Is there a grander symbol of the rise of Austin as the fastest growing American city than the construction of this racetrack and the hosting of the annual U.S. Grand Prix Formula One race?

Went and saw the Austin Bold FC. The stadium and surrounding area are nice, and although they crowd was small by MLS standards, the atmosphere was great. It was cool for my kids to be up close to the action too. The first row is less than about 10 feet from the sideline. While it can be a bit of a trek out there, I definitely recommend this for any Austin soccer fan.
Still an outstanding track for racing but overpriced beer, parking and other issues make this a tough track for fans. I first went here 6 years ago and they haven't improved much in the area of getting around the track, you have to hike mostly on gravel trails. Oh and don't try to bring a bottle of water or a cookie through the gate otherwise they'll confiscate it. Why? So you can pay for the $12 beers inside.
I have been to COA many times, but never for a race. I speak simply for festivals and concert events. Its a great place, lots of space! Water filling stations available, different varieties of food. Only complaint is about the prices...
Poor training of event staff and organization of shuttles. The facility itself is amazing but CoTA could benefit from some ACL Festival expertise.
A fun but busy place. We go for the formula 1 race, annually. My only qualm this year was that the event was terribly understaffed. The restrooms were in complete disarray all weekend and there was hardly ever any staff to be found anywhere.
I enjoyed my experience at COTA to watch the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge. I was lucky to meet friendly staff and enjoyed the Corral Pass and parade laps on the track. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk to different grandstands and if you have some binoculars bring them. Turn 15, Turn 1 and the main grandstands have great seats. Paddock area is a great to look at all the teams and cars.
Logistical nightmare, the venue is not set up for ease of use. It took over 40 minutes to use the rest room and about the same to get a drink. For the ladies, do not wear heels, there are loose gravel paths you have to walk on. Traveled from out of state to see a concert at this venue and it was very disappointing and expensive to Uber/Lyft too. Be aware you will be price gouged on your return ride. There was a 320% mark up for prime hours.
Classic location, amazing track. Karting course is an awesome way to spend an afternoon!
F1 2019 Great experience altogether except a few small flaws IMO.
1. Nobody asked for our tickets for the Saturday evening Pink concert and I'm almost positive that many people entered for free.
I feel slight robbed at $80-each.
2. There were not enough marshalls directing the event traffic in and out of the event.
3.The speakers weren't working at all in turn 12 stands and was unable to hear ANY of the commentators and the National anthem.
That was disappointing. Apart from that the whole venue was AWESOME.Definitly back again
It was hot and crowded, has to walk along ways from parking to amphitheatre. Carlos Santana made it all worth it. Heading back out to Mary J. In the heat of August.
Will be driving 2016 Hot Rod PowerTour at the track on June 13th. Watch out for BUICK turbo Grand National Black of course. Yo TX!
I went for MotoGP. Parking was easy with motorcycle. The track is great. There are great views all around it. The merchants and facilities are spaced well.
First impressions, great track layout to watch any racing event in any area of the track. Went to see rally cross for the first time and had a great day watching the pro drivers maneuver around the dirt/asphalt course. Will go again for other racing venues.
Formula 1, MotoGP, RallyX, Indy cars, track days, vintage races, go-karts, oh my! This is my Mecca. A world class facility in our backyard!!!
Great experience at the karting track. We had a blast. We also hit up their Christmas light drive through and got to drive on the actual track. All in all it was an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend this place for the whole family.
Amazingly nice facilities. Good food, clean garages, incredible racing surface. The most fun you can have on your car.
Great place to see concerts. Not a bad seat in the house
I have travelled from Seattle for 4 Moto GP races and 2 F1 races and am amazed at the incredible racing and Hospitality. A true world class venue . The food is actually good and the staff is great.
Workers always respectful spectator's always patient and nice.
Went to watch the Ferrari challenge and had a great time! Go karts are open almost year round and events happen all the time!
All feel free to pedal your way around the legendary track on Tuesday evenings!
