It's the only F1 in the US but COTA is a great spectator track. General Admission viewing is very good and this year the Masters Historic and F4 paddocks were open. Nice touch to see older cars up close.

We Love this place! World Class Race Track in our backyard...though it is out in the country, easy to get to. It is a Large facility so expect long walks once inside (depending on seating). All the staff and volunteers are Very nice and helpful.
If they're going to sell track day events they have to make a better effort to make the place accommodating. Tuesday after MotoGP and there was a mess everywhere, the parking lot had semi trucks and cranes, it was a big mess. The track itself is outrageously good. I do see what the pros are complaining about though, those bumps can be scary on a powerful motorcycle.
AWESOME!! How can you go wrong with F1 and Lewis winning! The layout of the concessions and general admission areas was very good. Traffic in and out is a bit of a slow go, but overall a fabulous time!
Awesome venue for concerts, especially during the hot months. Bring a hat and stay hydrated! I forgot how little shade there is here. The venue sells Coca Cola products and food options include Pizza Hut and a variety of food trucks. The Kebabalicious food truck is delicious (but the same food options are considerably less when the truck is at the Domain). Beers, waters, frozen margaritas. Bathroom lines get SUPER long here and security is usually out the front to make sure you use your gender specific restroom.
I have only missed one year - the year it rained (2015). Each eveny has been better than the last. It has been fascinating watching the evolution of the facility from a somewhat uncoordinated, pebble strewn track to the sleek facility it is now. The COTA club at turn 12 is awesome, but with all the trackside watching around the track there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
Good facility, but poor location. It's basically off in the middle of nowhere, and some of the roads are unpaved. 100% outdoor, including facilities. Bathrooms are portapoties, and atrocious. People have no respect. Walked into one with fecal matter on the ceiling. On the ceiling! Who is throwing their poo? I mean, really. Ugh.
This is a great US track. The venue was clean and generally well organized. The only drawback was that taxi drop off for formula 1 was almost 30 minutes of walking to the gate. Even the $50/day shuttles were only a few hundred yards closer.
I can't wait until this this track opens. Everything from F1 to concerts. This is coing to be yet another huge draw for Austin. Tickets for PSL holders are going on now. They stopped construction and had us all scared that this wouldn't come through but everything seems up and going as planned again. This WILL be awesome!
Great Venue Once You Get Parked & Inside: We attended 2 days of events. One a concert on Saturday night and then the Indy races on Sunday. The venue itself is excellent. No complaints at all. However, they need better signage to direct you to the appropriate parking lots. We had purchased the 3 day parking pass and once we came to the front gate we turned in to find Parking Lot T. We drove and drove and started to wonder if there really was a T Lot. Finally asked some officers who told us we needed to turn on the upcoming street right and it would take us there. We finally found it and realized once we saw the main grandstands that if we had just gone straight instead of turning in the main gate that Lot T was just a short drive up, but there was NO SIGNAGE to tell us to bypass the main gate and go straight for Lot T.
Then the shuttle experience was not great. No signage to tell you to get in a certain line to get in a shuttle for main grandstand and Lot T, so all of these people are grouped all together. Saturday and Saturday night were bad, but not nearly as bad as Sunday after the Indycar race ended. People were standing at the main grandstand waiting for the shuttle, and when two pulled up we were told we couldn't get on that we needed to wait and get on from the other side of the drive. People were walking back and forth between the shuttles to go across and then were blocking parking lot exits. It was actually not very safe at all. Then when the shuttles came back that direction they were already full. We should have been allowed to get on the one direction and you'd just stay on until your shuttle stopped at your lot. It was a free for all and people who had drank too much were not nice. More signage with staff directing people into lines like they did Saturday night would have made a huge difference and not left people upset by their last experience with the venue.
Other than the directions to parking lots and lack of shuttle organization once inside the experience was great. Very nice venue.
Unfortunately, everything else falls off pretty drastically from there. Starting with: - The food options are extremely limited, mixed quality and fairly expensive -- bring your own snacks. - The drink options are ok but expensive (specifically alcohol) -- definitely figure out a way to bring your own. - Ticket offices, Bathrooms and all facilities are under-sized for the crowds -- expect lines for everything. LONG lines at big events. - But the worst, the killer for this venue, is the parking. They've got about 1/30 the amount of parking needed turning getting in and out of the place into a multi-hour nightmare. For the final day of COTA, we spent 4 hours at the race and 4.5 hours trying to get in and out. Traffic is bad, coordination is bad, planning is bad, execution is bad -- all around, the parking & traffic plan couldn't have been designed by a more incompetent group.
Love going to concerts here because Outdoors very roomy and not super hot like it is in a building with thousands of people nice fresh air Under the Stars
Great place to see a show. Concessions are pricey, but now days, they all are. But 12 bucks for a 16oz Bud lt? Mmm, I'll sneak in a flask next time lol.
There was no organization except in the pits. You need to be careful when you go to accreditation that they give you everything you need. We had VIP tickets and after the first night the had changed how they separated out who was who. Then after that my party tried to get a straight answer from someone so we could now get the changed accreditation "bracelets" and we received 8 different answers from 6 people.
Ive been to COTA for F1 and again for cycling. F1 was awesome! They have a area dedicated to Veterans which is awesome. Great views of the track and plenty of food trucks nearby. Cycling was great as well. Smooth event with plenty of space. Great city views from the track.
This place is amazing. I've been for a variety of races and track days (have not yet been for a concert). Getting here takes a while but it's easy and there is a ton of parking with shuttles to some of the further parking lots. The main grandstand is awesome with a great view of the pits and great concession areas. It's fun to wander around the circuit and check out all the various features and even the views from the different stands. Definitely an experience that every Austinite should have!
Cool circuit with uniquely good access to several vantage points for general entry ticket holders. Good food on race day. Parking is a pain, so is finding an Uber/Lyft on your way back. Expect to pay ~4-5 times normal charges.
This is an amazing facility that has so much going on - the amphitheatre, karting, the track itself. Love this place. So many different viewing spots depending on what you like.
