dangerous drivers...stop the passing of other multiple vehicles in turn lanes and construction lanes. Those of us who are forced to cross do experience courteous drivers who will stop to allow crossing...while other drivers speed up to either scare pedestrians or just act like idiots.
The whole point it...more policing is required..not just requested...required an demanded by residents of the beach. HPD needs to react before another person is injured or killed....which will cause a huge lawsuit against HPD for breach of fiduciary duty.
Please don't wait for this to happen...please organize a proper plan of attack and get on it.

Your officers shouldn't yap about laws when they're clueless. I went to Morningstar Jewelers to see if I could get an unmarked ring stamped after getting it tested and confirmed that it was 18k gold. I googled on-line and found out a jeweler can stamp an unmarked ring once they confirm it's authenticity. So I go to Morningstar and asked the guy at the front if they provide that service and he said no one does that and it's considered fraud. Even the black police officer doing a detail said it's illegal. So I asked can I get the ring tested at least and he advised me to go to the back and they will check it. As I was walking away he makes some comments to a customer and I hear them laughing at me. (Nice way to treat your customers bozo). Anyways, the guy in the back checked the ring and confirmed it was 18k but said they don't stamp but some jewelers do. I told him what the cop and the guy at the front said and he said it's not illegal and some jewelers do hammer stamp marks once they confirm it's real. He told me Jewelry Depot at Oakwood Plaza might do it. So I go to Jewelry Depot and I spoke with Lillian and she tested it and said not only can they stamp it, it's COMPLETELY LEGAL. So there you have it. The smartass idiot at the front and the cop don't even know they're laws and he works at a jewelry store? The cop should be embarrassed. LMAO! Oh wait I forgot Morningstar's not a reputable jeweler. You guys deserve -5 stars.

Nice officer arrived when my car was broken into at around 6sm. Apparently he stated...this is a very common event in our neighborhood. I showed him what was obvious fingerprints on the side door. They don t dust for situations like this. Guess you have to be murdered in order for Some investigative work to be done. Not asking for a lot, just have Prints & my neighbors Security Camera that caught the guys and even the white car they were in. So why is there NO OFFICE driving through at these hours?? I have insomnia and I am up at all times, during the night and morning hours. Been living here for over a year and have NEVER, EVER seen a police car patrolling this neighborhood.

One of the worse police department I have had to deal with in a long time. The staff is rude and disrespectful. A police report was filed about a month ago and they have yet to produce a copy of it. Every single time i have taken the time out of my schedule to walk in and attempt to get a copy I have been met with a different story. I am now filing a freedom of information request, lets see if they want to play games with that.
I would give them zero stars if I could ! I called the non-emergency line to ask if they had a safe-trade zone and the dispatcher handling the call was rude and not helpful at all. She seemed annoyed that I called and had no clue what I was talking about. They have these at other police stations in Florida, how do you not know about it? How do you treat people with such disrespect for no reason? This is not the first time I have had a bad experience with the Hollywood police department either. To SERVE and protect my arse! You can also tell that the 5 star reviews are from people that work there or are family members of the personnel that work there, its quite sad that they go to those lengths to try to make themselves look better.How about you actually do your jobs and have some compassion and maybe you won't get so many negative reviews!

On July 4th Hollywood Police are horrible on directing traffic. They closed N Ocean drive north bound for no reason what so ever. We just spent 2:30 hours coming back from Walmart in Hallandale Blvd to our hotel 2.6 miles away. Completely ridiculous and unnecessarily. We respectfully asked an officer and was extremely rude, unprofessional, & disrespectful to us. THE WORST POLICE DEPARTMENT!!!!!

At 3:32am I was stop for an issue about my tag, it has a cover and the officer adviced me that he was stopping me due to him not being able to see my tag clearly, due to the cover, the initial officer i spoke to was very professional, I handed him my information and he came back to give me my info back and allowed me to go with no ticket or anything. Everything was good until then as I'm getting my car into drive the officer that was on the other side of the vehicle asked me for a second time where I was going after dropping off my girl. At that point I felt something was really wrong with the officer questioning me about why I had a dashcam in my car, and where I was going after my girl's house I felt like was really out of line asking me those personal questions. I told him I didnt want to answer that and his question were making me uncomfortable, he then prosided to antagonize me for a reaction like he wanted me to get angry so that it would give him a reason to become physical. That is my reason why I dont like most officer in this department you need to find the bad apples and get rid of them cause you need the city on your side not against you. I was able to get his name but that officer needs to be retrained and have an attitude check as a veteran of the army I gave him more respect than him to me.9

My girlfriend was stopped for no reason, and was harassed for 45 minutes in heavy traffic. The two cowardly officers kept intimidating her until she let them search the car, tried to arrest her for having Bayer aspirin loose on the floorboard, then made her cry and beg them not to arrest her. They laughed to each other and one said he could have gotten her to submit to "anything" if he tried a little bit harder. You people are scum!
They have a beautiful memorial outside dedicated to the fallen law enforcement officers that work in the department. Too many police stations do not honor or rather the city doesn't put out the money for the memorials. We should never forget