Nice track but too many forbidden stuffs (water biscuits selfie stick...my girl's underwears for soon or what ?)
Very nice Christmas set up. A little pricey for admission. Add food, rides, ice skating, petting zoo, carnival games and this can really bust your Christmas and New Year's budget - especially if there's more than 1 person. Plenty of Christmas cheer in the heated bud light tent.
Visited the Wonderland Lights event and I was pleasantly surprised ah how original the displays were. Not entirely your topical elf s and choo choo trains, they had amazing displays. Highly recommend everyone to visit. Fair price of $15 not bad at all. The staff were also very friendly.
Parking was fast, shuttle rides, getting around was easy. Food was a little pricey, but what can you do? I'd come back again to watch the MotoGP
Had a blast with BMW Track Days!
1/2 day of thrilled speed driving and fun.
Great food, recommend visit.
Had a wonderful experience here. Was here for US formula one grad prix
Sad memories we are pilots and something happened that nobody was deceiving, for the rest the track the car services organization order infrastructure EXCELLENT THANKS FOR THE HOSPITALITY ,,,,, BMW PILOTS !!!!!! THANKS 1000
Track is fun and challenging. I paid for three races and for one race I had a kart that performed really well. For the other two races my kart was the opposite and felt like it was significantly slower and about to fall apart. It was a really fun experience overall, the only downside being the inconsistencies among the karts.
Amenities have gotten a lot better over the years. Keep in mind that there aren't many places to get out of the sun. The bigger parking lots are all dirt, so your car might get stuck if it has been raining.
We have been to the MotoGP races here every year since they have started. There is not much affordable food out there, and the amenities are also lacking. We enjoy the races, but lots of times the track staff and event setup are not good.
The weather was unforgiving but still a great event
Big space..needs more lights. A lot of walking; golf carts for handicapped would be nice.
Great track, fun events. I have been here for the BP Ms 150. Amazing determination of riders. I have been to a Queens of the stone Age show and it was probably the best show I have seen them do. They have track days where you can take you car on the track and where else in Texas will you see MotoGP and Formula one. Amazing Place with amazing events. Oh, but parking sucks :P
2013 With temperatures in the 80 s and 90 s on F1 race day, there was no shade inside the Circuit of the Americas venue for most fans. Not even cover for the $350+ grandstand seats, which we understood were brought in temporarily for the F1. You could bring in a folding chair & a sealed bottle of water, but nothing else to eat or drink. No mist tents or drinking water fountains, & no buildings with air conditioning to duck into. $4.50 for a 20-oz bottle of water, with $10 corn dogs & beers. That was the cheapest option for lunch; the cost went up from there. No real restrooms in a building: only marginally maintained portable toilets with no wash stations or Purell. Yuck bring your own wet wipes/toilet paper. None of the vendors offered shade/buildings/tents/seating for customers either. Merchandising was out of trailers or open air stands without cover. Souvenirs were outrageous: a ball cap with a team logo was going for $60, shirts for $50-$200+. A program was $35. We grudgingly bought a couple of corn dogs & waters for lunch on race day, but they didn t sell us a darn thing else. It has an avaricious feel. Walkways between the grandstands we could see from the 11th turn were mostly pasture-land grass & dirt. The trek through the raceway was a hot, sweaty march for miles with overall insufficient shuttle service from golf carts. Parking shuttles (Parking is $60 per day) had long lines This venue seems unfinished, poorly planned, and is consumer unfriendly.
Tons of parking but it's kind of out in the middle of nowhere so Lyft or Uber is a great alternative be careful though prices can get pretty high when it's a Big Show or a big concert going on. make sure to call or text your driver it's easier to find them in parking lot H is where you find the shared-ride drivers.
Our very own Formula 1 track and host of massive events like Cirque de Soleil. CoTA is the pride and joy of East Austin and a solid investment in the future of Austin s international/national prevalence.
It is an excellent venue for Cars and Coffee. It is car people in a car location. They even had go karts to ride and food and drink available. I will be at the next one for sure.
This place is awesome. I've watched many races here on the tv, but nothing is quite like stopping by. Yesterday I was coming back from Austin from visiting my sister, and saw the sign on the highway. I thought it would be a quick fun detour just to see the facility and get back on the road. Little did I know o was in for the best day I've had all year. The security guard at the main entrance was friendly and told me what was going on. It was a track day/practice session for a NASA (not the space one) race series, and he said go check it out. And it was free to walk around the pits! I know this wouldn't happen on a regular race day, but it was awesome. The staff and the marshals were all super friendly, and willing to answer any questions you may have. The drivers were all cool too! They loves talking about there cars to anyone who would listen. It was awesome to stand in the pit lanes and hear the cars flying past the straight. And the best part, I'd when they announced the parade lap (and it was free too)! They let all spectators take a spin on the track behind the safety car to get a glimpse of what the track was like! Best experience ever! You can't appreciate the complexity of the track from photos on the internet, or watching it on TV. You have to go and see it in person if your a race fan, and in the area. It doesn't have to be a special event like a F1 race just to visit, although I bet that is amazing to see. I WILL be back for a major event, like F1 and/or MotoGP. They even have awesome looking RV parking right next to the track! I may do that when I go so I can experience everything. on my way out, the same security guard I saw when I entered was still there, he flagged me down, and wanted to know if I had a good time. I could barely put into words my experience. I thanked him for giving me the info, and headed back to Houston. If you have made it this far, all I am saying is....VISIT THIS AWESOME PLACE!
Decent venue for large events. Being open air causes minor issues that are weather based. Parking is ample, but it is placed in the next town over. Lol. They do offer a tram if you're patient enough to wait on it. There are also a ton of bike rickshaw workers but they are priced very high and after the expected tip can easily cost more than the ticket for whichever show you are there to see.
IT IS A SHAME that is the second year that I am going to see F1 and have not improved the parking and the facilities where one walks inside the premises to go to the stands when it rains is full of mud (mud, mud) when walking one has to bring rain boots and this 2018 also pay the parking for the lot "T" and left us out because there was not enough room for the rain, again the same ...
THE ORGANIZERS AND / OR CONSEQUENT ARE NOT AT THE HEIGHT OF THIS INTERNATIONAL SHOW AS IT IS THE F1! DO NOT INVEST IN THE FACILITIES FOR AN EVENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE.
"BY JUST PUTTING MORE STORE IN THE WHOLE PARKING AREA AND IN THE STREETS WHERE PEOPLE WALK, WHETHER OR WITHIN THE PROPERTY OR IN THE PARKING AREA (LOTE T) FOR A FEW THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, THE RESET OF THE INTATIONS WILL BE DISSATISFIED .. FURTHERMORE SHOULD HAVE IN EVERY AREA OF DEGREES FIXED BATHS AND NOT JUST CHEMICAL BATHS THAT FOR THAT ONE PAY EXTRA ALSO.
IN ADDITION THE PRICES OF BEVERAGES AND MEALS ARE ABUSIVE ... VERY BAD, VERY BAD.
THE SHOW IN YES, IS MAGNIFICENT !!!
I DO NOT THUS THE SERVICE AND THE ATTENTION TO THE PUBLIC ... IT IS UNLIKELY !!!!
It's a race track. You can watch racing here. It is very large.
We love the Christmas lights and can't wait to see what theme they're going to be doing next! COTA is amazing all the time but when it's Christmas time I haven't experienced anything else much better than them!
Enjoyed the practice, qualifying, and races on Saturday and Sunday. MotoGP, Moto 2, and Moto 3 all very entertaining. Fast pace scheduling. Action on the track almost constantly. Parking area was a victim of heavy morning rains on Saturday so it was a bit messy, but we could deal with it. Some grounds also muddy, but not terrible. Much better on Sunday. Great views from many locations. Good selection of food and drinks. Crowds seemed very involved and enthusiastic. Great action. Will be back next year.
Great show, very nice facilities and concerned about every detail. I liked that a lot
